Photoshop elements printing problem

every time I try to print an image the print options revert back to a print size  etc that I was using earlier. Can't a new size and option such as borderless that I used for the last print stay and be used for multiple prints.

I don't get the math here. What is " 4x6 expanded to the full 11 inch side of the paper" ?
Your paper stock is 81/2x11. ok.
What is the size of the image, in inches, and the resolution in px/in? You can see the values in Image>resize>image size. Don't do anything here, just read the numbers and report back.
Thank you.

  • Problem with Photoshop Elements Printing

I have been using Photoshop Elements for a couple of years now and know it pretty well.  Today while attempting to print, a strange problem came up:  After going through the protocol to make a print, just before the image prints PE does a very fast auto correction that basically ruins all the color correction I have made on the image.  How do I disable this function?

Hi and thanks for your reply. I checked the settings under "Print", "More Options", then "Color Management" and it only has "Print Space", none of the three options that you said I should have.  Am I looking in the wrong place?

Check your color management by clicking More Options in the print dialog There are basically three options:1) Printer Manages Color2) Elements Manages color3) No color Management Make sure everything is consistent e.g. if you choose Elements manages color make sure color management is switched off in the print driver.

  • Photoshop Elements 10: Problem opening .csf

    Hi,
I'm currently designing the cover for my highschool's yearbook and the company that's printing our books sent us an email with a .csf file telling me to do the following:
"Before starting on your cover, please make sure you have loaded the "Jostens.csf" file.
The attached file “Jostens.csf” is the colour management file that will need to be loaded into the programs you will be using to create the cover. Whether you’re working in Adobe Photoshop, InDesign or Illustrator, the procedure for activating these colour settings is the same.
From the Edit menu, select Colour Settings. Click the Load button and browse to the Jostens.csf file. Select it and click OK. Click OK in the Settings window and your cover file will now be set to print properly at the plant."
Now I tried doing what they told me to but when I go to Color Settings I cannot find a Load button.
I also tried to simply double click the file to load it onto Elements but I get this error message saying:
"Cannot Open 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 10\Required\ColorSettings\Jostens 2015.csf' because it is the wrong type of file."
My question is, how do I load this .csf file into Elements 10?

It looks like a Problem in this thread http://forums.adobe.com/message/4004903#4004903, only i have this problem with normla .jpg images. Is there a workaround?

  • Aperture 3 and Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 problems.

I have installed Adobe Photoshop Elements 10, which I have setup as plugin for Aperture 3. In Aperture preferences the photos are exported as 8 bit TIFF 300 DPI, no profile and automatically stack new versions selected in general.
I right click on selected image (version) in Aperture and select edit with Elements, this create another version of the same photo in Aperture but increasing size from say 5MB to around 40MB.   The Elements programme opens in Elements editor but the selected image is not there, I can only drag it in from Aperture.   I then edit the image, then click save, it open a box save as and to a wierd folder like Uwvo2vg  etc.   I click save, get message saying it will overwrite file of same name, click save  using a unique name.   When I go back to Aperture, the edited file is not there and when I search for the unique name, nothing comes up.

I had somewhat similar problems running Elements 10 as external editor, but under 10.6.8. The simplest fix is to send .psd's instead of .tiff. You can change that in preferences.
If you must use .tiff (I do, becaues PTLens doesn't like psd) you have to change the file extension to .tiff in the save dialog. Elements saves as .tif and Aperture saves as .tiff. Notice the number of 'f' at end of extension.
Here's what was happening to me, which is a little different:
    • when you send to external editor, Aperture saves a .tiff and opens it in in Elements
    • you do your work and close the file
    • Elements saves as .tif, and so doesn't overwrite the Aperture tiff.
    • Aperture doesn't know the .tif exists so it shows you the un-edited .tiff that if made at the beginning
I get around this at the save dialog in Elements. Basically Elements goes into a Save As kind of dialog, so if I add the extra 'f' at the end, Elements asks if I want to over-write the existing file, and when I say yes the changes show in Aperture.
If you open Elements and go to 'Recent Files' (or something like that), you can see the .tif and .tiff files together. If you delete the .tiff and add the extra 'f' to the Elements .tif, the changes will show in Aperture.
What you shouldn't be doing is changing the name of the file in Elements. For the edits to show in Aperture you need to save the file with the same name and change the extension to .tiff. The file that Elements saves must have exactly the same name as the one Aperture made, because that's the file that Aperture knows about.
If you do a library database repair, Aperture will find these .tifs and add them to the library, but they won't be where they should be. The show up in a recovered file folder at the bottom.
Note that Elements 8 didn't have this kind of trouble. And note that I'm not running Lion, so some of the behaviors I describe may be different that what Lion users see.

