Photoshop Elements 9 for Win & Mac

Hi,
Thinking of buying Elements 9 which is advertised for "Windows or Mac" . Is it correct that a) I can install it on *either* my Macbook or XP computer?.
Could I possibly (b) install on both ? ( at home) , if I don't then use the prog. simultaneously ? Am retired, photos a hobby.

it seems that when there are different 'platforms' you can't install software on Win and Mac simultaneously.
However with some Adobe software products you are allowed to install 2 copies.

If you buy the boxed version, yes, you can install on two macs, two windows computers, or one of each. If you buy the download, your serial number is only good for one platform.

Adobe does not sell older versions of their software. If you wish to purchase an older version you will have to find and take your chances with a third party vendor.

If the code you are trying to enter has letters then you are not looking at a serial number. A serial number only contains numbers - 6 sets of 4 numbers.
Find your serial number quickly
You might be dealing with a redemption code. This is especially so if you purchased it from a store or the like.

Yes, but it is absolutely critical to delete all existing preferences after upgrading to 10.9.
I'm running PSE 6, 8, 9, 10, 11, and 12 in 10.9. PSE 11 has a slight problem (with a couple of filters) but otherwise it all works.

Installing a downloaded version of photoshop elements 8 for the mac

Can someone please help me. I downloaded version 8 of photoshop elements for the mac (a paid version and not the trial). When i click on the set-up icon and go through all the required information (i.e., serial number, etc.), the screen goes to checking the system and finally to "preparing to install". It sits there and does nothing. I have waited for hours but it just says "preapring to install". I have downloaded the app a couple of times. I rebooted a couple of times. I am running Snow Leopard 10.6.1 I also have the earlier version of Photoshop Elements, version 6. Can someone help please. I have holding now for 73 minutes on Adobe's support line.

Not to sound completely stupid but does this require me to download elements
again but under the new admin user?

Photoshop Elements 8 for the Mac crashes on exit

I recently installed PE 8 for the Mac on an iMac running OS x 10.6.4. When I exit the program I get an error message from the OS that Photoshop Elements quit unexpectedly. I also get an error message from PE that it crashed.
With the assistance of tech support I have downloaded it again, reinstalled it and even set up another admin accounted and repeated the downloading and installation process to no avail. I am still waiting for a reply from "upper level techs."
I have not started to use PE8 because I am reluctant to invest a lot of effort and photos until this is corrected.

That's a bummer. I think Elements is probably half way between iPhoto and Aperture... the advantage is that it sets you up to move pretty seamlessly to Photoshop, which is clearly a lot more powerful than Aperture. But if Aperture does all you want, you will probably be happy with it.
You didn't happen to save the email from Adobe support, did you? I would LOVE to see it.

Photoshop Elements 8 for Mac is frozen?

A month ago I purchased a MacBook Pro and also Photoshop Elements 8 for the Mac. Was creating albums in iPhoto and editing in Photoshop with no problem. Today, Photoshop stopped working. It will launch only if I reboot, but it won't open any images. I can't pull them in through the toolbar either (using "open" command). It will only put them in the project bin. Other than iWork, this is the only other purchased program on my laptop. Am editing photos from a wedding, promised for review next week. Help!

Please reset the PSE preferences:
Here's how:
1. Exit PSE.
2. Open PSE just to the Welcome Screen and press Ctrl + Alt + Shift (Mac: Cmd + Opt + Shift) and keep pressing.
3. Click on "Edit" from the Welcome Screen but keep pressing the keyboard keys - don't let up.
4. You will get a little dialog box asking if you want to delete the settings file. Click "Yes." You can let go of the keyboard keys now.
This will rebuild the file for you and often solves the issue.

Photoshop Elements upgrade for Mac in near future?

I use Aperture but would like an application to complete more sophisticated changes to a photo. Photoshop Element for Mac is one version behind the Windows version and the Mac version is about 18 months old. Has anyone heard if there is an updated version of Photoshop Elements due for the Mac in the near future?

In case you haven't already heard, Elements 8 is now out. I downloaded it a couple of days ago and it works great. Be sure to check out the system requirements to make sure you have the setup to use it.

Downloading/Installing Photoshop Elements 11 for Mac

I purchased Photoshop Elements 11 for Windows/Mac. (I have a Mac) I then downloaded the file and it opened to tell me that Mac can not open a windows file. I went back in and looked at the files downloaded and there were two files with different extensions.

2).7x
I went back into my orders to see if there was the .dmg file that I needed and it is not there. Then under the description of the purchase it says that the file available to download is the Windows file. When I go back to look at what I actually purchased, it says it was for Windows/Mac. Where is the file that I need for Mac?

i purchased photoshop elements 11 for my mac osx 10.8.2 and its not downloading. ive also tried downloading the trial version so that i can just punch in the product key after but it wont download all the way keeps saying theres an error. need help or need to return.
