Photoshop Elements 11 deleting 3rd party fonts

Whenever we install Photoshop Elements 11 it removes 3rd party fonts from the programs. If you uninstall, they appear again! This doesn't happen with Photoshop 9.
This clearly is a Photoshop problem and not a 3rd party problem.
Does anyone know of a fix or work around for this?

I'm confused by what you mean by 'third party fonts' and 'removes from programs'.
Times New Roman, Verdana, Webdings are all standard fonts provided with  Windows. So are you saying that Windows fonts are disappearing, but only from after the letter 'S' ?
'Removes from programs' - do you mean that the fonts (from after 'S') no longer appear in other applications e.g. WordPad (the standard word processor provided with Windows)? Check it by starting WordPad and scrolling to the bottom of the fonts drop-down box.
With PSE11 installed, press the Windows key (or click Start) and type 'fonts'. Click the entry 'Fonts' that will show up in the search. Are the fonts after the letter 'S' present?

  • Delete 3rd party apps ?  HOW ?

I would like to clean up my HD and erase 3rd party apps I don't use, such as :
    Adobe Photoshop CS2
    Canon Utilities
    CoreDuoTemp
    eDrawings (.dwg file viewer)
    Google Earth
    Google SketchUp 6
    HandBrake 0.7.1
None have an uninstall program. Is there a SAFE way of deleting them ?
Dragging them to Trash and emptying the trash is safe ?
    Appreciate any tips.

    Hi
Adding to QTK's suggestion, also look in your HD>Library>Applications Support, and same location for your User Account. There you may see folders related to the apps you're looking to trash. Do the same for these folders.
Photoshop is a bit trickier. In Applications Support you'll see an Adobe folder. Inside that folder look for anything Photoshop related. If you have other Adobe apps installed in your system, let us know the name of the Adobe folders in Applications Support. Otherwise, if you trash the wrong folders you may create operation problems opening other Adobe apps.
Lastly, same Libraries - Preferences folder. Inside you'll find the preference files related to the apps you are trashing. Usually, either the app. name, or the developer name is part of the file name.
Best strategy is to back-up the HD before trashing applications, especially if you are not sure. This way, you can revert to the original state if something goes awry.

  • Deleting 3rd Party Loops... where the freak are they stored???

Yes, I know that by default, loops are stored in Library/Application Support/Garageband/Apple Loops, or the similar address under my user library.
And, I know there is another folder close by, for Jam Packs.
However, I have been going INSANE, trying to find old, single-hit files and obsolete loops which i have downloaded from 3rd party sources. They are NOT in the regular places such as the Apple loops folder.
All of them were installed by drag and drop method into the Garageband loop browser, so one would assume they all went to the same place.
How in the world do i find these loops?
The Finder and Spotlight have turned up nothing.
I have about 5,000 i'd like to trash to make room for more important things.
    Can Garageband be THIS cumbersome?

    HangTime wrote:
yes, that was telling him to not delete it by hand because, as Christoph points out above, you then need to reindex, whereas deleting it through GB takes care of that.
with 5,000, it's probably worth the reindex, deleting one at a time through GB would be ... tiring.
Actually. i like your idea of deleting from the browser. They are scattered in different categories and different folders. I'd have to search and test them anyway... so I might as well just axe them when i come upon them in the browser.
I swear I've tried it that way before, to no avail..
Thanks a lot for you help.

  • Deleting 3rd party apps

I downloaded a 3rd party world time app and got a **** app instead. I've tried everything to get rid of it, but nothing works. Does anyone know of another way to delete apps other than through iTunes?
In iTunes I can bring up the apps trays and highlight the app I want to get rid of, but no 'X' appears in the upper left corner to let me delete it.

You are signed into the account from which they were purchased?
You clicked on "Applications" under "Library"?
    You clicked on/highlighted the app?
You hit the delete key/edit delete?

  • Photoshop Elements 8 Mac - All fonts look jagged and pixely

    HI,
I have the problem that all fonts look jagged and pixely when using Photoshop Elements 8 on Mac OS X 10.6.3. I am using the right image size 300dpi and so forth. Interestingly enough this only happens in Photoshop. If I repeat the procedure in Pixelmator everything is normal.
I would really appreciate any suggestions.

Are you simplifying the font layer and then making it larger? Can you explain exactly, step by step, what you're doing?

