Adobe Reader Update for MacBook Pro with Retina Display
I recently purchased the new MacBook Pro with Retina Display and noticed when I downloaded Adobe Reader that it had not yet been updated to support the new Retina Display. If I remember correctly, it was announced that Adobe Photshop has been updated to support the new display. Will there also be an update for Reader any time soon?
Hi,
Reader and Acrobat XI will support Retina display for both the user interface and document rendering with the September update.
For now, the UI is Retina capable but the document content is still rendered at a lower resolution.
Few more weeks to go

What exactly does the AppleCare cover for MacBook Pro with Retina Display?
I purchased the extended protection plan for my MacBook Pro with Retina Display 15" and my question is what exactly does it cover in what kind of situations (i.e. viruses, damaged ports, damaged charger, etc.)? I want to be able to take full advantage of the protection plan since it was a pretty big whole in my wallet.
AppleCare covers all the problems you have with your MacBook Pro with Retina display and the peripherals which came with it (your charger) if you have a hardware problem that you didn't cause. For example, after 2 or 3 years and 1000 charges, OS X says that your battery has to be replaced: in this case, you have to pay for the battery, because batteries have got a lifetime, and Unibody Macs batteries have got an average lifetime of about 1000 charges.
However, if the RAM gets damaged and you haven't done anything to cause it, you will get your computer repaired or replaced for free. AppleCare in a MacBook Pro with Retina display is very important, because near all the parts are soldered into the logic board and repairs are expensive -
Apple care protection plan for macbook pro with retina display
hi!!! i recently purchased macbook pro with retina display. Im curious about the apple care protection plan to extend the warranty of my macbook. I would just like to ask if the apple care protection plan includes battery replacement w/in the next 2 yrs?
it is like car insurance. You purchase it hoping to never need it. But thank your lucky stars for having it after the sheet metal goes CRUNCH!
BTW, AC needs to be activated while the base warranty is in effect. This means you can wait till the last month or so and avoid having to plonk all the cash up front. -
Microsoft LifeCam VX-7000 driver for MacBook Pro with retina display
Microsoft LifeCam VX-7000 driver for MacBook Pro with retina display
I see a mention of Google Chrome and VirtualBox in your log. Stop using those and see if the situation changes? From what we know so far, the problem is a software one (Apple's fault), not a hardware problem. Mountain Lion is supposed to fix the issue, which should be out in about a week. So you could wait til then, upgrade to ML, and see if its still crashing or not.

Speck See-Thru case for MacBook Pro with Retina Display 15 inch
Hi, I recently purchased the Speck See-Thru case for the MacBook Pro Retina. The case seems to fit very snugly and requires some degree of force to remove. The top half of the case proves to be more difficult than the bottom half. Is it normal that it takes some force to pop off the tabs of the case? I am probably over worrying but just want to make sure. Thanks
I have a Speck see-thru for mine and yes, they fit quite snugly. Probably to prevent a "rattling" feeling that would feel even worse. As time goes by and you inevitably have to take it off every so often to clean underneath, the snugness goes away.
Yes, in spite your best efforts, dust somehow finds its way in there and gathers in the corners which soon becomes unbearable and off it has to come. Guess that's the downside of transparency. Maybe next time I'll get an opaque black model.... -
Joystick for MacBook Pro with retina display
Does anyone have a recommended joystick for the MBP Retina display to use with action games like Call of Duty4?
Any external CD/DVD drive will work with the MBP, Retina or other, so there is no need to spend all that money on the Apple USB Superdrvie when something like this will work and more then like work better then the Superdrive. One reason is it is a Tray loading drive.

