Photoshop elements 8 uneven print borders

Hi, I am using elements 8 with a Canon pixma pro 9500 MK2 /Windows 7 and regardles of paper size the right hand border i.e. the last peice of paper coming through the printer is around 1.5 - 2mm wider than the other borders. The printer comes with easy photo which prints the image centered with even borders. Has anyone come across this before?

Hi Garry,
Thanks for taking an interest in my printer problem. The canon printer is on the latest driver and will print centered from canon easy photo print but I cant open raw images through it.

  • I use Photoshop Elements 11 to print panoramas. Works for jpeg images but not tiff. Suggestions?

I use Photoshop Elements 11 to print panoramas. It works for jpeg images but not for tiff images. Seems strange because PSE11 manages tiff images in all other processes. Anyone fared better?

    Thank you for your trouble.
My images are not usually layered and the particular case I am about to quote, it is not. The dimensions are 10,546 x 2,790 and the image has 16.7 mbs. I use 8 bit colour. When I set up the print screens for tiff, everything is normal until I get to the last screen with the image set upon the photo paper. Then the paper size indicated with the image refuses to budge from the A4 size, so the panorama gets printed on that. I consulted the Adobe chat line and the expert could 't get it to work either. So he came to the conclusion that the tiff capability had not been extended to printing panoramas. In seeking advice, I thought someone might refer me to an updating patch!
Well done! You have confounded the system!  I could not find any control that would override the setting.

  • Striping in Photoshop Elements 7 photo prints

I have Adobe Photoshop Elements 7.  My PC runs Windows 7 Professional (64 bit).  For years, I have produced high quality prints with my Epson Stylus Photo R280 printer.  Not so recently.
The printer began depositing a colored stripe at the top and bottom of my photos (portrait orientation).  And, horizontal streaking began appearing evenly spaced from top to bottom.
I called Epson tech support.  The techie put me through many troubleshooting steps.  The nozzle check pattern was fine, so she had me print using Photoshop Elements 7 and using Windows Picture Viewer.  Both prints had the same issues - horizontal striping from top to bottom and wider stripes at the top of the page and bottom.  She concluded that the problem is Elements!
Can anyone shed light on how Elements 7 could be the culprit and what I can do to fix it.  I love the printer and Elements but I cannot continue throwing money at paper and ink to test the printer.
Thanks in advance for your advice.

Thanks for the suggestion about getting a new printer.  I had hoped that Epson would be able to tell me if my printer is toast and send me off shopping.  But, they have not been so helpful.
If you have any suggestions, I am all ears.  I have been trying to decide whether to purchase a printer that uses pigment inks or purchase one that uses dye inks.  My Epson Stylus Photo R280 uses dye inks and recipients of my photos are in awe of the quality.  I have limited experience with the new printers of today.  The Canon Pixma MG 5420 does a nice job but it's prints are not as vibrant as the Epson that is dying (or dead).  The Canon uses pigment inks (Magenta, Yellow, Cyan, Black and Photo Black).

  • Photoshop elements 10 not printing to Epson Stylus 9800

I am running photoshop elements 10 on a windows 8 computer and trying to print to my Epson Stylus 9800 and everything is coming out almost black. I can print color graphics from the web perfectly but no luck with elements. Does anyone have any ideas about what I can do to fix it?

    Did it ever work properly?
Do you have the latest drivers for the printer?
Try to print a test page from the printer itself to check that all colors show up.

  • Photoshop Elements v9 - online printing partners in UK

v9 no longer seems to have an online printing partner, ie an online photo lab that I can directly submit pictures and orders to from within Photoshop Elements.  At first I thought this was because my set-up was for the US, but I changed this to UK without any help.  In fact, it simply removed the option of Shutterfly, which was at least an option, even if meant postage from the US.
The help article I could find said that v12 has Photoworld as the UK partner, but v9 doesn't seem to offer this.  Is there any easy way of directly ordering lab prints from within Elements? would upgrading to v13 enable this?
An alternative work-around I thought might work would be to upload the selected pictures to a temporary album in say Flickr, then using Flickr's partnership with Photobox to order - has anybody tried this?
Basically, I need something as simple as possible so that my wife can use it to order prints as easily as possible.
    Thanks
    Mark

Are the graphics for each side cropped to the same size prior to sending to the printer, and is the resolution of each the same value?
Have you tried printing from another application?
Do you have the latest drivers installed for the printer?

