Photoshop Elements 10 Greeting Cards

I have tried and tried to print a greeting card locally (i.e. on my home printer) using Photoshop Elements 10.  I have searched the forums and found suggestions to save and reopen to print, but it doesn't work for me.  I can't believe Photoshop has had this problem for so long and never fixed it.  I bought PSE10 a month before 11 came out and when I try to contact support, they refuse, telling me support only applies to 11.  I have searched, phoned, chatted, and experimented for hours, only to tell me that for another $29 Adobe will discuss the issue with me.  Incredible.    When I click the menu to create a greeting card, it gives me size options for Shutterfly, nothing for local printing.  And if I click PRINT, it doesn't work - it prints the card out on four separate sheets of paper, no matter what settings I try to change.
I finally insisted on speaking with a Supervisor, named Fhekhar, who sounded more accomodating after a long wait on hold.  They sent me an email with link to solve the problem without charge.  It directed me to http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop-elements/using/create-greeting-card.html, which I had already found.  It doesn't help at all.  But it too suggests you can print locally - it just doesn't tell you how.  They also sent a link to A Photoshop Elements 9 video tutorial for printing greeting cards.  http://tv.adobe.com/watch/learn-photoshop-elements-9/creating-greeting-cards/ which I have also found before - and again not helpful.  It goes all the way up to the actual printing, but stops there and doesn't show you how!
Photoshop Elements 10 will allow you to print greeting cards on Shutterfly. I do not want to pay for printing on Shutterfly - that's why I have cardstock, an expensive photo program and a printer!
Has anyone solved this??????????????

I have used Greeting Card Factory and it's an inexpensive excellent program, but there is no need to purchase it.
I made my greeting cards from scratch.  I don't bother with the templates provided with PSE.
For fold-over cards, I make two projects.
Start with a document size  before folding.  i.e. -  8.5x5.5 card needs to start with a 8.5x11 document.
Document one is the front and back of the card.  Note, the front graphic needs to be on the bottom of document one.  Anything for the back needs to be upside down and near the top of the document.
Document two is the inside.  Again, the verse needs to be on the bottom half of the document.
I save them as jpgs and print document one on the first side
Reinsert the cardstock, print document two on the other side.
When printing - the only thing that is tricky is making sure you re-insert the cardstock in the right direction.
I have found it much easier to do things my own way rather than work within the confines of PSE's templates.

How do I save a thumbnail image in the project bin without it disappearing when I close it? thanks.

    Hi,
There is one more easy workaround
    1. Open all the image that you want to see in Editor.
    2. Click the flyout menu at the top-right corner of project bin.
    3. Choose "Save Bin as an album. Give the name for the new album. When you press "OK" it will save the unsaved files.
    4. Your dropdown above the project bin will change to the name of the album.
    5. Now close all of the files.
    6. Your images will be visible in the project bin.
    7. If you want to see the currently opened image in project bin  then again click the dropdown and choose "Show Open Files".
Do reply if you have any questions. Will be glad to help.
    Thanks,

Installed Photoshop Elements. Card Reader still not Working.

And what does any of that have to do with Adobe software? You better check your hardware setup and install the proper driver for whatever card reader you use...

  • Can Anyone Tell Me How to Create Greeting Cards with Photoshop Elements 7 or 8?

I need a 7x10 page setup so that when the card is folded to a 5x7 my photo is landscape on the outside of the card.  Currently I can only find a 8 1/2 x 11 paper size.
    Thanks,

In Photoshop Elements 8 Editor, go to the Create tab, and you will see Greeting card, with 5x7 page size.

  • Making a greeting card in Photoshop Elements 11

    Hi
I am new to this forum and have only just purchased Photoshop Elements 11.  I was interested in making single fold greeting cards using my own photos.  I wanted to make the image fill the front page and not use the templates provided, is this possible?
    Many thanks

Sure. In the editor just create a new file the width you want and double the length (so you can fold the card) at the ppi resolution you want. Use the rulers, set a guide, or use the grid to figure out exactly where the middle is. The bottom half is the front cover. Now get out the graphics panel (window>graphics) and add backgrounds, image frames, images, graphics, text, etc.
EDIT If you want a printed inside, you'll need a second file with the same dimensions. Printing will have to be done in two passes.

  • Photoshop Element 8 Greeting Card Project Page Size?

Can someone explain why I do not see the "Page Size" option in the Greeting Card Projects Bin? Thanks.