  • Photoshop Elements 11, need working font adjustment

Newly installed Photoshop Elements 11.  The working screen needs major adjustments.  The font size is so small it causes eye strain.  Running Windows 8.  Tried adjustments within Windows 8 and problem was not resolved.  Please advise.

It should have an effect on PSE if it is changing other apps. Admittedly you will probably need to apply the native resolution when not using PSE.
I don't know what else to suggest but this is a known problem with very large monitors and some graphics cards.

  • Deleting 3rd party software

    Hello,
We want to delete a 3rd party software bolt-on that all resides in its own namespace /epiuse/.This is in our DEV,TEST and PROD systems. The original system for all objects is different to ours. How can this be done easily ?. There must be an easier and quicker way than to register each object so you can delete it.
    cheers

If the amount of storage for your Messages is not decreasing when you delete some (or all), then you need to try resetting your device to see if it will clear it up. I just went to my device and checked the amount of storage being used by Messages (13 MB). Then I deleted the 6 messages I had, and went back to check the Usage. It is now 3 MB.
To reset your device (nothing will be lost): Hold down the Home and Power buttons at the same time and continue to hold them down until the Apple appears (up to 30 seconds). Once the Slide to Unlock screen displays, check your usage again.
    Cheers,

  • How do you install and delete 3rd party plugins from Logic 9?

I have been trying to install RX2 from iZotope with no success. I can authorize it in the standalone version but not in logic.  I had a previous demo version of it installed and everytime I went to authorize it would point to the earlier version and not authorize and run in demo.  I removed a number of files pertaining to it from HD & User/ Library/ Preferences and Audio/ Components and tried reinstalling.  Now it doesn't even show up in the plugin list.  Can anyone tell me how to clear this up?  Also, how to deal with 3rd party plugins.  What can I say, no problems with Reaper!  Appreciate any help with this.  Thanks

The Isotope website isn't very clear about it.. It seems to indicate the Windows version is 32 and 64 bit where as the AU version is 32bit and will work/is compatible with Logic 64bit.. which it will as it will run under the 32 to 64bit bridge... when Logic is run in 64bit mode..but as i said, it's hard to tell one way or the other.
The thing is, if you simply reinstall it.. and then run Logic first in 32bit mode and then in 64bit mode.. it should show up.
Where are you looking for it in Logic?
Does it show up in the AU Plugin Manager? (after, that is you have reinstalled it)

What cod files did you install on the device?
    Download this application: http://www.blackberryfreaks.com/JL_Cmder.html
Extract the zip and get only javaloader.exe file.
Let's say funambol application cod file name is: funambol.cod
    In your windows press Start-Run
    Type cmd and press enter
In displayed window navigate the folder with javaloader.exe
connect your device and type the command:
    javaloader -usb erase -f funambol
    and press Enter
It will delete this cod file from the device.

  • Deleting Adobe sign in Photoshop Elements

PSE 13 is requiring I sign in to Adobe every time I start the program.  This is really aggravating and an invasion of my privacy.  It is none of Adobe's business when I am using the program.

I purchased a retail CD of PSE 13.  This was not a download.
I logged on to my Adobe ID account and PSE 13 is NOT LISTED in my list of programs.  However, when I attempted to register it (I couldn't remember if I had previously registered it) by entering the serial number I received message that it (PSE 13) was already registered!  There appears to be something wrong with the Adobe registration process and this might be why I keep getting the message to login every time I start PSE.  How can this be corrected?
Also, I noticed that your preceding email has my original Adobe login name - "D Salk".  However, when requested to login now, the login entry requires my email address and password.  This password is different than the one used with "D Salk".  I don't understand what is going on.  Over the years I have had to change my password several times because I kept getting messages that my "user name and password did not match".  It seemed like I needed different user name and password to login to different parts of the Adobe website, e.g., Adobe Support different from Adobe Forum.  I do not like the new format where my full name is associated with my account that is why I originally used D Salk.  In the current Adobe ID login process the, "My Account" option does not permit me to change my name.  Please advise if there is either some way to delete my full name or, if not, how to DELET ALL ADOBE ACCOUNTS.
The previous email I sent you showed that the Print Screen of the Login message was attached.  Maybe it did not transmit for some reason.  I am attaching it to this email again.  Check at the end of these emails.  That is where the PNG file is currently displayed on my monitor.