  • Mac OS X update (3/19/13) crashes my iMac.  After installing an automatic OS X update, every time I use Adobe Photoshop Elements 11 to print to my Epson R1800 printer (which worked perfectly just before the update), my entire system crashes.

On 3/19/13 I was printing photos on my Epson R1800 printer using Adobe Photoshop Elements 11 with no problems.  I got an automatic Apple OS X software update which I installed.  Ever since, when I try to print photos my iMac crashes.  How can I unistall the OS X update?

What you are experiencing is called a Kernel Panic and is NOT caused by the OS, they can be difficult to troubleshoot as they can be software or hardware relate. The X Labs writes and excellent article about them, in Kernel Panics. Please read it carefully. In order to troubleshoot your KP you need to post your last KP log, Apple provides instructions for doing so in How to log a kernel panic. Please follow the instructions in that article and post your complete KP report.
As mentioned previously it is NOT caused by OS X! There are common causes, including RAM issues, outdated applications, hard disks failing etc. By posting your KP log we can look at it and determine if it's software and if it is then point  you to what is causing the issue.

  • Photoshop Elements will only print to fax

I have Adobe Photoshop Elements 8 and it will do everything I want it to do except print.
When I open PE and File – Print, the print page opens and (1) Select Printer: [HP Officejet 6500 E709n Series] shows. The (1) Select Printer dropdown also lists “Send To OneNote 2010”, “Microsoft XPS Document Writer”, “HP Officejet 6500 E709n Series fax” in addition to the preferred “HP Officejet 6500 E709n Series”.
When I click on the [print] button the next action, after a long delay, is a pop-up saying [printing…] followed quickly by the “HP Officejet 6500 E709n Series fax” pop-up; I DID NOT CHANGE THE PREFERRED PRINTER.
I have tried to change the printer to “Microsoft XPS Document Writer” and then back to “HP Officejet 6500 E709n Series” and this had no effect. I have also deleted and reinstalled Adobe Photoshop Elements 8 and the problem persists.
Recommended solutions would be highly appreciated. Thank you, Tom

    Tom,
This is a fairly common issue, esp. with HP printers.
You need to rename the printer to something short, like My Printer.
In control panel, right click on the printer>Printer Properties>rename

  • Calibrate Display to Photoshop Elements to Canon Printer

I have an iMac, Adobe Photoshop Elements and a Canon Mark II Pro 9500 printer.  I cannot get my pictures to print the image I see on my monitor.  I have calibrated my display but there is still a big difference between the quality of image I see in Photoshop Elements and what is printed out on canon paper.  How can I calibrate my printer to photoshop to my imac?  Thank you so much for any help.

    Howard,
You may have been given misleading information -- PSE 5 should indeed read Canon 50D raw files. According to this Adobe tech note, PSE 5 supports Adobe Camera Raw 4.6:
    http://www.adobe.com/go/kb407110
and according to the ACR 4.6 download page, it supports the Canon 50D:
    http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4036
So if you really didn't want to spend the money for upgrading, you could return PSE 7.
If you want to keep PSE 7, then that error message indicates that either you have the wrong version of ACR installed or it is installed incorrectly. The Adobe tech note above walks you through how to fix it.

  • My Adobe Photoshop Elements 12 only prints bluish pictures

I had a wonderful, effective consultant with my Adobe 12 problem in the morning Friday 21.2
He then said he needed 1-2 hours to finish his work with me case number 1852 036 72, and
promised to call me back.  That never happened, and he was unwilling to give me INFO about

  • ? I recently reinstalled Photoshop Elements after having printing problems my photo files have gone

I recently had problems with printing on my HP printer and discovered it was to do with PSE
After reinstalling PSE on my Mac I could now print photos again but all my photo files were lost. I have reinstalled PSE in the past but not had this problem.
    Can anyone help?

It may be that application is not opening the default catalog that was set before uninstalling the application . Please search for pse<version>db file e.g. if you are using pse10 than .pse10db file. There may be multiple files. Please look for folder name, folder name would be same as catalog name. Once the particular folder has been found go to File->catalog, click on Browse button, browse to folder location and select it open catalog.

