Photoshop Elements 11--want "My Files" sort order to be descending

Is it possible to have to the ordering of "My Files" folders to be descending rather than ascending?

You can edit a jpeg in the camera raw dialog. From the PSE Editor application click:
File >> Open
Navigate to your jpeg
Then choose Camera Raw from the file format pull down list
Use the raw sliders and when done, click the Open Image button (bottom right) to send into the regular editor and re-save.

Importing Photoshop Elements 6.0 .psd files into iPhoto

Hey everyone. I am trying to import a bunch of .psd files into iPhoto to keep them organized. Some import just fine, for others though, the thumbnail gets all screwed up. It's almost like there are shapes clipped out of the real .psd file. When I open the file in PSE everything looks fine. It's just the thumbnail in iPhoto that is all messed up. Does anyone know how I can fix this? Thanks for your time.

This is what I found in the PSE 6 Help file:
"Masks, which let you manipulate, isolate, and protect specific parts of an image. In Photoshop Elements, alpha channels are called saved selections. To save an alpha channel, choose Select > Save Selection. To load an alpha channel, choose Select > Load Selection."
Go to the Select menu in PSE6 and select the last option, Delete selection. It should be useable. That will let the image be fully displayed in iPhoto. You can set PSE6 as the editor of choice in iPhoto as described below:
Using Photoshop (or Photoshop Elements) as Your Editor of Choice in iPhoto.
1 - select Photoshop as your editor of choice in iPhoto's General Preference Section's under the "Edit photo:" menu.
2 - double click on the thumbnail in iPhoto to open it in Photoshop. When you're finished editing click on the Save button. If you immediately get the JPEG Options window make your selection (Baseline standard seems to be the most compatible jpeg format) and click on the OK button. Your done.
3 - however, if you get the navigation window that indicates that PS wants to save it as a PS formatted file. You'll need to either select JPEG from the menu and save (top image) or click on the desktop in the Navigation window (bottom image) and save it to the desktop for importing as a new photo.
This method will let iPhoto know that the photo has been editied and will update the thumbnail file to reflect the edit..
NOTE: With Photoshop Elements 6 the Saving File preferences should be configured: "On First Save: Save Over Current File". Also I suggest the Maximize PSD File Compatabilty be set to Always.

Photoshop Elements 8-Change of file format when saving deletes filename

I have been using Photoshop Elements 8 since last May and have always been irritated that when I add text to a photo it always defaults to PSD format for saving. I have gone to the preference options to see if I can set jpg as the default and it does not offer that option. This means that every time I save after adding text I have to manually select jpg to get the format to change.
Although this has been a pain, I have done it thousands of times as I have edited photos.
My problem is that suddenly from one day to the next when I change from PSD option to jpg the filename disappears and I have to go back and manually type in the whole filename. The only changes to my computer settings that I can think of that might have affected this is that Microsoft Updates had 2 updates. First was Definition for Windows Defender-KB915597 and the other was Unpdate for Windows 7 for x64 based systems-KB97690.
I saw a similar problem posted by sandwitch2 on Feb. 13th about PSE6. 99jon suggested the change to permissions of adding "everyone". I tried this and it did not correct the problem.
Any other suggestions are welcome.
I have found Adobe's insistance on saving as PSD irritating to say the least in the past. The inability to change this in preferences has made me very unhappy, but the quality of their product has outweighed the hoops they make me jump through until this. Their search feature in support is pretty much worthless. It either brings up nothing if you keyword is to limiting or brings up 200 responses if it if too broad.
I have been a user of Photoshop Elements for over 6 years updating as new editions have come out. I am to the point that if I can't get this current problem fixed I am uninstalling Elements 8 and going to another software. Adobe's proprietary requirements and poor support page are just too much of a pain to deal with.

I was told that if I save in PSD if I send the photos to share with others only those with Photoshop Elements can open the files. That is why I try to use jpg. Is that true?

The Elements 12 shortcut can't find the Elements12.0.exe file so the program will not load. I can load the editor from its .exe file but not the organizer.

If you open up editor then expert mode then you click file and the it's manage multiple or something like that. It will pull up a box asking you where you would like to get the photos from. I picked a folder where I just edited the skin tone and then saved it. I'm thinking it has something to do with the way the files save but I'm not sure how to get it to change. But after the box comes up you can add a water mark to all the photos in the folder. I found the video of how to do it on here.

Photoshop Elements 10 - changing default file time

When I scan a file in Photoshop Elements 10 the default file type is always BMP. Is there anyway to make it default to JPEG? I work with a lot of files and having to change each one is an extra step I would like to get rid of. Thanks

Why does photoshop elements 10 back up files in xml format

I am trying to backup my catalog including tags to my external hard drive. When I do the files are all in XML format. When I attempt to open using Photoshop
i get "wrong type of file" or they are just a lot of code. What is going on. Where are the pictures?

I downloaded them into the same folder, and once that was done, I did as you said and opened PhotoshopElements_10_LS15.exe. It asked for my serial number and everything, seemed as though it was installing, and asked to restart in order to complete the process. I restarted the computer, and...I don't see Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 anywhere. There is a folder on my desktop that goes by the name of Photoshop Elements 10, but it only contains data files and things that I can't use. It's not the actual software....
What should I do?

Can Photoshop Elements handle very large files?

I have some very large image files (up to 20,000 x 30,000 pixels). Microsoft paint can not open them because of resource limitations.
I don't want to do anything real fancy. Maybe extend a square matrix with white pixels or overwrite sections with white pixels.
Can Photoshop Elements deal with such large images, say just a chunk at a time? Or does it require to have the entire image in memory at one time?

This note from Adobe indicates that PSE5 and PSE6 could open such a file; probably the limits for PSE7 and PSE8 are either the same, or would allow even larger images to be opened.

When Will Photoshop Elements 12 support Raw files from Nikon D3300

i have just got my Nikon d3300 and now want to edit and clean my images , but cannot find any information about when photoshop elements 12 will be able to do this , any help people.

The soon-to-be-released Camera Raw 8.4 includes support for the D3300. It's only available as a beta for Photoshop CS6 and CC at the moment.

Photoshop Elements 13 and RAW files from Canon 7DMII?

I just received a Canon 7D Mark II and need some editing software that can handle it's RAW images. I currently use Photoshop Elements 11 and really like it but the version of Camera RAW in that software cannot take the 7DMII files even though I did the Camera RAW upgrade that was available. If I have to get more software, I would prefer to get Photoshop Elements 13 over Lightroom. Can anybody tell me if Elements 13 has the version of Camera RAW that can accept those files? You can always download the trial version before paying for it. Use it for 30 days and then buy the boxed version to activate your trial product. You only need to insert the serial number to activate the trial version if you decide to buy the boxed version.

Photoshop Elements 8 - Need IOS file

I have a copy of Photoshop Elements 8, which I am trying to install on my new laptop (no drive). Looking to download from the website, but only the Windows file is available. Any ideas? Don't want to buy a Creative Cloud subscription (or any other Adobe one for that matter) to do what I need.

You don't need the iOS file, you need the mac file, which you can find here:
