Photoshop elements raw plug in

Hi,
Ive just bought a new laptop with Windows 8, I have upgraded from my Acer laptop with visa that also had PS Elements installed with the suitable plug in for my Nikon D600 raw files.
Ive de-activated Elements from my old acer then installed it on  my new laptop, ive been in to the help menu and clicked updates and it hessitated and comes back with a message of "The update server is not responding, The server might be offline temporarily, or the internet or firewall settings may be incorrect, Please try again later. Error Code U41M1C212"
Right, ive tried switching off all of my firewalls, i have checked my interenet connection, ive un-installed it and re-installed it, ive been trying to update since the end of December with no joy.
Please can someone advise in simple terms, im not too 'up' on Windows 8 just yet.
Any advice gratefully recieved, im missing using my Elements :-(

  • Need Photoshop camera RAW plug-in

need to get the Photoshop camera raw plug-in so that we can use raw files for editing. This plug in should include software for Nikon, Canon, Pentax and Olympus camera raw files.
Have Creative Suite 5 Design Standard and Photoshop Lightroom 4.4.1 64-bit.

    Hi,
All Camera Raw software support raw files created by some cameras from Nikon, Canon, Pentax and Olympus. Each camera model has a unique version of the camera raw format which is why Adobe keep producing new versions of camera raw.
See FAQ: Will Photoshop Elements work with my camera, or Why won't my raw files open?
This is the Photoshop Elements forum so we could advise you further if you give us the camera models that you want to use and which version of Photoshop Elements you are using.
Both CS5 and LR 4 are old versions and the camera raw is not being updated for those versions. If you need further help, it is best to ask in the following forums.
    Photoshop General Discussion
    Photoshop Lightroom
It would also be good to tell us which operating system you are running on.

  • Need Photoshop Elements RAW plugin for Canon 70D using MAC

Need Photoshop Elements RAW plugin for Canon 70D using MAC - please advise where I can find it to download. Thanks.

To work with the Canon 70D, you will need Camera Raw version 8.2 or later:
    http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/camera-raw-plug-supported-cameras.html
In order to work with this version of Camera Raw, you will need Photoshop Elements 12:
    http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/camera-raw-compatible-applications.html
If you do not have Photoshop Elements 12, you can use the DNG converter to convert the CR2 files to DNG, which will then work in whatever version of Photoshop Elements you have:

I have Photoshop CS5.1 (bought in 2011). The photoshop Camera Raw plug-in is not recognizing the format of my new Nikon D610. I updated the version of my Camera Raw plug in and am still getting this message when trying to open images in photoshop. Please help.

This link shows that ACR 8.3 supports the Nikon D610 and 6.7.1 was the final version for CS5.
Camera Raw plug-in | Supported cameras
So you can upgrade to CS6 and ACR 8.7.1
or using the DNG converter, convert your Nikon raw files to dng format to open in CS5.
Here is the download link: Adobe - Adobe Camera Raw and DNG Converter : For Macintosh : Adobe DNG Converter 8.7.1
or Windows: Adobe - Adobe Camera Raw and DNG Converter : For Windows : Adobe DNG Converter 8.7.1
And here is a great video tutorial on how to use the converter.

  • If I'm in Lightroom 5, and try to Edit in Photoshop CS6, I always get the following message: "This version of Lightroom may require the Photoshop Camera Raw plug-in version 8.6 for full compatibility." But I have updated to 8.6 and have no remaining updat

If I'm in LIghtroom 5, and try to Edit in Photoshop CS6, I always get the following message: "This version of Lightroom may require the Photoshop Camera Raw plug-in version 8.6 for full compatibility." But I have updated to 8.6 and have no remaining updates. How can I fix this?
If I click "Open Anyway" or "Render using Lightroom", I get the following message:
"Adobe Photoshop CS6 cannot be opened because of a problem.
Check with the developer to make sure Adobe Photoshop CS6 works with this version of OS X. You may need to reinstall the application. Be sure to install any available updates for the application and OS X."
Please tell me what to do so I can edit from Lightroom to Photoshop.

In Photoshop, if you choose Help - About Plug-in... - Camera Raw, does it say 8.6?
Seems to me there was some hiccup they found in the update process, which prompted this:
Camera Raw updates cannot be applied
I honestly don't know if the problem could apply to 8.6 as well, which is why I asked you to check to make very sure you really got it.

  • Error Message -may need to download Photoshop camera raw plug in version 7.3 for full compatibility

I have been working in Lightroom 4.3 for MAC. From there I open 2 files to edit in Photoshop as layers so I can add a layer mask to the bottom layer and use the paint brush tool to make certain areas of the image darker or lighter. I have been doing this with no problem and now it doesn't seem to work. I can see the brushes' strokes on the layer mask but can not see the results on the image.
I keep getting a message from Lightroom saying I may need to download Photoshop camera raw plug in version 7.3 for full compatibility whener I try to edit on Photohsop thru Lightroom, but I have already added this plug in and it asks for it. It happens with raw, jpegs and tiffs from my 1D Mark II or my 5D Mark III and with other people's camera. It used to work fine. Now it dosen't I feel like it is something so simple. Please help. This si crucial to my business.

