Photoshop Elements 11: Guided Low Key Tool Problem
I have been having trouble for some time now with the low key tool under the guided menu of my PSE11. When I click the "low key" button, the effect takes place in the image as it should. Then I click the "reduce effect" button but when I click on the area of the image where I want to reduce the effect nothing happens. I have restarted the program, restarted my computer, shut down my computer, and uninstalled / reinstalled the program. Nothing has worked. HELP!
Did you get the problem solved? Im having the same trouble.

Hello, I only had Adobe Photoshop for about 2 months now. I have been using the Low Key tool in guided alot. Here recently I went to edit a photo and my reduce effect button tool will not work. I tried everything from restarting my computer and the program. I love using this tool but I can not get the reduce effect to work. Need HELP Thank You
See if resetting the pse 12 editor preferences solves the issue.
In the photoshop elements (Edit)>Preferences>General click on Reset Preferences on next launch and then restart the pse 12 editor. -

I don't understand what you mean about the white line, but many tools in PSE are actually groups of tools. The blur tool shares a slot with the sharpen tool and the Smudge tool. Click hold on the one that's visible for a popout menu, or keep tapping the R key till the blur tool comes into view.

my brushes won't work - they stay attached to the cursor and won't stay on the photo. I have Photoshop Elements 13 and have had varous problems since installation. Anyone have any ideas re my 'brushes'?

I have Photoshop CS6 installed on my pc? Can I install Trial version of Photoshop Elements 13 on same pc without problems. I would like to try it myself first as I intend buying it as a present for someone. Thanks.
Matt59 yes you can install Photoshop Elements 13 separately. The evaluation process is software title specific.

Adobe Photoshop Elements 12: dropdown boxes for tools not working properly in Win 8.1
Elements 12 system requirements are indicated up to Windows 8. Does that mean it should also work on any Windows 8 upgrades, more specifically 8.1? The drop-down boxes for the tools are not working properly in the program. I've installed it, uninstalled it, and installed it again with the same results. It worked fine on my old computer with Vista.
Yes PSE12 will work on 8.1
If problems persist try re-setting the prefs.
Go to: Edit >> Preferences >> General (Photoshop Elements menu on Mac)
Click the button Reset Preferences on next Launch -
Photoshop Elements 12 and Lightroom transfer/sharing problem
I'm new to Adobe Lightroom 5 and Photoshop Elements 12. I open a Lightroom image in Photoshop Elements 12 by using Photo-->Edit In--> PSE12. I make a change in PSE12, and then "save." I understand that I'm supposed to overwrite the default file name. But, when I go back to LR, my PSE changes are not saved. What am I doing wrong?
I have LR 5 and PSE 12 and the interaction works fine for me. When I select the Edit in PSE option in LR, a TIFF file is created in LR, which is then being opened in PSE. Once done with editing in PSE, I choose Save, which brings me the overwrite file dialog and the TIFF file save settings dialog (compression, etc.) afterwards. Once saved, the TIFF is visible in LR with the changes.
Here's a question - when you open the TIFF file you just saved from PSE in PSE again, do you see the changes ? If not, the problem is in PSE not saving the changes correctly.
If you do, the problem is with the file not being shown properly in LR. Check the file structure in an external tool (Windows explorer or Finder). Do you see the TIFF file ? Is there only one or perhaps some others with the beginning of the file name ? What is the file save date on the TIFF(s) ? That might give a clue as to what can be wrong with the process. -
PHOTOSHOP ELEMENTS 10 USING CANON 7D IMAGE PROBLEMS - HELP PLEASE
I AM HAVING PROBLEMS WITH ELEMENTS 10 AND IMAGES FROM MY CANON 7D WHEN I DOWNLOAD TO SONY LAPTOP ON WINDOWS VISTA. I have had the 7d for 4 years or more.
The images downloaded before from the 7d, we're ok and still look ok, it is only in the past month this has happened and it is not with every image it is intermittent. Some are clear then others on the same shoot have the problem. It is even more exaggerated when printed.
I have tried Zoom browser and it is less evident on there but still shows.
I am shooting both with Raw & Jpeg and I think it shows in both.
Being a mean Scotsman I grudge having paid for Photoshop Elements and not getting the good of it.
I have tried Adobe on line but no luck and they ask me to pay for an annual contract before they will give me technical support, which is about £100.
I appreciate your assistance and any further help.

