Photoshop Elements 5.0--Deactivate

How do I deactivate Photoshop Elements 5.0 and Premier Elements 3.0? Currently, my computer is not hooked up to the internet--I realize it needs to be before deactivating (not a problem). But when I look at PS Elements or Premier Elements>Help, there is no Deactivate option. There is for my CS2 products, which I also want to deactivate.
Question: Just need to know how to deactivate PS Elements and Premier Elements on old computer, so I can install on a new computer.
Thanks,
Lana

Oh, the other thing I forgot to mention is that I purchased the software under the Adobe education store. Does that make any difference? They state the software (at least for CS2) can only be installed on one computer. That's why I thought I would need to deactivate.

  • How do I deactivate Photoshop Elements 9 from a dead computer?

    Hello,
I recently got a new computer to replace my old one which stopped working. I had Photoshop Elements 9 installed on the old computer and used it often, so I installed it on my new computer. However, it told me that the serial number had been used for 2 computers already (my old computer and my dad's computer) and that I needed to deactivate the old one before I can activate this one. This is impossible because the old computer can't be used anymore.
Is there some way the serial number on my old computer could be deactivated online?
    Many thanks,
    -Mike

Now I want to activate my PSP ELements 9 on new computer.  It says "Activation limit reached for Adobe Photoshop Elements 9. " And it wants me to deactivate my PSP ELements on the broken computer or a new serial number. As far as I cannot deactivate it on the broken computer, I am writing you to ask for help. I am not the US, I am Slovak. What can I do to use my PSP ELements 9 now ???
Thanks so much for your help in advance.

  • Do I have to deactivate my lightroom 5 installation before moving it to a new hard drive as with Photoshop elements 10?

I cannot find any way to deactivate my Lightroom 5 install prior to moving it to another hard drive like I did on my Photoshop Elements 10 .

There is no activation/deactivation process with Lightroom. Just install it on the new hard drive. You might need your serial number.

  • I am trying to deactivate my photoshop Elements 9 on a crashed c drive, now on a external drive conn

I am trying to deactivate my photoshop Elements 9 on a crashed c drive, now on a external drive connected to my new computer. When I open, from the old C drive the deactivation option is not highlighted on the drop down menu- its not available. How do I deactivate this version on the old C drive(now external) so I can Activate on my new drive?

Probably the simplest solution is to contact activation support:

  • How to deactivate my photoshop elements 9

how to deactivate my photoshop elements 9, first time I tried, and it shows error. so I uninstalled it, thought it would solve the problem. What do I need to do now to deactivate it?

Is it still on your machine or have you uninstalled it?  If it is still on your machine then try this:
    Help >> Deactivate
The above is in the menu bar by going to Help tab and looking for deactivate item listed separately in it.
If you don't have it in your machine because you have uninstalled it then if you can install it again then follow the above method.
Alternatively, you can start a chat line by going to:
    <http://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html>
Select you product and follow the online instructions.  You want something called activations, deactivations etc etc.

  • I cannot deactivate Adobe Photoshop Elements 10

Ok, so I bought Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 and Adobe Premiere Elements 10 (both in the same case) from Fry's Electronics. I used to use another computer and so all my programs were there. But that was a shared computer, and now I have my own and redownloaded everything here. Of course that led to it giving me warnings and all that. So I deactivated Adobe Premiere Elements 10 just fine, but Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 won't let me deactivate it. The deactivate option is there under help, but it isn't highlighted and won't do anything when I click on it. I don't know what to do, so please help. It would be greatly apreciated. I only have 21 days now, and diminishing... HELP

    Hi Yodragon Studios,
Please uninstall Photoshop Elements 10 from the old machine & then try to activate it on the new computer.
Try that & see if that helps,

I found no indication whatsoever on Adobe site for this question. The chain of questions on the site keeps taking me round and round until I reached this forum, which is where I started from !!!
Can somebody tell me how this can be done ?
Please DO NOT tell me to follow the path of questions until I get somewhere : this is juest what I have been doing for half an hour !!!

