Photoshop Elements 8 - Uninstall

I'm attempting to remove Photoshop Elements 8 from my desktop using Win 7 and keep getting the error message  1316.A A network error occured while attempting to read from the file C:\Windows\Installer\Adobe Photoshop Elements 8.0 msi. What gives? I had a hard drive failure a year ago and tried to reload  the software. I currently goes to the screen to select organize or edit and when you select either it just sits there, no response.  Deactivating the software on my laptop did not help. It was working fine.

Geoman 44 it is likely that the installer that was being referenced was removed.  You can find more details regarding Error 1316 at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/263253.  I would recommend that you run the Microsoft FixIt utility to attempt to remove Photoshop Elements 8.  You can find the FixIt utility at http://support.microsoft.com/mats/program_install_and_uninstall/en-us.

Adobe Photoshop elements 10 uninstalled itself.  Any ideas?

And what exactly did happen? It is doubtful that it "uninstalled itself". You must have done something that made it disappear or launched the uninstaller.

  • Photoshop Elements 6 Uninstall & Reinstall

In 2007 I bought Adobe Photoshop Elements 6.  Earlier this year a pop-up message told me one of my files was missing and that I should reinstall the program.  When I opened my "Add or Remove programs" tool, there was no listing for Photoshop elements 6.  I even searched for a "uninstall.exe" file and found nothing.  I recently had a computer repair technician try to fix a number of problems but after correcting several, my shortcut to Photoshop Elements was missing and even though this program's files were seemingly all in place, I could not open the program.  Now after deleting as many of the 'PS Elements 6' program files as the system would allow, my computer won't respond to the program CD in order to reinstall Photoshop Elements 6 which came, new, from Amazon.com.

copy the installation files to a directory on your desktop, right click the setup file and click "run as administrator".

  • Photoshop elements 7 uninstall

I uninstalled Elements 7 from my computer, does that free the serial number for re-use (transfer etc.)

There's no activation on PSE 7, so no worries. You're good for transfer unless you used the serial number to qualify for upgrade pricing to a later version, in which case you can't transfer it.

  • Photoshop Elements 10 uninstalling

Have installed Elements 12 successfully.  Uninstalled Elements 10 - but Adobe Elements 10 Organizer (874.1KB) still shows on my Mac HD.  How can I remove it?

Hmm, the PSE 10 uninstaller ought to removed the organizer, too. You have two options:
    1. Just trash the organizer and hope for the best.
    2. Download and run this and then remove the organizer, but you may need to reinstall PSE 12 after doing it:

I know it says CS, but PSE is based on PS CS versions.
Out of curiosity, which version of OS X are you running?

  • Why does Photoshop Elements 11 uninstall every time after my computer has been shut down/restarted?

Every time my computer is shut down and I go to use photoshop, I have to reinstall the program completely. The icon is still on my computer screen but it's not downloaded. Please help!!!

This has nothing to do with Adobe. You are running with insufficient user privileges and are not allowed to make permanent changes to the system. Make sure to install with admin priivileges and also tame system restore and otehr security functions.

  • It is not possible to uninstall Photoshop Elements because there is no entry in Systemsteuerung\Alle Systemsteuerungselemente\Programme und Features (Win 8.1 GERMAN). How to uninstall? Is there a special script available like for the Creative Cloud?

Same problem with Premiere Elements 13

    Photoshop and elements 13
    Working in iPhoto
Want to edit image using photoshop elements
    Did the following
IPhoto>Preferences>Advanced>Edit Photos: In drop down menu chose in Photoshop Elements
Also control click and chose edit in external editor
Drop down menu edit photos in external program>photoshop Elements
Go to to the image I'm working on  --- selected the image, the clicked on edit. When nothing happened I double clicked the image. Still elements didn't open. Then I opened the Elements editor, went back to iphoto and tried the entire process again. the photo still didn't open on Elements 13 for editing.
I have 3 Elements 13 books as well as looked on line--all my references say the exact same thing ---- iPhoto>Preferences>advanced>edit in external program>photoshop Elements
I uninstalled and reinstalled both iPhoto as well as Elements.
I spoke with application technical support.  There appears to be nothing wrong with my copy of iPhoto.  However there is no support from Adobe.  I waited for over 1.5 hours for chat support several days ago, and finally gave up.

