So do I install my photoshop elements 5 (I also want to install adobe premiere 3) do I install it on my new computer then download the upgrade for it to work on vista? Can someon give me a step by step to what to do with both programs please.

Colby,
Download and install The Windows Vista Application Compatibility Update
(http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929427) first. Premiere Elements 3 is
listed there. Then install Photoshop Elements 5.0, Premiere Elements 3.
Last install the Adobe Photoshop Elements 5.0.2 update. The download and

  • How can I download the trial version of Photoshop Elements on Windows Vista?

I am eager to try out the trial version of Photoshop Elements 7.0-however I can’t download it!  I get to 99% downloaded and then get a fatal error telling me that there are integrity check problems.  I am using Windows Vista.  I have also tried removing and downloading it again but this hasn’t worked.  Does anyone know what I should do?

    Hi,
I believe your issue must be resolved by now, else you can try it again and see if it working fine now or not.
Also, this link might be of some help to you: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/400/kb400530.html

  • Photoshop elements 6 with vista - transparency problem

I just installed Photoshop Elements 6 to my new laptop which has Vista.  I used Photoshop Elements 6 previously for digital scrapbook layouts on my old computer that had XP.  In XP when I dragged a element that had a tranparent part onto my layout the tranparent part (was grey and white checkered before I put it on the layout) was invisible like it should be.  When I do the same thing on my laptop with Vista the part that should be transparent shows up gray.  Please help!!

That's pretty interesting because you should have had the same problem in XP, if I'm understanding what you're saying. You should be able to drag from the layers palette in either operating system, but you can't drag from the project bin in PSE 6 and 7 the way you can in earlier versions. That creates a special kind of pass through layer intended for use in a photo book.
Are you sure you weren't dragging from the palette in XP and from the bin in Vista?

  • Right click Open With sometimes not working (Photoshop Elements 9, Windows Vista)

We recently upgraded from Photoshop Elements 7 to Photoshop Elements 9. We are running Windows Vista.
Last night, my wife was right clicking on JPEG images in her My Pictures subfolders and choosing "Open With" to open the files with Photoshop Elements. In some cases, this worked. In other cases she would right click the file, Adobe Photoshop Elements would start, but the picture itself would not display.
I tested one of these pictures and was able to open it with other applications, and was able to open it by choosing "Open" from Photoshop Elements' file menu.
Has anyone run into this before? Why are some pictures not opening when you right-click and use "Open With"?

    Hi,
you can make PSE9 default program for opening any image on you vista machine.
    Then it souhld work fine.
    cheers,
    Sam

  • Installing Photoshop elements 10 in Vista 32 bit

I can't seem to find what I need to know about which discs to use to install Photoshop elements 10 and Premier elements 10 in Vista 32 bit. I'll also need to know about Windows 7 64 bit. The discs say to start with #1 for Vista and #2 for Win 7 64 bit.

Follow the link for clarification http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/863/cpsid_86374.html
Start with Disc #1 to install on Windows 32 bit however the Disc #2 is to install on Windows 64 bit.

  • Photoshop Elements organizer 8 Vista Crash

I have just installed Photoshop elements 8.  The editor works fine, but the organizer will not even open, just get the crash report. I have done everything in the Troubleshooting section except take out my RAM Sims. I am bypassing the Welcome screen:  I have called Adobe Tech support a number of times, been kicked up to more Sr. technicians and told twice that I would be called back after a meeting of their minds. Still waiting for the first call!  My OS is Vista Ultimate 64 bit with hardware that can run three of these programs at once. I bought this program from Adobe for over $100.00 from there site, waited for the CD to arrive so I would have a hard copy. To make sure I didn’t get a bad CD, I downloaded it, installed a clean install, and had the same results. I am going to start the fight with Adobe to get my money back, so I can buy a program that works. Until then does anyone have something new to suggest?

When I installed it to the laptop running vista 32 bit it ran fine. Now remember these two computers are identical, but when I installed it to the laptop running vista 64 bit I have the problem. Whats up with that?
Speculation: It may well be a problem with PSE compatibility with Vista 64.  Many people run PSE 5.0.2 and later just fine on Vista 64, though Adobe refuses to provide customer support for it.  It's possible that Adobe quality assurance uncovered problems that they decided not to fix.  But on the other hand, I've often discovered problems by minor differences in "identical" software and hardware configs, e.g. supposedly identical desktops delivered by Dell on the same day with disks from different manufacturers and slightly different specs.

  • How can I install Photoshop Elements 13 on Vista?

I remember installing Photoshop 11 on my Vista pc, but can't remember how. Just purchased the upgrade and am unable to install. Please help!

