Photoshop elements 10 editor from app store
Two questions before downloading from app store:
1: Is this full version of the editor? except for the organizer not included.
2: Can I use camera raw for this version?

The only other difference is that licensing and support is provided by Apple in the first instance rather than Adobe and it‘s a stand alone app.

Does photoshop elements 12 editor on app store support retina display
Hello.
I was wondering if anyone has downloaded photoshop elements 12 editor from the app store and does it support the retina display function. I know that the version you get from adobe ( elements 12) does not support this function. The reason I ask is that I have elements 11 and that does not support retina display and the screen image does not look crisp. I would of thought that because it comes from apple/app store themselves it should, but i don't won't to upgrade if it is still the same. Adobe says that downloaded patches don’t work with the app store version (see FAQ)

but some have found a work around. You can right-click the Editor application to show Package Contents if you are sufficiently technically minded to find your way around the OSX system. See the thread for Barbara’s instructions:

Have downloaded Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 Editor from the Mac App Store onto my Mac Book Pro, set i photo preferences to Adobe PSE 10 editor, but when I try to open a file from my photo library, the following message appears: "could not complete your request because of a program error". What can I do to resolve this issue?

My Photoshop elements 11 stopped working app store purchase
I purchased photoshop 11 from the app store and it has stopped working. It crashes during load. (See the code below). I have tried uninstalling and reinstaling. And it did not fix the issue. I found a few others having the same problem with app store purchase but never see a resolution. I downloaded the Adobe Photoshop Elements 12 trial from the Adobe website and it works without an issue. Can anyone help me with this?

Photoshop Elements 9 Editor from Mac App Store - Specifics
I have a user who can't install a set of actions.
The installation of 3rd party actions so they will show up in the panels of Elements requires something to trigger a rebuild of the UI, and typically that can be done by removing the file ThumbDatabase.db3 from the folder /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Photoshop Elements/9.0.
This user has a Mac running Lion, would like to install the actions, but the folder mentioned above simply does not exist. Nor does a system-wide search turn up a ThumbDatabase.db3 any place else.Barbara B. wrote:

Normally one expects to find these files. The .db3 files normally get auto-regenerated at Elements startup if they're missing.

The above was generated from an installation of the Elements 9 package from Adobe.com, not the Apple Store.
Notably the download from the App Store is about half the size (1 GB vs. 2 GB). Unfortunately, I don't see a "try before you buy" capability there, and I'd like to do a little more research before spending the $80 to buy another copy of Elements 9 from the App Store.

Adobe Photoshop Elements now on the App Store
Just a note that Adobe Photoshop Elements (sans the organizer) is now available on the Apple App Store. (I understand it it $79).

I notice that there is a new elements app which only includes the Editor. but the languages show German, French and Japanese...

Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 Editor Issue
Have downloaded Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 Editor from the Mac App Store onto my Mac Book Pro, set iPhoto preferences to Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 Editor, but when trying to open a file from my iPhoto library, the following message appears: "unable to complete your request because of a program error". What can I do to resolve this issue?
Are you able to edit an image file that's not in the iPhoto library with PSE 10?
Also the followinjg has some tips on configuring PSE for use inside iPhoto that you may or may not know about:
Using Photoshop (or Photoshop Elements) as Your Editor of Choice in iPhoto.
1 - select Photoshop as your editor of choice in iPhoto's General Preference Section's under the "Edit photo:" menu.

