Photoshop elements 11: No dialog box?

I've recently purchased Photoshop elements 11 and when I insert the disc to download it nothing comes up on the screen. Step 2 of the installation guide is to 'In the adobe photoshop elements dialog box, click instill adobe photoshop elements' but I have nothing to click. Tried browsing to the dvd using windows explorer but didn't get anything. How can I download what I have purchased?

Hi freedomalice05,
In the installation disk there must be a file named setup.exe
Please run this file and the instaltion should begin.
Also make sure you got the right disk for the right OS.
Alternatively you can try downloading PSE 11 from our website : http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/tdrc/index.cfm?product=photoshop_elements&loc=us

When my wife first logs in, this is the screen that comes up:
So we hit "Continue" and the next screen comes up:
So then we click "This is Okay" and the next screen comes up:
It doesn't matter what we select here; the next screen is always the following:
And here is where it dead ends. There's no place to enter an alternate name under 40 characters, there's nothing to click on. And this has been happening every time my wife has tried to log in.

  • Preventing Photoshop elements in Windows dialog when docked

I am using an iPhone 3G, and have some more questions...
When I've taken some new pictures with the iPhone and dock it to the computer. Two items automatically come up, Photoshop elements photograph downloader and a dialog from Windows asking what software I always want to run for this device (there is no option in that Dialog to do nothing).
Is there a way to dock the iPhone without prompting any automatic software to start?
    Thanks.
    Bob

For elements, right click the downloader icon in the system tray and choose disable (you can turn it back on again when you want to download photos). If that doesn't do it, go to Control Panel>Services and disable adobe active file monitor (this will cause you to lose the ability to have watched folders in PSE). Or you could upgrade to PSE 7, which just presents the downloader as an option in the windows dialog box, instead of as a separate program.

  • Photoshop crashes with open dialog box on Windows 8.1

I just upgraded from Windows 8.0 to Windows 8.1. I have Photoshop CC, I also have Photoshop Elements installed. On occasion, Photoshop CC hangs when using the open dialog box. It then crashes explorer. The only way to resolve it is to restart the PC.
Has anyone seen this behavior. I do not have any logs as of now.
    Thanks,
    Bill Byrnes

I don't know if this is helpful or exactly on topic with this thread... but I have to share somewhere...
I've been dealing this problem for months and I finally fixed it on my own.
My Antivirus, AVG, which is great, except for this glitch, was the root cause of the issue.
History:  If I right-clicked a file in my Save/Open Dialogue Photoshop (CS6 Extended) would crash.. for the last few months, actually...  If I avoided right-clicking I'm ok, but my instincts are to organize, rename, etc. while in the save/open pop-up window ... So I've often crashed Photoshop when all I do is right-click on a file in the list of files...
Well, I figured out the cause of the glitch:
"Permanently Shred with AVG” .. this option, added without my knowledge during an AVG update, was added around the same time this problem started (realizing this in hindsight).. THIS was conflicting with my Adobe Photoshop file explorer window in the Save/Open dialogue!!! After months of trying to figure this out, this is definitely the solution.
Once I turned that AVG Shell Extenstion off.... I am now able to right-click files in Photoshop save/open pop-up window again without it crashing…  finally !!!!
...hope this helps folks even if it's just a related clue to other issues....
Basically ,run command prompt as Administrator, then type:
    For 32-bit :  regsvr32 /u “C:\Program Files\AVG\AVG2014\avgse.dll”
    For 64-bit:   regsvr32 /u “C:\Program Files (x86)\AVG\AVG2014\avgse.dll”
I found this info about turning off  "Permanently Shred with AVG" option at this link:

  • Mavericks and Photoshop CC - blank white dialog boxes.

On Mavericks.  I'm getting white blank dialog boxes in Photoshop CC. Doesn't happen right away. It lets me work for a limited time then I get the blank boxes and can only Force Quit.  I don't use Suitcase but I do have a Wacom. iMac.

this is what WACOM responded to me:
    Dear Felix,
We are sorry for the problem, but we cannot see such a problem in our tests. The PS menus are displayed
by Photohop and the graphics driver. The tablet is technically not in any way involved in showing any menus.
Nevertheless we have tested it here and unfortunately we cannot reproduce such a problem, neither in
Photoshop Elements nor in Photoshop CC. We have customers complaining about lags in Photoshop under
Maverick, but those customers do not have seen any problem with the display of menus. So not evryone has
problems with displaying the menus, but might depend on graphics cards or other system parameters.
As it is a wrong behaviour of Photoshop and not the tablet, the problem needs to be reported and
reproduced by Adobe. Adobe developers have Wacom tablets and are in close contact with Wacom.
If they can see a problem related to the Wacom driver, they can get direct assistance from us.
So far we can only recommend to update the graphics driver and update Photoshop. Perhaps you need
to uninstall and re-install Photoshop. We also recommend to set Photoshop preferences for the pointer
to ‘standard cursor’ and not to ‘precise cursor’. If it is on a multi-monitor configuration we suggest to disable
the option in Mission Control for ‘displays use separate spaces’. This is known to have problems with some
    graphics cards.
    Kind regards

  • Windows 7, Photoshop CS6 or CC Dialog boxes Messed up bad!

