Photoshop elements 10 saving question

I have photoshop elements and I am having trouble saving my photos as Jpeg's. I only see saving them as a DNG. I am new to this! Any help !!?

Not sure why you are being taken to bridge unless you have made a file association for all raw files.
You should be taken to Adobe camera raw.
The open image button is to the bottom right.
I assume no thumbnail is showing up in Bridge or a blank filename. You can usually highlight a file in Bridge and then click on the circular aperture symbol below the tool bar to launch directly into camera raw.
You could check your settings by launching the Editor. On the menu bar click Edit à Preferences à Saving Files
Make sure the box is checked “Prefer Adobe Camera Raw for supported Raw Files”

  • Photoshop Elements 10 Installation Question

How can I tell if my software installed properly? The software came with three discs, and it only installed the first disc. I am new to Photoshop, and do not know if my software installed properly? Can anyone help?

    Gautham K,
    Thank you for your quick replies. I have checked,and my OS is indeed 64 bit. I have been using the 32 bit version of Adobe Photoshop Elements 10, since I installed it last evening. I have a few quick questions;
Will I loose any functionality if I stay with the 32 bit version versus un-installing and installing the 64 bit version from disc 2?
If I decide to un-install, and re-install from disc 2, will there be any software registration issues (as I have already registered the software)?
Thanks again for all of your help.
    Jim

  • Photoshop elements mac, newbie questions for webshop

    Hello all,
My name is Jelle and i have photoshop elements for mac, which i mostly use to create banners, headers and backgrounds for my website www.dagelijkseluxe.nl.
Though this is my question, i think there are a lot of people like me, bumping in the same problems. Maybe it's an idea to have a webshop webinar someday (or i missed it) for some basic functions mostly used for websites. Like easy banner creation, background adjustments for sites and products, best product presentation, etc.
Even though i mostly use the guided editing, i sometimes venture off and try to use the full editor. Now, this must be too easy for most of you powerusers, but the background of the webshop is still a bit to dark to my liking. However i feel i have reached all i can do with the different sliders presented in the guided tour.
Is there an easy way to "mistify" the background or any photo for that matter?
I also save the files as PNG as per recommendation from the sitebuilder. what's the difference with interlaced and non interlaced saving.
Thank you in advance for your time!
    Kind regards,
    Jelle Dingemans

    You could use:
Filter >> Blur >> Gaussian Blur
That should mystify or blur your image.
Interlaced is a better method for displaying mainly large images on monitors - but you get a slightly larger file. Small images tend to load very quickly so non-interlaced will keep the file size down.

  • Photoshop Elements 5.0 Question - Barbara Brundage

I saw in Staples Photoshop Elements 5.0 after rebates the cost was $39.99.
I currently have Elements 4. Disappointment because not be able to
create a DVD slideshow and show on TV screen.
Question: Does Elements 5.0 software as shown in the Staples ad and
Elements 5.0/Premier the same software package. I called Adobe and the
salesperson could not sell the software for $39.99. He said Elements 5.0
would create a DVD but I needed Premier to create DVD slideshow. Otherwords, is Elements 5.0 and Premier two different software packages. If they are can I just purchase Premier and use with Elements 4.0. My main objective is to create a DVD slideshow and show the slideshow on a TV screen using a DVD player. Thanks

    Wayne,
Since your main objective is to create DVD slideshows, you should take a
    look at ProShow Gold (http://www.photodex.com/products/proshowgold/).
ProShow Gold is designed specifically for making slideshows and gets top
    reviews.
Premiere Elements is designed to make digital movies. I've used it to
create create slide shows with excellant results, but, if all you want is
slide shows, ProShow Gold is probably a better bet.
The current version of Premiere Elements is version 3.0 and you can buy it
separately. However, the feature that let's you create a slideshow in
Photoshop Elements and pass it to Premiere Elements 3.0 to burn a DVD only
works with Photoshop Elements 5.0 not 4.0.
Photoshop Elements 4.0 works with Premiere Elements 2.0. If you are using
Photoshop Elements 4.0, you will have to import the slides into Premiere
Elements 3.0 and create the entire slide show there.

  • Photoshop Elements 12 (GIF Question)

Can I edit .GIF files in Photoshop Elements 12?
I can drag the gif file into the program, but it does not show up animated.
I've test edited some gifs, but the only file that changes is the first layer of the GIF.
    Help?

Yes you can. For animated gifs you place each frame on its own layer. Use 'Save for Web', select the GIF option, check 'Animate' and complete the animation section.

  • Photoshop Elements 7 saving large files issue

I use Photoshop Elements 7, I recently bought a new camera (24 megapixels). PSE7 is not happy, I am having lots of issues saving my work. Is anyone else having these issues?

