Same problem here.  Someone else in this thread suggested the problemwas solved by downloading the latest iTunes but the iTunes check says I havethe latest (10.5.1).
What is really frustrating is spending an hour on the phone with Apple, whosay "we don't know the solution, it must be an Adobe problem, we don'tsupport Adobe, call Adobe tech support".  I pointed out that theiTunes software suggests Photoshop Elements as a sync option, so obviously theiTunes developers intended to support Elements, but the tech support staff thisevening apparently cannot see why they should care.  I asked Evan (no lastname given), the senior tech I was eventually transferred to, to at least sendme an e-mail saying they couldn't or wouldn't help me, so I could show thee-mail to the support staff at Adobe, but he said they were not allowed to sende-mails.  I pressed him and he said he'd check, and after 10 minutes onhold hung up on me.  I'd heard Apple phone support was good but that's not my experience.

  • Wrong Photoshop Elements catalog in iTunes to sync with iPhone

    Hi,
I am using windows XP, latestversion of iTunes and Photoshop Elements 5 (PSE5).
I use several catalogs, one per each company I work for, and one entirely for personal pictures. The personal pictures catalog is the one I want to have automatically synchronized with iPhone, however, even though it is the "active" catalog that opens by default in Photoshop Elements, iTunes detects an other catalog and I want to change this so iTunes refers to the correct catalog. I tried restarting the PC after loading the desired catalog in PSE5 and closing it, and iTunes still refers to one of my work catalogs that I don't wish to use.
Any clue how to do this.
I could of course, have iTunes point to a specific folder, export the images from my personal catalog to that specific folder and do so every time I need to add pictures to my iPhone. This involves doing the image export and transfer manually every time, instead of automatically having the desired images added to the iPhone during sync, after they were tagged in PSE5 with the appropriate tag.
    Thanks!

    Hi there.
Thanks for the response. Just to clarify, what is this and where can I find it? Finder Help had nothing to say about it, and Google just led me to this page:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1865
which strongly recommended me not to mess with it.
I really do need to make this old email account go away, I just need to make sure that I don't make the problem worse in the process. Thanks in advance for any help, just want to be extra careful here.

  • ITunes 8 won't integrate correctly with photoshop elements

Brand new Ipod Touch. Photoshop elements 4.0. Latest Touch documentation says iTunes can sync photos from this program (either all photos or photos from specific albums). In the settings of the touch when it is connected the option to sync "all" from PS4 comes up, but the album list is blank. In PSE, I have 3 collections I specifically created for this purpose that should appear in the specific albums list. Anyone get it to work? I fear version 8.0 really isn't compatable with PSE4, only newest versions.
    Please help. Thanks!

  • Can't select albums with photoshop elements 10 with iTunes 10.6

I first upgraded Itunesvto 10.6 and the downloaded the trial version of adobe photoshop elements 10, never had any previous photoshop versions.  When I go into iTunes and go under the sync photos tab and select the photoshop elements for "sync from" I can't select albums, only all photos.  I have only two "smart" albums in elements, but I figured they should be seen.
I tried a solution from another forum, but it did not work.  It was:
    1. Open catalogue in elements
    2. Rename catalogue
    3. Optimize renamed catalogue
    4. Restart iTunes
    This did not work.
I'd like to avoid manually updating the folders as I really only want to have the previous 3 or 6 months worth of photos on my iPad
    Thanks.

I solved the mystery. It had to do with the file metadata in the Photoshop Elements catalog. When I moved the catalog (pictures) from my old machine to the new machine, the path (folder location) of the images changed. So, although the catalog had cached thumbnails of the photos to display in Photoshop Elements (which tricked me into thinking that the path to the images was correct), the paths were actually wrong. All I had to do was “reconnect” the missing images (a feature in Photoshop Elements which corrects missing/wrong paths to images) and now everything works correctly (sync in iTunes).