    Hi Guys,
I'm running a PC with Windows 7 and a Nvidia Quadro 600 Card.
I have tried solving this one on and off for many months with no luck. Updating the drivers on the GPU etc. Clean installing.
It seems to affect only photoshop dialog boxes. But on both CS6 and even now on CC.
I'd settle right now for anyone even seeing this problem before! (Although I'd love a solution, don't get me wrong)
Here are a few snippets of the problems. Makes it impossible to read and use. Poor guy who uses this at work, is having a hard time using photoshop! It's every dialog, that gets messed up.
    Um, help!

I actually can't believe I'm writing this, but I have finally resolved this issue!
I think it might have been something to do with duplicate fonts.
I had duplicates of Arial and about 9 other fonts. However for the life of me, I could not delete them after going through changing ownership of the Windows folder to enable deletion of duplicate fonts which were used by the system. Couldn't do it that.
I finally re-installed WIndows 7 as an upgrade. So basically I was upgrading to the exact same version of Windows 7, while maintaining all my original settings, programs, mapped drives etc etc. Everything.
And photoshop looks peachy now! I can actually see what I'm doing!
But thanks to Dutch Paul Paul, who got me thinking along the lines of re-activating fonts!

  • I just bought Photoshop Elements 13, in a box. I can't find a serial Number that fits

I cannot find the serial number on the box. I tried the # over the bar code but that does not have enough numbers and doesn't work

Try downloading from here:  Download Photoshop Elements products | 13, 12, 11, 10
FYI this is the Photoshop section, Elements questions should be asked here: Photoshop Elements

  • Photoshop CS5 pop-ups (Dialog boxes) will not stay / stick in place

My pop-up / dialog boxes have always opened in the same place as I had placed them from the previous time I had used them. All of a sudden they will no longer stick / stay, they open in the center of the page.
For example when I first open PS and I click Ctrl > C for Brightness / Contrast the box will open in the center of the page. If I move it to the side (so its not in the working area) it should open in that spot the next time I use it.
But now it will always open in the center of the page regardless of where I have placed it before. Very annoying it have to move the dialog boxes all the time.

    What OS are you running?
I know of no way Windows can cause that, but I don't know about OS X.
If you can't find a direct solution, it might be a case where a complete Photoshop preferences reset to defaults could help...  Press and hold Control - Shift - Alt simultaneously (or Command - Shift - Option if on a Mac) immediately upon cold-starting Photoshop. If you get the keys down quickly enough - and you have to be really quick - it will prompt you to confirm deletion of your current preferences, which will lead to the establishment of a fresh default set. If it does not prompt you, you haven't been quick enough to get the keys down.

  • Can't open Photoshop Elements 10. Dialogue box states Run time Error

This is the second time in a week this has happened. Was able to repair it the first time by changing the name MediaDatabase.db3 to MediaDatabase.old
    But what to do now?

    Hi,
Try after increasing the RAM amount in the preference settings .
Go to Edit menu >> Preferences >> Performance
Increase the RAM amount as much you can do.

  • Photoshop CS3 Save and Save As Dialog box not working

I can't do a "save as" or "save for web" in photoshop cs3. The dialog box opens and I can't change anything but the file type pull down menu (and sometimes not even that). This problem happens sporadically.... but most of the time it doesn't work.
I have re-installed Photoshop cs3 but I still have the same problem.
    Photoshop CS3 10.0.1
    MacPro 2 x 3 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon
    Memory : 4GB
    Mac OS 10.5.8
    Please Help

I'm seeing exactly this same problem with Photoshop CS3  after the upgrade to 10.5.8. It appears that the dialog box never gets focus for "Save for Web and Devices" -- the title bar of the dialog is grayed out, while the main "Save for Web and Devices" panel still has focus.  That means there's no way to clear the dialog, since the panel is waiting for it to return, but the dialog can't get any input.  None of the standard resets work for any length of time.  I seem to remember similar problems in a much earlier release of Mac OS X, but I can't be sure.  Quite annoying.
