Photoshop Elements 13 Error 16

I'm having an issue with Photoshop Elements 13. Whenever I open it, it tells me there is a configuration error, and then it asks me to uninstall and then reinstall. I downloaded PSE 13 from Adobe's website in December of 2014, and it was working fine until now. I have uninstalled and reinstalled about five times now, and it still gives me the same error message. I have also searched via Google for help, and I found an article about resetting the permissions of the SLStore and Adobe PCD folders, but those didn't help. It was still giving me the Error 16. I'm very frustrated with this. Is there anything else I can do to fix this?
PS: I'm a Mac user, under OS X 10.10.2, Yosemite. This was what I was using when I bought and downloaded PSE 13.

i solved the issue on my mac by
running in the terminal: sudo chmod -R 777 /Library/Application\ Support/Adobe
removing and installing the "adobe application manager" again from Get Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop App & Adobe Application Manager

  • PC Cam 750 & PhotoShop Elements Error Message P0230bGR.dll

My son had a PC Cam 750 installed on my computer. He is now in Japan (with the camera) and I thought I uninstalled the Creative software from my machine. However, when I open PhotoShop Elements, I get a fail to start error message about P0230bGR.dll not found. A number of other PhotoShop users seem to think this message has to do with a plug-in installed by the Creative Software, and that when I uninstalled the Creative PC Cam software, the plug-in can't start. Can someone verify this? And if so, which plug-in and how can I remove it. I do not have the PC Cam installation CD. Thanks. mzz

PSE4 is quite old. What computer system are you running it on?

  • Downloading photoshop elements error

I'm trying to download the photoshop elements trial version but i get an error about disk space, i've 68gb free space on c drive and 2gb free space on d drive. Is that enough?

Where are you choosing to download the install files too?  I would recommend canceling the download and then choose the default location of your User folder.  Also which version of Windows are you using?

  • Can not sign in to photoshop elements - Error occurred and information not saved

I am trying to sign in to my account from my Photoshop Element 10 program.  When I log in, I get a msg that says my account has been located and I need to update some information. It asks for DOB and to make up a website address.  After filling in all the blanks and check boxes I try to click on Update account.  It tries to "submit" information when I get a "failure" msg saying Error occured and information was not saved.  I can not move past this step.  I have uninstalled and reinstalled the program without benefit.

    Hi,
If these are iMessages then they are "archived"  as the app runs a database item called chat.db that holds the "history" of the iMessages conversations you have had.
In Mavericks this is in ~/Library/Messages
There are several database items in here that are needed as a whole.
If the chats on show in the main Messages  window are from AIM, Jabber or Yahoo connection then these will need to have been Saved at the time.
In Messages Menu > Preferences > General Section is the setting for Save on Close.
This will save the chat if you dismiss it from the Main window or when you quit the app.
With an open chat this may mean that different bits are saved in folders dated for different days.
In Mavericks this is in ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.ichat/Data/Library/Messages/Archive
Basically this is in the Sandboxed area of ~/Library
Have you tried going to the Accounts section of the Preferences and using the Sign Out button ?
Once you have done this shut down the app (Quit).
On restarting the app re-add the Apple ID.

  • Photoshop elements error message

I tried to start photoshop elements 5 and I got a message saying that it was an invalid address and then a message saying that the program was not responding or waiting for a response but it didn't open. I know a lot of people say it's Google Chrome but I've been able to run them simulatiusly for months! Plus I refuse to uninstall Google Chrome... I've been told to delete my preferences but I don't know how. I have windows 7 though. I've tried to repair it but it didn't work. Any help?

The editor saved prefs often get corrupted. You may need to rebuild the editor preferences to resolve any conflicts.
Hold down the Ctrl+Shift+Alt keys and simultaneously click on the Edit button on the welcome screen. Release the three keys and look behind the welcome screen by closing it. Or hold down the keys whilst double clicking on PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe (in Program Files\Adobe) or Program Files x86 on 64 bit Windows 7.
You should see a pop up box with the words: Delete Adobe Photoshop Elements Settings File?
    Click on Yes
Then wait whilst Elements rebuilds the preferences.

