Photoshop Elements 11 Slideshow Question

Hello, I am attempting to create a slideshow presentation and the screen is coming up black when I attempt to preview the slideshow. I can see the pictures in the bottom pane and hear the music but can't preview the slideshow. Can anyone help? Thank you!

  • Need help, I've tried everything....Missing Photos in Photoshop Elements Slideshow...

    Hi all,
I've created a slideshow with Photoshop Elements 7 and the photos loaded and everything looked great.  Now when I open up the slideshow in the editor, it's only showing me a few of the photos, the others are completely black. However, when I look in properties, I can see the .jpg file listed, but I can't see anything. It doesn't show up with I play it, I tried File/Reconnect/All missing files it says "there are no files to reconnect".  I don't understand if the slideshow is recognizing the pictures, why can't I see them.  I am ready to start a fire with my computer.  Please help!  I've spent so much time editing the pan/zoom and sequence, I feel like crying.  This is my first time posting, so I'm not even sure what to do next.
    Many thanks to anyone listening!
At this point, is there even a way to re-add the pictures into each space, but allow it to keep the formating and pan/zoom attached to the particular slide?

    Hi Reema4,
It sounds like we have similar problems. See what I just posted at http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1044130. I can certainly understand your frustration. It is very discouraging that you have not had a reply in over a year now.
I just happened to stumble on your item as it was marked on the right side of the forum page. I could not seem to find anything by searching the forum… as they suggest. Have you found help outside of the forum? If so can you share it with me? I will be monitoring your item and suggest that you monitor my item also.
Please let me know what you may have learned. I think my problem was caused when I moved the folder/files, outside of the Organizer, after I finished the Slideshow… also I am on a windows system. See my forum item for details.
You said “Now when I open up the slideshow in the editor, it's only showing me a few of the photos, the others are completely black. However, when I look in properties, I can see the .jpg file listed, but I can't see anything.” Is there a way to see the properties while in the Slideshow Editor? How?

  • [PC] Reinstalling Photoshop Elements 11 Question

How do I reinstall Photoshop Elements 11 on new PC?

Dear Bill (sent 11 March, but not posted here!)
My old (actually quite new) computer unexpectedly packed up irreparably last month.  Fortunately data was backed up, but not programmes (I assumed I would be able to reinstall from original providers). The answers to your questions in this context are:
I do not have PSE 11 as either a file or physical media
Was installed once – on now defunct machine
No warning of breakdown, so not deactivated or uninstalled
I have the PSE 11 serial number
I may say I have been extremely put out by the way that the Adobe helpline has responded – out of warranty so £65 before we will even talk to you!
    Alan
PS (1 April 2014) I gave up and downloaded a new copy of PSE11 from Adobe, but this would not open. After a long and fruitless time on various Adobe sites, trying to resolve that issue they informed me that they do not 'maintain' previous versions (though maintenance not requested - just access to their own download, and PSE11 may be previous, but mine was only 2 years old). An upgrade option is referred to on the Adobe site, but could not be ordered. I have given up and ordered PSE12 from Amazon (for £65), after being offered it for £199 by Adobe! This has left a very bad taste in my mouth - April fool indeed.

  • Adobe Premiere and Photoshop Elements deal question

So last week I bought Adobe Premiere Elements and I love it but I just found out that there was a deal where you could buy Adobe Premiere and Adobe Photoshop Elements for $149.   I really want Photoshop Elements but if I buy it individually I have to pay $99.  I was wondering is there a way to just add it on to the Premeiere Elements I just bought?   Or am I stuck having to pay the $99 for Photoshop elements?

You're making it much more complicated than it has to be. If you make a shortcut for  the DNG converter on your windows desktop or for a mac, a desktop alias or put the converter in the Dock, you can just drop a single file on it. The converter will open and you can ignore the stuff in the window except for the destination for the converted file, and click Convert.

