I am having trouble with my welcome screen. It just keeps saying gathering information. How can I get the information back on my welcome screen. like how much storage I have available.

Sometimes you get locked out of the program if you exceed the storage limit.

I recently opted to have Photoshop Elements launch in the Organizer. After doing so I realized that I prefer the default Welcome Screen. How do I restore the Welcome Screen?

Hi,
When the organizer has loaded, go to the Help menu and select Welcome Screen.
That will display the Welcome screen where you can then change the settings (gear wheel) to what you want.

Photoshop Elements 10 Edit Screen won't load

Photoshop Elements 10 Edit Screen won't load. It was working fine, then I responded to an Adobe Update. It stopped working. I re-installed Photoshop Elements 10 for MAC from the purchased Disc. The organizer works but not the editor. The organizer is not able to call the Editor either. I have uninstalled and reinstalled twice. I cannot get the editor to load it's editing screen or any images.
I'm really stuck.

Go to your username>library>preferences and delete:
com.adobe.PhotoshopElements.plist
Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 settings
Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 paths
repair permissions and try again.
Note: In lion, that library is hidden. In the finder, click the Go menu and then hold down the Option key to make it appear.

Photoshop Elements #11 dialog screen missing

I AM UNABLE TO OBTAIN THE SCREEN THAT HAS THE ADVANCED DIALOG BOX ON THE LOWER LEFT HAND CORNER SO THAT I CAN STATE NAME OF CREATOR, COPYWRIGHT ETC.    I have had PS Elements since #1, and never had this problem.'    Yes, I have gone into Preferences and can set download option, but cannot get the screen I have just described.     PLEASE HELP ME

This still does not work. I have tried to correct this several times
before by doing just what you suggest, but it does not work.   I click on "APD
Advanced Dialog", and it still does not appear when I load my compactflash
card.    This also DOES NOT bring up the Advanced Dialog box where I can
select either advanced or regular etc.   Something is seriously wrong with
this edition of Photoshop 11.   I also tried to acces the link you sent, and
I cannot open it. - ???????
We still have a problem that is not fixed.
I still await your phone call either tomorrow (Friday) or Monday.

Photoshop Elements 9 disc - activation trouble and program access

This also goes for my Premiere Elements 9 since both it and the Photoshop came in the same package.
I was going through technical issues where the motherboard on my Windows laptop was fried and then replaced, so I installed PSE9 on a temporary computer until I got mine back. During that time the disc got passed around amongst my family, but when my laptop came home I uninstalled the program on all of our computers - after discovering I could no longer access it on mine, and "deactivation" was not an option because the program wouldn't open for me to do it; and, on the rare occasion it did, the area was grayed out - anyway, after all that chaos and string of uninstalling, I finally got around to reinstalling PSE9 and PE9 on my original computer.
The welcome screens will open, but when I try to get into the program I get the "Activation limit has been reached" message. "This serial number has already been activated on 2 computers." Ok, I get that it's been activated more than once, but how do I deactivate something that's been uninstalled??? How do I fix this? Would taking my computer back to factory settings do the trick? I'd like to avoid that if possible, though. Please help. I'm going crazy trying to find an answer. Thank you for your time.

On Macbook pro how do I reset my premiere elements 12 welcome screen back as it was to ask if existing or new project.

Hi there, on my macbook pro, can anyone tell me please how I can reset the welcome screen in Premiere Elements 12 back to how it was, were it asks to open an existing project or a new one. I made the mistake of changing the settings to open Premiere Elements editor by default but now it opens straight into a new project each time. Many thanks.

I am strictly an Elements Windows user, but I think I am on common ground with this response. Please check it out.
Resetting of the Welcome Screen is done using the icon to which the arrow points in the screenshot.
If you cannot get to the Welcome Screen due to a prior set, then in the Open project, if you have a Window Menu, go to Window Menu/Welcome Screen.

Photoshop Elements 8 main screen menus and colors

Folks....My wife is using Elements 8 and has trouble reading the menus because the black color is hard to read against the background. We have tried the Preferences/General/Lighten (or Darken) options but she would also like to try changing the color of the menu text. Is that possible? Working like this is causing eyestrain and results in a headache.
Other that this she likes the program.
I've noticed that in Elements 9 the menu text is white.

Photoshop Elements 12 editing screen frozen - program won't close

I have just recently installed photoshop elements 12 in a windows 7 laptop. I was just editing a photo and it froze. I can't x out or close the window or close the program. I tried escape... and numerous tries to close the program but it's frozen solid. I'm on hold with my tech support but they're all backed up.

If you aren't getting any error messages than the only way is to re-install the package using an Administrator account or a user with Administrator privileges.
You have got the DVDs for the product and serial number, right? If not then first gather this necessary information before doing anything so that frustration doesn't build up when you come to it. Finding information can be a daunting task for some.

Photoshop Elements 12 Green Screen Removal Help

I have an image with a 'green screen' background. I am having troubles removing the green screen background. I have tried the magnetic lasso and other outlining methods that have not given me the desired result. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for me? Is there a plug-in that I can install? Should I get a different version of Elements that has the 'magic extractor'? Any/all thoughts are welcome. Thank you.

You won't be able to use color range, but the quick selection tool or magic wand should do

Has anyone worked on a sports memory mate using photoshop elements 13? Having trouble inserting images.

Cant seem to merge image into place.

I downloaded one of their templates.
Do the following:
Open the template file
Duplicate the background layer, then shut off the visibility of the background layer. Work on the Background copy layer
Get the magic wand tool out of the toolbox. On the tool's option bar, check "contiguous". Left click on the white area within the template, then hit delete on the keyboard
Go to File>place and point to where your picture is. Here I used a picture of an owl for demonstration. Resize this, if necesasary
Drag the picture below the template in the layers palette, as I indicated to you previously
You should end up with the layers looking like this:

Floating screen within Photoshop Elements

I am running Photoshop Elements 12 on a Macbook Pro with a Retina Display. In Photoshop Elements Organizer the screen is floating up above the menu bar and I can not access the menu to create new albums, close program, or see the top of my photos at full screen. I have seriously spent hours online googling the issue but I have not found out a way to move the screen back down. I have changed the resolution which makes it smaller but the top is still missing. I have clicked on every setting and preference options on my Mac and within the Elements program and nothing has works. The screen will not drag down either. I would appreciate any help someone can give me! And advice of how to avoid this happening again...

If you are on trial application, so whenever you launch Photoshop Elements Editor, it will give you the option to serialize your product.

Photoshop crashes while displaying welcome screen

We have developed a plug in for Photoshop. Once we have installed the same on target system, this customized welcome screen appears when we open photoshop. Now an attempt to close photoshop 'with the welcome screen still open results in a crash'. This welcome screen is a modal dialog, run on a thread.
I am not very comfortable with the idea of running this modal dialog on a thread. But, it has been implemented this way. I feel this is where things are going wrong.
Any tips or suggestions as to what can be wrong, or where i need to be looking to debug the same.
I have tried to debug the same, but in vain.

If you want a welcome screen you should make an automation plug-in that responds to first idle. You can probably get away with using a thread for your dialog. Make sure the thread does not communicate with the Photoshop. Have the thread talk to the main plug-in thread, the PluginMain routine that Photoshop called, if you need to use Photoshop call backs.
