There is a problem with IE10+ in that it is mistakenly seen as being IE1.  To get around this either use a different browser or use compatibility view (http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/internet-explorer/use-compatibility-view#ie=ie-10)

  • Opening/Closing Photoshop Elements 13

After exiting Photoshop Elements 13, when I want to re-open, the main menu page opens, but when I click on "Organizer", nothing happens. When I open Windows Task Manager, there are two Elements Organizer and 1 Photoshop processes still running. When I close those processes, then I can open the application OK.

After unzipping Photoshop Elements 13, I received a error message saying
that PSE had detected an impending shutdown of my computer, and that I
should shutdown and restart the computer.  I had two button choices:
ignore or quit.  Given those choices, I quit, then shutdown the computer
and restarted.  I again unzipped PSE and attempted an install.  This time I
got a error message saying an installer was already running and I should
shut it down.  Having no clue as to how to shut down an installer, I
attempted (FOR 6 HOURS) to obtain assistance from Adobe technical support
and either waited for a return call, waited on hold, attempted to
communicate with someone who I could not understand from India, or was told
technical support was not available on the phone for PSE.  I finally gave
up and went to Chat.  There, attempting to explain what the problem was,
(see above), I guess I took too long to respond, the chatter closed the
chat, and I was not able to reconnect to chat.  After 5 attempts were
denied, I contacted a friend who has computer operations experience.  After
an hour of attempting various things, he told me to hit "ignore".  PSE
installed correctly and I'm now using it.  This was an extremely shoddy
performance by Adobe -- first a glitch in the install process, and then no
    help from tech support.

  • Photoshop Elements 12 will not restart after closing.

I am running Windows 7 Ultimate.  If I close Photoshop Elements 12, it will not restart.
To get it to restart, I have to open the Windows Task Manager and then stop the process "PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe *32".
Once I stop this process, then Photoshop Elements 12 will restart.
Is there a know solution for this?

Try making a direct desktop icon for the Editor which will bypass the welcome screen.
Right click anywhere on the desktop and select New >> Shortcut
    Browse to Computer OS C:
And find the PSE Editor application in Program Files or Program Files (x86) on Windows 7 - 64 bit.
    C: >> Program Files (x86) >> Adobe >> Photoshop Elements 12
Within the Photoshop Elements 12 folder find PhotoshopElementsEditor (the application not the Adobe shortcut)
Select that file and click Next.
    Then click Finish.
You should now be able to launch by double-clicking on the new desktop icon and hopefully the application will close correctly.

  • Photoshop Elements 12 Editor (Mac) doesn't get closed when I quit

Again I try to report a problem with Photoshop Elements 12 (upgraded from PSE 10) Editor on OS X 10.8.5. Now in English. I am German, so please excuse me when I don't use the correct termini. Hope you're able to understand my problem.
After using the Editor I try to close the program: Close the window and press ⌘Q. But most of the time I can't close but have to press "quit immediately" in the dialogue window of the dock-icon. Have reinstalled several times, doesn't help.
Other user out there with same problem?

Hi Priyanka_Azad (nice to see a guitar lover),
Could you try using the menu to quit the Application, it is the last option under "Photoshop Elements Editor" Menu and not the shortcut.
Yes, I have tried this, but makes no difference...
Also, as you have mentioned you see this issue "most of the times".
Does that mean that it works fine at times as well?
    Very rare, indeed.
    To Priyanka_Azad, Barbara B. and Pete.Green,
    a step forward, concerning welcome-screen:
Now I know what causes the dissappearing of welcome-screen. It's the update "Photoshop Camera Raw 8.2". Meanwhile I had uninstalled PSE 12, installed PSE 10 again (everything still fine there), uninstalled PSE 10 again, installed PSE 12 again. Then I recognized that before I update to Raw 8.2 the welcome-screen works. So far I have waived to update.
Very simple mistake, that I did. I had moved application into dock, not the alias of the application. Now, when I start with alias, welcome-screen works as it should. Unfortunately no influence on my "Quit"-problem.

  • Photoshop Elements 10 won't open once closed unless computer rebooted

On a Windows 7 64 bit pc if I close Photoshop Elements 10 it won't open again unless I reboot the PC.  Any ideas?
    Thanks.