Thanks Garry. I have done this but the print size option doesn't appear (BUT it does for other Projects but not for the Greeting Card Project). The rest of the functions on the Greeting Card Project all appear to work. The Greeting Card just comes up as 7x5 but there is no option to change this.
I am using Vista home premium. All print options/functions are working normally and i don't seem to have any other problems with Photoshop Elements.

  • Photoshop Elements 4.0 greeting card Question

I am working with windows xp, and am using the trial version to see if I like it, and was creating a greeting card with a photo on the front, but could not resize it. It gave me a nice size picture with a very generous border around it. Any suggestions, other than buy the product, which I may well do.
Also, while I have your attention does PSE 4 convert Nikon D50 raw files
    Regards,
    vidman

Best advice: get a real greeting card program, like American Greetings CreataCard, for making cards, but keep your image editor for editing images.
    Best regards,
    Walt

  • How do I find folded greeting cards in Elements 10?

I'm using elements 10 but don't see any folded greeting cards, only flat.

Are you asking about video transitions like turning the pages of a photo book? Where are you seeing the 'flat' greeting cards?
[EDIT] Photoshop Elements has greeting card features including Folded. If that is what you are looking for you will get better advice from the Photoshop Elements  forum.

  • Valid Size not available for this Creation (Greeting card only) - Elements 10 for Mac

I purchased Adobe Photoshop/Premiere Elements 10 for my MAC and am getting "VALID SIZE NOT AVAILABLE FOR THIS CREATION" when I try to create a GREETING CARD only.  All other options in CREATE work.
I have read other forums on here and have tried everything they have said and it still does not work.  I have tried:
opt, cmd and shift to delete preferences
    uninstalled and reinstalled
performed updates on both my MAC and the program
Can anyone PLEASE suggest other solutions to this problem?  Perhaps I am doing something wrong.  Thanks!

Hi - My file structure is somewhat different than the file structure that you describe in the first part of your note (My system is Windows XP with Service Pack 3).  This is what my file structure looks like:
        C:/Program Files/Adobe/Elements 10 Organizer/locales/en_US
             >application_swfs
             >Plug-Ins
             >Suppport Files
No Creation Graphics folder, no Kodak Gallery Folder, no files with the name E9_preview_photocard_1(or2).jpg.
I perfromed a hard drive search on filename E9_preview_photocard* and found these files under:
         C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Adobe\Photoshop Elements\10.0\Locale\en_us\CreationGraphics\local
I performed a hard drive search on Kodak Gallery and found the file under:
         C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Adobe\Photoshop Elements\10.0\Locale\en_us\CreationGraphics\Kodak Gallery
This Kodak Gallery folder contains 10 files, 2 of which appear to be related to Greeting Cards.  These are 5x7_adobe_folded_cards and 5x7_adobe_folded_cards_zoom
Regarding the 235x120 greeting files, I search and found these under
         C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Adobe\Photoshop Elements\10.0\Photo Creations\photo layouts
    NOW WHAT???
    thanks

  • Greeting cards and Elements

I'm thinking of purchasing photoshop elements 3.0. I have 2 questions-
    1. Will there soon be a 4.0 elements? Should I wait to purchase, or did 3.0 just come out? (I noticed there's a windows 4.0 elements version)
    2. Can you design greeting cards with this Photoshop Elements software? iphoto seems very limiting on what you can do with greeting cards- adding text, design on back, etc. If Elements doesnt do this, can anyone suggest a good software application for greeting cards, cd cases, etc.
    thanks!

Well, it looks like PE4 will eventually be available for mac as well, but they won't say when:
    http://blogs.adobe.com/jnack/
Glad you're enjoying printshop, although I don't know of anything that comes standard with PCs that takes its place, not these days. I find I need to buy at least as much software for my pc as my mac.

  • When using Card Reader, the automatic downloader is not working in Photoshop Elements 8

I have Windows Vista and just upgraded to Photoshop Elements 8.0. The Elements program is not automatically launching when I insert a CF card in my PC. The settings I have for the camera or card reader is 1) Begin download -immediately 2) Shot date 3)Delete Options - After copying, Verify and Delete Originals. When I was using Photoshop Elements 6.0 and inserted a memory card in the PC, the elements program would automatically launch and after photos were transferred, it would ask if you wanted to delete photos from the card reader.
I tried changing the settings from the Download options from Generic Device - show APD Dialog (Standard) to the Automatic Download option but that didn't help. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to make the automatic downloader work and bring up the option to delete from the card reader? If not, I will have to uninstall Elements 8 and go back to Elements 6.0
    Thanks.

First of all be sure your space bar isn't stuck. Secondly, if you have a flash window open, you may need to close it to get rid of the hand (this happens a lot when people have a tutorial open in the background).