2 - double click on the thumbnail in iPhoto to open it in Photoshop. When you're finished editing click on the Save button. If you immediately get the JPEG Options window make your selection (Baseline standard seems to be the most compatible jpeg format) and click on the OK button. that indicates that PS wants to save it as a PS formatted file. You'll need to either select JPEG from the menu and save (top image) or click on the desktop in the Navigation window (bottom image) and save it to the desktop for importing as a new photo.
This method will let iPhoto know that the photo has been editied and will update the thumbnail file to reflect the edit..
NOTE: With Photoshop Elements 9/10 the Saving File preferences should be configured as shown:

I also suggest the Maximize PSD File Compatabilty be set to Always. In PSE’s General preference pane set the Color Picker to Apple as shown:

NOTE: If you want to use both iPhoto's editing mode and PS without having to go back and forth to the Preference pane, once you've selected PS as your editor of choice, reset the Preferences back to "Open in main window". That will let you either edit in iPhoto (double click on the thumbnail) or in PS (Control-click on the thumbnail and seledt "Edit in external editor" in the Contextual menu). This way you get the best of both worlds.

Owned Adobe Photoshop Elements 9 Editor for 6 weeks - upgrade?
I bought Adobe Photoshop Elements 9 Editor from the Mac App Store 6 weeks ago. I didn't need the organiser so the cut down version was perfect for me.
However, now Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 Editor is out but there is no upgrade option and it seems a bit harsh to expect people who bought recently to buy it all over again for a few new gadgets.
I really expected to see an upgrade to 9 to sort out the bugs I found but I'd guess that's not gonna happen now.
Is the only option "buy the new version" and hope that the bugs have been fixed?
When I Alt click "remember" on the save properties, it'd be nice if it actually remembered and not keep reverting back to GIF.Argh56 - I feel your pain.
I, too, just paid $80 for the app store version of Elements 9 very recently. The update, Elements 10, is FULL price to me.
That is rediculous. Rediculous.
Charge me $20 in-app for the upgrade. Charge me $40, if you must Adobe, but asking me to pay another $80 is absurd.
The Adobe website says that app store download version of Elements will "qualify" for an upgrade price. What is the upgrade price? $80 - the same a brand new user would pay!
It is business practices like this that really anger those customers on whom Adobe has built its success. I used Photoshop for years, and Elements for the last few years. I enjoy the product and am familiar with how it works.
However, right now.... where I'm sitting... I am oh so close to clicking on the "buy" button for Aperature and giving my $80 to a company that treats its customers better.
Maybe this is what we all need to do to communicate with Adobe in the language they speak - $$$. (Similar to the OWS 99%ers are telling the big banks?)
Honestly - this is no way to treat loyal customers.

I recently downloaded Photoshop Elements 9 Editor from the App Store to my iMac. I would like to install some Elements actions I have downloaded from the web and the instructions on Adobe and other sites say to find the following folder:

When I got to Macintosh HD/Application Support/Adobe the next folders are "Help" and "HelpCfg", not Photoshop Elements, etc. I assume this discrepancy is because this is a slightly different version (PSE9 Editor) and that my system installed it automatically from the App store. Is this correct or am I reading the instructions wrong and looking in the wrong place? More importantly, does this mean that I cannot install actions at all?

I was wondering if any has purchased photoshop elements 12 editor via the app store for a mac and does it have the function to display it properly for a retina display screen. I have lightroom which works a treat as it has ability to work with this screen. I see on the adobe website that their version of elements 12 does not support retina display. stuck with a Photoshop that doesnt work. Adobe says that they cant help without a serial number and apple doesnt let me update. This is the most bizarre I have lived in terms of software. -
Is there somewhere I can access Elements 9 Editor from Mac App Store?
I need a copy of Elements 9 Editor from the Mac App Store to do some product testing. I know it is discontinued old version however it must be possible to access it somewhere/somehow? I am happy to purchase if I can find it!!
ThanksI am not aware of anywhere that you can still purchase Elements 9. It's too old.

However you'll only be able to use it for 30 days since you do not have a serial number and there's no way of buying one that I know of. -

just wondering if any of you know whether the $79 version of Photoshop Elements 10 Editor on the App Store is the same as the full version of Photoshop Elements 10 that is sold at $140? If not, what is the difference?

I have an iPad which was provided my employer. I am a PE teacher and use it primarily to access our web-based registration system in a sports centre. If i use it at home, it connects straight to the wifi and i can access everything i want to, but at
