Photoshop Elements 12 Guest Account Error

I just installed Phtoshop Elements12 and registered online. When I try to open the Photo Editor, I get a dialog that says can't use this product under a guest account. I didn't find any log on information in the Photoshop Elements program so I am confused. Also, I am the only user of this computer and am logged on as the administrator. What can I do to start using my new program?

One thing that is different about PSE 12 is that you must log into an adobe ID and stay logged in to use PSE, although you don't need to be online at all after the first use. Go to Help>Sign in and sign in there, if it's available.

    Photoshop Elements 7 Editor Error
    Hello,
Yesterday I did a clean install of Windows 7 (x64) on my PC & have completely updated it through Windows Updater, I than installed PSE7 (disk that I brought new 3 years ago & has worked fine up till now) & followed the instructions.
Now, it loads the first screen fine (Organise/Edit/Create/Share) & Organise,Create & Share each load fine but when I click on Edit I get this error
    Editor - Photoshop Elements 7.0
Could not initialise Photoshop Elements because the file could not be found.
I have already installed it on my old (now completely dead) Vista laptop, this PC & my mothers Win7 laptop & all work/ed.
The thing I have tried are -
    Uninstalling & reinstalling PES7.
Uninstalling & reinstalling the OS & installing PSE7 first.
Replacing all files in 'Computer > Local Disk (C;) > Program Files (x86) > Adobe > Photoshop Elements 7.0 , with the files from my mothers laptop.
Have 'Deleted the Settings File' (Shift + Ctrl + Alt)
Running the Elements Organizer in a new user account.
& ringing customer support who told me to ask here.
I have tried the trial version of PSE10 which does not work, I get the following error
    Adobe Photoshop Elements 10
Could not open a scratch file because the file could not be found.
& clicking OK the following error
    Adobe Photoshop Elements 10
Could not initialise Photoshop Elements because the file could not be found.
Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Try reseting the preferences of PSE 10
Open PSE just to the Welcome Screen and press Ctrl + Alt + Shift (Mac: Cmd + Opt + Shift) and keep pressing.
Click on "Edit" from the Welcome Screen but keep pressing the keyboard keys - don't let up.
You will get a little dialog box asking if you want to delete the settings file. Click "Yes."  You can let go of the keyboard keys now.
This will rebuild the file for you and often solves the issue.
If it doesn't work, navigate to :
    C: > Users > [user name] > Photoshop Elements > 10.0 > Editor > Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 Prefs.psp
Right click on the Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 Prefs.psp, and select Delete.
A new preferences file is created the next time you start Photoshop Elements.

  • Photoshop Elements 8.0 errors on install

I have a new computer and when I try to install PS Elements 8.0 I get the following error:
    "Photoshop Elements 8.0 error 1326:Error getting file security:C:\ProgramData\Adobe\Elements Organizer\8.0\Flash Galleries\Dynamic\ GetLastError: 5"
Any ideas what I can do to get this to install?

If you are installing from disk you could try copying the contents to a new folder on the desktop. Installation often works better from the desktop than from the disk drive.
I would suggest you start by uninstalling everything from the control panel then go to your new folder and find the install.exe or set-up.exe file and right-click on it and choose “Run As Administrator”
Before you start the fresh install, temporarily disable internet security/anti-virus software.

  • Photoshop Elements 11 Editor Error 213:5

I am using Photoshop Elements on a late 2012 27" 3.4 GHz i7 iMac with 32 GB RAM using OSX 10.9.1. The SSD was failing and Apple replaced it. When I got the machine back, I learned my backup was incomplete and had to reinstall all my applications. This last week, I got around to reinstalling Photoshop Elements 11. I enter the serial and it installs. The organizer application runs fine. When I try to run the editor, it provides the following error.
    Looking up the error on the support site, it sends me to the following link;
    http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/activation-deactivation-products.html
which reports that the problem is with the SLStore permissions.
I have verified that the permissions are as they are reported they should be, and continue to recieve the same error.
What do I need to do to eliminate this error?
    Thanks.

Adobe support successfully helped me via chat this morning.
    Solution is to;
    1. Go to /Library/Application Support/Adobe/
    2. Get Info
    3. Select the Lock and enter your password
    4. Select + under users in lower left
    5. Add administrator and your username (and any other users you want to use it)
    6. Set the Privilege to Read & Write for each of these users
    7. Select the gear at the bottom, and
    8. Select apply to enclosed items.
You can now close the info window and start the program. It should now load successfully as you would expect.
Hope this save some other folks some time in finding the solution.
    Have a great day!

  • Photoshop Elements 12 installation error on windows causing rollback-help needed please

I am installing Photoshop Elements 12 on my windows laptop. When almost done an error occurs and it starts rollback and the installation fails. I consulted the troubleshooting guide which suggests to go to C://Program Files(x86)/Common Files/Adobe/OOBE/PDApp and delete the files PDAppFlex.swf and PDAppFlex-app.xml .I have managed to go to Program Filesx86, Common Files, Adobe, but then the folder OOBE is absent. Within the Adobe folder I have AAMUpdaterinventry, Acrobat, Acrobat PCD, Help, PCF, SL Cache and Updater6. The files suggested to delete before retrying installation are not present in any of these folders.
Has anybody any ideas on what I should do in order to complete my installation.
    Thanks very much,
    Tim

Without proper detailed system information nobody can know what is going on. Also try to find the pertinent info from the install logs.