  • Having problems with aperture 3 on imac osx 10.7 and wish to install adobe photoshop elements 10, question will i loose all my liberary from aperture??

would i loose my fotos from the aperature library when i change to adobe photoshop elements 10. aperture keeps shutting my system down all available help has not done any good.  gmadeline

You'd only loose your Aperture libraries if you deleted them or damage them in some other way. The simple act of installing another app will not do this.
Of course you do realize that PS will not have any access to the Aperture libraries. If your originals are referenced then PS can get to them as it would to any file. If your originals are managed you will need to export them in order for PS to use them.
This all assumes you are abandoning Aperture for PS. If you are looking to do something else post back,

  • Photoshop Elements 9 question

I just installed Photoshop Elements 9 on a laptop. I had it previously installed on a pc but the motherboard died and so I installed it on a different laptop to get by until getting a new latop. I get a message saying I need to deactivate photoshop from another pc. I uninstalled it but didnt deactivate it before I uninstalled. Does this mean photoshop 9 on the new pc will expire in 30 days?

You need to contact activation support:

  • Photoshop Elements 8 Question

I am thinking of buying Photoshop Elements 8, and I would like to know if it has some sort of tool like the quick mask tool in Photoshop.......

Sorry, I didn't word it very well.
I know there's a magic wand tool that when you click it, will not let you manually choose what you want to mask.  It will go over whatever you click on that matches pixels.  Does that make sense or am I still confusing you?

  • Adobe Photoshop Elements 12 Question

I've purchased Adobe Photoshop Elements 12, completed the installation, but the program will not open.  When I go to Adobe's site and log on, my purchase and software serial number is posted.  Can't figure out what's to try next.

    Hi Florida,
Did you encounter any errors during the installation?
What happens when you try to launch the software, does it give any error messages?
    > Disable all the Antivirus softwares like CA, Norton,Mc Afee etc. temporarily from the computer and then try launch and check.

  • Edit in Photoshop Elements 10 question:

Ok, I'm using LR3 and Elements 10. I need to make sure I'm doing this right. Im in LR, and I want to send a DNG file over to Elements. I click Edit with Photoshop Elements, it sends the file over to Elements. I do my edits in Elements, then click Save. It does come back into LR, but its still the PSD and I want it to be in DNG?  Whats the best way to do this?
Is the only way it comes back is either a jpeg or psd? Or should I send files over in TIFF instead of PSD?  And which color space should I be in?
    Thanks folks.

    Mike,
DNGs actually make the most sense for Raw type images. For rendered images, they're just another container around your rendered image (TIFF, JPG, ...).
In order to pass an image from LR to PSE, LR will always create a rendered derivate file of the Raw/DNG photo (either TIFF or PSD), and pass the rendered image file it to PSE. Upon return from PSE, the rendered image is updated in LR, but stays in the same file format.
Of course you can convert the TIFF/PSD to DNG after return using LR's conversion (Library -> Convert Photo to DNG), but I cannot really see a benefit in doing that.
There is no option of passing a JPEG to PSE using "Edit in" and receiving the updated version automatically in LR. If you want to work with JPEGs (which I don't recommend because of compression issues), you'd have to save the image as JPEG in PSE and re-import it into LR manually.
    TIFF vs. PSD
These days (with TIFF supporting layers), there is no advantage of using PSD over TIFF anymore, and TIFF is a more common format than PSD. So I believe most people are using TIFFs to be passed to external applications.
    Color Space
You want to pass as big a color space to external editors as possible. This would be ProPhotoRGB for LR.
BUT, as quite a few functions are not available in PSE when using a 16-Bit image (i.e. cloning), I only pass 8-Bit TIFFs to PSE. Using ProPhotoRGB in a 8-Bit image - as far as I understand it - can have some disadvantages for image quality. For this reason I'm passing 8-Bit TIFFs in AdobeRGB (which is smaller than ProPhotoRGB, but bigger than sRGB) to PSE.

