  • Adobe Photoshop Elements 6.0 - Updater

Hello, i use Adobe Photoshop Elements 6.0 on an IMac Late 2009, OSX Mavericks (all Updates are new). I will change to OSX Yosemite and will update Adobe Photoshop Elements 6.0 before. I tried to Update, but the Adobe Updater gets no Internet Connection. I tried it without Firewall..... but no Connection. Can i download an Adobe Photoshop Elements 6.0 Update manuell? I've seen there s an Update for Adobe Photoshop Elements 9.03. Could i use this?

There is a difference between updates and upgrades.  UPdates are modifications to specific version, such as in your case you own version 6.  Version 9 is an upgrade which you would have to have purchased to acquire.  Version 9 is no longer for sale by Adobe.
If you want to see what updates are available for version 6 then try the following page:

    Hi JuVé Photography,
Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling Photoshop Elements 12 completely? Sometimes that error can occur if the current installation became damaged.
You should be able to download the installer again if you need it from here: Download Photoshop Elements products | 12, 11, 10

Try making a direct desktop icon for the Editor and see if you can launch the program directly from the desktop.
Right click anywhere on the desktop and select New à Shortcut
    Browse to Computer OS C:
And find the PSE Editor application in Program Files or Program Files (x86) on Windows 7 - 64 bit.
    C: à Program Files à Adobe à Photoshop Elements 9
Within the Photoshop elements 9 folder find PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe (with the blue icon)
Select that file and click Next.
    Then click Finish.
You should now be able to launch by double clicking on the new desktop icon, bypassing the welcome screen.

  • Photoshop Elements won't access my HP printer

When I click on Print, my HP Fax software is opened even though the printer is selected.  I reinstalled my printer software and still no luck.   The printer software is the default.   I see that others have had this problem but I haven't seen any suggested solutions for this.

    Thanks, that did the trick.

This solution has been mentioned several times: The names of the printer and fax are too long.  In Windows, open the properties of each device and rename them to something like "HP Printer" and "HP Fax". Ken

  • Adobe photoshop elements won't download updates

I recently installed adobe photoshop elements on my MacBook. Whenever I open the application, it automatically tries to update. I get this dialog box.
An error occured while attempting to download a file from the adobe online web server. The request was not understood by the server HTTP #400 Bad request.
Not only can it not download updates, it freezes my whole machine and I have to force a manual shut down by pressing on the power button for 5 seconds. In short, I can only use Photoshop Elements when I am not connected to the web.
I've also had trouble downloading Adobe Reader for pdf documents. I have no trouble on my PC. This seems very strange since Mac and Adobe are good friends.

    Hi famo-sa,
adobe and apple are truly good friend, but it also depend on what version of both that try to communicate each other.
First, 400 bad request is happen more because of browser send something that other end server cannot understand, for that, you can try to disable automatic update check on element and try to find updater using other browser.
    http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=40&platform=Macintosh
And maybe since the elements is not universal yet, failed to do the update make your intel mac crash.
Try to repair permission: application folder > utilities folder > disk utility > repair permission.
and try to download reader from here:
    http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html
    Good Luck.

  • Photoshop Elements won't open

I've been using this computer in my workshop for simple things, mostly email, fb, etc. It has had Photoshop CS (very old, not sure what version) and Photoshop Elements 2.0 on it and both have been working fine. Just brought it into the house to use in the office after my slightly newer, but still old, iMac G5 died. I'm hoping to use it for a short time while figuring out what to do next regarding a newer computer. I've gotten it connected to printer and scanner with a bit of trouble due to trying to find old drivers again. That's really all I'm aware of having changed. Now suddenly PE and P CS won't open. I reinstalled PE (which is what I use most); no change. It starts to open, then just quits. I've clicked on "report" and see the following:
    Date/Time:      2012-04-11 00:02:41.529 -0400
    OS Version:     10.4.11 (Build 8S165)
    Report Version: 4
    Command: Photoshop Elements 2.0
    Path:    /Applications/Adobe Photoshop Elements 2/Photoshop Elements 2.0/Contents/MacOS/Photoshop Elements 2.0
    Parent:  WindowServer [66]
    Version: 2.0 (2.0)
    PID:    246
    Thread: 0
    Exception:  EXC_BAD_ACCESS (0x0001)
    Codes:      KERN_INVALID_ADDRESS (0x0001) at 0x6f726b2e
Of course there's lots more but that's the part with the bad words like "bad access" and "invalid address" and such. I'm hoping someone can tell me what is going on; perhaps you know what the above means? Or maybe there is some other clue here? I'd be grateful. Thanks for reading.
    Judy
PS Just to be clear, no major changes in software; I have been running both Photoshop programs on this computer, with OS 10.4.11, since getting the computer as a hand-me-down a couple of months ago. I did update OS, Safari, and a few other things at that time, as well as maxing the memory, deleting many programs and files I'll never use, etc. Installed PE 2.0 at that time. CS was already on it. Both have worked just fine. When I reinstalled PE the installer said it had installed properly.

