Photoshop Elements 13 crippled Facebook account. Is this a bug?
OK, so my wife attempted to upload a picture she edited in PSE 13 to Facebook using Photoshop's direct uploader. She then has to click through several screens to verify that this was okay. The problem is in the last screen. It says that the name should be 40 characters or less, and there is no way to enter another name, nor is there any other link you can click on. And this happens every time she tries to log in to Facebook; she gets stuck at that last screen (fortunately, this doesn't occur in the mobile app).
As far as I can tell, PSE does give Facebook a name longer than 40 characters, but again there is no way to change it.

When my wife first logs in, this is the screen that comes up:

It doesn't matter what we select here; the next screen is always the following:
And here is where it dead ends. There's no place to enter an alternate name under 40 characters, there's nothing to click on. And this has been happening every time my wife has tried to log in.

I have a new MacBook Air with Yosemite (no CD/DVD capacity). I want to install Photoshop Elements 6. Can I do this with the serial number? If pse 6 is not compatible, can I upgrade to pse 7. I do not need pse 12 or 13
I cannot answer regarding compatibility, but there is no download available for PSE6 if you would need one for this. You might be able to copy the installation files from a disk to some other removable media that the machine accepts. Upgrading to PSE7 would not be possible mainly because Adobe does not sell older versions of their software.

My computer had to be wiped clean and I had to reinstall my Photoshop Elements 5. I keep getting this message: The Adobe Updater could not be started. Please reinstall the application and components.

Open the task manager with Ctrl + Alt + delete. Click on the Processes tab and find firefox.exe. Click End process -
Photoshop elements uploader to facebook won't work properly.
Photoshop Elements 11 gives the opportunity to share pictures with facebook.
The facebook uploader doesn't work for me. Uploading in high resolution won't work at all. But even in standard resolution, the following problems occur:
1) uploader does not recognise albums in facebook, and
2) worst of all: uploades images won't be visible to friends, unless they dive into yout profile. I mean: in the uploader window i choose: visible to friends. When i log on to facebook, the images are there, but they are tagged as privat. Untagging them to 'visible for friends' won't help.
What am i doïng wrong (PRE11)
While uploading al settings are correct, in facebook settings become different.
Operating system: W7, 4GB RAM, E8600

Thx for your suggestion to a solution. I'm sorry to say that it doesn't answer (all) my questions. I will try to see what difference matching the settings give, but no mather the result the following question persists:
I have to choose an option: adding to an existing album or creating a new one. Since most of the time i (read: my wive) wants to use the uploader to share some photographs with friends, the only right option seems to create a new album. (I could live just fine without creating an album, but that option isn't available).
So: While creating a new album with the uploader, the uploader is used to set the settings vof the new album. Now the trick: the album in facebook gets different settings.
I would very much appreciate an solution to this particular problem.

My headline says it all. I would like to turn my Premiere Elements order into the combined Premiere and Photoshop Elements download offer. I have already paid for Premiere Elements but would like to take advantage of the combined offer for only another $40 or so. How do I do this?
I only downloaded and paid for the Premiere Elements package about two days ago.

Did you purchase Premiere Elements 13 from Adobe Direct? If so, are you within 30 days of that purchase? If the answer to both of those questions is Yes and it appears to be, then you should explore

Under the conditions mentioned at the beginning of this reply, I am speculating that Adobe should be able to give you your money back for the Premiere Elements 13, allowing you to purchase Photoshop Elements and Premiere Elements which are sold together, but are still really standalone products. How Adobe opts to do that is at its discretion.

As stated in my question I tried to open a manual I have on my desktop and it opened it Photoshop Elements edit page in a thumb nail format. I checked and all my desktop items will only open in the photoshop elements edit page. what do I need to do to correct this?
Now that we have your post in the correct forum, I have a few questions, please:
What is the file format of this "manual?"
What OS version are you running?
If this is Windows (a PC), then what is that file format associated with in File Types? It is likely that the particular format has been associated with PsE. If that is not what you want, the association can be changed from the Control Panel, to link it to the desired program.

i have a problem with installing PS13 as I get an error message "This installer does not support installation on a 64-Bit Windows operating system. Please download the 64-Bit version of Photoshop Elements." how do i do this
Try downloading the trial. It ought to detect that you have a 64-bit system.
You aren't using Vista, are you? PSE 13 requires at least win 7 and I think a few folks with vista have gotten a similar error message on trying to install it. -

The photo files are not stored in Photoshop Elements. They are disk wherever you put them.
To upload to Facebook, do the following:
Open Facebook
At the top, click on "Photos/Videos"
Click on "Upload Photos".
Point to where your files are on disk. -
as above, never got this issue when i was using 10.8.
now every time when i boot my macbook air, just before logging into my user account, the screen blinks once(screen gets brighter a lot in a very short time about 1 second).
i've googled around, found there are some fellows who also have the same issue as mine.
Is this a bug with 10.9 mac os? will Apple fix it???Mine is doing the same thing but it has happened to me before on other versions too.
I tried resetting PRAM and it didn't help.
Also running real laggy on bootup even thou I repaired permissions.
I think a patch from Apple fixed my screen before or it was just plain luck because it was working right before this UPGRADE.
I will be trying a clean install tonight or this weekened for sure to try and fix my issues. -

Photoshop Elements 4 won't open, Mac Leopard

Been using Photoshop Elements 3 and 4 with iPhoto 6 for years. Recently, when I tried to open Photoshop from iPhoto, Photoshop crashed.
Since then, I have been unable to open Photoshop from this, my home user account. The load pane opened, Photoshop started loading stuff, got to "loading settings" and crashed. After all preferences and settings have been deleted it gets to "reading workspace modes" and crashes.
Photoshop *does run* from other accounts on this computer. I twice trashed Photoshop Elements 4.0.app and every Adope file I could find and then reinstalled from DVD. That doesn't help.
It appears to me that there must be a pathological item in Photoshop's input queue in this account. If so, I have been unable to find where the input queue is lurking.
The iPhoto entry that caused the problem was not at fault. It gave no trouble when I booted from a SuperDuper clone and used the copy of Photoshop on the clone. I have reported this to Apple as an iPhoto bug.
Can anyone tell me where to find the input queue to Photoshop so that I can purge it?John Varela:

A couple of things to beware of when posting to Adobe forums by email:
A line containing 'wrote:' (and perhaps variants of this) will be removed along with anything below it
anything following a string of five underscore characters will be removed

Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 Crashes Upon Startup
I have bought/downloaded Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 and it installed fine, but whenever I go to start up the application it instantly quits with "The Application Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 has unexpectedly quit". This happens endlessly, and even when I try going on another account it still happens. I don't have any presets or prefrences (others have said to delete the file) and I am simply unsure on what to do next. I asked the tech support in the chat and they instructed me to make a test account, but it still kept happening.
Try making a direct shortcut for the Organizer and Editor. Make sure you have the correct file path as there is more than one exe file. You can then launch the programs directly from the desktop bypassing the welcome screen. This is generally better as the welcome screen leaves background processes running.
On Windows, Right click anywhere on the desktop and select New >> Shortcut
Then click the browse button and navigate to:
"C:\Program Files\Adobe\Elements 10 Organizer\PhotoshopElementsOrganizer.exe"
Then click Next; then click Finish
N.B. on 64 bit systems navigate to Program Files (x86)
Then make a direct shortcut for the Editor in a similar manner.
On Windows, Right click anywhere on the desktop and select New >> Shortcut
Then click the browse button and navigate to:
"C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 10\PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe"

The serial number could be available thru your Adobe account. You should log in and see what information you have registered there.