    Many thanks Brian !
Quick reply, simple process (two clicks). Why is it so difficult to find the answer ? Too simple ?
As a matter of fact it is a question of vocabulary : “sign out” and “deactivate” is NOT AT ALL  the same thing (I’ve been  for many years an editor of English versions of international standards and regulations, and happen to know what words mean ). All the more as I have just discovered in the “Uninstall” process that the word “deactivate” is used https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop-elements/kb/uninstall-premiere-elements-photoshop-elemen ts.html
In French (my language), the Help menu reads “Deconnecter” which means something like “exit” or “sign out”. For me it meant either “leave the programm” or “disconnect from the help service”. Anyhow, it’s not an option you would use not knowing what the result would be : there is no suspension point on that line.
And the Help answer on Adobe’s site (in French) reads :
“Si vous souhaitez installer le logiciel sur un troisième ordinateur, désactivez-le sur l’ordinateur sur lequel vous n’allez plus l’utiliser. Ensuite, activez le logiciel sur le nouvel ordinateur.”
It does not use the word in the menu (déconnecter = disconnect).
Approximations like this could be a matter of life and death . In a french movie dramatizing the war in Algeria “L’honneur d’un Capitaine”, soldiers uphill in the mountains radio their captain – in the valley - to let him know they have captured the man they were looking for. He just says “Descendez-le”, which means “bring him down” or “Shoot him”. He meant of course “Bring him down”. The man was shot to death.
It looks like no one on the forum know the real answer. Do you think you could help correct this ? A simple phrase like : “check (or look up) uninstall process” would do.
    Regards
    Dominique

  • I sold a copy of Adobe Photoshop Element 9.0 and I need to deactivate registration

I sold a copy of Adobe Photoshop Element 9.0 and I need to deactivate the online registration that’s on 2 computer. How do I do this?

You need to do it in Full Edit from the menu:
    Help >> Deactivate
Or you can normally deactivate permanently during un-installing.

  • Uninstall / Deactivate Photoshop Elements 4.0 for Mac?

A while ago, I purchased a copy of Photoshop Elements 4.0 for Mac. I installed the two copies permitted me by the license.
Since then, I purchased Photoshop, and have no need for Photoshop Elements. I wanted to uninstall it and give it to someone I know-- but I can't find any information on how to remove (and deactivate) it! Does anyone have any ideas on how to go about this?

I dont think there is an Uninstall alias inside the App folder in PSE 4.0 timeframe...we started adding that uninstall alias only in E8 version.
Can you please check inside the <Macintosh HD>\Utilities\Adobe Installers\ folder if there is any entry present to remove the application? If yes, then you need to double click it and remove the app.
Else, I am not too sure...I think in PSE 4 timeframe a user was needed to drag and drop the app folder to trash.
May be Barbara/John or senior members of forum can help and provide confirmation here.

  • How to deactivate the serial number for photoshop elements that is not installed or available?

I have a version of Photoshop elements that has been uninstalled and is no longer available to reinstall.  When I uninstalled from an old computer, I failed to deactivate the serial number.  How can I do that without reinstalling?

Wow, I tried the "chat" option and waited for 30 minutes....no one ever helped.....so I called a customer service number for the creative club option and they promised to put me though to someone who could deactivate my product.....waited another 30 minutes on hold.  So then I called the sales department and wow, just as I thought......someone took my call right away.  (Please note that the computer that the software I am trying to deactivate has been reformatted and I am unable to deactivate in that manner).  I asked the poor sales rep, why on earth would I spend hundreds of dollars for new software when the only people who you can get to help you are the sales people.  I think I will stick with free open source applications........this is so not worth it......

  • How can I deactivate Adobe photoshop elements 9 when its un-installed?

How can I deactivate Adobe photoshop elements 9 when its un-installed? I told my husband I had to get it off the third computer but he trying to help me did not deactivate it before he  un-installed it!!!!
Now what? I am only using this on 2 computers and I'm told I am using it on a 3rd and I'm not.
    How can I fix this?
It wont work on the 3rd one anyway because its so old and limited it crashes every time I try. But I need this on my 2 good computers.

One way could be to reinstall it on the third computer and then deactivate it and uninstall it.
If that doesn't work out or if you'd rather try this route it should work... contact Adobe Support either by chat or via phone and they should be able to help.  Chat is usually 24/7
