Photoshop elements 11 camera raw update not compatible with my camera

my PSE11 was working fine until i bought a new camera and tried to upload photos from my RAW files. It gave me this message
"Could not complete your request because the file appears to be from a camera model which is not supported by the installed version of Camera Raw.
Please visit the Camera Raw help documentation for additional information."
so i tried to install the update.... installed it fine, kept getting the same message when i would try to open the photo. after researching online i found the suggestion of uninstalling and reinstalling photoshop elements. i did that once, tried the update again...same results. uninstalled again. tried the update again and still getting the same message. ive checked the adobe website and everywhere i look says the version of the camera raw DOES support my camera (nikon D7100). im at my wits end with this and dont know what else to do. please help!!!

So what version of Camera Raw is installed?
In PSE Editor, Help->About Plug-In->Camera Raw
And what is your operating system?

Yes, if you have PSE 11 (not the mac app store version). You will need to go to Help>Updates in the editor to update ACR to 7.3.

  • IPhone not compatible with Apple camera adapter

FYI: I tried to use the little white Apple camera adapter with my Olympis and iPhone this morning. Got the "Accessory not compatible" message.

Does it say "Not Compatible with iPhone" or "Not Made for iPhone?" Because from what I understand, some accessories that come up as "Not Made for iPhone" will still work, they just haven't been designed to specifically work with the phone.
In any event, the phone may offer to put you into Airplane Mode to avoid any kind of wireless interference but that's just a precaution, and the adapter may still work.
My iHome comes up with a message that says it's "Not Made for iPhone" but it still works with the phone.

  • Windows latest forced nVidia update not compatible with HP Firebird PC

The latest windows update is including an "Important" October 2012 update from Nvidia that is not compatible with the Firbird's graphics.      It completely trashes the graphics and will only run in the low-power hybrid mode.     I re-installed the HP driver, only to have it reset again by the Windows update and had to do it all over again.   If anyone is having this problem, make sure you disable the nVidia update.

Select Windows Control Panel, System, Advanced System Settings, Hardware, Device Installation Settings, Never install driver software from Windows Update and Save Changes.
Select Windows Update and Check for Updates.  Right-Click any Nvidia drivers and select Hide Update.

  • New update not compatible with my computer processor (PPC)

    I have a Mac G4 PPC 1.5GHZ with 1.25G Ram and Mac os 10.5.8
Used to have FireFox installed on my computer until I made the mistake to try to update the program using it's built in software update feature.
All went well until I tried to run Firefox after the install was complete. Up comes the message that the software is not compatible
    with my computers architecture.
Now the install has erased my original Firefox and i cant seem to find a version anywhere that will work on a PPC.
    Can you assist?

    For older Macs that aren't supported in Firefox 4 / 5 / 6, try TenFourFox for PowerPC's running Mac 10.4.11 & 10.5.8 . <br />

  • Camera Raw Update Not Showing Up

I have Photoshop CC, Mac, latest version and I haven't used Photoshop in a little while, but updated to the latest version of Lightroom and realized I am a version behind.  It doesn't show up in the CC app, nor does it show up in the Update link within the program.  In fact, Photoshop doesn't even show up in that list.  Is there a way to get Camera Raw to automatically update or is there a way to manually install the plugin update for Photoshop?

I installed ACR8.4 manually since it never appeared in the Cloud update mechanism.
This morning, ACR 8.4 appeared in the update mechanism - days after I expected it to show up - but it's already installed and running in CC!
This Cloud update mechanism does not fill me with confidence at all. I certainly don't rely on it for my updates.

  • Adobe Photoshop Elements 10, RAW update 6.7 EOS 5D mk3 support. (MAC OSX 10.8.2)

My system tells me that the update file failed bacuse it is not applicable (ElementsCameraRaw-6.7-mul-AdobeUpdate) - is this the correct file, if not where can i get the correct file. If it is what do i need to do to get around this problem?

Ok...from the screenshot it wasn't clear that you had downloaded the 'ElementsCameraRaw-6.7-mul-AdobeUpdate.dmg'. In your first post you did indicate you had 'ElementsCameraRaw-6.7-mul-AdobeUpdate', so I was just rying to confirm...
Sorry, I don't know more about Elements and exactly where it stores the Camera Raw plug-in, but there would be another method of extracting the Camera Raw 6.7 plug-in from the installer and copying the plug-in manually–although it's kinda complicated....if the following makes you uncormfortable, you'll need to followup with tech support to try to figure out why the AdobePatchInstaller.app is failing...some log somewhere is screwed up.
But if you want to try the manual copy method, you'll need to search for where Elements sees the plug-in your self. It should be in the root level Library/Application Support/Adobe/Plug-ins folder (I think). I think there should be a folder named CS5 or Elements? Otherwise do a finder search for 'Camera Raw.plugin' and see where it's at...
Then, mount the 'ElementsCameraRaw-6.7-mul-AdobeUpdate.dmg' and look into the folder called 'payloads'. There will be multiple subfolders, open the folder that starts: 'CameraRawForElements', inside that folder will be another .dmg starting with the name 'CameraRawForElements' with a .dmg at the end (sorry, I'm not bothering to type in all the numbers in the names).
Double-click to mount that .dmg, it'll have a weird name something like F3BA0E4781E0364E (it's kinda goofy, but this is where the goodies are)
In the .dmg there will be yet another folder named 'Assets2', open that and there will be a folder named 'universal' and inside that folder will be the 'Camera Raw.plugin'. Copy this plug-in over to the correct location inside root level Library/Application Support/Adobe/Plug-ins folder where you previously found the installed Camera Raw plug-in...before overwriting the original, you might want to copy that to the desktop in case you need to get it back for any reason.
Then, you're almost done...also inside the Assets2 folder is another subfolder named Profiles, and inside that will be CameraProfiles and another subfolder named Adobe Standard...open the 'Adobe Standard' folder and you'll see a bunch of new .dcp profiles. Since you have a Camon 5D Mark III, you'll need to copy that .dcp file back into your root level Library/Application Support/Adobe/CameraRaw/CameraProfiles/Adobe Standard folder.
This manual copying of the required files into the correct location should get Camera Raw 6.7 loaded and running in Elements 10.
However, that doesn't address why the AdobePatchInstaller.app is failing to correctly install Camera Raw 6.7. Somewhere there's something messed up with some sort of installer log and is making the AdobePatchInstaller.app "burp"...and I really don't know what to tell you about fixing that.