All of my photographs have a question mark(?) on them. When I want to sharpen the image I get a message saying "file missing

  • Adobe Photoshop Elements 8 Problem

Ok so here is the problem. I have a windows vista. If that has anything to do with my problem. But the thing is everytime i try to download it i get a report saying i can acess it and it is already installed, but i can not find the file it is under. Could it be a computer error? Help if you can. Im not very good with computers my self so this would help alot. Thank you =)

Check if there is an entry of Adobe Photoshop Elements 8.0 in your Add and Remove Programs wizard inside Control Panel. If not, it might be that due to some previous attempt PSE is installed on the system partly and for some reason did not rollback properly.
Look at the below link and try removing the corresponding entries for PSE 8 from the machine, and then try to run the installer with admin user again:
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/405/kb405847.html
Make sure that you are not running any Antivirus (Espscially Norton) while installing PSE. You can resume the protection later once the installation is done successfully.

  • Photoshop elements installation problems

Hi there. I have a purchased disk of adobe photoshop elements 9 and i am having problems installing it on my MAC.
I tried to download it as well in case there was something wrong with the CD but the same problem appeared as well. It says "Inconsistency in the installer database. Please restart your computer and install again." This appears in the middle of the installation procedure. My MAC runs OS X and the version is 10.6.7.
I also tried the adobe support advisor but it didn't detect anything.
    PLease help

    Hi Jeff,
thank you for you're answer. As already posted before, i tried every solution that came from the adobe support or i found in the web.
This included the solutions in the posted link. I deinstalled every adobe product on my Laptop and my complete antivirus and web Protection suite. I even made changes in the registry, that were suggested from the adobe support.
I had solutions from adobe developer after analycing my log files. That is the reason I spent this much time with installations tries.
That is the reason I asked for a service pack, because I see no chance in getting this version installed.
will there be a patch or something like that?
    thanks Michael

  • Photoshop Elements 10 Problem (Windows 7 64)

I recently purchased a Wacom Intruo Pen and Touch Tablet in which Photoshop Elements 10 program came with it. The program was downloadable off of the Wacom website. I had no problems when downloading it and the program worked twice before never working again. I have uninstalled it and reinstalled the program several times. I have contacted Wacom Tech Support they told me some simple steps that I have done before then told me to contact Adobe. I tried to contact Adobe the same day, but sadly was put on hold for an hour. I have looked up so solutions on the Adobe website, but none of these tips (http://forums.adobe.com/message/4122506) so far have worked.
Is there anything I am missing that may help my program actually run?

The editor saved prefs often get corrupted. This is because PSE saves your settings each time you close the application. Problems can sometimes occur if you don’t let the program close properly or if you launch another application too quickly whilst closing down Elements. You may need to rebuild the editor preferences to resolve any conflicts. To begin, close Elements.
Hold down the Ctrl+Shift+Alt keys and simultaneously click on the Edit button on the welcome screen. After a few seconds release the three keys and look behind the welcome screen by closing it. Alternatively hold down the three keys whilst  clicking on the desktop icon for the Editor or PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe in Programs Files (x86) folder. Keep holding down all three keys for a few seconds; then release. You should get the settings option.
When you see a pop up box with the words: Delete Adobe Photoshop Elements Settings File?
    Click on Yes
Then wait whilst Elements rebuilds the preferences.