  • Photoshop Elements capabilities question

I need to design a 7"x14" instert for a CD binder.  Is Photoshop Elements enough or should I go with something else.  I have no plans on doing any web based design but want the ability to creat a "semi-professional" insert.  thank you!

You can make your own template and add images and text.
Click File >> Open and select all of your photos
That will add them to the project bin
Then select File >> New >> Blank File
Select background color White (or whatever you prefer) and add your width and height for your final image (set resolution 72 for web usage or 240 to 300 for printing) then click OK
In the project bin click your first photo and drag it up into the main window on top of your new background.
Click on the move tool and click in the center of the photo and drag to arrange it where you want on the background - you can hold down the shift key to maintain original proportions whilst dragging the corner handles of the bounding box to get the size you want.
Do the same with the next photo (drag it up into the main window) and use the move tool to position it. Then continue with each image.
Finally Click Layer >>Flatten image and save as jpeg. (Save as PSD if you want to preserve the layers for editing again)
N.B. as you add images they get dropped in the center. So you need to use the move tool to drag them apart. Click in the middle of one and move it around, and then the others until you get them positioned as you want.

  • Photoshop Elements Trial questions...

I am using a trial version of Photoshop Elements, does anyone know if I purchase the regular version if I am able to do more, or if the trial is the actual Elements?
Also, I am trying to delete the background from the picture (including the white box) and I read somewhere that it says the select the foreground and just delete the background...well I don't even know how to select the foreground?!  I've attached a picture of one of the products I'm trying to pull from the background.  I hope this makes sense!!
If anyone could help (and put it in the easiest terms possible!!) I'd greatly appreciate it!!
    Thanks,
    Whitney

    Ciao a tutti

  • Premiere Elements rotates Portrait Photos in PhotoShop Elements SlideShow

Is there a way to keep the subject rotation from occuring when a SlideShow is passed from PhotoShop to Premiere?

Hi, MGW. Not many people here use PRE, so you'd probably get more answers in the PRE forum:
    http://forums.adobe.com/community/premiere/premiere_elements
    Good luck.

  • Iphoto and photoshop elements users question

I elements installed so that it launches through iphoto when i have to edit a picture. I am familiar with elements from my prior windows machine (god forbid). Anyway, why does elements only show the frame on the mac? meaing the background is clear. I can see iphoto or the desktop or any other applications that is behind elements? Is there a preference i have not set?

What you are describing is just the way programs are
supposed to look on a mac. You can see your desktop
because you're supposed to be able to see your
desktop (except in the Elements quick fix window). If
you're a switcher this is disconcerting at first, but
you'll learn to like the way you can quickly access
documents in any program. For instance, it's a snap
to sample the color from a graphic on the web in
Safari with PE for mac. In windows you can do it, but
it takes a heap of window juggling to get there.
    THANKS

  • Photoshop Elements 12 question....moving photos to new drive....because old drive full.

I have a external hard drive that is almost full......what is the best way to get photos moved from this drive .....to a new and larger external hard drive?

    IceJim32 a écrit:
I would  like to move my entire catalogue from one external drive (that is almost full) to a new external drive with more room.  I have several drives with back ups of all photos.....so are you saying Move it.........using the Move from the drop down menus and move it from the old to the new drive.....and not restore it from a back up drive to the new drive?
The backup/restore process moves not only the picture files library, but also the catalog.
That's good especially if you want to share catalog and librarty with another computer.
If you prefer the default location for catalogs on your desktop, no problem. Simply use the catalog manager to move the catalog.
The drag and drop solution works:
Organizer: Moving folder trees or branches - Elements Village
(Sorry, I gave a wrong link in my previous post ...)
It's more flexible and reasonably safe. It looks faster, but if you want to be safe and do a backup first,  you'll gain nothing.
The problem with moving folders is the same than when you move folder trees from the explorer: be sure to move in an empty master folder to avoid folder names collisions.
If you want the catalog folder in the same external drive as the moved library, be sure to have the catalog folder outside of your library tree.
