I am using Photoshop Elements 9 with an Epson R2880 printer.  Color photographs cannot be printed.  A message pops up stating  " ...the ICC profile is no longer installed". Only a  blank sheet of paper runs through the printer and I cannot print the photograph. Please help with the the location and process needed to install the ICC profile!!! I am a novice in this technical environment.

If you are using windows machine go here and you can find ICC profile to download.  http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4075

  • Photoshop Elements 8 & ICC Profiles.

Photoshop Elements 8 is not showing all the sets of color profiles for my printer Cannon Pixma Pro 9000.
    OS: Mac 10.6
    Product: Photoshop Elements 8
Printer : Cannon Pixma Pro 9000

Can you try checking this same with any other app? Also do check in the printer preferences of the printer properties etc.

  • Photoshop Elements 11 - 'Monitor Profile Defective' Message

When opening Editor in Photoshop Elements 11, I get the warning message "The Monitor profile 'Dell S2240L Colour Profile, D65' appears to be defective. Please rerun your monitor calibration software".
I have recently upgraded from Windows 8 to 8.1 and also had to download DirectPlay when opening PE 11. Before upgrading, PE11 worked fine for over a year on same desktop and monitor (both only 1 year old). Driver monitor is up to date.
Please can someone tell me the possible cause and my options. I have seen lots of posts on this and other forums but not sure which is the right answer. Could 8.1 upgrade have caused it by changing a setting or is that just coincidence? Would re-install of PE11 make any difference?
Would appreciate help as this is infuriating (also happened on my old desktop with earlier version of PE)!
    Thanks.

PSE doesn’t like your monitor profile, for some reason.  It would seem that either your monitor profile is defective or PSE11 cannot read the monitor profile, now.
Try changing it to sRGB and see if the message stops:
    http://www.lightroomforums.net/showthread.php?14070-How-to-assign-an-sRGB-ICC-Profile-to-y our-monitor-(Windows)
The instructions are for Windows 7, so instead of what the very first screenshot shows, to search for Color Management, right-click on the Win 8.1 Start button and choose Control Panel, then choose View By: Large Icons and click on Color Management.

  • Assigning ICC profile to an AI or EPS document (that has no profile)

    Hi
    I´m using Illustrator CS6.
I have some AI and EPS files without embed ICC profiles.
I´m trying to write a JavaScript that opens each document, assign the working ICC profile then save and close.
Have already done everything about opening and closing. It´s perfect.
The problem is the embeding ICC profile. Reading Illustrator JavaScript reference I did not find any method I could use to assign an ICC profile to the activeDocument.
Can you confirm it´s really not possible? (to assign an ICC profile to the opened topmost document)
    Thank you a lot
    Gustavo.

    Hi Muppet
Yes the polices work for files that originally has an embed profile. But considering EPS without a profile, it opens in Illustrator as "untagged RGB" or "untagged CMYK"...so the ended AI file wont have a profile!
Will make some other tests here. Altought a little crazy, I found a solution working this way:
    1. After opening the EPS, I made a function to unlock all layers and sublayers.
    2. Another function to unlock all pageItems then select it (so All pageItems are selected).
    3. Used app.copy();
    4. Added a new blank document that already comes with the working profile.
    5. Used app.paste(); to paste in the new document.
    6. Used the method to fit the artboard to the selection
    7. Saved as AI file
    8. Remove the EPS file using File.remove();
It worked and got what I was expected to have as result. However some EPS had a lot of element..then it tooks a long time to select everything and copy A little crazy but solved my problem hahaha
    Best Regards
    Gustavo.

  • Photoshop Elements 9 monitor profile is defective in Windows 8.1

I'm using Windows 8.1 and  Photoshop Elements 9.  When I start the program I get the message "The monitor profile [name] appears to be defective.  Please rerun your monitor calibration software."  How do I do this?  Apparently Adobe Gamma is obsolete for this problem.  Also, the forum only talks about Photoshop 6.0-7x and Windows versions prior to 8.1.

