Photoshop Elements 12 wont launch in Vista

I recenly installed Elements 12 on Vista (ater numerous failed attempts) but it wont launch. Any solutions?

Any error messages?
Can you launch the individual executables (organizer / editor)?
What happens if you right-click an image and select Open With> Photoshop Elements Editor?
Did you disable your anti-virus / firewall during installation?
What happens if you right click the shortcut and select 'Run As Administrator'?
Cheers,

  • Photoshop Elements 11 wont launch

I have installed photoshop elements 11 from disk, but it will not launch. I open it and nothing happens. I have uninstalled and reinstalled but no change. I have run as operator and I have troubleshoot compatibility issues the only clue I got was no Gdiplus.dll file, but there is a file of this name in the elements 11 folder. I am running Windows 7.
    Can anyone help?

It's a windows file having to do with graphics rendering. There are several places to download it online but since I don't know which are legit I'm not going to link to any.

  • My new photoshop elements 13 wont launch. HELP!!!!

I recently installed elements 13 on my computer and when I try to launch it, it asks me to sign in, then asks me to agree to the terms, and then when I click agree it disappears and nothing happens. I cannot get it to launch. Please help!

    Hi,
Please try out following steps and see if it helps:
Enable the (Hidden) Administrator account on your computer. See Administrator account for more information.
Sign out of your current user account and log in as the Administrator.
Launch Photoshop Elements Editor and log in from the sign-in screen, using your Adobe ID.
If the editor launches successfully, disable the (Hidden) Administrator account you created in Step 1. See Administrator account for more information on disabling an account.

  • Photoshop Elements 8 Wont Launch Organizer

I am ready to pull my hair out. I can no longer access my photoshop elements organizer. I have tried pressing ctrl alt shift with no luck.......Nothing happens. Please Please help.

Found this from John`s blog (http://www.johnrellis.com/psedbtool/photoshop-elements-faq.htm#Reset_the_Organizers_online _services). Please try.
If a photo upload to an online service like Smugmug or Flickr fails, the Organize may then crash every time you try to restart it.  Reinstalling has no effect.
To troubleshoot this, start the Organizer and let it crash. Then check the contents of the file:
    PSE 6/7, XP: C:\Documents and Settings\user\Application Data\Adobe\Photoshop Elements\v.0\Organizer\log.txt
    PSE 6/7, Windows 7/Vista: C:\Users\user\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Photoshop Elements\v.0\Organizer
    PSE 8, XP: C:\Documents and Settings\user\Application Data\Adobe\Elements Organizer\v.0\Organizer\log.txt
    PSE 8, Windows 7/Vista: C:\Users\user\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Elements Organizer\v.0\Organizer
Replace v with 6, 7, or 8. You may need to configure Windows Explorer to view hidden files.
    If the last line is:
    Initializing OLS
then you’ve been struck by this bug. To work around it, see this Adobe tech note:
    PSE 6: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/405/kb405252.html
    PSE 7: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/408/kb408913.html
The PSE 7 tech note also applies to PSE 8 – replace 7.0 with 8.0 in the folder name it says to delete.

  • Installing photoshop elements 10 on a windows vista machine

Should I install photoshop elements 10 on a windows vista machine in the "Program Files" or "Program Files (x86)" folder.  I am running 64 bit on the machine.  Thanks for the help

It depends on which version of Windows Vista you have.  Program Files (x86) is designed for 32-bit applications and Program Files is for 64-bit when using a 64-bit OS.  http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-files/programs-files-vs-program -files-x86/7d631676-e688-472a-a1bb-eefccfeca6d7

  • I'm using photoshop elements 2.0 and window vista.  when i want to crop i cannot enter any values in

I'm using photoshop elements 2.0 and window vista.  when i want to crop i cannot enter any values in the width and height boxes.  the cursor won't enter.  same thing with resolution.  what did i do?  what's wrong?

The first thing you might try is resetting the Crop Tool by right clicking on the crop icon in the tool options bar and choosing Reset Tool.
If that doesn't work then the next thing is to reset the photoshop elements 2 settings file by holding down
the Shift+Ctrl+Alt keys just after clicking or double clicking on the pse 2 shortcut.
Keep holding the keys until a dialog appears ask if you want to delete the photoshop elements settings file
and click yes in the dialog.

I installed Premiere Elements 11 today and it wont launch.
The launch window doesn't get past:
    Loading SmartSoundAdobePlugin.bundle
before I get the Adobe Premiere Elements 11 quit unexpectedly; report.
I click re-open and the problem persists.

I have re-installed twice and received no installation errors.
Would appreciate any tips on what I am doing wrong.

    Good on you Steve,
      and thank you.
In addition to following your two tips, I came across some additional information related to fonts. I validate the font library and reloaded it. I was then able to open Premiere Elements 11; SonicFire plug-in still didn't work.
I found some information in the forum on a related SonicFire patch - installed the patch and everything is working fine. Turned on Retina display and life is good.
You're worth your weight in gold - thanks again.

