Photoshop Elements 9 failure

What prompts message 'photoshop elements 9 cannot start or continue because of missing files, reinstall.  When attempt reinstall I have to deactivate my current software.  Will this mean I have to forefit the ability to put the software onto a laptop.

While uninstalling you need to deactivate the app. But you have the serial number, right? You can re-activate it after installing.
This time after uninstalling the app, while installing, right click the 'setup.exe' and click on 'Run as admin' and follow the installation process.

    Hi Tim,
Sorry for the delayed response. Somehow, never got to see this thread.
If you are still not able to install PSE on the machine, then please connect back and I will try to get your issue resolved.

Photoshop Elements 10 Mac Ongoing Install Failure - Exit Code 7
I downloaded Photoshop Elements 10 for Mac (not trial, with valid serial #)
Mac OSX 10.7.2, 3.6 GHz Intel Core i5, 16 GB RAM
I know the install package is valid because I installed it on my backup laptop (same Max OSX version) after I was having problems with my primary desktop and it installed fine. I have followed all the instructions on the install package including "restarting my system and installing again," and the install keeps failing with the same message:

    Suggestions? thanks.

Issue resolved with the help of Adobe Support (Mercer).  My problem had been seen in another machine, there were empty folders in the Fonts Folder (Hard Drive>Library>Fonts) that the installer could not reconcile or delete, that was hanging up the Installer.
My fix was to delete the following empty folders from the Fonts Folder:
    AdobeMingStd-Light.otf
    BickhamScriptPro-Regular.otf
    KozMinPro-Regular.otf
    MyriadPro-BoldCond.otf
    TektonPro-BoldCond.otf
And then re-run the installer (be sure to empty the trash).
My advice would be to first read the installer log and look for names of font folders that could not be resolved, then dump those.  Another way would be to dump any empty folders in the Fonts Folder, empty the trash, then re-sun the installer.

  • Photoshop Elements 13 Installation Failed - Adobe Genuine Software Verification Failure

I bought and downloaded Adobe Photoshop Elements 13 from Amazon, which would seem to be a legitimate source. Everything runs smoothly, and seems correct up until the point of installation, when this happens after the installation process reaches 99%. The message simply reads: "The product you are trying to install is not an Adobe Genuine Software and appears to be counterfeit." This doesn't seem right. What is going on? How can I successfully install Elements?

  • Im trying to re-install Adobe photoshop elements and it says failure to install

I would like to say that your customer Service is the absolute worst I have ever spoken to... I am having trouble re-installing my photoshop elements 4.0 on my computer. I just used it yesterday and went to re-install it today because my computer had to be restored to factory settings. I waited 10 min and the phone hung up on me. I called back and waited 30 min and then hung up because it was taking so long. Then called back, complained to the first rep, he transferred me to another rep who transferred me and I waited 52 min for a CSR to tell me that I need to go to forums.com. This is terrible..what is there job if they are just referring people to a forum. I would love to download 12.0 at some point but I do not have the funds at this time and the 4.0 will get the job done, but it will not let me download. I need this asap for my job. I am wasting valuable time from my job and kids w/ computer problems.

  • I have an error 130:9 in Photoshop Elements associated with AMT Subsystem failure. I have tried Licencerecovery109. Did not work. I cannot uninstall Photoshop Elements. I get an error 1316 and the program is reinstalled. Please advise.

I have screen dumps of the errors but cannot paste them

    Hi Hans
    Just to summarise:
If I run Photoshop Elements I get a window headed "AMT Subsystem failure".  It states "This product has a problem which requires that you restart your computer before it can be launched. If you continue to see this message etc. contact Adobe Technical Support etc. Error 130:9. http etc".
I have tried to run LicenceRecovery 109. This did not work. I have tried other suggestions on the internet. Nothing worked. This included resetting FLexnet.
I then tried to uninstall and reinstall Photoshop Elements. There is no repair facility. The uninstall gets about 95% through and then stops and replaces all the files. I get a window headed "Adobe Photoshop Elements 8.0 Setup".  It states "Error 1316. A network error while trying to read from the file C:\windows\installer\adobe photoshop elements 8.0.msi."
That is the details of the two screen dumps which I have.
    Please advise.

  • PhotoShop Elements 9 Crop Tool is a total failure!