Thanks.  That solution seems to work for me.  It's sort of interesting so'll I'll add some other notes for posterity.  I had set the Welcome screen to go directly to the Organizer.  So, I was skipping the Welcome screen but not directly through the shortcut as recommended by p.hotodrawken
When I open from the normal shortcut PE 10 spawns six processes:
    Adobe QT32Server.exe *32
    ElementsAutoAnalyzer.exe
    PhotoshopElements 10.0.exe *32
    PhotoShopElementsFileAgent.exe *32
    PhotoShopElementsFileAgent.exe *32
    PhotoShopElementsOrganizer.exe *32
    PhotoShopServer.exe
When I shutdown by either File Exit or clicking the "X" these processes are left running.  If I manually kill the processes using task manager or reboot then PE 10 will restart.
    Adobe QT32Server.exe *32
    ElementsAutoAnalyzer.exe
    PhotoshopElements 10.0.exe *32
    PhotoShopElementsFileAgent.exe *32
    PhotoShopElementsFileAgent.exe *32
    PhotoShopServer.exe
When I open directly from the executable path fewer processes are loaded and they still don't all shutdown.  But, the organizer will reopen from the shortcut even if they're orphan processes are present.
    Startup directly to Organizer:
    Adobe QT32Server.exe *32
    ElementsAutoAnalyzer.exe
    PhotoShopElementsOrganizer.exe *32
    Shutdown from Organizer:
    Adobe QT32Server.exe *32
    ElementsAutoAnalyzer.exe
Thanks Ken for your help.  It will be interesting to see if Adobe fixes the bug.  But, I won't hold my breath.

  • Re-booting to start Photoshop elements after closing.

After installing the trail version of Photoshop Elements 11, why do I have to re-boot the computer to get the program to start after each time I close out of the program? Running Windows 7.

We cannot know. This is a "crash on exit" and without some detailed system information as well as the relevant details from the System Event Viewer nobody can even begin to guess. Or in otrher words: It's a problem with your system not terminating the processes correctly, not a general failure in the software.

  • I installed Photoshop Elements 13 which appreared to do fine. Everytime I try to open it I get the message "Photoshop has quit working, closed the program

Original CD Program with reg-number Win7 64bithome 8mb ram, i have re-install the program, and cancelled all reg. but nothing change. How can i use this program. One week ago it was normal, but since 3 days i can not work. I have the Lightroom 5 on my computer - there no problems.

Try deleting the prefs which will get re-built to the default status.
    Go to:
    C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 13
Find PhotoshopElementsEditor (see image below) and hold down the three keys Ctrl+ Alt+Shift (not Ctrl+Alt+Delete) then right click on the editor application and choose Open.
Keep all three keys pressed until you see the settings dialog and then release.
Click on Yes and the program should launch.

  • Using Adobe Bridge with Photoshop Elements

I have an iMAC with iLife 08.
I take photos in RAW format with a Nikon camera.
I have been editing photos this way:
After uploading photos to iPhoto, export them as jpg to a new folder on the desktop, external HD or wherever. I open Photoshop Elements, edit the exported photo.
Then I'm stuck with my edits outside of iPhoto, unless I then import them back into iPhoto. It works, but it's cumbersome.
Today I thought I'd try a different route. I opened Photoshop Elements, and tried to use Bridge to browse photos. I can find the iPhoto library easy enough, but if I click on it, it opens iPhoto, and I'm stuck - can't open the photos in Photoshop.
I am hoping that if I do it correctly, I can save my edits directly back into iPhoto.
    Any ideas?

Using Photoshop (or Photoshop Elements) as Your Editor of Choice in iPhoto.
1 - select Photoshop as your editor of choice in iPhoto's General Preference Section's under the "Edit photo:" menu.
2 - double click on the thumbnail in iPhoto to open it in Photoshop. When you're finished editing click on the Save button. If you immediately get the JPEG Options window make your selection (Baseline standard seems to be the most compatible jpeg format) and click on the OK button. Your done.
3 - however, if you get the navigation window that indicates that PS wants to save it as a PS formatted file. You'll need to either select JPEG from the menu and save (top image) or click on the desktop in the Navigation window (bottom image) and save it to the desktop for importing as a new photo.
This method will let iPhoto know that the photo has been editied and will update the thumbnail file to reflect the edit..
If you want to use both iPhoto's editing mode and PS without having to go back and forth to the Preference pane, once you've selected PS as your editor of choice, reset the Preferences back to "Open in main window". That will let you either edit in iPhoto (double click on the thumbnail) or in PS (Control-click on the thumbnail and seledt "Edit in external editor" in the Contextual menu). This way you get the best of both worlds
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • Using iPhoto 08 with Photoshop elements

I am a recent Mac convert and I'm loving it.
However, I need some help understanding how best to use Photoshop Elements in conjunction with iPhoto 08. I was thinking I could use iPhoto to keep track of photos and do basic edits and link to other iLife apps etc, and use Photoshop to do more indepth editing.
I would like to know the most efficient way to open photos from inside iPhoto, into Photoshop. And how to get them back into iPhoto.
I realise I can drag a photo and create a copy on to the desk top and then open it with Photoshop, do some editing, save it to a/any folder, then import it back into iPhoto but…
    1) is there a better way to do this?
    2) I'm concerned with filling up my hard drive with multiple copies!
I'd be greatful for any help, Thanks

  • Installing Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 without Discs

I recently purchased Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 on amazon.com.  The product was shipped to me with installl discs.  The problem is that my Mac does not have a DVD drive.  Is there a way to install the product online using the serial numbers on the packaging?  Any suggetions would be greatly appreciated!

