Why do some pictures, copied to the pc, not show up in Photofun Studio 5/Photoshop Elements 8?

Hey,
Photoshop Elements Organizer doesn't automatically import media into its catalog (unless your are using Watch folders functionality). Media which you have on your PC, you need to import first in Organizer and then you can go ahead with Organizer.
For automatically importing from one/more folders, please use Watch folders funtionality. You can access this from File->watch folders and then add the folders which you want to watch.
Please let me know if you were referring to something else.

Photoshop Elements 10 becomes non-responsive when using Dust & Scratch filter

Trying to apply the remove dust & noise filter in PS Elements 10. When the filter is applied, the hand tool becomes locked on and nothing further can be selected. All menu options become greyed out. Cannot even close program, have to force quit (running Mac OS X Lion 10.7.4). Have already reset all tool options to try & resolve the hand tool locking. Have only encountered problem with this filter.
I've got a bunch of scanned photos I really need to use the Dust & Scratches filter for. Any help would be appreciated!

I have windows xp and photoshop elements 6.

I am having problems with cropping. Program won't switch from 5x7 to 7x5 or vice versa. Can I install the disk over the present program or should I uninstall and then reinstall from the disk?

Try the following:
On the crop tool's option bar, top left, there is an arrow or icon (depends on version).
Click on that, and reset the tool.
Now, see if it works.
If it does not, suggest that you delete preferences:

Photoshop Elements 9 mac license number on windows not working

I would like to install Photoshop Elements 9 on my Windows PC, I successfully deactivated Photoshop on my old mac, but the installer on windows keeps telling me that the serial number is invalid.

How do I display RAW photos from Photoshop Elements 11 on Apple TV?

Ever since I got my Apple TV 3rd gen I have been able to simply turn on itunes and stream my albums from photoshop without an issue. The shots are mostly RAW and came out perfectly on the big screen. They also still appear on my ipad without any issues at all. However... Yesterday I switched on the PC and Apple TV and where the raw shots had been there are now just blank spaces in every album. They are all numbered so Apple is recognising where the files are and counting them but none can be displayed. I am now reading that Apple TV can't read raw files but I'm not going mad, I have bored dozens to death with my slîde shows so I must have done something or updated something which has thrown a spanner in the works

Home sharing is on PC, iphone 4, original ipad with same passwords
All albums/raw shots are viewable on PC and ipad
I have reset everything...repeatedly
When googling this I find no one with the same issue!

You can either drag them in Organizer workspace or import the folder. Or you can also use Adobe Photo Downloader. There are many options listed here http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop-elements/getting-started/import-camera-or-card-reader.htm l

Photoshop Elements 10 - 'Save As' text no longer displaying existing file, which matches the text so far entered

Photoshop Elements 10 (On Windows 8.1 64-bit laptop)
Until recently, 'save as' showed any existing file name, which exactly matched the text so far typed.
That's particularly useful when creating multiple photo files, with suffixes of '(1)', '(2)', etc.
Suddenly that great facility has stopped, forcing me to always type the complete file name for each new item.
I assume that a setting has been lost.
How do I get it back?

I held the keys down for at least 15 seconds in my previous attempts.
I’ve just tried the entries, holding the keys for around 30 seconds, with the same results (or lack of same).
Thinking about my thought of copying the Preference settings from the same program on my desktop, I looked on the Internet for Photoshop Elements 10 Preferences file locations. I found a display, which suggested: C:\Users\user name\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Photoshop Elements (9.0\10.0\11.0)\Editor
From that, it appears that mine may be held in:
C:\Users\Fred Niven\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Photoshop Elements\10.0\Editor
But I’m reluctant to copy any such file from my Windows 8.1 desktop’s Photoshop Elements 10’s file(s),
to replace the equivalent file(s) on this laptop, until I know that I’m replacing the correct file(s).
I’d create a System Restore Point beforehand anyway, just-in-case.