I do a fair amount of work that involves a lot of croping, mainly for animation sequencing. The Crop tool Custom Height and Width settings do NOT WORK.
I usually have a test image of the exact size that I work in. Example: 500 x100 pixels. This converts to 13.23cm x 2.65 cm at 96dpi. When I type these Crop Size requirements into the Crop tool settings box, I get a crop size way outside the size of the image that I want to crop. There is no way to set that size up yourself by using a test image as a template. In fact there is no way to set up custom sizes in the menu at all! I find this to be very upsetting as I have only just purchased this product. This limitation is something that I would expext to find in freeware, but not in a program like PhotoShop Elements 9. I have tried every conceivable way to try to get the Crop Tool to work to a Pre Set size with no success.
Why is it that a graphics program will not allow you to put in a pixel x pixel measurement? That is pure stupidity on the part of the programmers and very poor work on the part of the testing team. No wonder the program itself crashes from time to time. It just stops running - ppffft! I have a state of the art 64 bit system running Win 7 with plenty of RAM and a High end Graphics Card, so I know that my system is not at fault - it's PhotoShop 9. I cannot believe the primative workspace and the lack of the ability to custom predefine tools. All in all I'm extremely unhappy with PE9.
If anyone has had this or similar issues and has found a solution please tell me what it is.

In answer to your remark I will go through the whole process again at a later date and re-post. It does not make any difference to the resultant Crop size whether you input cm or pixels. Here's a point for you though since you mentioned it. Check out the Ruler - does it look like the Crop is anywhere near 500cm x 100cm? Maybe you were so busy trying to find fault that you failed to see the forest for the trees?
I only find fault where it exists - not where it doesn't. As far as Forums go, I am a member of a few Forums and have not had this sort of problem with answers before where the reply posts tend toward trying to pretend a problem doesn't exist or trying to prove fault with the poster. Hmmm.  Again I wonder how many of these reply's are from people with some affiliation with Adobe?
I will finish by saying that just for you I will go through the whole pointless exercise again and make sure that the Pixels are indeed input.
    1. Opening File
    2. File Open.
    3. Resetting Crop Tool.
    4. Crop Tool reset and Measurement Boxes clear.
5.First Measurement Input. PLEASE NOTE 500 Pixels Input!
    6. Second Measurement Input. PLEASE NOTE 100 Pixels Input!
    7. Third Criteria Input. PLEASE NOTE 96dpi Input!
    8. All Input Data correct and ready to Crop to preset Width/Height/Dpi restrictions.
    9. OH DEAR IT DOESN'T WORK! Again it fails to give me a simple 500x100 pixel at 96dpi Crop Box!
After this reply post you may just get some idea of the frustration I am experiencing. As you can plainly see the Crop Box drawn goes to the very edges of the Image to be Cropped. Can you see the problem now? Maybe I should just go with my friend's suggestions and take a video of the process and post it on YouTube? Then go to my local Consumer Affairs Department! If you can find what I am supposedly doing wrong - please elucidate as I have followed both the prescribed steps in the somewhat Shoddy Online Help and also the suggested remedies posted on the Forum. All to no avail. It just Won't Work!

  • Update failure, Photoshop Elements 9

I have been trying for several days to update PSE 9, continually getting error message " Some updates failed to install". and "...error downloading.... Please quit and try again later." same message for both PSE 9.0.3 and Camera Raw 6.5. Help/suggestions would be appreciated.
I tried Adobe's chat, what a waste of time that was.

  • Failure to Install Adobe Photoshop Elements 11

Today, Oct 28 2012, I purchased a copy of Adobe Photoshop Elements 11. It won't install on a Win 7, 64 bit system. I've tried the supplied DVD disk, and a downloaded trial version. The installation stops during installation of "Shared Technologies". The error message reads "The installation process has encountered an error while installing Shared Technologies. Please restart your system and try again". There's no hint as to what the error is, or how to overcome same or work around. I was able to install Adobe Photoshop Elements 11 in XP Mode on the same machine. What's going on here? Robert

    Hi Robert,
Installer asks for a restart when it doesn't find the system/pocesses in the state (: running/stopped) it requires them to be in.
Please do share if restarting the system helped get a successful installation?
    thanks.

Sorry. I do not know the right words in English. But I will try to explain.
Within the PSE frame or window on the left side you can look on the directory, in the middle you look on files / pictures and just above the file is shown (can be scrolled by clicking)which contains the files and pictures in th bottom).- That's what I mean with "built-in browser", better perhaps "directory". If I use it / click on files PSE crashes.
The other way to open files and pictures is this: In the horizontal strip at the edge of the frame I click on the menue, then "open" (if I translate from German to English). I get the *apple-finder" (it looks like at least). I search for the picture, click on it and it opens in PSE and PSE does not crash.
Uff. ;-) PSE makes me practising my English.