    Try http://prodesigntools.com/photoshop-elements-10-direct-download-links-pse-premiere-pre.htm l
Follow the Very Important Instructions on that page closely otherwise the download links will not work.
Once you've successfully installed, backup the file. There's no guarantee it'll be there next time you need it.
Alternatively, you can always purchase a cheap external DVD drive and connect it via USB to install software. That's what I sometimes do with my MacBook Air.

  • Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 freezes on startup

    Hi,
I am having issues with Adobe Photoshop Elements 10, When I first load the software, it asks me if I want to use the "Organize" or the "Edit". When I choose "Edit", it loads the program, but I am unable to click on any options or toolbars as it freezes for around 3 minutes (says not responding) until it eventually kicks in and loads, I am then able to use the software perfectly.
On startup, is it trying to run updates or talk to Adobe for any reason, and can I turn this off?
Also, has anyone had the same problem? Help would be appreciated!
    Thanks
    Ian

OK let’s deal with the Editor. The editor saved prefs often get corrupted. You may need to rebuild the editor preferences to resolve any conflicts.
Hold down the Ctrl+Shift+Alt keys and simultaneously click on the Edit button on the welcome screen. Release the three keys and look behind the welcome screen by closing it. Or hold down the keys whilst double clicking on the desktop icon for PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe
You should see a pop up box with the words: Delete Adobe Photoshop Elements Settings File?
    Click on Yes
Wait whilst it rebuilds the preferences.

Have a look at this Adobe Tech doc titled Photoshop CS3 or Photoshop Elements 6 crashes when you open more than one image (Windows):

  • I purchased and downloaded Photoshop Elements 13, but the installer fails to initialise. How do I get it to work?

I have Photoshop Elements 10 and Premier Elements 10 installed on my PC. Both were installed from discs that I bought a few years ago. I recently purchased the upgrade (by download) for both applications to version 13. In accordance with the (scant) instructions received by email, I downloaded the four files required from the Adobe site. I subsequently ran the .exe files, which in turn created directories on my PC, including set-up.exe files for both applications. When I run the setup files, I get an error message stating that the installer failed to initialise. The error message advised me to download the Adobe Support Advisor to detect the problem. That tool does not exist. I then sought assistance from the Abobe support site, initially using the hyperlink suggestions, which were of no use, then using the chat function. The operator kept trying to get me to do something with something called 'Creative Cloud'; which I am not familiar with, and do not use. He then instructed me to download and run a CS5 cleaner tool; however, none of the choices offered by that tool include my issue, or either Photoshop Elements or Premier Elements. I am reluctant to uninstall version 10 of the programs in case I end up losing the lot and therefore wasting even more money than the purchase price for this upgrade.
All I want to do is upgrade my two applications from version 10 to version 13. I have paid the requisite fee but it clearly does not work. I appear to have totally wasted my money. Can anyone please tell me how to get it to work? I do not want to have anything to do with the so-called ‘Creative Cloud’ as I have no idea what it is, and I do not want to lose what I already have (and have paid for previously).
I have tried for a few days to access the so-called 24/7 chat assistance but appeared to have been locked out as every time I try to access it, I get a message that the (24/7) chat is closed. Adobe has taken my money for a product that does not work, and also refuse to help me fix it.
I am very frustrated with a product I bought that does not work, and a 24/7 support service that clearly is not 24/7, and which refuses to assist me. Can anyone PLEASE tell me how to get this to work? Rod.

    Hi,
Can you please share the logs?
You can use the Adobe  Log Collector tool (Log Collector Tool) and share the corresponding zip file @ [email protected]

  • Wrong Photoshop Elements catalog in iTunes to sync with iPhone

    Hi,
I am using windows XP, latestversion of iTunes and Photoshop Elements 5 (PSE5).
I use several catalogs, one per each company I work for, and one entirely for personal pictures. The personal pictures catalog is the one I want to have automatically synchronized with iPhone, however, even though it is the "active" catalog that opens by default in Photoshop Elements, iTunes detects an other catalog and I want to change this so iTunes refers to the correct catalog. I tried restarting the PC after loading the desired catalog in PSE5 and closing it, and iTunes still refers to one of my work catalogs that I don't wish to use.
Any clue how to do this.
I could of course, have iTunes point to a specific folder, export the images from my personal catalog to that specific folder and do so every time I need to add pictures to my iPhone. This involves doing the image export and transfer manually every time, instead of automatically having the desired images added to the iPhone during sync, after they were tagged in PSE5 with the appropriate tag.
    Thanks!

    Hi there.
Thanks for the response. Just to clarify, what is this and where can I find it? Finder Help had nothing to say about it, and Google just led me to this page:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1865
which strongly recommended me not to mess with it.
I really do need to make this old email account go away, I just need to make sure that I don't make the problem worse in the process. Thanks in advance for any help, just want to be extra careful here.