How to fix resolution problem in Photoshop CC for Macbook Pro w/ Retina Display
I design email promotions for my website in Photoshop CC on a new Macbook w/ retina screen. However, document sizes appear much smaller in my Macbook than they did on my windows laptop. A 700px wide document now appears to be 350px wide.
When I designed the email graphics, upload, and then view in a browser, everything is pixelated. The document/graphic is still 700px, but its pixelated in the browser. After some Googling, I have a better understanding of the problem but not a complete understanding. Its all so technical. I've read that some designers choose to create their graphics with another lower resolution monitor connected to their Macbook (if I explained that correctly)... not an option for me, though, unfortunately.
How can I fix this problem? I basically design for the web so its important that these graphics are at their highest resolution when viewed on a web browser. Any solutions? Help! I will try everything in my power.First of all, thank you so much for taking the time to try to help out. It
is much appreciated.
The two things that first come to mind are: I have many friends in the
industry who paint solely in Photoshop and do just fine. My computer is
technically "old," but the specs are still just fine—even the graphics card
is the exact same one that is in the new Cintiq Companions (the all-in-one
computer/cintiq machines).
And, more so, I was painting on it for a few weeks without noticing
anything. A part of me wonders, did I just not notice it until it became
dramatically worse?
I do remember painting fur, which requires making tons of small brush
strokes over an extended period of time, and I don't remember there being
any lag.
By the way, I forgot to mention: I've even tried going into the Performance
preferences and disabling the graphics card altogether. No luck. Still an
issue.
As far as painting at 100%: I do notice an amount of improvement. The one
brush stamp, or space, whatever you call it, issue only happened on the
first brush stroke (every time) and then just once otherwise. The lag was
tremendous—and I compared it to Painter's performance, which had no issues
whatsoever.
I am really hoping to be able to rely on Photoshop more and more, as its
tools for other aspects of image manipulation are far more robust than
Painter's. And the working compatibility with Adobe InDesign, Flash, and
Adobe Media Encoder are sooooooo useful for speeding up the workflow.
Hopefully we can find out what's going wrong.
I'm truly baffled on this one.

Does Adobe Photoshop Elements work with MacBook Pro with Retina display?
Does Adobe Photoshop Elements work with MacBook Pro with Retina display, please?
Have searched Adobe website for answer - most recent is 2013 answer, saying no.
Contradicted by a staff ember who only referred to Photoshop, not Elements.
Reason I need it is that iPhoto does not support very high resolution photos - which I have now scanned onto my MacBook and do not want to re-scan!! After 90 minutes at my local Genius bar (lovely folk, very conscientiously searching for an answer...), re-scanning was their final piece of advice.
Help, please...Hello Smis,
Welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience! To help you get the most out of the HP Forums I would like to direct your attention to the HP Forums Guide First Time Here? Learn How to Post and More.
I understand you are having issues with your HP Monitor on your MAC. I am providing you with an HP Support document: Updating a Monitor Driver, where it states under the sub-heading Using HP monitors on a Mac "HP monitors are not supported in a Mac environment. However, newer Macs use graphics with VESA modes and can display to most HP LCD monitors. To do this, connect the monitor to the Mac while the Mac is off, and then turn on the MAC. The monitor should operate at 60Hz. The INF and software for the HP monitor are for Microsoft Windows and cannot be run in a standard MAC OS environment."
This being said all I can advise is that you check to see that the monitor is set to operat at 60Hz and contact Apple for assistance if that does not get your monitor displaying correctly.
I hope I have answered your question to your satisfaction. Thank you for posting on the HP Forums. Have a great day!
Please click the "Thumbs Up" on the bottom right of this post to say thank you if you appreciate the support I provide!

Will elements 11 work with Macbook Pro with Retina Display?
I am thinking of buying a Macbook Pro with Retina Display.
I am wondering if Photoshop Elements 11 will work OK with this as I have heard there is a problem. Any suggestions of how to make them compatible would be appreciated. I really don't need anything more complicated than elements for what I do so don't want to spend out on one of the CS programmes.
ThanksYes, it will work like any other program that isn't optimized for the display (in other words, okay, but not as well as if it had been).