  • Adobe Photoshop Elements 4.0 work with iTunes?

I been using Adobe Photoshop Elements 3.0 and iTunes does see it and tranfer my photo to my iPod. i upgraded to Adobe Photoshop Elements 4.0 and now iTunes doesn't see it. on Apple support page, it said Adobe Photoshop Elements 3.0 and later but that isn't the case.
Does anyone else having this issue or apple need to fix it?
5G 60GB iPod   Windows XP Pro

You are going to have to contact Adobe on this one. We are other users.
Sounds like it's not even an Apple question? Not sure.
But the Adobe program changed, nothing changed in iTunes, right?

  • Itunes sharing with Photoshop Elements?

I have Photoshop Elements 9 on Windows 7.
My wife has an iPad 2. I'm getting an iPad 3.
When I set up iTunes syncing for my wife's iPad I created a folder of some special
family pictures and I just sync that one folder to her iPad.
I'm the photographer and PSE user in the house.
For my iPad I'd like to be able to share more of my PSE images.
I have about 8,000 and 32GB of images in PSE.
I have made extensive use of tag keywords to identify all the people, pets, places, events, etc. in the picture.
So I don't have a lot of albums. But I can find any picture by selecting the right keyword tags.
My understanding is that PSE stores the tag information back into the actual image.
I saw in iTunes on my Windows PC that there is a selection under Photos for Sharing with Photoshop.
What are my options there? For my new iPad. I think my wife's is ok as it is.
What I'd really like is to get a lot of the images from PSE onto my iPad.
And have that same keyword selection ability on the iPad so that I can find pictures easily.
If there is a better way to do that than through iTunes syncing then I'm open to that as well.
Thanks for any thoughts or advice. We love these iPads!

While I haven't heard a solution to posts I've made to both Adobe and iTunes sites, I have found a manual workaround.
The catalog files that iTunes uses are of the format "catalog.pseXdb".
In my case, the new catalog is "catalog.pse13db" and the old is "catalog.pse9db". These files are found in catalog folders like: C:\ProgramData\Adobe\Elements Organizer\Catalogs\Elements 9 Catalog
    With iTunes and PSE closed,
    1) copy the catalog.pse13db file to the "Elements 9 Catalog folder.
    2) rename the old catalog.pse9db file to keep it and deactivate it
    3) rename catalog.pse13db to catalog.pse9db
iTunes will continue to use the older catalog file, but it now has new catalog contents.  The manual part is that this will need to be done prior to each time you want to sync new catalog content to your devices.
Somewhere around PSE version 7, the catalog file format changed, so this technique may not work for upgrades from about v7 upward.

  • Apple! Please support Adobe Photoshop Elements 6 with iTunes!

After upgrading Adobe Photoshop Elements from version 5 to version 6, pictures can not be synced. Please fix iTunes to support version 6. I have the latest itunes version 7.5.0.20 on windows.

iTunes doesn’t support syncing with Adobe Photoshop Elements 6. Adobe made significant changes to the program’s internal database, which iTunes reads directly. Hacking the registry won’t work, since iTunes is expecting the older database format. Apple is finally starting to update its documents to explicitly state they only support versions 3-5, e.g.
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=305703
My clumsy work-around is to export the desired photos from PSE 6 into a set of Windows folders and then sync iTunes with the folders. The likelihood that Apple will fix iTunes soon seems small.

  • ITunes won't integrate with Photoshop Elements 6 for Photo Syncing

I just recentley upgraded to Photoshop Elements 6 for organizing my photos, but for some reason, it keeps showing up my old Photoshop Elements 5 catalouge (which by the way, states that there's 0 pictures on listed albums) instead of my new Photoshop Elements 6 cataloug.
Is this a glitch in iTunes or problem with Adobe...
Also is this integration error something to do with Adobe delaying the release of Photoshop Elements 6 for Mac?

