Photoshop Elements 9 and Premiere Elements 9

I'm putting a 98-photo slide show together for my mom's funeral, and want to use my own background music. I've tried everything, but can't figure out how using Photoshop Elements and Premiere 9. I got the slide show done, and clicked on "Output," then burn to DVD. But it saved it in My Videos folder. I don't know where to go from here. I have the 5 songs downloaded to my computer, but how do I burn the slide show and the music together, and also, sink them to start an d end at the same time? I'm operating on a Windows PC. Can anyone please help me?

There are at least four ways to create slideshows in Premiere Elements 9, Teresa. Which method did you use?
It sounds as though you may be using the Organizer's Slideshow Creator. If so, did you select the Send to Premiere Elements option?
If you can give us more details about the steps you're taking, I'm sure we can help you.
I assume you want a DVD with a menu, right? As I say, there are several ways to do things with these programs, and the more we know about what you're trying to do and how you're trying to do it, the more specific help we can offer.

I have Premiere Elements 11 and Photoshop CS 6. I have using the Classroom in a Book to learn how to work Premiere Elements. In chapter 12 you are supposed to use both Elements programs. Is there any way to use CS 6 with Premiere Elements. I don't have the capital to go out and buy another program.

Yes.
You can choose Edit Original in PrE, to Open the PSD in Photoshop.
As this is more a question for PrE (recent topics on the same subject), maybe a MOD will move this to the Premiere Elements Forum.

Updates can often fail because of additional language files from the existing installations have been removed. Run the uninstaller and then reinstall the application and try applying the update again. Complete the following steps to uninstall the software:
Mac OS:
Go to Applications/Utitlies/Adobe Installers.
Run the applicable uninstaller.
Windows Vista/7:
Go to Start > Control Panels > Programs and Features.
Locate the affected Adobe Creative software title and click Uninstall.
Windows 8:
Press Windows Key + R to open the run command. Type Control Panels and press OK.
Open the Program & Features Control Panel.
Locate the affected Adobe Creative software title and click Uninstall.
Try these steps and let me know if it helps.

Photoshop Elements 11 and 12 on the same device

I recently bought Photoshop Elements 11. Now I bought a new Canon EOS camera, that included Photoshop Lightroom 5 and Premiere Elements 12. My Problem now is. The DVD also contains Photoshop Elements 12 with access only to the organizer but not to the photo editor (there is no serial number). So now I have Photoshop Elements 12 but for editing Photos Photoshop Elements 11. Not very satisfying. How can I get a licence number for Photoshop Elements 12 without again buying the Software.

Unable to View .mod files in Photoshop Elements 11, can see they are there but no picture, I import them into Premiere and all OK ?

I have hundreds of .mod files which are supported but I am unable to view them on my Adobe Photoshop Elements 11. I cant see the picture icons as pictures or see the vision when i select them? I am running the latest Windows 8.1 PC with heaps of Ram and memory. If I import the files into Premiere they play fine?

I did re-set the prefs - but to no avail
I checked and my graphics driver and audio is all up to date.
No sure how to verify Windows Media Player's hardware acceleration options. I opened WMP Options /Perfformance tab and under Cd the DirX tab is checked.
Running Windows Vista - so does the same caution apply regarding a re-install of Windows Media Components and DirectX ?
Appreciate your help with this somewhat frustrating issue. I am converting some old 8mm film to avi with the hope of doing some edits then burning to DVD.

What do i do with a very slow Photoshop Elements and Premiere Elements on a PC?

I seem to be getting mixed opinions as to why my Adobe software gets so slow, despite efforts to avoid that, but my computer seems to be working just fine, it is only when in Adobe that the problems arise, like freezing, taking longer and longer periods of time to open the screen to edit a photo, or to compare two photos side by side. Any process seems to take such a long time, and the freezing can last for several minutes, and then continue on. I have had a computer person come to my house and examine my computer and though his knowledge of Photoshop is limited, he feels that it is NOT the computer but something with Adobe Photoshop. I would tend to agree with him.
Several theories have been explained to me, such as Elements and Premiere Elements are a low end of the scale of Photoshop programs, so it is just not going to be able to process high definition large photos well and quickly. Stating comments like i can only use 2 GB of my memory even though i have 8 GB, so unless i can use 64 bit this is what i have to deal with, and it is just a way for Photoshop to say you need to upgrade to the fancier programs. I do not need fancier programs. I am working hard to master these, and have accomplished 4 great blu rays in high definition thanks to recommendations from the Forum here, especially Steve with the help of his books.
Others say i need a solid state hard drive to solve the problem. Others say the only way i will ever solve the problem is to switch to a MAC. Others state is a mal-ware problem, but i have never had my hard drive so clean and uncluttered. I supposedly have as good of PC as i could have as far as QUAD-core, 8GB memory, presently a 1 TB hard drive less than 1/2 full. All suggestions involve big outlays of money, with no guarantee that things will be any better. I have tried to contact different computer companies and computer 'nerds', and these are some of the suggestions, but no one really has a lot of knowledge of the Photoshop software.
I am thinking of adding an additional internal hard drive, but not sure that is going to help either. Could i put all my Photoshop of the second hard drive, and might that speed things up?
Adobe is rather worthless in trying to get help from them. I have spent hours on the phone waiting and then talking to someone who says they understand English but they do NOT understand the question i am asking, which becomes very frustrating with repeat phone calls. I gave up yesterday trying to do that challenging experience yesterday after i had spent 3 times the amount of time they said i would need to wait to get a reply, and i was at work, and my free time had come to an end. So i am hoping you guys can give me some clues of the best thing to do.
Is it true that Photoshop Elements and Premiere Elements are just such a lower end program that trying to do things in high definition, with 2000x1500 photos, making them into a blu ray disc is a major challenge with a PC? I wish i had a greater computer knowledge, but i have struggled to achieve my goal, but the speed of it all gets very frustrating, though it is possible.
Another question asked which i don't think exists, is whether there is a program that could clean up Photoshop, or are there some clues that could accomplish that and thereby speed things up.
Would appreciate any suggestions anyone has. I am in the middle of another project so now is probably not the best time to consider any major changes. But any comments would be appreciated.