    Hi DSalk,
    1. The above information is fine about architecture.
    2. After downloading application when you install it on your PC then it ask for two options i.e. Run in trial and License this software. It allows you to run application for 30 days in trial mode then it ask to enter serial number. You can license PSE any time if you have serial number. When you enter serial number and register it then your application is serialized.
    3. I think, snapshot you didn't attach.
    Thanks,
    Raushan

  • Photoshop CC 2014 and 3rd party plugins

When I installed Photoshop CC2014 my 3rd party plugins didn't port over. Do I have to reinstall them?

Petermclennan considering Photoshop CC 2014 is a new version of Photoshop you will need to reinstall your third-party plug ins.

  • Photoshop Elements 6:   Could not use type tool because the file could not be found

Using Adobe Photoshop Elements 6.0 well for a while.
Tried to use the Type Tool to overlay text and obtained this error:
Could not use the type tool because the file could not be found
After research, I reset all tools, tried to repair (failed: insert disc one), and then removed/re-installed.  Still have the same problem.
Are the system fonts corrupt or is an Adobe .ini file suspect?
Other reports have suggested using a 3rd-party font manager to inspect/disable fonts.
First wanted to post this error here for feedback/recommendations
Any suggestion on how to recover the Type Tool functionality?

    Adobe Photoshop Elements Repair Workaround
When trying to repair the well-known:  insert disc one, error occurred.  Was able to successfully repair the installation by dragging the entire Adobe Photoshop Elements directory from the original CD-ROM onto a hard drive and executing locally.  Seems it does not like repairing over the CD-ROM but it works correctly if the install source is on disc...

    John,
Yesterday, I decided to completely remove all Adobe products:  PSE 6, Premiere 4, Reader, ActiveX plugins & legacy/old uninstalled product directories that Adobe has left turd-lets around including old Acrobat 3/6 directories.  Used A/D Software to remove all adobe products and then followed your instructions AND the instructions on Adobe's support web site to manually remove these products.
It boiled down to manually removing the entire Adobe directory in Progam Files, "saving" the entire Adobe directory structure in each users (3) Document and Settings in the Application Data and Local Settings (as instructed by you and Adobe) and rebooting.
I also saved the local All Users "configuration" database/cache that contained the Tag and other information to make sure the system was clean
This included following the manual Regit instructions to remove legacy Adobe registry hives.  I deleted all keys for all Adobe product trees that I could locate (following instructions from Adobe).
    Reboot
Scheduled a CHCKDSK on all drives and rebooted
Dragged my complete image library to an archive location and deleted them on the C: drive
    Did a complete system Defrag
Re-installed Adobe and alas still have the same problem with the Type Tool....
The only thing I did not do was selectively remove the "fonts" because various instructions seemed to indicate many are "required" by the windows or other applications and I was not really sure how to identify which ones were safe to remove w/o affecting the core system..  I'll have to re-read these instructions next.
Microsoft has a "Font Validator" tool, but that only checks 1 font at a time and you have to read the "results".  May look for other tools.
Will be able to check the font structure this weekend since it will take some research before I'm comfortable just removing fonts in trial/error mode.  I'll need to make a backup image of my computer before I start this (just in case).
    Thanks for follow-ups too!

  • Font drop down menu won't stay open in Photoshop Elements 8

I have Photoshop Elements 8. Up until today it worked just fine. I have been trying to change the font type using the drop down menu of course. Every time I click on the drop down menu it tries to open, but will not stay open to make the change. The menu just flickers in the attempt to open it up.
I have reset the tool, deleted any preferences at start up using the Ctrl+Alt+sSiht keys and no help.
I am using a Windows 7 64bit system. Like I said, this hasn’t happen before. Now that I think about it, sometimes when a menu box is open it will disappear behind the main window and I need to find it again by toggling the window, this will make the change menu to reappear. But still no font drop down menu.
    Anybody have any help?

If photodrawken's suggestion doesn't make any difference, which was my first thought on the problem, here are a couple of other suggestions.
You might have a bad font. Have you installed any fonts or programs that might have put in new fonts recently?
In pse 8 under Edit>Preferences>Type uncheck Font Preview Size and see if that makes a difference.
Also this lists a fix for missing scroll bars in pse 8 and even though that's not your exact problem it would be worth a try:

    Added:
Do you have any third party plugins installed for pse8?
