Photoshop Elements 10 Slide Show

In creating a slide show, after I add a mp3 audio clip for background music, I would like to adjust the volume as I do narration over the top of it.  The volume slider in the audio properties tab has no effect except for previewing the clip within the tab.  The volume during playback within the slide show remains constant.  What exactly does the volume slider do?

When you do bring your SlideShow into Premiere Elements, this ARTICLE might be helpful.
You mention that your Audio Clip is MP3, and you might find this ARTICLE useful.
Good luck,
Hunt

    Photoshop Elements 7, slide show?
I am attempting to create a slide show and upload it to my web site. I follow step by step creation the show. Choose a template and export to FTP. The recommended upload address ftp.mydomain.com ( I do enter my actual domain name ) does not work. The message I get is “resolve FTP server address. I then tried the ftp address I use to upload changes to my site from Microsoft Expression 4, ftp://www.mydomain.com. That also does not work. I have attempted several versions with no luck. What am I missing?

I have no problem uploading changes to my web site using ftp://www.mysite.com . I have been doing that for several years. It is only in PSE that I am having a problem. I have tried several versions of the FTP upload address beginning with the PSE recommended ftp.mysite.com and ending with the one I normally use.
    Thanks,
    Tom

  • Problem with music volume in Photoshop Elements 12 slide show

I'm creating a slide show in Photoshop Elements 12 and want to include several songs.  I'm on Windows 7.  I've worked with the songs in another program, DJ Audio Editor, to make them fade at the end of each clip.  Each is saved as an MP3.   However, when I bring them into the slide show, there's no reduction in volume at the ends of the clips.  The volume stays full and then abruptly cuts off at the end of the clip - exactly what I'm trying to avoid.   Does anyone know why Elements 12 isn't recognizing the fade at the ends of the music clips I've created?

Just as a guess... they are not compatible... you need plugins that are compatible with the program you are using, not something written for a different program

  • Fonts available in Photoshop Elements 11 Slide Show

I am new to Photoshop Elements 11.  I am trying to create a slide show using "create" then "slide show" from the Media Section of the Organizer.  I have inserted some blank slides into the sequence and would like to use them as title pages.  I can only seem to find about 16 choices of font to write with.  I have used Photoshop Elements 3 for years and there must have been at least 100 or so choices of font to write with.  What am I missing here?

PSE will use all the fonts you have on your system.  Are you sure you have your fonts in the correct location on your computer.  On my system I have 100s of fonts 98% I don't even know or use them:

  • Photoshop Elements 4 Slide Show Tips

I just spent a weekend making five slide shows with Photoshop Elements 4. I made PDF files and DVDs from all of them, and I experimented extensively. Here are some things I learned:
Making a slide show in Elements 4 is simple and reasonably intuitive, especially if you are familiar with the Organizer. If youre not familiar with the Organizer, making a slide show gives you a good opportunity to become so. Its worth it.
As with any computer task, theres a learning curve associated with making slide shows, but its a worthwhile curve to climb up. Once youre familiar with making slide shows, making new ones is easy, fun, and very productive.
Elements 4 lets you output slide shows as PDF files (.PDF) or Movie Files (.WMV).
When one of the PDF files is viewed on a computer with Adobe Viewer 7.0, the show is animated in accordance with the timing set up in Elements 4. When watching a slide show, the user can press ESC to stop the viewer from stepping through the slides. This enables navigation buttons that can be used to move from slide to slide. In this mode, Adobe Viewers Picture Tasks Menu, Select Tool, and Snapshot Tool can be used to process individual images. Some of the possible actions are selecting and copying all or part of the image, printing it, and even ordering prints online. These are excellent features, but not obvious to everyone, so you should tell your audience about them.
You can view the WMV files on Windows Media Player or whatever multimedia software you use. If you have a DVD burner and simple DVD creation software, you can easily convert the WMV files to DVDs.
There are some pros and cons of each of the three formats:
PDF can be played on any computer with Adobe viewer. Sound track can be unstable. Can't see pan & zoom. CAN copy and process individual images IF you have Adobe Viewer 7.
WMV can be played on any computer with Windows Media Player or similar. Sound track can be unstable. CAN see pan & zoom, which are excellent slide show features (try them). Can't copy images locally.
    You can make a
DVD from WMV files. It has stable audio and shows pan & zoom, but resolution is lower than the other two.
In a few hours (from 12/5/05 AM), you can download PDF versions of my slide shows from the reunions page at www.ussrankin.org. The BANQUET one has the most features.

    Louis,
I hope you are happy with the decision to go with the Sony package. I really like the flexibility of both programs.
I'd be happy to answer some questions. I changed my Adobe forum profile so that you can see my e-mail address. I'll leave it on there for a day or so.
Have you tried the Sony website and forums?

I have always found them helpful, much like this one.
I have to admit that my skills on DVD Architect Studio 3 are not as good as they are on Movie Studio 6. I cut my teeth on the first full blown version of DVD Architect [1.0]. DVD Architect Studio has so many more features and flexibility, it is amazing. The only bad thing about DVD Architect Studio that I can see is that it won't encode the audio in Dolby AC-3 format, which is the preferred format. If you use the audio defaults in the program, however, you will be fine unless you are trying to cram more than 60 minutes worth of stuff onto the DVD. Personally, I think that is bad practice anyway, because who wants to watch an hour of your slideshows!

