Do you have a redemption code? Adobe no longer sells PSE 11, hasn't for several months. If you have a code, try the link on this page:

    Hi Prabhuram and falez,
This issue appears where there are any inconsistencies in your catalog (generally for video files). This issue may be due to offline files, missing files, video scenes. The recommendation here would be to fix these inconsistencies and try again. If that doesn't solve the issue, please follow steps mentioned in email by me.

I have now downloaded all the pictures in my camera directly into PSE Organiser. The pictures are all in folders listed by date the pictures were taken. Are they now safely housed in the PSE program?
PSE does not contain your photos. The photos are on your hard disk(s) somewhere, wherever they were put when they were moved from the camera to the hard disk (might be the default location chosen by PSE).
Can I delete the old Canon programs, which are still sitting on my Mac?
    Yes
And if I want to back up on an external hard-drive, how do I do that? Just drag the whole lot across?
Your interest in making backups is to be commended.
There are many ways to make backups, including the way you just suggested. You can also create a backup using PSE (which I recommend) since it includes the photos and the very important catalog file. In PSE, File->Backup Catalog, and set the destination of the backup to your external HD. Remember to do this regularly.
Sometimes when I've used 'Smart Fix" or other tools in the Photo Fix toolbox, I'm not happy with the result. But how can I 'undo' a fix and revert to how it was before?
PSE should create a version set when you do any editing, including the Smart Fix. Thus, you just need to expand the version set (right-click on the photo) to see both the original and the Smart Fix. Then you can delete the Smart Fix version.
-- I want to create an album "Europe 2012", and within it categories for UK, France, Italy etc. But although I hit 'create album category' when Europe 2012 is highlighted, the category just attaches to the last listed album - something completely unrelated. How do I ensure categories are within the correct albums?
I'm going to strongly recommend you don't do this via albums (unless your intent is to share the contents of the albums online somehow, in which case use Albums). I recommend you use tags instead of albums for this purpose. You can create a tag called Europe under Places, and another tag under Europe called France. I would also recommend you not bother including year or other calendar information in the tag (or album) names. You want "Europe" as your tag, not "Europe 2012". Why? Because you can always segregate by year (or other calendar time period) using the PSE Timeline; there's no need to do extra work to segregate the tags by year (or other calendar time period).

  • Photoshop Elements Help | Install Photoshop Elements from a disk

This question was posted in response to the following article: http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop-elements/getting-started/install-pse.html

When I start Photoshop Elements 11, I get a dialog with Organizer on the left and Photo Editor on the right. What happens when you click Photo Editor? It might take a few moments, but it should open the editor.
Another idea: Right click (control-click on Mac) on an image file and say Open With > Photoshop Elements
    Hope this helps,

This question was posted in response to the following article: http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop-elements/topics/getting-started-tutorials.html

Do you mean photo mkail or attachments? I’ve found it usually works best with web mail via Adobe after obtaining verification. I know some email services block bulk email completely and I’ve only tested it with Gmail which works fine. Should also work with other web mail e.g. Yahoo and Hotmail. Before you start it will help to check your internet security settings. If they are set to High, reduce the settings to Medium temporarily. Then follow these instructions.
    1. Log in to your mail provider on the web and add the following email to your address/contacts book.
    [email protected]
    2. Open Organizer and on the menu click:
    Edit >> Preferences >> Sharing
    3. Choose Adobe Email Service from the client dropdown menu.
    4. Add your name and email address to the fields provided and click OK
    5. Test the system (first use only)  by selecting a photo in organizer and choosing Share >> Photo Mail then click Next (Mac users should use attachments)
    6. Choose a contact then click  Next
    7. Click Next Step, then click Next - the sender verification dialog will open.
    8. Check you have spelt your email address correctly and hit the Resend E-Mail button.
    9. Go to your inbox (also check spam) and when the Adobe mailer message is received copy (Ctrl+C) the long verification code.
    10. Return to the verification dialog and paste it (Ctrl+V) into the Sender verification field and click OK. Wait for validation confirmation then click OK to continue

  • Photoshop Elements Help

Hi.  I just downloaded the Photoshop Elements 11 trial version.  I found the help drop-down box not to be so helpful.  And the tutorial drop-down gave me an error message.  Does anyone know if the boxed DVD version comes of Elements comes with an instruction manual?
    Thanks much,
    Chris

There is no printed manual, but you can download the full pdf version:

  • How do I remove Photoshop Elements help files?

    Greetings,
I removed Photoshop Elements 9, but the help files are still in Adobe Community Help 3.5.0.23. How do I remove the PSE9 files from Community Help?
    I'm using Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64-bit.
    Thanks,
    Shane.

Thanks. Tried the FAQ before posting.  Perhaps you are better at wording a query; my attempts were unsuccessful. Am using the 30 day trial to see if I wish to purchase PE as the Oranizer function is my primary interest. Still would greatly appreciate some guideance so that I might proceed with importing contents of my HD as part my trial.

  • Photoshop Elements Help | Add a watermark to photos

This question was posted in response to the following article: http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop-elements/getting-started/add-watermark-photos.html

Go to Image>resize>image size. You can ascertain the resolution in this dialog.
For web work, 72 px/in is ok. For printing, 240-300px/in is the recommended range, although I have printed below 240 with good result.
Try resampling  copies of a few of the picture files  to see how they look., then batch process the watermark.
Unless you have a very large number of files that are candidates for the watermark, a brush is the way to go in my opinion. You can apply the watermark with a simple left click, place it where you want, use the font color of choice, and enlarge or reduce the watermark size readilty with the bracket keys on the keyboard, as with any brush. And the brush is there to use again on subsequent sessions!

  • Photoshop Elements Help | Using tools to make selections

This question was posted in response to the following article: http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop-elements/using/making-selections.html

I'm trying to make a straight-edged rectangular selection with the Polygonal Lasso tool and I end up with an oval.  Feathering is at 0.  In Refine Edge everything is set to 0, and I've played around with the View Mode and Define Radius tool, neither of which I understand, but I keep getting an oval.
How do I get straight edges which, gee, I thought this tool was supposed to do and which it's done the past 4 years I've been using it, until now.  And what it does - make an oval - why would anyone want that?

When I ;type in the serial #, it says not correct

    Hi Jane Glenn,
As CS 6 was never tested on any of the latest versions, there could be an issue with compatibility of the OS and the software that you are using.

  • Photoshop Elements Help | Processing camera raw image files

This question was posted in response to the following article: http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop-elements/using/processing-camera-raw-image-files.html

    gegjr wrote:
When I selected "Save Image" there is an option to select the size of the JPEG preview. Is there anyway to extract the JPEG and does the JPEG contain the adjustments that were made to the Raw image?
The "Save image" command just saves (really converts) the original raw into another raw format : the DNG format created by Adobe to get a universal raw format instead of a specific raw format for each camera in the range of each camera manufacters... Using that feature is your choice.
And what you see in the bottom line : 8 bits or 16 bits has nothing to do with a preview, it is the choice of 'color depth' for the image the converters sends to the editor.
So, your choice is either :
    - to click 'Done' which saves the settings of your conversion (white balance, exposure, clarity...) to a very small 'sidecar' file of the xmp type
    - to 'Open' in the editor where you can work with all features of the editor (which include saving the output file in any format - jpeg - psd - tiff - png...
