Photoshop Elements 10 - is there way to set tile to vertical as default?

Have managed to create a AutoHotkey script for keyboard shortcut to tile via Window/Image/Tile but on first use defaults to horizontal. Once changed via Arrange 2up it remembers. Is there a registry hack or a tip or trick? I do side by side all the time and although there is the workaround it's moderately irritating.

Thanks for the fast reply. I'm using Windows 7. Works the same with or without the script which I've set as Control+Z. I was using floating but tried setting tabbed in Preferences but it did not seem to have any effect.
However, Windows>Images>Consolidate All to Tabs worked like a charm and vertical. I'll have to rejig the script so it does the Consolidating first but I do wish it could be adjusted simply in Preferences. I'm not a natural scripter.

Photoshop Elements 2 Quits Half Way Through Loading ?

I installed PSE 2 on my new iMac but when launched it gets about half-way through and then quits with an error message saying there is some sort of terrible problem.
The actual wording is:-
"An unexpected and unrecoverable problem has occurred because of a program error. Photoshop will now exit".
Is this a known problem with this old application ?
It installed from the CD without a hint of a problem.

Wow! You got yourself a great machine there, Ian. If mine wasn't just a few months over a year old I'd be tempted to go for a nice 24 incher myself .
PSE4 is nowhere near as fast as PSE6 on our Intel machines. On my 2 GHz machine PSE6 boots up in 11 seconds whereas PSE4 did so in about 25. When loading up multiple pictures at a time PSE4 was pretty sluggish about it (I never actually timed it) whereas when I do that with 6 it does so in a flash. For instance I just now timed the loading of 6 color images and it did so in 3 seconds.
And yes there are a number of new features with it but for me the speed and responsiveness over PSE4 make it well worth while. I do a lot of image editing and retouching and that's the reason I favor the quickness of response of the application. That said there are also some things that one has to get used to about the new interface. Here's a review about that:

It comes with a manual but I got myself a copy of "Photoshop Elements 6 for Mac: the Missing Manual" by Barbara Brundage which is far more comprehensive and much easier to follow. If you get PSE 6 I highly recommend that you get a copy of it also.

How do I deactivate photoshop elements 10? There is no option in the help menu.

My computer is in need of a reinstall of the software (getting very glitchy.) I can't find the deactivate option in Photoshop Elements 10.

Go to Settings/Wi-Fi, tap on the other network, tap "info" and hit "Forget this network"
If you have "ask to join networks" activated as well, your device will connect automatically to those you joined before and choose not to forget.

Is the timeline in Photoshop Elements feature still there?

I am looking to upgrade my Elements software. I am still running 3.0 as it still worked for me.
One feature I really liked about the photo organizer is the timeline view. It allow me to find photos very quickly. I believe I saw a tutorial for 11.0 and it was mentioned.
Is this feature still there? If not when did Adobe stop including it?

Hi, I am going potty trying to merge some scanned pencil drawings in photomerge panorama. The pictures do not automatically align (although there is overlap). Does anyone know if there is a manual option for moving like in the old elements?

BB10 was originally designed without any direct sync and only via cloud-based services...Outlook was added recently, but so far no other desktop PIMs have shown up as compatible.

Looking for a way to set my own destination for default save as for pdf's

Adobe reader always wants to save files I open online to a temporary directory and I would like to set a specific location on my C drive. It wouldn't be so bad, but Adobe resets after I save every file to trying to save to the temp directory even if I have another copy open that saves to the directory I want.

None of the above.
First, the specs for gigabit Ethernet would seem to be fast enough, but Ethernet is a packetized delivery system and the packets of data do not always arrive in the same order they were sent, and then they need t be re-ordered for video playback. Potential result: Dropped frames.
Second, a PC cannot be used as a file server for Final Cut Pro editing.
Third, having 5 or 6 computers banging away at a single computer would also tend to result in dropped frames.
What you really need is a SAN, a Storage Area Network. Those tend to be pricey. There is an alternative that might be a bit more budget friendly, but it cannot be used the way you have specified.
You could install external drive arrays on all computers and a gigabit Ethernet switch. Then use the Ethernet to copy needed files between systems. It is sometimes possible to edit from one workstation to another using gigabit Ethernet, but it invites dropped frames, so I don't recommend it.
BTW, when you say SD, do you mean uncompressed 601 video, or DV? Uncompressed 601 video is 21 or 28 MB/sec/stream. DV is 3.6 MB/sec/stream. Big difference in overall bandwidth requirements for what you'd like to do.
IMO, your best bet would be to bring in a consultant/technician who can spec out a system for you. Don't try to do it yourself.

Way to set 3D Preview "ON" by default?

BTW… I tried to search for an answer, but the resulting threads showed up without titles. Must be a problems with the forum.

Since the 3D is handled by an .aip (AI plugin; a compiled C++ bit of software) it's impossible to change the defaults. Yolu could do a feature request. It was probably set to off originally to help speed up the process.
