Photoshop Elements 12 crashes almost every time while I am using it. I have already uninstalled and reinstalled it and it has not helped. I have a Mac.

How can I correct the problem of my Photoshop Elements 12 program crashing every time while I am using it? I have already uninstalled and reinstalled the program once and it keeps on doing this. I have a Mac computer.

Uninstalling and reinstalling almost never solves these kinds of problems. Has it ever worked right? What version of OS X are you using?

You can check for problems with current Shockwave Flash plugin versions and try this:
*check for updates for your graphics drive drivers<br>https://support.mozilla.org/kb/upgrade-graphics-drivers-use-hardware-acceleration
*disable protected mode in the Flash plugin (Flash 11.3+ on Windows Vista and later)
*disable hardware acceleration in the Flash plugin
    See also:
You can try to disable OMTC and leave hardware acceleration in Firefox enabled.
    *<b>about:config</b> page: <b>layers.offmainthreadcomposition.enabled</b> = false
You can open the <b>about:config</b> page via the location/address bar.
You can accept the warning and click "I'll be careful" to continue.
Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problem.
    See "Creating a profile":
    *http://kb.mozillazine.org/Standard_diagnostic_-_Firefox#Profile_issues
If the new profile works then you can transfer files from a previously used profile to the new profile, but be cautious not to copy corrupted files to avoid carrying over problems.

  • My safari Crashes almost every time I download a site

    Hi,
I have had my iphone for about 3 months now. the web browser only crashed about once a week. I was alright with that. Now it is increasing about every day. the browser now crashes every time I even load any page (including apple and google) It is real frustrating. I talked to a tech support and they told me to do a soft restart. I did that and it wasn't crashing while I was on the phone with him but later that day it started crashing again.
Does anyone have any Ideas as to what I should do? If I have to completely reset my iphone how do I do that and keep my information exactly how it was? I want to keep all my notes and contacts and everything on there. Will it erase it all if I have to do a hard reset?
    Thank you,
    Caleb

    Read this thread.
The reboot described can be done anytime and you won't lose anything.

  • New iTunes crashes almost every time I play a newly imported mp3

Since updating to 7.0.1 (7) it has crashed several times, usually when I double click on a newly imported mp3. It has also crashed while Ive been using other applications, ie Firefox, but not anything out of the ordinary.
Anyone else having similar problems? Will the crash log help me determine what the problem is and what to do about it?

iTunes saves out a new copy of the entire library file every time a change is made to the library. This is not new behavior.
The slowdowns I have seen like this have ususally been caused by:
    A virus
    or
Some anti-virus software is incorrectly interpreting the rewriting of the file and is causing a problem.
Either way, you should definitely update your anti-virus software and definitions to the latest, and run a full scan of your system. If that does not help, you may want to recreate your iTunes library.

  • With the latest Firefox, I keep getting error messages on Tumblr, and Flash Player crashes almost every time I watch a video on Tumblr.

This has been driving me mad for days now. I updated to the latest version of Firefox, but every single time I go to any webpage on Tumblr, (my dashboard, my personal blog, anyone else's blog) I am bombarded by error messages saying "too much recursion." I usually get anywhere from 3 to 5 messages per page. I reverted to Firefox 34 and can now access Tumblr just fine, but then I am faced with a different problem. When watching videos or vines on Tumblr, they can spontaneously lag, jitter, or stop playing. If I try to resume playing them, then they might start playing but all audio will be cut out. This seems to cause some kind of problem with Flash Player, because after it happens on Tumblr, then it will happen on ANY video playing site I visit. If I try to watch a video on Youtube, the video will spasm for a couple seconds and then go to static and say "An error has occurred, please try again later." I've tested it out on other video sites like Blip, and they also cause audio and video bugs. Even if I close Firefox and restart it, the issue will not be solved. The only way I have found to fixing the crashes is to manually reinstall Flash Player (which requires me to reset Firefox anyway). This has been a tremendous annoyance, as I have had to reinstall Flash Player and reset Firefox about five times on any given day for the past week or so. This is driving me to consider dumping Firefox for Chrome, and I don't want to do that.