DJ, My computer is windows 8, below are the system requirements for PSE12 - looks like it will run in 64-bit. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!
No, you have seriously misunderstood what I said. PSE will not run as a 64 bit application under Windows. Even though you have a 64 bit version of Windows, PSE will NOT run as a 64 bit application under Windows. It will run as a 32 bit application under Windows 64bit, giving it a maximum of approx 3 GB of memory to work with. I don't know if that will make your problems go away or not. Please download the 30-day free trial of PSE 12 and see if your problems go away or not before you make a purchase.
    From the system requirements
all other applications run native on 32-bit operating systems and in 32-bit compatibility mode on 64-bit operating systems

  • Photoshop Elements 12 saving over files without asking

Open a picture in Elements 12, on Mac, do a Save As, give it a name without an extension, and save.  It will save the file and add a .jpg at the end.  Then open a different file, do a Save As, give it the same name as you just saved the other file with, without an extension, and save.  It will overwrite the existing file you saved first, without asking, and add .jpg to the name again.  I have lost all kinds of files, and I dont know which ones, by PS Elements 12 saving over them without warning me!  BUG!

Oh, and while you're in there delete:
    com.adobe.PhotoshopElements.plist
    Adobe Photoshop Elements 12 paths
    Adobe Photoshop Elements 12 settings
There's a saved application states folder at the same level as the Preferences folder. Delete anything in there for PSE.

  • Photoshop Elements 11 Download Question

If I buy the Photoshop ELements 11 Download, meaning no hard copy is being sent to me in the mail, can I download it on my two computers? I own both a desktop and a laptop.

    Hi minner105,
It doesnt matter if you have a hard copy or a downloaded copy.
As per the End User License Agreement (EULA), at any given instance you are eligible to install the software on 2 computers.

  • Photoshop Elements 4.0 question

I own Photoshop Elements 4.0. I am unable to download photos from my iPHone to my Windows laptop.  The photo downloader reports it has encountered a problem and must shut down.  Is there a solution?

Try downloading images directly to a folder on your hard drive, if possible.
    Then use the Organizer menu:
File >> Get Photos & Videos >> From Files & Folders

i canot download the photoshop 12 I just purchased. I also have photoshop 9 elements on computer.should i have bought photoshop 12 elements?

if you follow all 7 steps you can directly download a trial here:  http://prodesigntools.com/photoshop-elements-12-direct-download-links-premiere.html
and activate with your serial number.
if you have a problem downloading, you didn't follow all 7 steps, or your browser does not accept cookies.
the most common problem is caused by failing to meticulously follow steps 1,2 and/or 3 (which adds a cookie to your system enabling you to download the correct version from adobe.com) which results in an error page being displayed after clicking a link on prodesigntools.com

  • Is there anyway to retain layers in Photoshop Elements while saving to a .jpg format?

I'm new to using PSE, and I like their concept of layers so that the original photo is not altered, however, my preference is to save all of my files utilizing .jpg.  I actually found out yesterday that after 3 weeks of scanning in very old family photos, then using PSE11 and utilizing layers and then saving to .jpg, that now when I reopen these files in PSE that the layers created are gone.  Please help!

    roberta5419014 wrote:
Hi, although I'm really disappointed to hear that JPEG file format does not allow one to preserve the layer structure, I like your suggestion to keep the original psd files on a separate external drive.  I'm undertaking a massive job to scan in and then photoshop several generations of photos (estimated at over 8,000 photos), and as mentioned before I'd like to have all finished files saved as jpegs, but doing minimum compression as I know that it's a lossy format.  I guess I'll need to think what's the likelihood of wanting to access the original photos again in psd so that the background layer is preserved.  One last question if I may, you mentioned that converting over to jpeg is easy enough to do.  Is it simply a matter of selecting each PSD file and saving as a .jpg or is there a faster and or bulk method to convert multiple files to jpeg?  Thanks for all your help in fielding these questions?
If you google "batch conversion PSD to JPEG" you will get many hits for converters.
Your proposed work-flow is not clear to me. Are you planning to scan these photos and process all of them in PSE, then save them in PSD with the layers intact? Or, are you planning  to scan them and simply save the scans without initial PSE processing?
I bring this up as I did a project last year, scanning/digitizing old 2x2" Kodacolor slides in the cardboard mounts. Initially I just scanned them and saved them to disk as JPEG. On further review, some were not interesting, others had folks in them whose identity remains cryptic, etc. The bottom line is that I was selective in processing them in PSE.
I wouldn't worry about JPEG compression as a deterrent unless you Open>modify>save, Open>modify>save repeatedly.

  • New Photoshop Elements 12 Installation - Questions

I just downloaded Elements and Premier Elements from Amazon.
The installation folder has three EXE files "PhotoshopElements_12_      "  ending in
    WWEFDJ.exe
    WWEFDJ_win32.exe
    WWEFDJ_win64.exe
    There are no installation instructions.
Does anyone know what each file does and the differences in installation?

    My mistake
    The files are actually named
    PhotoshopElements_12_WWEFDJ.exe
    PremiereElements_12_ WWEFDJ_win32.exe
    PremiereElements_12_WWEFDJ_win64.exe
The first is the Photoshop installer and it appears that Premiere has a separate installer for the 32 bit and 64 bit versions.
    Thank you
