Photoshop Elements 12 Installation Failure Shared Technologies

I bought PSE 12 this morning and have been trying to download t all day. Im using the recommended Akamai_NetSession_Installer. But once it gets to a certain point it stops and rolls back everything its doing and a msg pops up:
The installation process has encountered an error while installing Shared Technologies. Pease restart your system and try again.

Have tried twice to install (second time switching off my virus checker) get a failure to install shared services then it rolls back and uninstalls the programs.
Downloaded Support Advisor - Failed to find any issue.

Resolved using CHAT with an agent. Seetharam was excellent.
Involved:
NAVIGATING the DVD, opening the PSE 12 folder (If you download then it should be in the Photoshop Elements folder).
RUNNING the ElementsSTIInstaller to install it then
NAVIGATING to "C/Program file (X86)/Common file/Adobe/"
RENAMING the OOBE folder as oldOOBE.
AUTORUNNING the DVD
It is now fully installed....

Photoshop Elements 12 Installation Failure

I purchased Photoshop Elements 12 and downloaded the installer. I have tried installing the software three times and keep getting "Installation Failed."
I am running OS 10.7.5 on a MacBook Pro, Processor 2.5 GHz Intel C ore 2 Duo, Memory 4 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM.
I have already tried re-installing using the basic troubleshooting tips, i.e. restarting the computer, exiting all applications, and relaunching the installer.

Okay, for anyone else who has experienced this problem, I finally got the new PE 12 to install.
I booted my MacBook Pro from an external drive that had Mac OS (10.6) loaded and started the installation from the purchased .dmg file on my main HD. (Although, I had to RE-DIRECT the installer to install PE 12 into the Applications folder located in the main startup drive).
I rebooted using my one and only startup drive (except for this external drive that I have systems software loaded on), then launched the PE app (the "alias" app) in the App folder and, at least, got something going. However, I got nothing but "help" videos.
I backed out of that, then tracked down and opened "Photoshop Elements 12 Editor.app" (apparently, THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT) in the "Support Files" folder.
EUREKA! I can now FINALLY access the Adobe Photoshop Elements 12 software via my normal startup drive. YAY!
I hope this helps others who experience the same goofy problems loading Adobe Photoshop 12.
I'll be shopping for something that is NOT ADOBE in the future. This was a ridiculously unnecessary process to go through, and one that is ADOBE specific.

Photoshop Elements 8 installation failure - Error 2 - Mac OS 10.6.4

Hi,
Like a number of others, I have been unable to install from my recently downloaded PE8 package - PhotoshopElements_8_WWEFDJ.dmg, getting Error 2. I'm running 10.6.4.
I've tried all the workarounds I have found here and elsewhere with no success.
I would attach the installation log, but can't see a way of attaching anything other than images or video here.
Can someone please help?

Photoshop Elements 12 installation/uninstallation failure

I purchased Adobe Photoshop Elements 12 on 4 December 2013, and finally today I have tried to install it, on Windows 8.1. But there were problems, big problems.
The installation program said that the installation of "Shared technologies" has failed. So, then, I have rebooted the pc and I have tried to re-install Photoshop Elements, but the installation program reported that before was necessary to unistall P.E., so I followed the instructions on the screen, but at the end the unistallation failed, because "Specified path is empty".
So I has gone in the Control Panel, to perform unistallion from there, but there was no trace of P.E..
I rebooted the pc and tried again the installation/uninstallation several times, but always unsuccessfully.
Then I consulted the Support page on the Adobe site, where I have found that it is suggested to run the "Microsoft Fix It" tool, but actually that tool does not support Windows 8.1...
So, what I have to do? Can you help me, please?

Photoshop Elements 12 installation errors

Using MS 8.1 with Bitdefender antivirus; first time Adobe user - I purchased Photoshop Elements12/Premiere Elements 12 and am trying to install Elements but received the Shared Technologies error and it rolled back as if to uninstall. I followed the suggestions about renaming the OOBE folder, but when I tried to to install it again, the disk tried to uninstall and I get error 2343-specified path is empty. Through chat with Adobe a couple of days ago, I was told to uninstall my antivirus (Bitdefender) and try installing Elements again. It still tried to uninstall and I get the error 2343 again. Hopefully, someone has the solution to this problem. I am not very tech savy and expected to be able to install the program and be learning/using it by now. After 7 hours of just trying to install the program, if there was a way to return it, I would.

Photoshop Elements 12 Installation Problems

Photoshop Elements 12 installs fine on a Windows XPSP3 platform (from C:\Documents and Settings\UserName\Desktop\Adobe Photoshop Elements 12).
On a Windows 7 SP1 platform C:\Users\....\Desktop\Adobe Photoshop Elements 12, but will not run
Error 1000 Application error caused by PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe followed by
Error: 1005 (100)
Description: Windows cannot access the file for one of the following reasons: there is a problem with the network connection, the disk that the file is stored on, or the storage drivers installed on this computer; or the disk is missing. Windows closed the program Photoshop Elements 12 Editor because of this error.
The same source installation file was used in bith installs.

How can I tell if my software installed properly? The software came with three discs, and it only installed the first disc. I am new to Photoshop, and do not know if my software installed properly? Can anyone help?

Thank you for your quick replies. I have checked,and my OS is indeed 64 bit. I have been using the 32 bit version of Adobe Photoshop Elements 10, since I installed it last evening. I have a few quick questions;
Will I loose any functionality if I stay with the 32 bit version versus un-installing and installing the 64 bit version from disc 2?
If I decide to un-install, and re-install from disc 2, will there be any software registration issues (as I have already registered the software)?

Sorry for the inconvenience. The first troubleshooting for this error is to update the Adobe Application Manager. Please install the latest version of Adobe Application manager from the below link and try to start the installation.

I have an Adobe Photoshop Elements 13 Installation Disc and all other requirements for installation. When the disc is inserted for Mac, the disc doesn't appear on the desktop. Please help!

Are you sure you have the right disc? There's a windows disc in there, too.

How I can repair my trial photoshop elements 12 installation?

I've seen installation problems, but I do not think my case has already been reported .
I had installed the trial version of photoshop elements and premiere elements 12 .
I had no problems updating to 12.1 photoshop elements.
premiere elements has been updated , but photoshop does not do : it stops after downloading the file , and then talk about empty folder.
I uninstalled everything and installed again : I installed premiere elements , but not photoshop elements.
During installation, at some point appears

Could not open key

I tried again , but nothing changes .
I did a registry cleaner by removing the keys from Adobe. Nothing to do .
Now I can not even install the Adobe download assistant ( I thought maybe the evening corrupt copy ) .

I have identified in the windows registry key shown in the error message.
But you can not delete nor change the permissions to delete it.