Okay, I updated my graphics card drivers just for good measure. I also started Firefox in Safe Mode, and there weren't any bugs. So I isolated the problem by turning on my extensions one by one, and it turns out that something with my XKit extension was the cause. I manually removed XKit and reinstalled it directly from the XKit website. Now everything's working fine again when I use Firefox 35. Thank you!

  • Why is Firefox crashing? No error or reason is given. Uninstalling and reinstalling Firefox/Shockwave/Flash does not help. I have no addons.

Firefox randomly closes every time I go to do something, like use Google or Yahoo (it will NOT close if I let it linger). It would also close immediately when I tried to use a hyperlink through Word. When I go to open it back up, it will say that it cannot restore the previous session and there are no crash ID's of any kind.
I have no addons or extensions, and thus they cannot be causing this. I've uninstalled/re-installed Firefox, Shockwave, Flash, and Java. I've wiped my cookies and history. Nothing works. My other two browsers, Internet Explorer and Google Chrome, are working fine.
    What could be causing this?

You can try to do a malware check with some malware scanning programs on the Windows computer.<br />
You need to scan with all programs because each program detects different malware.<br />
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.

  • Photoshop Elements crashing

    Hi All
    We have:
    - Mac Book Pro (15" two and a half years old)
    - OS X 10.6.8
    - Photoshop Elements 4
It has all been working fine, then suddenly Photoshop Elements has started to crash. It will load up and if you leave it on the 'Welcome' screen with the 'Start From Scratch', 'Import from camera or scanner', 'Recent images' etc options, it is fine. Once you open an image or start a new one, it is ok for a short while but with in a minute or two it crashes. It doesn't crash when you specifically click on anything. It can crash with the image just on the screen and you not touching the laptop. It crashes straight out to 'Problem Report for Photoshop Elements'.
We are seeing no other applications having any problems.
The top of the crash report is as follows (if more of it is useful, please just ask - it is very long):

    What I have tried:
    - Removing the application
    - Removing any preference files
    - Reinstalling the application
    - Removing any preference files for Opera (found this searching the forums..)
    - Ran Disk Utility - Permissions and disk repair
    - Ran the long/full hardware check off the OS X boot CD - no problems found
    Any ideas please?

Right, not had a chance to grab some one elses laptop and swap things, but I have done this..
This laptop has 2x 2GB sticks of RAM. It has 2 slots.
I put 1 stick in at a time in to each slot, so trying each stick of RAM on it's own in each of the 2 slots.
It crashed which ever stick was in which ever slot!
A mixture of the following 2 error variants appeared (both errors had with both sticks on their own):

Still think it's the memory? Can't be unless *both* of them are at fault surely? Then I really would expect more issues than just Photoshop Elements crashing?

  • Elements Organizer starts every time

Almost every time I start Photoshop Elements 9 the "Elements Organizer" starts and can take 20 to 30 minutes to search for new files among my 15,000 plus pictures.  I had to reinstall Elements 9 because the first time it didn't find all my pictures, only about half.  I am loosing so much time waiting for the "Organizer" to do its thing that, though I have used earlier versions beginning with version 2, I wonder if I need to look elsewhere.  I would hate to loose my dozens of tags but the time I am wasting now I could use doing tags on another product.  I hope I can get help so I don't need to do that.  How can I stop this from happening?

In Organizer, use File...Watch Folders and de-select the option to watch your folders.

  • Flash crashes every time I try to use Bickham font

Flash 8 Professional instantly crashes every time I attempt
to use Bickham font or try to change a font to Bickham. Obv I'll
just import a graphic of what I need from Photoshop, but I was
wondering if anyone has the same problem? Is there a trick one can
do to prevent this from happening?

Do other programs have similar issues displaying that font?
    If so, than
maybe the font file is corrupted somehow, and you should try
    to reinstall
    the font.

Can you post a copy of the crash report?
Go to your Applications Folder and open your Utilities Folder. Open the application Console.
In the left-hand column, click on Crash Reporter.
Click on the small triangle under Crash Reporter in the l/h column and they will all be listed.
Scroll down to the latest Safari report and click on it.
Now click on the r/h column (which now only shows THAT crash report and then Command-a to copy it all.
Come back here and Command-v it to post it here!