Using photoshop elements 9 as an external editor - after saving in Photoshop the results do not display in Aperture

I set up my external editor as Photoshop Elements 9, I follow the instructions to edit a selected image in the external editor. When finished editing in Photoshop, I hit Save (not Save As), and go back to Aperture, and the work I did in Photoshop does not display in Aperture. Is there anything else I need to do to make the work I did in Photoshop display in Aperture?

I had the same problem with PSE 10, and this soution worked for me. Thanks. But is this the real answer? Isn't there a way to save the file without having to add an "f" to the suffix? It doesn't seem to make sense to me. Is it an Aperture problem or PSE? I went to the Apple store amnd the so-called aperture/photoshop expert spent an hour trying to figure it out and finally got the answer by reading this post!!!

Photoshop Elements 10 - Corrupt Display

Good evening -
   I finally broke down and bought a new DSLR camera. Now, I only need an editing software to tighten up the images. The only problem I am having is that Photoshop Elements 10 (and 9) GUI does not want to play well with my current rig.
Key components:
1) Win7 Ultimate 64
2) eVGA 460 1GB
3) Matrox 3H2Go with 3x22" lcds
No matter what I try to do, the menu bars are corrupt upon opening PE.   I have tried eliminating any desktop themes, GPU driver is most current, hardware acceleration off etc etc.
Any thoughts as to what might be going on? I am sure it's related to scaling of the GUI with the Matrox Triplehead display.   It's the only program I have issues with in terms of working in this 3 monitor setup.
   I have 29 days to nail this issue before I have to wait until release 11 comes out
Notice the menu bar is transparent?   I am looking for any suggestions.

The editor prefs often get corrupted. You may need to rebuild the editor preferences to resolve any conflicts.
Hold down the Ctrl+Shift+Alt keys and simultaneously click on the Edit button on the welcome screen. Release the three keys and look behind the welcome screen by closing it. Or hold down the keys whilst double clicking on PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe
You should see a pop up box with the words: Delete Adobe Photoshop Elements Settings File?
Click on Yes
Close down Elements and re-open it in the normal way - then wait whilst it rebuilds the preferences.

I have the newest Macbook pro with retina display, I recently installed Photoshop elements 11 and have noticed that elements 11 is very pixelated. Is there a way to fix this, or is elements 11 just not compatible with the new retina?

Need help getting pics from Adobe Starter Edition to Photoshop Elements 10!!!

I had Adobe Photoshop Starter Edition already installed on my computer when I bought it. I hadn't used it in quite a while because my camera was broken. I recently got a new camera. I tried to export my pics to my computer and as soon as it came up my pics immediately went to Adobe Photoshop Starter Edition. It wants me to put in a registration code which I don't have because it is no longer a working product. I talked to someone in chat and they said to install Photoshop Elements and I should be able to get them into the new program. I've installed that and I still can't figure out how to do it when the starter edition won't let me do anything without a registration key!!!!!!!!!!! I want my pics back!!! These pics are precious to me.....the sad part is I clicked on the box to NOT erase them from my camera....and it erased them anyways. Can someone please help???