I installed a new printer and now Photoshop Elements tells me I can't print.  The error message is "The saved printer information is not compatible with this version of Photoshop Elements, or the saved printer is no longer available.  You will need to check your printer settings before printing."  I have uninstalled and re-installed Photoshop Elements, checked my printer settings and still I can't print a photo.

    Hi ,

  • Add printer profile to Adobe Photoshop Elements 7.0

    Hi
I have Adobe Photoshop Elements 7.0 running on a Windows/7 64 bit system.  I print to an epson 1400.
I wish to print a photo from the PSE editor.  Unfortunately the editor does not allow me to choose the appropriate printer profile for the epson 1400 & the paper I have loaded.
The profiles are correctly installed in C:\Windows\System32\spool\drivers\color; and they are available to other programs, like MS Photo Viewer.  But PSE editor does not display them as a choice.
PSE 7.03 does allows me to specify a printer profile.  After pressing control-P I am presented with a PRINT dialog box.  Among other things, I choose:
Color Handling: Photoshop Elements Manages Colors
Printer Profile: presents many options, including:
    - working RGB - Adobe RGB (1998)
    - working CMYK - U.S. Web Coasted ....
    - working Gray
    - and many others,
    but no Epson profiles.
For Epson Premium Photo Paper Glossy I want to use the SP1400 1410 PGPS profile provided by epson.
Does anyone know how to get PSE 7.03 to allow this choice?
    thanks
    John

    Colin
Thanks again for the helpful reply.
I have not previously calibrated my monitor.  I am looking at that now.  but
    have avoided it because:
       1. Adobe recommends (http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/333/333356.html) that LCD
       displays not be calibrated.
       2. The colors on my Dell 2007WFP are the same as on the back display of
my Nikon D80 within my ability to differentiate.  And they are good!
       3. The colors produced by the Epson 1400 were way off for some skin
tones (specifically brown skinned people - about half of the folk who I
photograph).  This was not a minor adjustment issue.  And sometimes they
were off in the Green direction, other times they looked red or orange, more
       in shadows than in highlights.
       4. The skin tones printed from Picasa were very good (short of excellent)
while the skin tones from PSE 7.03 were completely inferior - I did not
suspect a problem with the monitor calibration or the printer - PSE was at
       fault.
Ok, now I used the calibration tool that seems to be part of Win/7 - I got
to it via the control panel:display.  I made no adjustments to the monitor -
    it seemed fine.
I would like the printer to duplicate what I see on the monitor.  prints are
a bit lighter than what I see on the screen.
I am printing now with the following parameters:
       1. from PSE Editor
       2. Photoshop Manages color
       3. Printer Preferences
          1. Premium Photo Paper Glossy (I use epson paper & inks)
          2. Color Management: ICM & No Color Adjustment
       4. Printer Profile: SP1400 1410 PGPP (thanks!)
       5. Rendering: Relative Colourimetric

  • Why does Photoshop Elements 10 print dark and red, and not match the computer screen?

I switched from Photoshop Elements 7 to Photoshop Elements 10.  I cannot get a print of a photo that matches the screen.  Photos are dark and red.  I cannot edit the photos because I do not know what will print out.   I have switched back to Photoshop 7 and my photos print fine, just as they have been edited.  I have spent hours on the Chat line with Adobe.  They have yet to help me resolve this problem.  Does anyone else have this problem or know what to do?  Adobe sure doesn't. I feel I have wasted money and am afraid to ever upgrade again.

If you are using Photoshop Elements Editor for printing then make sure you have handled the color management of PSE correctly.
There are two different scenario available in PSE to handle color management.
Scenario 1 (When printer manages color). If you're known and familiar to your printer profile, the type of paper you are using and if you have any other customization done for your printer profile then in this case please select Printer Manages Color in Color Handling drop down under color management of PSE.
To achieve this, follow these following steps.
    1. Launch Print dialog.
    2. Click on "More Options..." button.
    3. Now select Color management.
    4. Here you can see the Color Handling drop down. Please select Printer Manages Color.
Note:- Use this scenario when you are sure a about your printer profile and settings.
Scenario 2 (When Photoshop Elements handle color). In case you want PSE to handle all color management then please select Photoshop Elements Manages Color in Color Handling drop down. Then select the same printer profile as Image space.
Note:- If you are using this option, make sure the color management of your Printer is off.
    Hope this will help you.
