Photoshop elements moving to new motherboard

I will be doing a Windows 8.1 upgrade in place with my current programs and settings.   Hopefully Photoshop and Premier Elements will work just fine.  If not what do I have to do to reinstall them?
On another note I just installed the educator edtions of the above on my PC.  Whenever I open either program I get a message that Adobe Application Manager is missing or damaged.  I download it and it fails to initialize.  Then I am directed to download another application to sort this all out and that program is no longer available.  The programs run fine.  Do I have an issue here.  Many thanks.....

Although the upgrade should be able to work fine on your installed Adobe products, I would still take some precautions like deactivating the PSE and PE products just in case you need to reinstall them.  To deactivate the products, is a simple proves if you have PSE12 or PSE13.  It is by going to:
Help >> Sign out
This should deactivate the products on adobe servers if the internet is available to access it.  Activating them again is also in the similar fashion.
Whenever I open either program I get a message that Adobe Application Manager is missing or damaged.
You can check this out by launching the PSE and then going to:
Help >> updates
This always launches Adobe Application Manager so if it is damaged, you will get some error messages on the screen.  However, you can download the latest version (if any) by going to:
<Adobe - Adobe Application Manager : For Windows : Adobe Application Manager>
<Adobe - Adobe Application Manager : For Macintosh : Adobe Application Manager>
PLEASE DON'T DOWNLOAD ANY OTHER PRODUCTS TO CORRECT THIS AS THEY ARE LIKELY TO BE FROM SOME DODGY WEBSITES.  Adobe hasn't got any products that can correct this problem apart from reinstalling it by downloading from the official links I have posted above..

    I am trying to install Photoshop Elements on my new Windows 8 computer (I recently upgraded my windows 7 computer where Photoshop was working fine on before).  It says the serial number is invalid.  Do older versionsnot work on Windows8, or do I need to uninstall it from my old computer first?

    You are allowed to have two activated installations.  If you happened to have one on this Windows 8 machine before, it is possible that the activation used for it was never deactivated (did you deactivate it before you upgraded Windows?).  Talk to Adobe support thru chat.  They might be able to resolve this with you:

  • Installing old Photoshop Elements on a new computer

    I have an old version of Photoshop Elements and a new MAC. It was previously installed on my PC which crashed. But the new MAC won't let me install this software - it tells me there is an error with the install.

    OK... so this is an OLD version - it is 4.0 (2006). My MAC is running OS X Version 10.8.2. The installation begins and some of the files begin installing then it quits and the message reads: "The installer encountered an error that caused the installation to fail. Contact the software manufacturer for assistance."
    Thanks

    What is the exact error message which you receive?  Also what version of Photoshop Elements are you trying to install?  Finally what version of Mac OS are you using?

    Thank you.

    Hi ,
    Your windows is 32 bit or 64 bit .
    If win 7 32 bit
    Just copy the plugin from PSE 11 and paste it to PSE 13 plug-in folder.
    If win 7 64
    PSE 11 and PSE 13 are installed as a 32 and 64 bit respectively , so you need to install plug-in again.
    Thanks,

    I just updated my mac from Tiger to Mountain Lion.  wiped the computer clean and started fresh Loaded Photoshop elements 11 (brand new in the box) and when I try to start it - it comes up saying - Licensing for the product has stopped working contact for help. in Looking for help I was directed here. what do I do?

    I don't know enough to not follow directions. I bought the software brand new in a sealed from factory box. Had it sitting around until - last week when I deleted flash on my computer and had to upgrade to the new OSX. Mountain Lion doesn't use iPhoto - so I had to go with something else. Since I already had this new - unopened package  I opened it up. Shut down all running programs - inserted the disk and followed all the directions for installation.  Still it didn't work.
    I have now uninstalled it (the proper way) and am going to try again.
    I appreciate your responses.
    Thank you!
    If this doesn't work - I am going to just buy Lightroom.

    Transferring does not work, you need to install using installation files. Downloadable versions can be found at the following linked pages...

    Do I have to purchase Photoshop Elements because the newer photoshops are cost prohibitive?

    Do you mean CS2 won't run on your present operating system?
    Admittedly CS2 is rather old and Adobe no longer supports it, but it should still run on older operating systems.  Which OS do you have?
    Elements is one option.  However if you want PS Extended with all the bells & whistles, look at the $10/mo  Photography plan which includes Lightroom.