Your pictures are not really in the starter edition program.
From an adobe employee Mark Dahm:
"It is a common misconception that Starter Edition 'stores', or copies, your files into it. But the program does not move or copy files at all, rather it scans your system's My Pictures directory, and generates miniature versions of your pictures (called thumbnails) so that you can browse a 'flat' list of thumbnails of your photos, overcoming the inconvenience of having to go into separate folders in Windows Explorer to have to find files.The thumbnails, as well as any tags, and Albums that you create in Starter Edition are all stored in the Photoshop Album catalog file, separate from your pictures, and your pictures remain where you originally copied them to your computer.
If you use Photoshop Album to subsequently download files from a digital camera or scanner, the default location where the program will create those files would be in the My Pictures>Digital Camera Photos folder. But if you do NOT use Photoshop Album Starter edition to download files from your camera, then you will find that folder empty.
The thumbnails in the Starter Edition catalog will exist, even if you decide to move or delete the original photos that were added to the program. This will cause files in the Photoshop Album catalog to become 'disconnected' from the original photos. To reconnect the files, you can use the File>Reconnect Missing files command to see if the program can locate the original files in a new location, and once again re-link the catalog thumbnails to the files they once referenced.
Since Photoshop Album has been discontinued, I recommend that folks find an alternative solution. One alternative that will preserve most of what you've created in Starter Edition is the Photoshop Elements 8 trial. Install that, and it will automatically convert the Photoshop Album catalog to a current format, and the program will not time out, as Starter Edition did. If you want to purchase more Editing power, you can also choose to purchase the full program, but it's not required.
If you are like many who have come to this forum wondering how you can get to your photos, now that the program has become locked or expired, don't worry; your photos have never been moved by Photoshop Album; they remain wherever you intially put them, on your hard drive. To get to them, you can navigate your file system using Windows Explorer. They are typically in your My Documents>My Pictures folder. Does Adobe Photoshop Elements work with MacBook Pro with Retina display, please?
Have searched Adobe website for answer - most recent is 2013 answer, saying no.
Contradicted by a staff ember who only referred to Photoshop, not Elements.
Reason I need it is that iPhoto does not support very high resolution photos - which I have now scanned onto my MacBook and do not want to re-scan!! After 90 minutes at my local Genius bar (lovely folk, very conscientiously searching for an answer...), re-scanning was their final piece of advice.
Help, please...

I understand you are having issues with your HP Monitor on your MAC. I am providing you with an HP Support document: Updating a Monitor Driver, where it states under the sub-heading Using HP monitors on a Mac "HP monitors are not supported in a Mac environment. However, newer Macs use graphics with VESA modes and can display to most HP LCD monitors. To do this, connect the monitor to the Mac while the Mac is off, and then turn on the MAC. The monitor should operate at 60Hz. The INF and software for the HP monitor are for Microsoft Windows and cannot be run in a standard MAC OS environment."
This being said all I can advise is that you check to see that the monitor is set to operat at 60Hz and contact Apple for assistance if that does not get your monitor displaying correctly.

Now, in photoshop elements 9 when editing, colours displayed are not correct, seems gama number has changes ?

up to now I had no problem when editing photos with photoshop elements 9. Due to an unknown reason/event the colours displayed , now, are not correct : it looks like the gama adjustment has been changed and the photo rendition is uncorrect. If I display the same photos with other photo editing software ( DPP from Canon for example, or Xnview) , the colours are correct !!... Can you help me ?

Thank you for trying to help me. In fact, I resolved my problem by changing the default ICC profile for my screen : I entered the parameters settings panel, screen definition and then advanced settings where I could choose another ICC profile.

Photoshop Elements 9 Organizer - will not display when loaded

Can anyone help with this please?. I am new to PE9 (running under Windows 7 64-bit OS). When I start the Organizer via the Edit/Organizer menu, it loads onto the taskbar but nothing appears on the screen. Floating the mouse cursor over the taskbar icon displays the opening screen in miniature but most times nothing appears on screen. If I click on the mini display then sometimes the main display does appear but immediately disappears as soon as the mouse cursor is moved off the taskbar display.
I can usually get the Organizer to load by starting the Editor first (via the menu) and then clicking on 'Organizer' tab in the Editor.
To me, this is very strange behaviour!

Try making a direct desktop icon for the Organizer and see if you can launch the program directly from the desktop.
Right click anywhere on the desktop and select New >> Shortcut
Browse to Computer OS C:
And find the PSE Organizer application in Program Files (x86)
Inside the Adobe >> Elements 9 Organizer (yellow folder) you are looking for an application file “PhotoshopEementsOrganizer” with small icons (e.g. representing thumbnails)
Click image to enlarge
Select it and click OK
Click next
Rename by taking out Photoshop Elements leaving just the word Organizer
Then click finish
You should now be able to launch directly form the desktop by double clicking on the icon.
You can set up a similar direct link to the Editor application (.exe file which has the blue PSE icon). As before take out Photoshop Elements just leaving the description Editor and it will show up clearly on the desktop.
Go to (note slightly different path) C: Program files (x86)\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 9
Select the Editor application.