You are probably choosing the obvious file rather than the correct file as the PSE editor. The actual editor is hidden away inside the Support Files folder. The PSE file at the top level of the PSE folder in Applications is just an alias for the welcome screen and what you're describing is exactly what happens when you choose that. You want this one:

  • How can I deactivate Photoshop Elements 12 on my current computer so that I can re-install it on a new computer ?

Photoshop Elements 12 is currently installed on a a HP Pavilion dv6 laptop with Windows 7 64 bits and I wish to deactivate it in order to re-install it on a much bigger/powerful machine.
I found no indication whatsoever on Adobe site for this question. The chain of questions on the site keeps taking me round and round until I reached this forum, which is where I started from !!!
Can somebody tell me how this can be done ?
Please DO NOT tell me to follow the path of questions until I get somewhere : this is juest what I have been doing for half an hour !!!

    Many thanks Brian !
Quick reply, simple process (two clicks). Why is it so difficult to find the answer ? Too simple ?
As a matter of fact it is a question of vocabulary : “sign out” and “deactivate” is NOT AT ALL  the same thing (I’ve been  for many years an editor of English versions of international standards and regulations, and happen to know what words mean ). All the more as I have just discovered in the “Uninstall” process that the word “deactivate” is used https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop-elements/kb/uninstall-premiere-elements-photoshop-elemen ts.html
In French (my language), the Help menu reads “Deconnecter” which means something like “exit” or “sign out”. For me it meant either “leave the programm” or “disconnect from the help service”. Anyhow, it’s not an option you would use not knowing what the result would be : there is no suspension point on that line.
And the Help answer on Adobe’s site (in French) reads :
“Si vous souhaitez installer le logiciel sur un troisième ordinateur, désactivez-le sur l’ordinateur sur lequel vous n’allez plus l’utiliser. Ensuite, activez le logiciel sur le nouvel ordinateur.”
It does not use the word in the menu (déconnecter = disconnect).
Approximations like this could be a matter of life and death . In a french movie dramatizing the war in Algeria “L’honneur d’un Capitaine”, soldiers uphill in the mountains radio their captain – in the valley - to let him know they have captured the man they were looking for. He just says “Descendez-le”, which means “bring him down” or “Shoot him”. He meant of course “Bring him down”. The man was shot to death.
It looks like no one on the forum know the real answer. Do you think you could help correct this ? A simple phrase like : “check (or look up) uninstall process” would do.
    Regards
    Dominique

Generally, it's ok to install on two machines as long as they are both yours and you only use one version at a time.

  • Adobe Premiere Elements 11 & Photoshop Elements 11 Errors, Downloading Problems, Uninstalling probs

On May 8, 2013 I ordered Adobe Premiere Elements 11 & Photoshop Elements 11. To this day they do not work properly, did not download properly, nor can I get them uninstalled properly to reinstall properly. I have not been able to contact Adobe all these months, & now they tell me I have to pay $39.00 more just to speak to them. I refuse to give them anymore money than I have already gave them! Does anyone know how I can resolve this issue? I currently  have Adobe Photoshop Elements 7.0 & Adobe Premiere Elements 7.0. I was upgrading.

Thank you so much for replying. But I sort of solved the problem, yet I didn't solve the problem. I am running Windows 7 on my computer. When I purchased Elements & Premiere 11, I purchased a 1 time download from Adobe. Upgrading from 7.0. When I went to download it, then install it, it told me that through an error message, that it was not downloaded or installed correctly, so I would have to uninstall the whole thing & start from scratch, basically. So, I went into the control panel to delete the program. Hit uninstall, & it told me after it was done, that everything was not uninstalled & had uninstalled incorrectly. Now it was missing from the Control Panel, & I could not find the remains anywhere, I thought I would try to redownload it again. So, going through the process, it would let me download it, but it would not install due to the remains of the previous installation. I tried everything. And when I tried to go straight to Adobe, it was a no go. I put it on the back burner for months & used my 7.0 occassionally. Today I decided I wanted it fixed. I went to Adobe...my licenses are still in my account. But no matter what I did, it would not accept my old licenses. With the help of a previous poster, maybe on a different thread, I was able to uninstall the old program remnants. But I could still not download 11. I just decided to cut my loses, & purchased 12. I bought the trials, downloaded them, they worked great, & I purchased them. So, all's well that ends well. Of course, I am $170-some dollars in the hole, but whatever it takes. Again thank you for your reply to my delima.