The wording of the message about ACR 7.3 is a bit misleading: What it means is that ACR 7.3 is required for Photoshop. Lr 4.3 has got it.
Which version of Photoshop are you using?
I suspect it's not CS6 but a prior version. If it is a version prior to CS6 you cannot install ACR (Adobe Camera Raw) 7.3.
You may have downloaded it but you cannot install it. It doesn't install.
On the other hand Lr 4.3 is based on ACR 7.3. So you have an incompatibility of ACR versions: 7.3 in Lr 4.3 and an earlier-version-ACR in Photoshop.
With this situation Lr an dPhotoshop are not fully compatible, i.e. you cannot open images as layers. You can only open one image at a time, either by letting Lr 4.3 render the PSD (or TIFF) and sending it to Photoshop (by selecting <Render using Lightroom>), or you let Photoshop open the Raw file with its earlier version ACR (by selecting <Open Anyway>).
In this situation you have two choices: Either upgrade to CS6, or open images in Photoshop one at a time and vonvert to layers in Photoshop.

  • Photoshop Elements 9 plug in and Aperture 3

I recently loaded Photoshop Elements 9 (for Mac).  I had expected the plug-in to appear automatically in the Aperture 3 pull down menu.  Obviously I have done something wrong.  But what?  Advice please

In Aperture, navigate to the "Aperture" -> "Preferences..." -> "Export" panel.
There's a box to select the external editor (use the "Choose" button and select Photoshop Elements 9).
It'll also ask about DPI (I think it will default to 300dpi and I'd leave that as the default.  You can change DPI in photoshop at any time and it does not effect the quality of the original image.)
It'll also ask what format you want to use when exporting to Photoshop... you'll have two choices of each TIFF and PSD in 8-bit and 16-bit color depths.  If you only shoot in JPEG then pick 8-bit.  If you shoot in RAW then choose 16-bit (RAW usually doesn't use the full 16 bit but it often uses more than the 8-bit JPEG formats.)
Meanwhile... back in the "General" category (still in the Preferences panel) there's a checkbox for "Automatically stack new versions".  I'm not certain if this is the default but I'd turn that on.  When you invoke the external editor, Aperture has to build a version of the file to send to Photoshop.  This will cause it to create a stack and put both versions in the stack.

  • Photoshop Elements/RAW

I am not able to download RAW files into my Photoshop Elements 6 program.

What camera model do you have and what version of the Camera Raw plug-in are you using with it?  You can check the CR versoin by doing Help / About Plug-in / Camera Raw in the PSE Editor program.
Basically, if your camera is newer than the version of Elements you are trying to use it with then it won’t work.  Specifically, the Camera Raw plug-in that Elements uses to interpret raw files needs to be newer, and Adobe only ever updates new cameras into the CR plug-in for the current version of Elements.
Unless the camera is so new that Adobe has yet to support it in any of their products, the solution is usually to buy the current version of Elements and update its Camera Raw plug-in to the latest version.
Adobe updates Elements in the Aug-Oct timeframe so within the next couple months, Elements 12 should be released so you might wait for that, and be sure to check what the operating system requirements are in case your OS is too old.
While waiting to upgrade, or as a permanent workaround, you can download the free Adobe DNG Converter program and convert each folder of photos to DNGs which older ACR versions can read.  Since your Elements is so old, you’ll need to also set the compatibility options to support and older version of CR before you click Convert.
The main thing that trips people up with the DNGC is that you are selecting Folders not Files so what you see in the bottom selection area of the Browse for Folder dialog is a folder name, and you won’t see any of your files in the file listing because you’re trying to find a folder not a file.

You need Adobe camera raw version 8.7. Unfortunately your software pre-dates the camera. ACR 8.7 is only compatible with PSE13. But it is possible to download and install the free DNG converter to convert your raw files to the Adobe universal Raw format and the files will open in all versions of PSE (keep your originals as backups and for use in the camera manufactures software)
Windows download (.exe file) click here DNG Converter 8.7
Mac download (.dmg file) click here DNG Converter 8.7
You can convert a whole folder of raw images in one click. See this quick video tutorial:

  • Photoshop CS - RAW Plug-In

I recently purchased a Nikon D60 and am unable to find a RAW plug-in that will work with Adobe Photoshop CS.  I tried Camera Raw 2.4, but still get the error - can not complete this request, this is not the right kind of document.
    I would appreciate any help.
    Thanks!

Every new model of camera had a different "RAW" format that requires ACR to
be updated for it.  If the D60 is a very new model, it will only work with
the ACR from the current model of photoshop, which would be CS4.   It is
Adobe's policy to only update the ACR of the current version of Photoshop
for new cameras, so you'll either need to update Photoshop to CS4, or use
the free DNG converter to convert every RAW file to a DNG which you can then
open in old versions of ACR.

  • How do I bypass the Photoshop Elements RAW editor?

I'm editing Canon raw files (CR2) with Photoshop Elements 10 by selecting the photos from the Elements Organizer. I want to go directly to the Elements editor, but instead I’m taken to the RAW editor and from there I have to select to open the photos in the Elements editor. I have no interest in using the RAW editor. How can I skip this step and have my RAW files open directly into the Elements editor just like any other image format?

Download and install the free Adobe DNG converter to convert your CR2 files to the Adobe Raw format and the files will open in all versions of PSE (keep your original CR2’s as backup) or for use with canon software.
Windows download click here DNG Converter 7.1

  • Photoshop Elements 10  plug-in required for the new Camera RAW file format used by the new Canon 6D

I have a new Canon 6D and prefer to use Camera RAW.  This new file format is not compatable with Elements 10.  A new plug-in maybe is required.
    Can anyone help?

I can't find Canon 6D in the list of supported cameras for even ACR 7.3. I would thus suggest you converting your raw files to dng using dng convertor tool and then open the dng files in ACR.