  • Photoshop Elements 4 slide show pauses.

I must create a slide show in Photoshop Elements 4.  I want to pause and speak to my audience, between slides, for three minutes, or four minutes, or five minutes, or longer.  It seems that 'between slide transition times' are pre-determined by PSE4,, with 2 seconds, 4 seconds and up to a maximum of 120 seconds, pauses.  Is there a way that I can determine the length of the pauses?
    Yours sincerely, Cogleylane

  • Photoshop Elements 8 slide show music problem

I have Photoshop Elements 8.  I created a slideshow with music (mp3 file) but the music won't play.  the slide show works fine.

  • Photoshop Elements 10 Slide Show Audio

    (Not Premiere version)
In creating a slide show (in the Create Slide Show option out of the Organizer), after I add a mp3 audio clip for background music, I would like to adjust the volume as I do narration over the top of it.  The volume slider in the audio properties tab has no effect except for previewing the clip within the tab.  The volume during playback within the slide show remains constant.  What exactly does the volume slider do?

I realize that you said not the Premiere version.
However, I have not been able to lower the volume of the music during Narration using the Create Slide Show option of the Organizer (which is the create slide show that was previously in Photoshop Elements).
1 -- FYI - Premiere Elements does have an Audio Mixer that can be used as an easy method to adjust the volume of the music during the time periods which you choose (for example, during the narration). So that is what I have used.
2 -- Otherwise I think that you may need to use an audio editor to create your soundtrack volume adjustments and then add this "volume adjusted audio" to the Create Slide Show process.  Audacity is a free audio editor for which I have seen recommendations but I have no personal experience with it.
3 -- What will be the final output format for this slide show ?  What software will you use to create that final output ?  Perhaps the answers to these questions will identify another alternative for your audio.

  • Photoshop Elements 4 Slide Shows

This is a most excellent feature, and it didn't take me too long to figure it out and to make a nice slide show with music. One question:
Once you've got your photos in the show, how can you add another one? It looks to me like you can't do it.
It's not so hard to just start over with all your original photos plus that one more, but if you've carefully arranged your slides, it looks to me like you'll have to carefully arrange them all over again. Bummer.

To add photos to the slide show, click on the icon "Add Media", or select menu Edit > Add Media. Then choose "Photos and Videos from Organizer".

  • Photoshop Elements 11 Slide Show

I created a slide show (actually 3) with audio and saved it. Now I can't locate it. I have tried everything. I must be overlooking some setting. I thought it would appear in it's own folder. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

  • I have been unable to get Photoshop Elements 11 to show in my Open With Programs

I have been unable to get Photoshop Elements 11 to show in my Open With Programs list. The program is installed but will not show in Open With programs.

    Hi,
You don't say which operating system you are using so I'll assume Windows 7 for now - try this.
    1) select the file that you want to open
    2) right click on it and go to the Open With option but select Choose default program at the bottom of the list - the following should open
    3) At the bottom of the list, there is Other Programs, you may need to scroll down. If PSE not in the list, continue with the following.
    4) Use the Browse button to browse to the following (omit x86 if on 32bit system)
    "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 11\PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe"
I'm assuming that you want to open the image in the editor.
    5) Uncheck the Always use... option, otherwise double clicking on the file would cause the editor to open by default.
    6) Click on OK
PSE should now appear on your open with list.
    Good luck

  • Converting m4a flies to mp3 that elements 9 Slide shows can use

I downloaded a m4a audio format from iTunes and my elements 9 slide show can't read it.  What is the best solution to convert to an mp3 format that the slide show can use?  I'm running windows 7.
    Thanks

You can make an MP3 copy in iTunes.
See my instructions at the attached thread:
    http://forums.adobe.com/message/4579309?tstart=0
Don't forget to re-set your preferences afterwards.

  • Elements 9 slide show

When I add media to elements 9 slide show, some of the pictures are cropped at top and bottom.  The pics show fine in organizer.  How do I get the complete pic added to slide show?

When you select the image in slide area, the right panel shows two options- Crop to Fit or Fit to Slide. Try these options. The following screenshot shows the difference for an image when one of the two options are selected.
Let me know if that helps!

  • How can I use mp4 audio files from my iTunes library in an Elements 10 slide show?

How can I use mp4 audio files from my iTunes library in an Elements 10 slide show?

AAC is Advanced Audio Coding.  Basically it's a format that sounds better than MP3 but doesn't take up as much space as a lossless format (like you'd have on a CD).  More than likely you've had that encoding turned on when you ripped your music into itunes (it's the default encoder).  Therefore your LG phone won't play them.
You need to turn off the AAC format by going to the iTunes menu, Preferences, General (at the top), then clicking the "Import Preferences" button.  Change the AAC Encoder to MP3 Encoder.  After that you'll have to make MP3 copies of your songs by right clicking them and selecting "Create MP3 Version."  You'll get a copy of the song that should transfer to your SD card and have MP3 encoding.  Hopefully your phone will play that.

How can I edit in Elements 10 or Premier Elements 10, slide shows created in Elements 8?
    Fortunen

When you installed version 10 did you convert your previous catalog?
If so, your projects should appear in the PSE10 Organizer. To search for them type PSESS into the search box.
You should then be able to open the project by double clicking on  its thumbnail.
Then choose Output >> Edit in Premier Elements
