Photoshop Elements 8 - Menu bar Display

Hello,
I'm on Elements 8 and the menu bar at the top (File, Edit, Find, etc)is now a dropdown menu. Is there a way to have it display horizontally like it previously did?

please change your text size to 100 % or less. pse shows problem when the text size is greater than 100 % .

Photoshop elements 6 menu bar

how do i get the left side of my menu bar in photoshop elements 6, to show the edit, file, view, find, window and help buttons. Only the camera and little house show up. The only thing that shows is a tiny arrow which is barely visible. All was okay the first time I installed to another computer (which has since crashed). The reinstalling of photoshop the second time is causing the above problem.

If your on a windows system and talking about the menus in the organizer, then you probably need to set the dpi scaling as per the the instructions here: http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop-elements/kb/menus-missing-elements-8- 9.html

How to increase the size of Photoshop Elements 8 MENU and PANEL fonts?

How do I increase the size of Adobe Photoshop Elements 8 MENU, PANEL and other fonts used in Photoshop Editor?
Does anyone know of registry fix or other solution?

FYI:
I've increased windows XP display fonts to 140 dpi, only Photoshop Elements 8 fonts did NOT increase, such as menu, panel and drop down fonts -- they remain very small and almost unreadable. All other programs menu fonts did increase.

I’m sure Adobe try to make their products as accessible as possible to all sections of the community although by its very nature certain adjustments to fine detail require the use of a mouse.
However where possible keyboard short cuts are provided, as an alternative to the drop down menus. For example to adjust levels rather than clicking Enhancements>>Lighting>>Levels you can simply press Ctr+L.
Importantly it’s possible to zoom in and out on any image in the Editor using Ctr plus or Ctr minus.
That's the only suggestion I can think of.

Itunes launches but only menu bar displays

we have an iMac with osx leopard and several user accounts. When we launch iTunes, the menu bar displays, but no user interface window (library, store, etc.) displays. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling but it doesn't fix the problem.
On some of the user accounts iTunes does launch and the window/user interface displays properly.
Any ideas what to try?

I just figured out the problem. I kept pushing F3 and the window would come up, but I could not make it active. I then noticed the app was really minimized below the tool bar. I grabbed the app window and pulled it up - problem solved.

Change Menu Bar Display Size in PE4?

Can the Menu Bar display size and Shortcut Bar Display Size be changed to a larger type for ease of viewing purposes in PE4? If so, how?

Can you customize Photoshop Elements 7 menu

I just bought Photoshop Elements 7 and am trying to find out how much I can customize the workspace.
Can you add buttons to the toolbar or menu bar for frequently used menu commands?

Photoshop element 9 Organizer never displays commands the File, Edit,etc.

I bought “Adobe Photoshop element 9 Classroom in a Book” after I had already imported my photos into the program. When I tried to follow the instructions, “Creating a new catalog” in page 9 of the book, I was not able to choose File>Catalog to open its dialog box and create a new one – the commands at top of the Organizer did not display the commands File – Edit – Find – View – Window or Help. As a matter of fact, the Organizer never displays these commands at all. Please help!

Menu bar display

When I tick the box in Date and Time in Finder to display time in menu bar, nothing happens in menu bar. And when I try the same in sound to show volume control, it won't let me tick the display box. What is happening?

You probably have a corrupt preference file, specifically 'systemuiserver.plist'. But there are potentially two of them, so ...
In "/Users/<yourname>/Library/Preferences", delete com.apple.systemuiserver.plist
In "/Users/<yourname>/Library/Preferences/ByHost", delete com.apple.systemuiserver.xxx.plist where 'xxx' is a 12 digit (hexadecimal) numeric string.
Then log out and back in again. You may need to go to System Preferences to put back the menu items you need to display.
If this alone doesn't work, you may need to delete your caches, so repeat the above and then:
In "/Users/<yourname>/Library/Caches", delete everything

Horizontal menu bar displays grey in IE - Please Help

These are my first websites and i have created it in DW CS4. Everything is working and i have checked in multiply browsers. The one issue i can't work out is that when viewed in IE the horizontal menu bar looks grayed out. The main menu should be transparent with a white border, while submenus have a .gif image gradient background also with a white border.
Please help, I would be very grateful and if you would ever find yourself in the Maldives i'm sure we could repay the favour.....

Elements 10 Menu Bar on image

In Elements 10 when you open a picture only the X for close appears on the menu bar. How can you restore the normal menu bar choices
the minimize - and full screen double box choices?

Go to:
Edit >> Preferences >> General
Choose allow floating documents in full edit mode, then click OK.

Why does Spry horizontal menu bar displays as a list?

I createda spry hoizontal menu bar which looks great on my workspace but when I preview it in a browser, it displays as an unordered list.Does anyone have an explanation for what has happened and how to correct it?

It sounds like the path to the support files - SpryMenuBar.js and/or SpryMenuBarHorizontal.css - is not correct.

Photoshop Elements 11 with retina display?

I just ordered Photoshop Elements 11 for my new Macbook Pro with retina display, but based on the discussion here, I am worried that it might not work correctly. Does anyone know if Elements 11 supports retina display? Thanks!

PSE11 is not optimized for retina display but it runs very well on the latest Mac Book Pro with fantastic clarity. As far as I know, only Photoshop CS6 and Lightroom are optimized. You could set up the PSE11 editor application as your external editor in iPhoto preferences. iPhoto is obviously optimized.

Unable to click elements in menu bar when toggling (with alt) from hidden state

I've put few elements in normally hidden menu bar, like "RSS icon" or "Downloaded files icon". After showing menu bar they look properly (e.g. icons highlight on mouse over), but won't execute action - menu bar will hide upon click on them.
I've also put search bar there, selecting items from it works properly, after opening select search engine all other elements start to work, yet, after executing an action menu bar won't hide again until some menu is opened and closed. At the moment I'm using FF 5.0, but problem exists in 6.0 as well

Elements 7 menu bar

the menu bar on the top of the organizer is compressed into a bar and i cant figure out how to expand it

There is usually a right pointing arrow to click when the tool bar is not complete on short displays for laptops and notebooks. Its also worth checking if you have the optimal settings.
Go to the control panel and check dpi scaling under Appearance or Display.
It's not uncommon to see a setting of 125% or higher to improve screen readability but PSE requires a dpi of 96 or 100% Whilst the Editor Menu will appear at 120% to 149% the Organizer Menu (and the advanced button in downloader) won’t. Sometimes the mouse or tool cursors are distorted.
Try a setting of 115% or 116% otherwise 100%. A common display resolution, notably for notebooks/laptops, and netbooks is 1024 x 768 but PSE requires a screen height of 800 for full functionality. If your height resolution is out of the range 768 to 800 try experimenting with the slider.