  • Why isn't camera raw 8.3 compatible with PSE 11?

I'm furious and want to know who to complain to. Less than one year ago I purchased PSE 11 which is what I needed for it to work with my Nikon D7100, also less than a year old. I have just purchased a Nikon D610 and it seems I need to downlaod Camera Raw 8.3 but it doesn't seem to work with PSE 11. When I check the adobe site it appears that I need PSE 12! How can this be when my software is less than one year old!! Is it adobe money grabbing again? Are there any plans to add support for RAW photos taken on the Nikon D610, which after all is only a very minor change to the Nikon D600, to PSE 11? If not why not????

Here is why (one of the most read faqs in this forum, where you don't speak to Adobe, it's a user to user forum):

  • CS4 Camera Raw Does Not Open With Lightroom 3

    Hi everybody,
    I have the following equipment:
    iMac OSX 10.7 Lion
    Photoshop CS4
    Lightroom 3.6
    Camera Raw 5.7
All SW has the latest Patch.
When I open a Canon CR2 out of PS, the Camera Raw plugin shows up and I can make my settings.
When I try to right-click from LR, the window does not open. The file is opened but no CR-plugin.
It used to work on my iMac with SnowLeopard.
    Can anybody help me?
    Thank you for your time.
    Ole

ACR should never visibly open going from LR to PS.  This is by design.
Because your LR and CS/ACR are mismatched versions, LR will have to render to a TIF on the way into PS, so there’s no ACR involved.  If you were using matched versions of LR and PS, either LR2/CS4 or LR3/CS5 (or now LR4/CS6) then ACR is called on the way into PS but without your seeing the user-interface.   The adjustments available in LR3 are “newer” than the adjustments available in CS4/ACR5 so it doesn’t even make sense you’d want to see the sliders in ACR on the way into PS, because they’d be undoing or changing something LR had done unless you mean you want to adjust the intermediate TIF file using the older ACR sliders for some reason.

  • Photoshop Elements 10 RAW update

    Hi all
Last year I bought from Apple Store Photoshop Elements version 10.0. Nowdays I have purchased two mirrorless cameras: a Nikon 1 V1 and an Olympus OMD. I'd supposed it would be straightforward to get from Adobe updated plugins for the new raw, but it seems complicated, at least for me.
Am I supposed to pay for the updates or shold they be included in the license agreement. Thanks, Gianfranco

  • Is Camera Raw 8.3 compatible with CS5? [was:≈]

    camera raw 8.3 to cs5????

CS5 is only compatible with Camera Raw up to version 6.7
    http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/camera-raw-compatible-applications.html
If you need to open Raw files from a camera which is only supported in later versions of Camera Raw then download the free Adobe DNG converter, convert the Raw files to DNGs then open the DNGs in CS5

  • Trying to update to 6.0.5 but it won't let me unless I use appstore and appstore only has later updates not compatible with my OS. Help?

I recently recorded something on my friends laptop using his Garageband. But then I was trying to transfer it to my computer and it says I need to update to 6.0.5 to be able to open the file. However when I try and update it it gives me this message "The version of GarageBand installed on this Mac must be updated through the Mac App Store. Check the Mac App Store to see if an update is available." So I went to App Store to update it but the only garageband related thing I could find there was the 10.0.2 update which was too big an update and wouldn't run with my OS anyway. How do I get the 6.0.5 update? Whould I delete Garageband and reinstall using the 6.0.5? Also my OS is 10.7.5 if that helps.

Whould I delete Garageband and reinstall using the 6.0.5? Also my OS is 10.7.5 if that helps.
That will not work. The GarageBand 6.0.5 updater from the Apple Support page is not a full installer. You will need an installer disk for GarageBand '11, for example the boxed iLife '11 disk to install a GarageBand '11 version, that can be updated with that 6.0.5 updater.
So I went to App Store to update it but the only garageband related thing I could find there was the 10.0.2 update
The AppStore should not be showing you the 10.0.2 udpdate, if your system is not compatible. Or have you upgraded to MacOS 10.9.2?

The plug-in is not working with my already installed Lightroom.
Any idea what I need to do?