  • Photoshop Elements 9 - problems with locating photo files

I have saved my photos and my catalog on a removable hard drive.  When my laptop's techical support had to unexpectedly replace my laptop's hard drive, it meant I had to reinstall Photoshop Elements 9, which we have done.  For some reason, the My Catalog on the removable hard drive was showing that it was created in Photoshop elements 6 which was surprising since I know that I had used it in Photoshop Elements 9.  I went ahead and converted My Catalog.  It now shows the key tags, star ratings, and captions, etc.  Everything except the basic picture.  It is not looking for the files on the removable hard drive.  What can I do to get it to look at the removable drive where they are stored with a matching file name in the appropriate subdirectories?  The properties of the pictures seem to be showing the photos as being at various other locations that no longer exist!  What do I do?  I do not relish having to reimport, re-caption, re-edit, etc., etc. for hundreds of pictures.  Photoshop's catalog sensitivity is really frustrating.  I am about ready to go to another product.  If I have to re-construct everything again, it will be my second re-construction of a PS catalog.  And I will strongly consider a much more forgivng product.

Suggest that you make your own collage, esp. since time is running out. Do the math and determine the size that each of the 5 pictures should be, leave enough room to add text.
Crop each picture to the appropriate size.
Go to File>new>blank file, enter height and width of your document, background white, resolution 300px/in. The resolution of the pictures should be the same.. However, resolution 240-300px/in is probably ok for printing
Open the 5 picture files. Access pict. #1, go to Edit>copy, open the blank file created in step #3, then go to Edit>paste
Repeat for the other pictures. Each will on on its own layer. Use the move tool to position, and resize with the corner handles if necessary.
Using the type tool add text.
TIP: Open the grid to help you to position the pictures. The grid can be configured via Edit>Preferences>Guides and grid. You may want to check "snap to grid" under View>snap to grid

  • Photoshop Elements 10 Problem

Just yesterday my pen tablet pen began to act strange.  Whenever I go into PS Elements 10, I use the brush tool.  Once I use it in a stroke, the second time nothing shows up. I cannot draw properly with it doing this.  I've done everything to stop the problem; restarted windows, reinstalled my tablet.  I really need help!

Try the Photoshop Elements forum down the hall

  • Photoshop Elements 12 - problems with copying image

I'm trying to select a person from one photo and put them into a completely different photo.  Using the selection brush (the lasso and magic wand didn't work with this photo) I have outlined the person then copied to the other photo.  The problem is when I paste all I get is an outline, no content.  I've also tried using the move tool with the same result, just the outline, no content.  I've watched various videos and tried many other methods with no luck.  Even unloaded and reloaded Photoshop Elements 12.  Anyone had any advice?  Thank you.

If you are using the regular selection brush, not the quick select tool, it only selects the area directly under the brush, so if you are using a small brush to brush around the outline, that's all you're selecting. The quickest way to fix it is to increase the brush size and hold down the shift key while brushing over the area within the outline, or switch over to the quick select tool, which finds the edges of objects  automatically.

  • Adobe Photoshop Elements 12 - problems downloading

I have Windows 7 on my computer, and Photoshop Elements 12 will not download properly.  When I checked further on my computer, it is the Windows XP compatible version.  How do I get the correct version to download?

If you downloaded PSE 12 for Windows then you downloaded the correct version.  There are only two versions, one for PC and one Mac.  The PC version covers Windows XP SP3 thru Windows 8.1.
If you are having a problem downloading you can always try a direct download of the trial version thru the fllowing site.

(z.B. Dokumente und Einstellungen unter all users).
    Gibt es Hilfe??
    Grüße von H.B.

that refers to color profiles. Depending on what operating system you use, this could be simple compatibility or permission problems. also another Adobe app on teh system could already have installed newer versions of those profiels... Impossible to tell without more info.
