Photoshop elements 13 bought online and downloaded but won't open on my new mac book pro--says windows based and not supported --Did I buy the wrong one?
I bought elements 13 online. I was able to download it but not open it. I looked for a mac version before I bought and did not see one. Did I buy the wrong version?
Amyrice did you purchase Photoshop Elements 13 from Adobe directly? If so then you may have a multi platform license. You can find your registered serial number under your account at http://www.adobe.com/. Photoshop elements 11 seems to be installed, but won't open
After 3 failed attempts to install Photoshop Elements 11, It seems to be installed. The icon is there, and it shows a file location for it. But when I click on it to open it, I am asked by user account control if I want to allow this program to make changes to my computer. When I click yes, nothing happens. So I can't open Photoshop, no matter what I try. Help, please!
Try making a direct shortcut for the Editor. Make sure you have the correct file path as there is more than one exe file. You can then launch the programs directly from the desktop bypassing the welcome screen. This is generally better as the welcome screen leaves background processes running.
On Windows, Right click anywhere on the desktop and select New >> Shortcut
Then click the browse button and navigate to:
"C:\Program Files(x86)\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 11\PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe"
Then click Next; then click Finish -
I can't seam to get the migration to work between my g4 running 10.4 with all the upgrades including migration assistant 1.0.6 to talk to my new Pro.
The pro tells me to upgrade the g4's migration assistant and that has been done as much as I can find.Hi 'baltwo'
Thank you for your link, I already had been on this particular website this afternoon. they only discuss problems in the application and nothing about how the MS Office application installation does disturb Mac OS.

I am using FCP 7.0.3 on my Mac Pro. I bought a new mac book pro and loaded the software on to the lap top but the software is 6.0.3. How do i get the update to the lap top?
.. and by the way, the jump from FCP 6.0.3 to FCP 7.0 (or higher) isn't an "update" It's a full version "upgrade" that has to be done using the install discs (or disc images).

Is there a way to restore photos from Drop box to my desktop iPhoto in a large batch instead of one at a time? I tried and a zip file was downloaded but won't open. Says file format not recognized. I see how to do it one at a time with the "download" button in Dropbox but that's so cumbersome for lots of photos.

i just bought a new mac book pro 13'' and i bought a toshiba 1tb hard drive aswell, i formatted it to mac but it will not show up on my tv so i can watch movies? and solutions or reasons why?
TVs don't support "Mac OS Extended (Journaled)", so you will probably have to use FAT32. To format the external drive, follow the same steps as you did to format it with "Mac OS Extended (Journaled), but in the erasing screen, select "MS-DOS (FAT)" as "Format". Note that FAT32 isn't compatible with files bigger than 4 GB. Also, you may have to format the external drive in a PC

Hi I have just bought a new Mac Book Pro 15" Retina display with 256 SSD and 8G RAM. I had my info transferred form my Previous Mac Book Pro late 2011 to this machine. When trying to download Mavericks it says it cannot be loaded onto this machine? Strange as I have just downloaded Pages, Numbers and Keynote...free? Thanks and Regards

You already have got OS X Mavericks installed (the Keynote, Pages and Numbers versions available in the Mac App Store are only compatible with OS X Mavericks).
You have got a Late 2013 MacBook Pro, which uses a special OS X Mavericks version that is not available in the Mac App Store. This is the reason why the Mac App Store is not compatible with OS X Mavericks even if you are using it. This will be fixed in OS X 10.9.1, when your Mac uses the same Mavericks version as all other Macs.

I just bought a new Mac Book Pro and did a migration of the content of the old laptop (also a Mac Book Pro) to the new one. Now I cannot start Photoshop CS6. When I am starting it I have a window "Adobe photoshop CS6 extended" opening requesting a connexion. When I am entering my password for the connexion the software crashes. How can I fix the problem?

I had an 8GB 1st gen iPod in it's original box in storage and just took it out to hook it up. Charged it overnight, plugged it into new Mac Book Pro and it was recognized as being an iPod in recovery but other identifying information was all indicated as "n/a" (so, unknown OS, etc). Error code 1604 came up so I downloaded iTunes on the Mac Book and it is currently showing version 10. But now when I try to restore the iPod, error code 1611 comes up and the troubleshooting doesn't tell me what else to try. The USB connector that came with the iPod was also never used before - brand new also from the box so that should be fine. I also tried a different USB port on the Mac Book. Any ideas?

I have just downloaded iPhoto from the app store. The photo library from my old laptop was backed up on an external hard drive and I retrieved the photos from there. Now when I open the photos on my new Mac Book Pro, they are small - am I missing something?

That means you imported one Library to another.
Never import one Library to another. Every version and thumbnail is imported like a distinct photo, you lose all your Albums, Keywords etc., the link between Original and Previews is destroyed, the non-destructive editing feature is ruined and so on. In summary: it's mess.
So the reason you're seeing small photos is because you're seeing the iPhoto thumbnails from the back up library.
So, what to do?
Do you still have the back up? If so, trash this bunged up library and restore from the back up again. HOw to restore will depend entirely on how you made the back up, but no version of restoring includes importing the library.

Yes, that is the number. And what version of Aperture have you installed? The same version as on your old Mac?
But it don´t work on my new Mac...
In what way does it not work? Does it require you to enter a licence number for Aperture 2 as well? That will be necessary, if your serial number is an upgrade serial number. Then you will have to enter all previous numbers as well.
Or does Aperture not accept the number as correct? Then check the spelling; some letters are easily confused like "I" and "1" and "O" and "0". Do not use the number pad to enter the numbers.
