Photoshop Elements 2.0 Re-install problem
I upgraded my computer and am trying to install Photoshop Elements 2.0 on my new computer. I cannot complete the installation and am receiving an error message as follows:
"Can not intiialize Photoshop Elements because the scratch disks are full."
I read and followed the instructions to increase the paging size but it did not make a difference. Everything worked well on the old computer.
Now, as I try to open PE, it gets to the error message and then closes. I'm running under XP Pro. How do I get past this and get PE running on my computer?

You can't do a repair install in windows. However, there are other things to try first. Quit the editor, then restart it while holding down ctrl+alt+shift. Keep the keys down till you see a window asking if you want to delete the settings file. You do. (This only works if you start the editor directly, via the button in the organizer, the .exe file, or the Edit button in the welcome screen. If you have set the welcome screen to automatically open the editor, double-clicking the PSE shortcut won't work.)

I've done some research on the SQLite database. Whenever Aperture hangs up (like during auto-stack or opening the filter hud) there are thousands of SQLite queries happening. These SQLite queries cause massive file I/O because the database is stored on the disk as 1kb pages. However, the OS is caching the database file; mine's only 12MB. I'm trying to track down some performance numbers for SQLite on osx but having trouble.
It's starting to look like most of the speed problems are in the libraries that Aperture uses instead of the actual Aperture code. Of course, that doesn't completely let the developers off the hook since they choose to use them in the first place.
Oh, and if anyone is curious, the database is completely open to queries using the command line sqlite3 tool. Here's the language reference http://www.sqlite.org/lang.html

I downloaded Photoshop Elements 10 for Mac (not trial, with valid serial #)
Mac OSX 10.7.2, 3.6 GHz Intel Core i5, 16 GB RAM
I know the install package is valid because I installed it on my backup laptop (same Max OSX version) after I was having problems with my primary desktop and it installed fine. I have followed all the instructions on the install package including "restarting my system and installing again," and the install keeps failing with the same message:

Suggestions? thanks.Issue resolved with the help of Adobe Support (Mercer). My problem had been seen in another machine, there were empty folders in the Fonts Folder (Hard Drive>Library>Fonts) that the installer could not reconcile or delete, that was hanging up the Installer.
My fix was to delete the following empty folders from the Fonts Folder:
AdobeMingStd-Light.otf
BickhamScriptPro-Regular.otf
KozMinPro-Regular.otf
MyriadPro-BoldCond.otf
TektonPro-BoldCond.otf
And then re-run the installer (be sure to empty the trash).
My advice would be to first read the installer log and look for names of font folders that could not be resolved, then dump those. Another way would be to dump any empty folders in the Fonts Folder, empty the trash, then re-sun the installer. -

safe boot opened new user account
did hard drive apple disk check cleared caches
used applejack (this helped a little - for a period of time)
clean installed slowly reinstalled items
so after weeks of slow deduction (installing apps programs uninstalling cleaning etc) I have now been able to fix the problem
delete adobe flash - adobe photoshop elements 8 and shockwave. Problem gone!
But clearly not solved.
cannot reinstall later or older versions of flash/shockwave onto my computer or in anyway install elements because the problem comes straight back.
Help?Well you are being thorough on your troubleshooting however this looks like an Adobe issue. Have you posted the problem in an Adobe forum?

Photoshop Elements Organizer Won't Install
I just purchased Photoshop Elements 10 and have installed it but the organizer isn't installed. I have tried installing from the DVD and also copied all install files to a directory and installed from there with the same result--no organizer!
I'm running Windows 7 on a new HP computer so that shouldn't be a problem. I registered the program.
The main reason I wanted this program was for the organizer and I'm very disappointed that it isn't there!
Has anyone else had this problem?
PatDid you ever get this resolved? I'm having the same problem. The editor works fine, but when I click on the organizer, nothing happens and I can tell from the install files that the organizer did not install properly. So far the only response I've gotten is inquiry about my OS.
If you got it resolved, would you mind sharing the procedures?

Cannot get Photoshop Elements 10 Trial to Install - Windows 7 64-bit

I cannot get Photoshop Elements 10 Trial to Install - Windows 7 64-bit. I downloaded the trail of Photoshop CS6 just fine. I am trying to download the trial of Photoshop Elements 10. I get the adobe installer window and I login in and select my PSE 10 Trial and the installation begins and I have it saved to my desktop. When the installation finishes nothing happens. There is a Photoshop Elements folder on my desktop but it is empty. I have tried a couple of time with the same result.
Any suggestions?

I apologize for not making myself clear. What I meant by "saving to desktop" was when I I went to download the the trial of PSE 10 the install window will ask me where I want to save the file. It is defaulted (highlighted) to save to "my documents" but I selected to save the file to my desktop. I tried to install the trial of Photoshop Elements 10 again and this time it did install and is working.

Photoshop Elements 9 will not install.
I have installed Photoshop Elements 9 several times, and it does not complete installation. It loads about 80% of the files, then at the point of placing an desktop icon, the softwarw rollback. My operating system is Windows 7 64 Ultimate. My computer system includes AMD Phenom II X4 810, 8 GB RAM, GeForce NVIDIA 9600 GT (IRQ 18) and GeForce NVIDIA 8400 GS (IRQ 19). I tried to disconnect the second graphics card - no help. I have manually removed Photoshop Elements 9 from the registry and reinstalled - no help. The error status is 1603. When installing, I closed all Adobe software, anti-virus software, and Windows Firewall. I contacted Adobe customer service several times - no help.

Just upgraded my MacBook Pro (13-inch Mid 2012) to Yosemite 10.10.3 including Photos 1.0 which is not syncing with Adobe Photoshop Elements 12 Editor (already installed and prev ok with iPhoto)....any ideas please?
In iPhoto it was possible to go into the iPhoto prefs and set up Elements as an external editor. After using “Edit in” the image was saved back to the iPhoto library. Photos for OSX is very new, so I’m not sure whether that is possible with the new app. Have you looked for the prefs/settings? You could ask a question on the Apple forum:

I purchased & downloaded Photoshop Elements 11. I installed it. Informed me some parts were missing, so I needed to uninstall it & reinstall it. Check the papers that came with your PC or the web site of the vendor. OEM versions are either on the recovery discs they provide or can be downloaded from their site.

What happened to my Photoshop/element photos? They were supposedly migrated, but I don't see them! I have no albums in my Revel account.I had a paid subscriiption and it was cancelled back in or around February, and told that the photos would be moved over to REVEL...Can anyone help me to get them back?
First, thanks Pattie for following up with me. I am going to check my backed up hard drives to see if my photoshop materials are on them. It will take me a few days, as I have only small amounts of time to research it at this time. maybe a break will come in a day or two for a determination.

Is it possible you logged into Photoshop.com with a different email, or is it possible that you did not set up your Elements to sync with Photosho.com? These are the two main reasons users can not find their files.
The Photoshop.com account created in 2009 with the email you use to log in to this forum has no files in it, and therefore, nothing migrated to the Revel account with the same login. You do have a Revel account with the same login, but it is also empty since nothing migrated.