Upgraded to iTunes 7.6, and now the sync is working perfectley....
I KNEW IT! Adobe delayed the release of Photoshop Element for Mac BECAUSE OF iTunes for Windows AND iPhoto INTEGRATION PROBLEMS!!!!
WHY ADOBE, WHY DID YOU WROTE THE SOFTWARE THAT DELAYED THE DEVELPEMENT FOR MAC VERSION!
    Anyway, the problem is solved!

  • I bought photoshop elements in the Itunes store, can I get the PC version for free or at a discount?

I bought photoshop elements in the Itunes store, can I get the PC version for free or at a discount? I'm about to migrate back to PC and I'd love to not have to buy the program again. I'm not sure how it works though since I bought it through the Itunes app store, not adobe directly. Am I out of luck?

Theoretically you can use the itunes version to qualify for adobe's upgrade discount, but that's it. All download versions are single platform. And in many countries the street price of the full version of PSE is less than adobe's upgrade price, so it's usually not worth pursuing that. However, if you wish to, I'm told you use your apple ID as your serial number when asked. I don't know anyone who's done this, so I don't know how well it really works.

  • ITunes 11 and Photoshop Elements 11

I have a PC and I used Photoshop Elements 9.0 which used to work fine with iTunes. I was able to sync my albums to my iPhone and iPad thru iTunes.  I installed Photoshop Elements 11 and uninstalled Photoshop Elements 9.0.  The photos are not being updated to my new pictures and albums thru iTunes.  iTunes seems to be stuck on the old info.
Is there any way to point iTunes to the new Photoshop Elements 11.0 info?
Where does itunes store this info? Is there any way I can delete the old info so iTunes looks for the new info?
    Thanks for any help!!

After finally having solved this problem, I thought I'd post the link to the original solution which has been archived. For me, the important thing was to delelet all registry entries related to Elements, rebooting and starting Elements again.

  • ITunes 10 and Photoshop Elements 10

I'm running iTunes 10.4.1.10 on Windows 7 64-bit. I've just upgraded from Photoshop Elements 8.0 to 10.0 and my photo syncing (to iPhone/iPad) is no longer working. Updates that I make in PSE10 are no longer being reflected in iTunes, and are therefore not syncing to my iPhone/iPad.  Eg: if I create a new Album in PSE10 it doesn't show up in iTunes.  Before upgrading PSE, this worked fine.  From what I can tell, iTunes still appears to be referencing my old PSE8 catalog, which is no longer being updated by PSE10.  Basically, I only appear to be able to sync with my PSE8 catalog.
So, does iTunes support PSE10 yet?
Is there a simple way that I can 'point' iTunes at my new PSE10 catalog, assuming that the PSE10 catalog format is the same as previous versions?
    Any other advice or suggestions?

Well, the solution to this problem of Apple products seeing Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 albums was (hopefully) just posted on our site... see:
Apple iPad & iPhone now able to show PSE 10 albums
    Hope this helps.
I may receive some form of compensation, financial or otherwise, from my recommendation or link.

  • Problems syncing iTunes 10.5 with Photoshop Elements

    Hi all,
I've used the "Sync Photos from Photoshop Elements" option in iTunes for a long time to sync photos with my iPhone and iPad. Something's gone wrong with this since I upgraded to iTunes 10.5. I use Photoshop Elements 7.
For the iPhone, I sync to a single album in my PSE catalog. This album has about 400 photos in it. iTunes can find the album, but since the update to 10.5, it now reports that there are 0 photos in it.
For the iPad, I sync to the entire PSE catalog. This has about 2000 photos, but iTunes now reports back that there are only seven photos in it.
The only software change I've made is the update to iTunes 10.5. The photos are definitely still in the PSE catalog, and are definitely stil on my PC hard drive.
Any ideas? I know I can use a work-around by copying the PSE album to a separate folder and syncing with iTunes that way, but the direct sync with PSE 7 is something I'd like to keep if possible.