Well, just in case someone else checks in here with the same problem. Got both programs working just fine again. I hunted up other threads on the same topic; several had posts suggesting trashing certain plug-ins and/or prefs. I'd tell you exactly what but I did a bunch and not sure which solved it. With Photoshop CS 8.0, I deleted plist in user library; no change; then deleted twain plug-in, now it opens just fine. I don't exactly comprehend why, but so far so good. If I have any other useful observations I will post them.

PS I ordered a PRAM battery and will replace that anyway, just because I'm certain it is quite old; perhaps this will prevent other problems popping up. I need to get a bit more use out of this nice old machine!

  • Photoshop Elements 6.0 Update to 6.01 Fails

    My computer:
    Dual Core @ 3 GHz
    8 G Ram
    Win 7 64
    HD - 500 G
Earlier today, I re-installed Photoshop Elements 6.0.  The installation was completed without any issues. I then downloaded the file, ps601up.exe, from adobe.com to update Elements to 6.0.1. During the update process, I am asked to verifiy the path where adobe photoshop 6.0 is located, which I do. Upon clicking "next," a dialog box appears saying, Could not find Photoshop Elements 6.0 installed on this machine. Please be sure Photosop 6.0 is installed."
The program is obviously installed. I even uninstalled and reinstalled it with the same result. Hopefully some one out there has a quick and hopefuly easy solution.
    Thanks in advance,
    Umrk

    Hi,
As far as i know there is no update 6.01 for photoshop elements 6.
Do you have photoshop elements 6 and not photoshop 6, because there is a big difference?
Where did you download the 6.01 update from?
It sounds like you downloaded the 6.01 update for the old photoshop 6 circa 2001.
These are the available updates for photoshop elements 6 on a windows machine:
    (where it says Version 6)

  • Photoshop Elements 6.0 "updating'

Everytime I open Photoshop Elements 6.0 it goes into an 'updating'  process which takes about 10 minutes and I can't do anything else until it is done. How can I stop this from happening?

Thanks, it hasn't done it since I sent the email.  (Isn't that always the
way!).   But I know that once it is 'updating' I can't use any keys except
to 'minimize' it.  I'll wait till it happens again and see.

  • Photoshop Elements won't install on Windows 8

First & foremost, I'm incredibly irritated that my Photoshop Elements 6 won't install on my new Windows 8 laptop. (I did the right thing: uninstalled from the old laptop before wiping the drive to get it ready for resale.)  And now, instead of getting true & real support from Adobe, I'm directed to a user Forum.  BS!  Absolutely UNACCEPTABLE consumer support!!!!  I will NEVER AGAIN purchase an Adobe product.  Of course, this is no slam against other Adobe users on the Forum - it's just that Adobe needs to take a stronger ownership  of its problems - they should NOT let all of us swirl around and find answers to their problems.

Photoshop Elements 6 is ancient software. It may or may not run under Windows 8. I am sure you could have paid for customer technical support for your issue, but it might be that you still would have been told that it was not compatible or that it was a untested combination. Adobe stops giving installation support on older versions after the new version comes out. If you post in the Photoshop Elements forum you may find other users that have or have not been able to install Photoshop Elements 6 on Windows 8. You were actually given great support to visit the forums, since our collection of users have much more experience than many people that work in Adobe Technical Support.
