Photoshop Elements 9 shutting down when using the Spot Healing Brush

Hello! I recently downloaded and
installed the PSE 9 on my PC. Obviously I wanted to check out it's possibil
ities and especially the Spot Healing Brush. The program seems to work fine until I want to use the Spot Healing Brush
As soon as I try to apply something to a picture, I get the message something is wrong with "photoshopeditor.exe" and needs to shut down the program.
That's really annoying and hopefully someone may have the answer and solution why it does this. I run the program on Windows XP (SP3).
I really appreciate your help. Best regards, CharlesHHH.

Hello MTSTUNER,
Somehow my post showed up twice. Anyway...just updated to 9.01 and problem solved!!
Thanks so much for your quick feedback. Much appreciated. Will now go into exploring its possibilities.

Hello all, I just downloaded and installed a trial version of Photoshop Elements 9. Of course I wanted to use that supposedly great "heal" tool. The program seems to work fine, but as soon as I use the Spot Healing Brush, I get the message that something occured and the program has to shut down. It's installed on a Windows XP, SP3 PC. Can anyone shed some light on why this is happening? I appreciate you help. Best regards,

  • Photoshop CS6 shuts downs when using the move tool

Photoshop CS6 shuts downs when using the move tool. It seemas to run fine until i try and use the move tool. PS worked fine just a few weeks ago and now it has this issue. What can i do to resole this issue?
    Thnaks,
    System Specs
    Windows XP Home SP3
    AMD Atholon 64 X2 Dual
    2GB RAM
    Video Cards
    Radeon 7200
    NVIDIA GeForce 8400GS

    7. If you are using more than one video adapter, remove the additional cards.
Multiple video adapters can cause problems when OpenGL and Photoshop use the GPU. It's best to connect two (or more) monitors into one video adapter. If you have to use more than one video adapter, make sure that they are the same make and model. Also make sure that they both support the same versions of OpenGL and Shader Model. Otherwise, crashes and other problems can occur in Photoshop.
Note: Using two video adapters does not enhance Photoshop's performance.

Have you done a Forum search yet?
Is your GPU driver up to date?
What are your version of Photoshop, OS and GPU anyway?

Yeah, I hope it is just a firmware-problem. AND that Nokia will release an update soon. The version on my phone now is 021.013, and it is from July. A firmware update is long overdue now, especially after all the other problems reported with this phone. And btw I have turned the phone on and off several times without this helping to fix the radio-issue...
I guess I will have to return the phone soon, if Nokia is unable to release a fixed firmware.

  • PSE 9 crashes when I use the Spot Healing Brush tool

When I use the Spot Healing Brush tool PSE9 crashs completly. Is it a bug? In the older version 8 I had no problem.
I use WIN XP SP2, Intel Pentium 4, 3 Ghz, GPU: NVIDIA Geforce FX 5700, DirectX 9.0c 4.09.00.0904.
I tried it also on another PC with WIN7 and it caused the same problem.
    Thanks for any adivse

I know this post doesn't really help you guys, but I'm also using PSE9 on a Win7 Intel Quad Core Dell computer and the spot healing brush works fine. I only offer this post to indicate that it apparently is not a universal bug in PSE9. Perhaps an Adobe expert can jump in here and help. I can only offer that in Preferences I do have the RAM dialed up to 80%, but I don't think this is related to your problem.

  • Could not use the spot healing brush because of an internal error!

Hi All. I have been trying out the Photoshop CC trial and all is well but all of a sudden I have been getting the "could not use the spot healing brush because of an internal error" message when I'm using the healing brush rapidly! I'm sending the tiff file from Capture One Pro 8 as a Tiff file so I'm not sure if this has anything to do with it.
    Many Thanks

Hi it does not crash but I looked in the Photoshop Crashes folder anyway and it was empty! The message flags up and then press OK to remove it.

  • Problems using the Spot Healing Brush

I've tried to use the spot healing brush on a number of photos but it doesn't work at all - I've watched the video tutorial, but wehen I try and use it nothing happens - it appears to be the only part of Lightroom 5 that doesn't work.
How can I solve this problem?

    Keith,
This is what happens when I try and use the Spot Healing Brush:
I can select spots to heal/delete/duplicate - both single and multiple
After selection and hitting "done" nothing happens.
Consequently the spots I jhave tried to heral appear on the exported picture.
I would expect the Spot Healing Brush in Lightroom 5 to acxt the same as in Adobe Photshop Elements 10 - ie. you see the spot disapear, but for some reason it is not.
Hence the question, as I am wondering whether I'm doing something wrong-I've wateched the tutorial and it doesn't give me any clues as to whether I am doing anything wrong to erase/remove the spots.

Tried to use the spot healing brush and clone stamp and got error messages "cannot use because the scratch disks are full."  What does this mean? PSE9

Elements uses drive space to make its calculations, like someone writing down measurements on a scrap of paper. How much free space is there on your hard drive?

  • Photoshop CC shuts down when using Contact Sheet?

Why does everything shut down when I'm using the Contact Sheet II in brigde?? I Really need this for a job most recently tommorrow.. Can someone solve this? Everything just turns black, and I'm getting to the start/login screen in windows 8 when the contact sheet is under progress or done.. I pick like 30 images in jpg, so it can't be that it is to big or many files..
And I will have to say this "forum" is very complicated and there's really no time to search around to find some kind of support.. Takes hours.. And the login function seems to be out of function a lot or something.

  • E52 - Shuts down when using the radio

    Hi!
I have discovered that my E52 shuts down whenever I try to use the radio. After 10-20 seconds of use the phone shuts down, and restarts itself (without turning the radio back on).
The strange thing is that this only seems to happen when I use the radio here in Norway (where the phone was bought). I have used the radio in London and Berlin without this problem, but every time I try to use the radio in Norway the phone shuts down. Seems like there's a conflict with the RDS maybe??
Does anyone have a way of fixing this?
    Jim

Hit the T key to get the toolbar to show up.  The "Visualize Spots" feature works on all type of files, not just RAW.

  • Where is the spot healing brush?

    Hello Everyone,
I've been a Lightroom user for a couple of years now but very new to photoshop.  Still figuring out all the cool stuff this program has to offer.  I want to use the spot healing brush to touch up a few images but I'm not able to locate it in Photoshop CS5.  I've looked in what I thought were the most logical places, looked thorugh the documentation and did some searching online but I haven't yet found the icon/function I'm looking for.   I do see the healing brush and I have been able to use the content-aware fill function successfully
The format of the working image (raw, jpeg) seems to make no difference.  I read online that the spot healing brush only works with jpeg images.  Is this true?  I was able to use content aware fill on a raw image.
Here's a screenshot showing all the tools and the various tool presets.  I'm running CS5 version 12.0.4 x64 on Windows 7.  Would appreciate it if someone can let me know what I'm missing here?
    Thanks,
    Dini

The spot healing brush is located in the same tool slot as the healing brush, just
click and hold on the healing brush icon in the tool box to see the hidden tools.
As far as i know the spot healing brush works on most other images besides jpegs, so
no it's not true that the spot healing brush only works on jpegs.

  • Can anyone answer why photoshop CS3 shuts down when I use the scanner?

Can anyone help me with why photoshop CS3 shuts down when I use the scanner? I recently upgraded to OS X Yosemite.

Ask in the PS forum and be much more specific. You have not provided exact system information, crash logs, scanner details. That said, this may be a compatibility issue that can't be overcome.