Premiere Elements 10 is now 64 bit, but not PSE10.
Take a look at your scratch disk set-up and if you have a spare volume, allocate that first before the C drive. Elements use scratch disks when it gets low on RAM.

When editing photos or videos check the task manager to see what background processes may be running and end them temporarily if not needed.

Or, how many of your computers can have a same purchased activated serial number at the same time for either of these products?
If the former, I know of no limit.
If the latter, the answer would be as John as mentioned.

How do I update Adobe Photoshop Elements 9 and Adobe Premiere Elements 9 on a new computer?

I have previously used both Adobe Photoshop elements 9 and Adobe Premiere elements 9 on my old computer with Windows XP operating system without problems. Now I have a new computer with Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit operating system. I have installed both programs but when I try to update them I get a message saying "The update server is not responding. The server might be offline temporarily or the internet or firewall setting may be incorrect. Please try again later." I have tried numerous times with the same result. I have tried uninstalling both programs and re-installing but still get the same message. What do I have to do to be able to update these programs so I can get on and use them? The information with the programs says they both work on both Windows XP and 7.

If I were you I would first make sure CS6 was deactivated or signed-out. Then download Adobe's cleaner and remove cc, CS6 and any other creative application installed including Creative Cloud desktop application. Then install CS6 and use your CS6 serial number during the install to activate CS6 standard or extended which ever the serial number is for. CS6 Version 13.0 should the be activated. That level of CS6 is extremely bug ridden so be sure to the use CS6 menu Help>Updates to get CS6 updates. Windows should update to version 13.0.1.3 Mac to version 13.0.6. Not Subscription CS6 version 13.1.2...

Is there any "simple" documentation on the steps to download and install Photoshop and Premiere Elements V13? The downloads seems to work but there's nothing clear on what do you do next.

I've been messing with computers since 1958 and I've never seen such a mess as trying to download and install the recently purchased copies of Photoshop and Premiere Elements Version 13. Slow downloads? Sure, but I can live with that. But once downloaded, what next? Look for a xxx.exe file somewhere in the pile? Read the "ReadMe" file? All I seem to get is unzipping some files with nothing leading me into the proper steps. I can't even seem to get off the ground. Everything I touch unzips and just lies there. I hate to think I've gone dumb after all of these years, but "user friendly" this is not. My "Your order confirmation" sheet gives me "Follow the instructions below to start using it today" and the first three steps work as you'd expect. Step 4 states "After you have completed the download process, your serial number will be displayed in the download center." Step 5 is "You can log back into 'Adobe Account Management' in the future to re-download your product or retrieve your serial number. ...." I have no problem with my serial number but there seems to be a lot missing between Steps 4 and 5. It would be nice to have this information as pretty standard "stuff. Computers are supposed to do super stuff without a lot of time-consuming problems with a simple process like installing the software. I'm feeling a bit hostile about this but it is a time-consuming, frustrating process.

There isn't much good news to offer. The first mention below is probably your only shot without purchase, unless you could find someone to transfer licenses with.
You won't be able to install a Windows version on the Mac unless you install some Windows emulation software on the Mac.
You won't be able to activate a Mac version of the software on the machine because your license/serial number is only valid for Windows.
CS5 is too old to qualify for a platform swap and Adobe no longer sells CS5 so you would have to take your chances with a third party vendor if you decided to purchase a Mac version.
Just to clarify, there is no such thing as a student version of the software... the license dictates the status of the software. So you won't be able to find a student version either

I am able to open up the organizer without problems, but when I try to open up the photo editor (either by trying to open up the program from the main menu, or right-clicking on a photo in the organizer to edit in elements), the program asks me to sign in to adobe (which I can do and it doesn't give an an "incorrect password" or log-in ID error) then accept the terms and conditions. When I click to accept the terms and conditions, nothing happens and the editor fails to open. Everytime I click on the program, I get this same "loop" of signing in and accepting T&C's, but the program fails to open. Any advice?