I plan to buy and use a MacBook Pro with Retina display and I already own and use the PS CS 5 on my PC window-based. How can I obtain a copy of CS 5 for my MacBook Pro?
Message was edited by: CHARNCHAN. That is without having to buy another copy for the Mac!Not sure why you'd want CS5 for your new Mac with Retina display.
Retina support was first added to Photoshop in CS6 version 13.0.3
http://blogs.adobe.com/jkost/2013/01/retina-display-support-and-photoshop-cs6.html
So, assuming you own standalone Photoshop CS5 (and you're running at least Windows 7 on your PC) then your best option - for optimal display on your Mac - might be to subscribe to the Photoshop Photography Program for $9.99/month
https://creative.adobe.com/plans/offer/photoshop+lightroom?sdid=KIHZP
Then you'll get Photoshop CC + Lightroom 5 + extras and you can run them both on your Mac and Windows (2 installs permitted regardless of operating system) for the same $9.99 monthly fee.
If you don't want to subscribe then your other option would be to buy a separate CS6 license for Mac (paying full price). -
hi, recently i bought macbook pro with retina display and installed windows 8 professional original software also. but in windows 8 track pad/ TOUCHPAD is not working properly. can you help me with providing drivers for trackpad to work on windows 8 professional .
Did you download and install the Windows Support software? If you did, did you use the Boot Camp Control icon to set up the trackpad how you want it?

Reason for blurring of text in MacBook Pro with retina display?
I was in an Apple store recently and examined a 15-inch MacBook Pro with Retina display.
I noticed that when I expanded the size of the text (using the touchpad) on the Apple web page on the screen that there was a brief blur in the appearance of the text before the text looked sharp again at the larger size.
I asked an Apple person at the store why this occurred. He claimed that the brief blurring of the text that I saw when I expanded its size was due to my eyes adjusting to the rapid change in text size.
The answer appeared ridiculous to me. I have a 17-inch MacBook Pro about 5 years old as well as an iPad 2 and iPad mini. On none of these machines have I seen the temporary blurring of the text appearance when increasing its size.
Is there an inherent problem with retina displays that causes this problem?
Thanks for your helpNah, it was due to the image zoom being processed off the server for the Apple website and the likely clogged connection wifi speeds off the local router in that specific Apple store.
most websites are not designed for retina level viewing either
Ive done zoom in on a Retina here at the house with 30MB down speeds and never had a blurring unless it was coming off a jammed up server from a specific website that was slow. -
Photoshop CC on my Macbook Pro with Retina Display - 3d greyed out
I have a 2.7 GHZ intel core i7 macbook pro with Retina display. 1024 mb of VRAM. Video cards: Intel HD Graphics 4000 (Built in) and NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M (PCIe). 16GB of RAM on the computer.
My 3D menu and panel in Photoshop CC is greyed out. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Photoshop and I'm still having the problem. Can anyone else offer a suggestion as to why this might be happening?
Thanks!
JonathanPS does not like two dissimilar gpu's. Try disabling the Intel the check the gpu setting in preferences/performance.

What MacBook Pro with Retina Display is recommended for college students?
I'm trying to decide which MacBook Pro with Retina Display to buy before I go off to college. I want to get the 2.6 GHz, 16 GB of RAM, and just the 512 GB of Flash. But I don't know which one is better for a business major. The 2.6 GHz Pro with Retina, or the 2.3 GHz Retina. My concers are the space, and this computer is suppossed to last me 4 years.
I'm a college student as well and I'm going to be a sophomore engineering major. I'm currently sitting on a 2007 white MacBook. Yes, it is from the stone age. However, over 5 years, I have only used 280 GB of space. I'm going to order a 2.7GHz, 16GB, 512 SSD R-MBP this weekend, in the hopes that this, too will last me about 5 years. Honestly, if you have the money to drop, I would buy the fastest possible configuration, 16GB ram, and a 512 SSD so that you can comfortably use your computer for another 4-5 years. My white MacBook served quite well for 5 years. The thing about newer technology is that it may last longer. A Core2Duo processor from 07 is nothing compared to Ivy Bridge now. So I would max out the configuration if I were you. By 2017, Intel is going to be making processors that will make this R-MBP look like crap, so consider "future-proofing" your computer for the long run.