Adobe Photoshop Elements 2 and 'Save for Web' problem
Hi everyone,
I have used Photoshop Elements 2 for some time with absolutely no problems. However when I try to use the save for the web option I get an 'export could not be completed due to a program error' message.
Nothing relevant is mentioned on Adobe's support site. After having gone through the usual 9 troubleshooting procedure I suspect that there is a problem with the 'Save for Web EL' plugin located in the PE 2 plugins folder. Has anyone else experienced this? Is there a way I can somehow find a functional plugin?

PowerBook G4 DVI 667 Mac OS 9.2.xI don't use Photoshop elements myself, but from Photoshop CS it works fine. I use JPG compression and optimization. First of all - make sure the file format extensions are all available. Applications/adobe/photoshop elements/file formats AND ALSO Applications/adobe/photoshop elements/photoshop elements only/file formats (here I am assuming the paths are the same or similar to Photoshop). Also, check the extensions disabled folder (Control click on Photoshop and go to package contents). If it's none of these, I suggest you check the settings in Elements when trying to save and make sure you are not using an option that conflicts.
Also, check the Adobe forum. http://www.adobeforums.com
Check for software upgrades also.
You do have enough hard drive space and RAM I assume. If you are using PS Elements and virtual memory is on, you may not have enough phsyical space to save the file (but not likely)
P.S. I see (after i wrote) that you are running 9.2.2 - so the paths will not be the same as if it was on OS X - but they will be similar. -
Photoshop Elements 12 and windows 8.1 problems
Hi folks...I purchased a new Dell Computer with Windows 8.1 and had added the Adobe Photoshop Elements 12 to the system Upon activation, the Photoshop program worked for 2 days, then I received a message that said "Photoshop Element 12 Editor has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available." Adobe Customer Service referred me to the forum, indicating that they cannot address problems with Adobe Elements 12. Can someone here help?

Photoshop Elements 12: Windows Leicense Key on secondary Mac
I've purchased Photoshop Elements 12 from the officially Adobe Web Page. I could only select Windows or Mac Amazon is selling a Windows/Mac Version for the same Price as Adobe. Now I want to use Photoshop Elements as permitted in the License Agreement on a secondary device, which is an MacBook Air.
Apparently, the Windows License Key is not accepted during the Installation Phase.
How can I get the secondary Installation running on the Mac?

ThomasOn the other Hand Adobe explicitly allows a second Installation on another Computer with the same license. No word abot having the same Operation System. And when you look to Amazon, their offer both, 12 and 13 as a Win/Mac Combo License - but Adobe doesn't. That's Stange, isn't it?

Photoshop Elements 10: Guided Edit options missing.
My Full Edit is working just fine...however, when I click on Quick or Guided Edit, the options for editing are all missing.
(These are the edits that come up on the right hand side.) I don't know if I clicked on something to make them go away...but
I have tried clicking on, "Reset Panel" a few times thinking that might work...but nothing has changed. Any idea on how to get

When trying to install Photoshop Elements 12 - error message "Key could not be opened"
Error message is in German as I live in Austria.
I have tried a lot of time to install a recently bought packagee "Photoshop Elements 12 & Premiere Elements 12" - but without success. When istalling PSE 12 I always receive the following error message (text in German):
Installation stoped and then ran back to zero - so after all no changes were made.
However, what can I do that this error doesn´t occur anymore?
Any suggestions would be appreciated very much!

Photoshop crashes when using liquify & other tools, problems saving as well
Hello
I know others have posted re problems with Photoshop & liquify crashing but answers seem to be specific to computer spec etc. I use Photoshop CS6 and Windows 7.
I have tried changing the 'performance' preferences and on one occasion I got the liquify to actually work but when I tried to save it, it crashed. I need to use liquify for a certain project and I don't know what to do now!!
Any advice would really be appreciated.

Installed TWAIN devices: NONEStep 1. Hold down the Alt + Ctrl + Shift keys as you click on the icon to open ps. When asked if you want to delete the settings file, say yes.
Step 2. Reset the preferences as above.
Step 3. Close ps and let the file regenerate. -
Does Photoshop Elements have a live trace tool like Illustrator?
I use Illustrator at school but annoyingly only have Elements at home, and six weeks of school holidays in which I need to use the Live Trace tool... Does anyone know where the equivilent tool would be in either Elements or Photoshop, or if one even exists?
It doesn't exist in PSE (or any image editing program). Tracing is a feature of vector editing programs because it creates vector shape(s).