Please check if the downloads are the full size, and not somehow truncated.
    PhotoshopElements_9_LS15.exe : 1.16 MB = 1,199 KB = 1,227,128 bytes
    PhotoshopElements_9_LS15.7z : 1.75 GB = 1,838,906 KB = 1,883,039,681 bytes

  • I am trying to  understand how Photoshop deals with ICC profiles

I have an Epson 3880 printer, which I am trying to master.   I am printing with either Photoshop CS2 or Photoshop CS5.   I would like to u nderstand where the profiles for particular papers are kept.
For example, in principle, I can go to the Epson website and download profiles.   But I don't understand the nomeclature I see there.  Thus, there are several different categories.  I started with the first and downloaded the one for Epson Hot Press Bright Paper
I get an archive which contains an executable file, which when run asks me if I want to extract the contents.  I run it and it completes, but I don't know what it put where.
So first of all, where does Photoshop keep profiles for different printer using different papers?
Second of all, where did that program put the files it supposedly extracted?  What does Hot Press Birght Paper mean?  Where are the profiles for the standard Epson papers?  Are there explicit profiles for using the 3880 with different papers, e.g., premimum glossy photo paper.   Where do I find them?
(I think I have software for viewing a profile if I can find it.)
    Anything more of interest?

Photoshop does not keep profiles anywhere.
Profiles are managed by the OS.
Photoshop shows the available profiles in it's UI, and gets the list of available profiles from the OS.
What does Hot Press Birght Paper mean?
That the profile applies to a particular paper, probably called "hot press bright" paper.
Yes, you will have a profile for each printer and type of paper -- you have to in order to describe how the image will appear on each printer and type of paper.

  • ICC Profiles in the new Camera Profile Editor

    Hi Folks,
I'm wondering if anyone knows why we aren't (yet) able to assign ICC profiles directly in the Camera Raw module, rather than working from the profile editor? Is this essentially a proprietary technology or trademark issue, and thus not something to be implemented into ACR in the future?
By all means, feel free to add any background to this conversation that you wish - I'm admittedly ignorant on the trade issues involved here, and certainly don't wish to add any ill will. Just looking to understand how these (still) emergent technologies are shaking out and interfacing with the ACR workflow.
    Thanks

    Ah, indeed. Thanks R.
And for those interested, here's a great response, courtesy of the one and only Mr. F:

That said, all other follow-ups welcomed, though my own question is answered.

  • ICC profile description is invalid

I loaded PSE 8 on my Dell M1530 running Vista.  Whenever I try to start PS8 I get "could not initialize Photoshop because the ICC profile description is invalid" and the program quits.  I've tried removing and reinstalling PSE8 and it still errors.  Any idea what I can do?

There are three steps in installing a color profile in Windows. First they have to be in your system32 (or syswow whatever\spool\drivers\color folder. Then as you have done you run the install. But then you have to register the profile for the device type (display\printer\etc.).
I think placing the color space profiles has already been covered in another reply.
You have already reset preferences so PSE has rebuilt its cache of scripts and resources.
Switch the default monitor profile in Win color management applet to another to another one just to see if that solves your problem. PSE doesn't offer a choice of display profile so I imagine it uses your set default.
Also there are two profile version types. Version 4 trips uup some applications especially for printing. Version 2 should be used for displays and works best for printers as well.
These Win utilties will show the version type:
    http://www.color.org/resource2.xalter get
ICC Profile Inspector - opens an ICC profiles and makes the contents readable
Profile Dump - an example utility built using SampleICC that reads profiles and checks them for conformance
In each you'll see the complete version number. In one of those two you have to switch thefile type to .icm or .icc. The other shows both.

  • ICC Profiles and Photoshop Elements 10

Photoshop Elements 10 will not bring up any of the ICC Profiles downloaded for my Epson Stylus 1280.  I have photos of the PSE Screen shot showing paper types "NONE" under change settings.  And under Printer Settings:  Paper Type shows "UNKNOWN".
Whats going on with my PSE 10 and RR ICC Profiles?

    Hi ,
    go to C:\Windows\System32\spool\drivers\color
and copy icc profiles to  C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Color\Profiles
    Mac- \Users\Library\ColorSync\Profiles folder
By this PSE will show the list of icc profiles.

  • Why cant I access any ICC Profiles in my Photoshop Elements 10

I have installed Red River ICC Profiles as directed.  Photoshop Elements 10 will allow me to choose the profiles for my canon printer, however, it will not allow me to choose "ANY" ICC profiles for my Epson Stylus 1280.   Whats going on?  I didnt have this problem with PSE 7, which I no longer have.

