You can always download the trial version before paying for it.  Use it for 30 days and then buy the boxed version to activate your trial product.  You only need to insert the serial number to activate the trial version if you decide to buy the boxed version.

  • Photoshop Elements 13 and RAW files from Canon 7DMII?

I just received a Canon 7D Mark II and need some editing software that can handle it's RAW images.  I currently use Photoshop Elements 11 and really like it but the version of Camera RAW in that software cannot take the 7DMII files even though I did the Camera RAW upgrade that was available.  If I have to get more software, I would prefer to get Photoshop Elements 13 over Lightroom.  Can anybody tell me if Elements 13 has the version of Camera RAW that can accept those files?  Thanks in advance.

  • Photoshop Elements 10 and RAW files (CR2)

Hello, Elements 10 is unable to recognise RAW files from my Powershot G15 but is fine with EOS 600D. Camera RAW has been updated but no difference.
    Any help/advice?
    Regards

    Hi Paul
Its not a good idea to use 16 bit images as there is limited functionality in Elements. The files are also very large. The Adobe raw format (DNG) will give you a more efficient file size as it does not contain a jpeg preview like a CR2.
Why not give it a try by downloading and installing the free DNG converter to convert your raw files to the Adobe universal Raw format. The latest version 8.2 is fully backward compatible and the files will open in camera raw and in all versions of PSE (keep your originals as backups and for use in the camera manufactures software)
Windows download (.exe file) click here DNG Converter 8.2
Mac download (.dmg file) click here DNG Converter 8.2
You can convert a whole folder of raw images in one click. See this quick video tutorial:

  • Photoshop elements 10 kann raw-files von Canon eos 70D nicht öffnen?

gibt es ein update - und wenn ja - wann?

    Moved to the German forum.
Here is the page with the compatible versions of Camera Raw. You need 8.2 to open the files from a 70D: http://helpx.adobe.com/de/creative-suite/kb/camera-raw-plug-supported-cameras.html
but you need at least Photoshop Elements 12 to install it. http://helpx.adobe.com//x-productkb/global/camera-raw-compatible-applications.html (the german version needs an update)
If you do not intend to update Elements, you should convert the CR2 files to DNG ones that your Camera Raw version can open.

  • Total novice - canon 450d - elements 6 and raw files.

    Please help a total novice.
I bought photoshop elements 6 a few months ago ( I have an oldish laptop and was worried it wouldn't cope with newer software)
I then bought a canon 450d and started to take raw photo - elements cant read my raw files.
I can see something about plug ins but it sounds like elements 6 isnt supported or is out of date.
please help ( turned 40 this year and ability to use tech is on the slide so please be gentle!)

I got a fantastic answer to this question about a week ago, got the plugin, installed and it worked fine.

  • When Will Photoshop Elements 12 support Raw files from Nikon D3300

i have just got my Nikon d3300 and now want to edit and clean my images , but cannot find any information about when photoshop elements 12 will be able to do this , any help people.

The soon-to-be-released Camera Raw 8.4 includes support for the D3300. It's only available as a beta for Photoshop CS6 and CC at the moment.
    https://blogs.adobe.com/lightroomjournal/2014/02/camera-raw-8-4-rc-and-dng-converter-8-4-r c-now-available.html
However you can download and install the DNG 8.4 converter (also a beta version), convert your D3300 Raw files to DNGs then edit the DNGs in Elements 12
    http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/cameraraw8-4.html
"Note: Camera Raw 8.4 and DNG Converter 8.4 are no longer officially supported on the following platforms: Mac OS 10.6.x (Snow Leopard), Windows XP, Windows Vista."

  • Photoshop Elements 9 and CR2 files.

I have Photoshop Elements 9.0.3 on a Windows 7 laptop and I can't open CR2/RAW files. Is there something I can do to open CR 2/RAW files in PE9?

You need camera raw 7.3 for your camera. It is only compatible with PSE11 to 13. Alternatively, download and install the free Adobe DNG converter to convert your raw files to the Adobe universal Raw format and the files will open in all versions of PSE (keep your originals as backups and for use in the camera manufactures software)

  • Photoshop Elements 7 and RAW NEF

New member so I hope I am doing this right...
I am wanting to purchase Photoshop Elements 7. I was wondering if it would accept and adjust RAW NEF files off of a D300. Hate to find out it is not compatible after I purchase PE7.
    Thanks

  • Elements 11 and Raw file from Nikon D7100

I have newly installed Elements 11 and downloaded the updated raw plugin 7.4 but it still won't open raw files from NikonD7100.  Any other tricks?

Check that the 7.4 update installed correctly. You can do that from Expert Mode:
    Help >> About Plug-in >> Camera Raw
Note the version number. Press Esc to close the pop-up.
If that’s OK, you should note that NFE files can be compromised by using older versions of Nikon Transfer or Nikon software, that did not ship with the camera. If that’s the case, try shooting a few new NEFs and bring them straight into Elements without passing through any other programs.

  • Photoshop Elements 11 and jpeg files

I have pictures I took in jpeg before I really knew what I was doing and so when I want to open them in photoshop I can't open them to be able to fully edit them with the histogram like you can a raw file.  Any thing I can do to have more options to edit with a histogram?

You can edit a jpeg in the camera raw dialog. From the PSE Editor application click:
    File >> Open
    Navigate  to your jpeg
Then choose Camera Raw from the file format pull down list
Use the raw sliders and when done, click the Open Image button (bottom right) to send into the regular editor and re-save.

  • Photoshop Elements 11 and RAW

I have students who have just purchased Elements 11.  Do they need to update Camera RAW immediately?  I would think that a new version would be up-to-date.
Is there any way to make Windows software show thumbnails for images processed in Elements? Mac OS seems to always show thumbnails.
    Thanks for your help.
    Mary Lou

If they have a camera that is supported in the camera raw 7.1 plugin that ships with elements then i suppose not, but the latest versions
of camera raw (7.3 in pse 11) include bug fixes and support for newer cameras.
Once adobe ships a product the downloaded or store bought versions are generally the same as when the product first was released with no updates.
On windows, microsoft has a camera codec pack that can be downloaded that shows the thumbnails for camera raw files, although it hasn't been updated
for newer cameras as of yet, but for psd files one needs an third party solution to show the thumbnails in windows explorer.
    http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=26829
If they use the elements organizer, that will show the thumbnails of the file types that the organizer supports.