  • Adobe photoshop Elements 12 Editor - launch problem

    Hi,
    Can anyone help!
I downloaded adobe photoshop elements 12 editor.  When I open the application the page goes straight to 'create' (ready for editing) I looked up some tutorials and noticed that the first page should launch with an option to 'Oraganise' Or 'Create'.  This page does not appear for me! ?  I have no way of importing/organising my photos into the Elements Library. I do not HAVE a library!
I can import my files straight from the DS card in RAW, but it takes a long time to search for each individual photo that way. Can anyone help??

If you can launch the editor after a re-start go to:
    Edit >> Preferences >> General
Click the button to reset preferences on next launch. Close the editor and re-open again.

  • Photoshop elements 12 wont open

pse wont open it says I dont have internet?

I have the same problem with the full version (12.0) and installation yesterday (and today!!!). Downloaded the installationfiles with Akamai Download Manager. After installation, the shortcut wasn't linked to any executionfile in the installationfolder (e.g. Photoshop Elements 12.0.exe), so i get a warning to look for the exe-file by browsing my computer. Reboot computer and try to re-install by clicking the "setup" redirected me to "uninstall". While uninstalling i get the message " specified path is empty" and the program refers to the online adobe troubleshooter. I tried all the given possibilities mentioned there, deleting temp files, installing as administrator, adding Adobe Support Advisor .. even a "clean windows startup" didn't work.
The only way to let my setupprogram work again (no uninstall-screen this time), was to go into the register and delete all the keys and values from PSE 12 (which I wouldn't recommend for anone who doesn't have a clue of what their doing). To be on the safe side, I decided to install the "trial"-version. Downloaded the file from the Adobe website and believe it or not, this time giving me a fault message about "Shared Technologies"
Next try was to install the trial version of PSE 12. the idea was to install that first and activate it afterwards with the serial number given when i bought PSE 12. This time i get a fault-message about "Shared Technologies" and the installation was reversed ... otherwise said "NO GO" and no files installed.

  • Photoshop elements 10 wont open

I have uninstalled and reinstalled the program.  I can't get it to run or open or anything.  Sometimes there is a quick flash but usually it will not do anything

    Hi,
Please try couple of probable solutions as mentioned below:
    Solution 1:
    1. Close Elements.
    2. Launch the Photoshop Elements Welcome Screen and hold down ctrl + alt + shift as you click Editor.
    3. Continue to hold the keys until you see a message box asking if you want to delete Photoshop Elements settings file; click Yes. Elements will open with default preferences.
Solution 2: In case any network printer is attached try to launch without network or printer uninstall or make different printer as default.
Solution 3: Try launching with anti-virus off or removing PSE from conflicting list.
Solution 4: On the drive on which you have installed PSE,on my machine it is on C:
Go  to C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop Elements  10\Locales\<locale>\Plug-Ins\Import-Exportand you will find twain  plug-in. Remove that plug-in from that location and copy it somewhere  else.
Now launch PSE and check if it works. For related post for Twain please see this:http://forums.adobe.com/message/2954743#2954743
Solution 5: If installed any third-party plugin remove it and try launching
Solution 6: Launch from exe directly with admin account. Navigate to this file c:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 10\PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe - right click and select run as administrator.
    Thanks,
    Garry

  • Photoshop Elements Installer Wont Open

    Hey all,
I just downloaded the adobe photoshop elements trial. After it had finished downloading i double clicked the only file that downloaded to run it and it would not. In the properties window it says it is a "File" and nothing else. Also in the description it says "Adobe Extractor" but it wont run. When i try to it just asks me what program do i want to use to open it.
    Help would be appreciated,
    Thanks
PS: I have attached a screenshot of the properties window.

Nevermind it turned out to be a simple fix, i just added ".exe" to the end of the file name.

  • Photoshop Elements 6 stops launching

Windows XP Pro, SP2 and all updates.
Elements 6 stops launching: cannot find a connection to any other task that I am doing.
The only method to operate normally is to use install disk and do the "repair process". The program will not start to operate normally: until the next time that it becomes unresponsive.
Have tried complete uninstall and reinstall. After reinstall, Elements operated normally for about 1 month and then stopped responding to program launch.
Tried going directly to the program folder and launching the program.EXE file directly: no change.
Searched the previous responses but they seem to focus on Vista or a Bundled software package.

Your suggestion, I had found this earlier, only addresses Vista so I assumed that it did not apply to XP Pro.
    Answers to your questions:
    1.
After repairing the program, using the install CD, the program launches into the Welcome Screen. Prior to the most recent repair, when the program did launch, it loaded directly into the editor portion.
    2.
When the program launch cycle is NOT performing, there is a short (a second or two) duration "spinning of the cursor" and then nothing. No display is presented and the system goes back to, in this case, the Desktop as if nothing had been requested.
    3.
I will definitely check Explorer for any processes after the launch attempt if the attempt is a failure. Sadly, for troubleshooting purposes, this is a periodic issue.
I can use the program, or at least launch it, every day or several times a day, without an issue and then for some unknown reason, the launch will be non responsive.
