Photoshop Elements 11 Install on Mac

I can not install Photoshop Elements 11. The install keeps quitting with errors on my iMac running 10.8.2 after repeated downloads directly from Adobe web site.

Inserted disk. Got this as before.
Clicked on Adobe PSE 11, got this.
Clicked on the red "Install" got this.
I thought "Woo Hoo" I'd never gotten this far. Clicked on the big red "A box". Then got the too familiar....
Sadly I'm getting very, very close to giving up. Any other ideas. And I was saving this question for when we finally succeeded but I've got to ask now. If it had been a matter of a bad font do you have any idea of why that would cause the install program to crash? That part of this totally baffles me. But then I know just enough to be dangerous in some of these situations. Thanks again and hopefully you have some other ideas of what's going on. I hope, I hope, I hope. That's it for the night for me. I've had as much "fun" with this today as I can put up with. Thanks and have a great evening.

Yes you can store images on an external hard dive and have them referenced in Organizer. It’s best to export copies to separate folders/subfolders and that will ensure iPhoto does not get corrupted.
Alternatively you could continue to use iPhoto with the Elements Editor set up in the iPhoto prefs as your external editing app. Then there is no need to use Organizer and no need to duplicate your images.
You can then call up photos directly from iPhoto as normal with the additional option e.g.
Double-click on a thumbnail to edit in iPhoto editor.
Control (right) - click on a thumbnail to edit in the elements app.

Hi, I have Adobe Photoshop Elements 11 for Mac OS X. My system currently is

I tried to install from the disc, but jumped out error that I can not continue with the installation. I also tried the trial version, the same error. ADOBE SUPPORT ADVISOR tool, which reports:
"Inspection could not identify any issues. Please contact Adobe Support for further assistance."

Can't install Photoshop Elements 10 for Mac: Exit Code 7

I recently purchased and downloaded Photoshop Elements 10 for Mac (my OS is 10.6.8); when I try to install, I receive the error pasted below. I have tried the fixes posted on the following pages and none have worked. Any ideas?

Loading .gif animations into Photoshop Elements 8 for Mac

For years I used Photoshop Elements 2 for Windows to make .gif animations with great success.
Then I switched to a Mac and bought Elements 8 for Mac. Now, I am finding out that I can not load any
of the animations I made using Elements 2 into 8. (And yet I can load animations I made using 8 into 2.)
In fact, I can not load any .gif animations into 8, other than if I make one and save it
as .psd. 8 allows me to make them, but not load them as .gifs.
My question: Is there an easy way to load .gif animations into PS Elements 8 so a
person can work on the individual frames? Am I going to have to convert any .gif animation I
want to import into 8 first into .psd? All I seem to get when I try to load a .gif is the message
"This is an animated gif. You can only view one frame." I have searched manuals and the
Net looking for a specific method of using PSE8 to load gif animations intact (not just one frame).
Is it possible? Thanks. (I also have noticed that Elements 8 will not allow me to change the frame
speed -- it is unchangeable at .2)

I installed PE9 for Windows and converted my catalog. I then backed up that catalog to an external hard drive. I then connected the hard drive to my MAC on which I also installed Photoshop Elements 9 for MAC. I opened the Organizer and tried to restore that converted catalog. However, for each file in the converted catalog, a dialog box opened that said "Could not restore file: /Volumes/Name of External Hard Drive/Filename.JPG."
I then made a second backup of the converted catalog using Photoshop Elements 9 for Windows and then tried to restore that catalog again on the MAC using Photoshop Elements 9 for MAC, again to no avail.
Do you have any idea what the problem may be?

Unfortunately, adobe doesn't have photoshop elements 6 available for download, as far as i know, so your best bet is to either get an usb dvd drive or use an computer with a dvd drive and copy the contents of the pse 6 dvd to somethiing like
a flash drive and then copy the contents from that drive to your new computer.
Do you still have your older mac and it has a dvd drive?
You can share files between the two using airdrop or an ethernet cable.

I answered my own question: There's a difference between "download' and "install." Hunt for "install" (1.5 hrs in my case) and line up your passwords, Adobe ID, etc, then install. Took 15 min. The right choice shows up in Applications. Now it's on to figuring out why photo selected for edit in iPhoto does not show up on screen in Elements.

Importing Albums into Photoshop Elements 8 for MAC

Has anyone had experience in importing a series of Albums - created in Photoshop Elements (6) for Windows - into Photoshop Elements 8 for MAC? I have thousands of photos, arranged into separate Albums, that were created in Photoshop Elements for Windows and which were backed up onto an external harddrive, that I want to move into Photoshop Elements 8 for MAC. I have an old version of Photoshop Elements (8) for Mac. I have installed this version 8 on a iMac and a Macbook.
Can I install version 13 (the 1 license version) also on my iMac and Macbook and use it alternate?

Barbara, thanks for your reaction, but I think I was not clear enough. I would like to install the 1 license version on my iMac AND on my MacBook, but use only 1 of this systems at the time. In the meantime I've found out that according to the license agreement this should be possible. Can you confirm this? Or do I need a multiple license version?

hey my friend i figure out a way to fix it. do te following
If you have any external hardrive or usb drive or sd card remove it. If you have acces to a windows computer, plug your devices there and delete all the .something files that are created by mac os. Make sure to setup windows so you can see hidden and system files. Delete all thos .somethig files and olders.
Then plug in and reboot your mac and run the rm command now it will work