    Hi,
Photoshop Elements 11 was compatible was Vista but Photoshop Elements 13 will not run on XP or Vista.
Your only option is to upgrade your system to Windows 7 or 8 I'm afraid.

  • Photoshop Elements 7 and Vista 64

I've installed PSE 7 on Vista Ultimate 64, and I can't get the Adobe Downloader to launch when I plug in my camera. Is this a limitation of Vista 64, or do I have it configured incorrectly?
    Thanks,
    Thane

I think Adobe's marketing practices with respect to Vista 64 are deceptive.
They have a distribution agreement with Dell, selling PSE 7 pre-installed on Vista 64 systems, e.g. the XPS 630.  They don't have an asterisk in the Dell shopping cart telling customers that Adobe won't support PSE 7, and a customer would have a quite reasonable expectation that PSE is supported.  I wonder if Dell knows that Adobe isn't supporting the pre-installed PSE?
Nowhere on Adobe's site do they say that PSE 7 is not supported on Vista 64.  The System Requirements page says:
    Microsoft® Windows® XP with Service Pack 2 or 3 or Windows Vista®
Certified for 32-bit version of Windows
Most typical users aren't going to interpret this as meaning that Vista 32 is required to receive support.  They won't have a clue as to what "Certified for 32-bit version of Windows" means.  If Adobe cared about its customers, it would just state plainly and clearly that Vista 32 is required.  For example, Nikon states clearly that the drivers for its popular Coolscan scanners require Vista 32.
This is typical of marketers trying to have it both ways. If the product had a bigger customer base, it would be fodder for slimy class-action lawyers.
We can offer support if you encounter issues, but only to the extend that we know it is the 64 bit system causing the issue.
If this is precisely what they said in your reply, this makes no sense.  I think what the support person meant was that they would provide support only to the extent that they know it is not the 64-bit system causing the issue.

  • Which version of PhotoShop Elements should I buy for Windows Vista Home Premium and from what source?

First time buying PhotoShop.  I need it for a project I'm involved with at my school, but I can't download Creative Cloud or PhotoShop Elements 13 because Vista is not supported by Adobe.  However, I find it easier to find a version more fit for my computer rather than upgrade it (I'll just be brief, it's not convenient AT THIS TIME for me to attempt to upgrade my PC, even if many believe it'd be better for me).
I was just planning on looking on Amazon for PhotoShop Elements PC boxes available and going with whatever version 11 or below that was at a good price.  Is this a good way to go or is there something special about purchasing CD's to download I need to be aware of?  Is buying from a source like Amazon rather than straight from Adobe putting me at risk for a phony version of PhotoShop Elements (though I was looking to buy a "new" box to avoid this if I can find some)?
I'm having trouble finding WHERE Adobe sells its products from its own website rather than Creative Cloud right now.  A link would very much be appreciated if such a place exists.  Thank you.

You can download a free trial version for PSE 10, 11 or 12 from this link:
    <Download Photoshop Elements products | 13, 12, 11, 10>
You can use this trial version for 30 days after which you will need to buy a boxed version from Amazon and use the serial number from the box to activate your trial version.
If, however, you complete your project in the next 30 days then you don't need to buy anything.  Money saved for something else.
    Good luck.

  • Can't find saved Photoshop Elements project

I am using Photoshop Elements 9 on Vista. During my attempts to create a slideshow, I've saved my project several times. When I try to reopen my saved project, it is not listed in Organizer. I just see my various slideshow attempts with this project. Where is the project? I've looked in the Elements 9 program folder and searched my hard drive.
Another problem is when I try to run my PDF slide show attempts (using Acrobat Reader 9), each one hangs on the final slide and I have to kill the process by using Windows Task Manager. Shouldn't it close automatically at the end or at least close with the Esc key?
Can someone please help? These problems are driving me crazy.

Saved slide shows are saved and available via the Organizer, and a thumbnail of your slide show should be visible along with the thumbnails of all your photos.  If you've having trouble finding it, you could search for it using Find > By Filename (enter the name you gave the slide show) or by doing View > Media Types, and unchecking all types except Projects.

  • Photoshop Elements - Probleme nach Katalog-Back-Up

    falsch...
    Kann jemand helfen?
    Danke!

I'm going to assume that you have reinstalled PSE9 but now want to get your catalog back. If you created your backup using the inbuilt PSE File> Backup Catalog feature, then in the newly installed version you would run File> Restore Catalog.
If you used a third party backup tool, or just copied the image files elsewhere then a lot will depend on whether or not you also backed up, or can still access, the catalog files. Give some more detail about this 'backup CD'.