  • LR4 - Perferences - Edit on PhotoShop Elements Error

I updared to LR4 from 3.6 which worked perfectly with external editing. I configured LR4 to Edit in PhotoShopElementsEditor.exe. When selecting it I then get "Unexpected Error Performing Command: bad argument #1 to 'lower' (string expected not nil).
So my guess is it either doesn't like the file name (I tried several) or it doesn't like one of the default parameters being passed as I did not change any defaults. Not the friendliest error message so I could use a little help sorting it out.
I am using Win 7 64bit and LR 64bit but PSE is 16 bit but I hope that is not a problem.
    Thanks!
    Joe..

The inability to invoke any external editors from LR4 is a known issue and Adobe is working on a fix.  In the meantime, a temporary workaround involves installing the free trial version of PSE10 or CS5.  You do not have to run these programs but merely install them on your machine.  You can get more information, read the replies by Adobe reps, and add your name to the list of people having this problem at the Adobe feedback site:
    http://feedback.photoshop.com/photoshop_family/topics/lr4_external_editor_failure
You can also see the response by Tom Hogarty, LR Product Manager on the LR blog:

Try it after resetting the preferences of your PSE app. Visit this URL for resetting the preferences: http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop-elements/using/undo-redo-cancel-actions.html#restore_defa ult_preferences
I think after resetting the preferences PSE should work fine.

  • "Failed to initialize" error message when installing Photoshop Elements 12

    Hi,
I kepe getting an error message when trying to install Photoshop elements 12. I have re-downloaded the files multiple times from different places and none work so I know it isn't a corrupted file. Tried a system restart. Tried using support advisor but it found no issues.
I'm running Mac OS X 10.9 on a 2012 Macbook Pro that meets system requirements.
    Any help is greatly appreciated

I have gone through the install logs and the error I am getting is 'PIM - Error could not create PIM Common Folder Path'. I have gone to the PDApp folder and it does not have any permissions on it. I have gone to the folder PDApp and it doesn't have any permissions, I'm not sure what to do from here. The PDApp folder is a alias that leads to the Adobe Application Managers folder. Sorry for the font being bold, it wouldn't turn off after pasting the error message.

  • Photoshop elements won't run, eula agreement error

This week one of our users began experiencing a problem with using Photoshop Elements 5.0.  She knows the application worked fine on her computer a few weeks ago, but when she tried to use the program today she is being asked to accept or decline the user agreement.  Once she clicks "Accept" the program then gives her the error message below:
"Your Adobe Photoshop Elements EULA agreement has been declined or is invalid.  The application cannot continue and must now exit."
She clicks "OK" and the program exits.  What has happened?  Do we need to re-install?  We work in an environment where we have no administrative rights on these machines and so we are trying to avoid getting the IT folks to re-install since they could take a couple weeks.  Please help us figure out this problem.
    Thanks!!

This is a recuring issue for me, most likely caused by a registry cleaner. I can go months - as many as six without that lovely greeting. I have found no other way to correct it other than a reinstallation.

  • Why is my adobe photoshop elements 12 not working. it says initializing and then it says there is an error and closes itself

why is my adobe photoshop elements 12 not working. it says initializing then error and shuts itself down.

    Three things you can try:
    1. Clean the superdrive with a proprietory CD/DVD lens cleaner that uses tiny brushes.
    2. Perform an SMC reset:
Resetting the SMC (System Management Controller) on Intel-based Macs:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht3964  and
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1237?viewlocale=en_US
Resetting your Mac's PRAM and NVRAM:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1379
If you are using a Wireless Keyboard:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3273
    3. Try the free DVD player VLC:
    http://www.videolan.org/vlc/
which performs better than the built-in DVD Player.