    Hi Ron,
    I have found the solution!
Indeed I had to extend my access-list on my outside interface!!!
    I have succeeded using ASDM.
First I created a NEW network object for each of my servers. When you create a new object you will be asked for the internal IP address and "this is where the magic happens" you have to set the NAT IP address (the external address) !!!
Secondly I extended my access-list on my outside interface by defining every server and the required service (echo, echo-reply) in the "Public server list". When I performed these 2 steps I was able to ping the server from the internet.
My access-list looks the following now:
    access-list OutsideToInside extended permit icmp any4 object SERVER2003 object-group DM_INLINE_ICMP_2
    access-list OutsideToInside extended permit icmp any4 object SERVER2002 object-group DM_INLINE_ICMP_1
    access-list OutsideToInside extended permit icmp any4 object SERVER2004 object-group DM_INLINE_ICMP_0
    object network SERVER2004
     nat (inside,outside) static 82.94.xxx.xxx
    object network SERVER2002
     nat (inside,outside) static 82.94.xxx.xxx
    object network SERVER2003
     nat (inside,outside) static 82.94.xxx.xxx

  • Can you help me open or access a Blurb ICC profile in Photoshop Elements 7 On a Winows PC ?

Hi. I am starting my first Blurb book and downloaded their Blurb ICC profile. I am using Photoshop Elements 7 to edit my photographs on my Windows PC.
When I select downloads, open with PSE 7, a window opens and says " Editor Photoshop 7    Cannot open Download / Blurb - ICC - profile icc because it is the wrong type of file". Any ideas would be appreciated.   Terry

Color profiles are installed via your system's color mangement options. This has nothing to do with Elements as such. Copy the file into C:\Windows\System32\Spool\Drivers\Color or use the graphics settings for your monitor or your printer options to add it.

  • How to add ICC profiles to Photoshop Elements 10

My ICC profiles are showing up in my LR 4, however, they will not show up in PSE 10.   What do I need to do to add the profiles into PSE 10?

    Hi,
The version of Camera Raw that you reported should support the S100 CR2 images.
If you load the editor, go to the File menu and select Open, then point to the file, are you saying that it displays the error message?
Have you tried opening the file with Canon's Zoombrowser?
Which operating system are you running on?

  • Missing profile in Photoshop Elements

    Dear all,
Recently, when I open a file (jpeg or psd) with my Photoshop Elements, it always pops up a "Missing Profile" warning box, saying "This file does not have a color profile associated with it, what would you like to do? Leave it as it is (Don't color manager), Assign adobe RGB or Assign sRGB"
How can I fix this problem?
    Any help is much appreciated.
    Many thanks~

The answer is to assign the profile that the file should have been saved with.
JPGs and PSDs should have been saved with a color profile and some of what you’ve been working with have not been saved properly, so PSE is asking you when you open them what to use.
If these are your own images taken with a camera then you should know what the profile was set in the camera as well as if you’ve converted from one profile to another in PSE.
If these are images from somewhere else, then maybe the source can tell you what profile they were saved with.  If you have no way of asking or knowing then try each of AdobeRGB and sRGB and see which one looks better.
An image that should be AdobeRGB but is wrongly assigned sRGB will look faded and greenish.  An image that should be sRGB but wrongly assigned AdobeRGB will look oversaturated a little.  The differences may be subtle but one version should look better to you.
If these are your images, then always save them with a color profile so you won’t lose track of it and have to guess in the future.  If these are someone else’s images, then talk to the other person and see if you can get them to assign the proper color profile to them.

  • Elements 7 (Trial) doesn't recognize ICC profiles in computer

I downloaded Elements 7 for a 30 day trial to see whether it does better than Elements 5 for my purposes.  I have Windows XP.  While trying to do a test print, in the Print Window I set Photoshop Manages Color under Color Handling. I then clicked the drop down menu for Printer Profile and that menu does not contain any of the ICC profiles in the Colors folder in my computer, but only has those profiles that must come with Elements 7.  Do I need to do something to get this to work? Is it a problem with the trial version?  Adobe Support will not answer questions over the phone for the trial version, although I asked.  Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks.

Dear John - You graciously replied to our thread last week about ICC profile
list in Elements 7.  We were wondering whether you could help with another
more general problem we're having.  We have not been able to get what we see
on our monitor and what we get out of our printer to reasonably match - the
prints are always significantly darker than the monitor.  It makes working
on Photoshop Elements virtually worthless, as we can't rely on getting out
what we see after making adjustments to our photos.  We bought a Colormunki
to calibrate the monitor and create paper profiles, but that didn't solve
the problem and we have worked with the Colormunki people for weeks and
haven't made any progress.  We have an Epson Stylus Photo R2400 printer and
a Samsung SyncMaster 2253BW monitor.  We think, at this point, that the
monitor maybe the problem - apparently it is known for its excessive
brightness - as even with the calibration set for very low brightness, the
problem remains.  Anyway, our question is whether you can recommend a
monitor more likely to give us a reliable match to the printer - what
photographers/photoshop  users use??  alternatively, any ideas where we can
contact people who might be able to help????  Thanks in advance for your
    help.
