Yes, what Brett N said. Go to your username>library>preferences and delete:
com.adobe.Photoshop.Elements.plist
Adobe Photoshop Elements 8 settings
Adobe Photoshop Elements 8 paths
Opera preferences
and also any lockfiles with the same names. Also repair permissions before launching PSE again
In lion that library is hidden. To see it, in the finder, click the Go menu and hold down the option key. It will appear below the little house for your user account.

You will continue to hear different opinions here, where thoughts range everywhere between "anti-virus software is the evil spawn of Satan" to "anyone not running anti-virus software is a fool."
Truth is, this is still a very personal decision on a Mac. Depending on circumstances, it is still very easily possible to stay safe without using anti-virus software, but circumstances and personal preferences vary widely. Besides which, anti-virus software cannot even remotely provide you a guarantee of protection!

Trouble installing Photoshop CS6 on Mac OSX lion

I bought Photoshop CS6 extended and am trying to install it on my Mac OSX Lion v. 10.7.4 and I keep coming up with the install error of:

This comes up after I get the install bar and it only makes it to 1-2% installed.
What can I do so that I can install the program on to my computer. I know that I have more than enough free hard drive space for the program (based on its requirements).

Photoshop CC with Mac OSX 10.6.8?

Sorry, this is my first time and I hope I'm in the right section.
So I need to download photoshop, and when I checked out the system requirements it says "Mac OS X v10.7, v10.8, or v10.9"
I have a Mac OSx 10.6.8, I was wondering if it would work?
I've downloaded Maya2014 which also requires " Apple® Mac OS® X 10.7.x or 10.8.x" and it works just fine.
I just want to know if it will be compatible before I buy it?

I did have PS CC running under Snow Leopard when I first purchased the CC subscription (using Mavericks now). I don't if it's been changed since then. Other CC apps will come right out and say they can't be install in SL when you try, and that Lion is the minimum OS.
You can download the trial version of PS CC here. It's the same software, just not activated. So if it installs without any type of notice about the OS you're running, you should be good to go.

Program refuses to load after repeated tries.
Cannot edit photos much less movies. No error msgs. I have optimized and repaired catalog repeatedly. I have asked Adobe Help for case help and never received report on what to do or even a follow up call. Ver 9 reports no updates or issues. I have not been able to load files from my HD in Sony Camera. Afraid to clean HD and Vid/Camera Store says that what I get for using Mac.
Given up on help and wasted time and $$.

Photoshop Elements for Mac OSX 10.5.6 Version?

I'm confused. Is there an Elements for Mac in Version 7. I called the sales line and they told me that for a Mac I would choose Version 6 for Mac??? Is Version 7 for Windows equal to Version 6 for Mac?

Yes, there is no version 7 for mac, but it doesn't really matter, since most of the changes between 6 and 7 were bug fixes in the organizer and the push to use photoshop.com. In the editor, there aren't huge differences between the two programs, just a couple of new tools. For 10.5.6 PSE 6 is the one you want, especially if you have an intel mac.

I wake the computer from sleep and then it freezes either within 5 minutes or it could take an hour.

Try to repair disc permissions. Also see if MSOffice is compatible with Lion.

Which Sprint broadband cards work with Mac OSX Lion?

My company uses Sprint and when I upgraded to Lion, my Ovation U760 broadband modem was no longer supported. I can't find any Sprint cards on their webpage which indicate they work with Lion.

Well, you can try to shame us if you want, but the discussions I heard
around me was that it was more important to deliver cross-platform mobile
development when we did than to wait and divert energy and time to
certifying on a new OS version, and potentially wait for a new Eclipse
version before we could do that certification. Everything under us keeps
changing and we have to pick a point in time and ship. Then we start
upgrading and certifying on later stuff. We are in the process of
certifying on Lion.

I've seen this before on a Theatre Sound Mailing List I subscribe to.
Every time Apple issue an updated operating system there's a flurry of questions about all sorts of sound recording, editing and playback software that no longer works. This moves to a flurry of "this update now works but that one doesn't" posts then, eventually everything settles down just in time for Apple to issue a new upgrade.
I don't understand why they do things this way but it's one of the reasons I stick to Windows and never wish to move to Apple products. Their disregard for their customers (or are they acolytes?) is astounding.

I have an iMac Mid 2011 model intel i5 with AMD Redeon HD6750M 512 MB graphic card, 8 MB RAM.
I was using the imovie the other day and down loaded some of the vedio clips from Sony camcorder.
All of a sudden today while I was trying to open the iMovie it did not a window poped up saying that

What is these nonsence thing happening ........

If it was previously working then try a smc and pram reset.
If that doesn't fix it then see if vlc can handle the video.

FMLE crashes on startup with Mac OSX Lion

I don't know what's producing the issue, but whenever I launch FMLE, it instantly crashes. The odd thing is, I was able to get it running a few minutes before, but I restarted it and it just keeps on crashing.
I've tried reinstalling multiple times, but nothing works. I've deleted startup.xml, but still with no hope.
Anyone have any idea how to solve this?
EDIT: I was doing some troubleshooting and strangely, if I run the "FMLELauncher" for a bit then close it, FMLE has a chance of opening sucessfully.

Ok, really weird now, it seems that my USB Audio Interface (TASCAM US-122MK2) was causing it to sometimes crash and sometimes not.
I'm guessing it would fail to recognise the device or something.
In the end, unplugging it did the trick, but now I can't get Audio from my Microphone.

As far as backing up your Mac, yes it is. Time Capsule serves no purpose as far as backup for the iPhone though. It will give the iPhone a wireless signal though, using dual band technology. iPhone backups must be done through iTunes or iCloud.

How do I install Mac OSX Lion client on the new Mac Mini Server?

If Apple would have had the quad-core processor option for the non-server Mac Mini, I would have just bought that, but I wanted the quad-core. I do not, however, need the server software. I found this article talking about how to disable the server functionality, but this article highlights how little that method actually does.
Ultimately, I just want to do a clean reinstall like I used to do prior to Lion. This process used to be so easy. Create a disk image of the desired operating system on USB, option boot, and you're done. Now it appears that Apple purposely impedes this process, as every time I boot from the USB I created with Mac OSX Lion client, I get a circle with a line through it. Is there any way around this restriction? Editing firmware, editing .plist files, etc?
Very disappointed that Apple is limiting what used to be such a simple process on Hardware and Software that I paid for but now can't get the functionality I want.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but what I don't think you can do what you're asking for. Closest thing is going to be disabling the server components like it says in the article, but again, that doesn't do much.
