PhotoShop Error Message

I have Photoshop CS4 on a Windows 8 computer that I've had since March. Until I was on the phone with Sony's Tech Support the other day, PS and all of my other Adobe products worked fine. However, after Tech Support installed some updates to my computer, I now see Error Message 148:3 when I launch PhotoShop and the software won't work at all!
I've had this software since 2010 when I bought it brand new with a suite. It's only installed on this one computer and the error message says the "license has stopped working."

Getting "could not initialize photoshop" error message on launch.

I'm getting this error message when launching Photoshop CC.. I uninstalled it, then reinstalled it. I'm not sure if I updated before I had this problem initially, but I'm getting the same message on launch of the newly installed PHotoshop. I'm running Mavericks on a MacBook Pro.

Can you confirm that this is Photoshop 7? The version that dates back to 2002?
What operating system are you using? It sounds like a reasonably up to date computer, and I am not sure if Photoshop 7 would even run on Windows 7 and Windows 8.
You have all sorts of issues if it is Photoshop 7. Being 32 bit, it won't be able to access most of your 8Gb — probably more like 2.5Gb. It might also have problems with large HDDs. Hmmm.... just read your post again, and I see you have a 1.5Tb boot drive. I have a strong feeling Windows 7 would not play nicely with that.
So let's confirm what Photoshop version and operating system you are using before we get carried away.

Im having problems with the latest version of photoshop, i've had support yesterday and we basically reinstalled it which worked fine until i tried to upgrade it again. which failed - so i uninstalled photoshop again to try and reinstall again form scratch - which it won;t allow me to do, when i go into the log i get the follwoing error messages:
parent relationship is not satisfied, because this payload is not present in this session

Photoshop: Error message 'Could not complete your request because of a program error.'

Photoshop CC 2014.2.2 on Macbook Pro with Retina Display. I am an inexperienced user.
While using Content Aware Fill I receive this message. I have tried opening Photoshop without plugins (holding Shift key while loading) but this does not seem to resolve the problem.
Can anyone offer any suggestions?

Thanks for the information. I tried it and the message "Could not complete your request because of a program error." comes up when I open the program or try to do anything in the program. So when I went to edit preferences it pops the same message up. It won't let me do anything in photoshop. I am up to date on the operating system but that didn't fix it either. Any other ideas would be appreciated. I cant use photoshop on my main computer at all!

Photoshop document created in current version of PSCC2014, now will not crop, resize, etc without throwing compatibility error.

You may be able to open the flattened composite or the embedded JPEG preview of your file in Adobe Illustrator, GraphicConverter (Mac only) or some such application, but your layers will be gone.
The problem of working across a network is that it's not supported by Adobe:

Copy the CLOSED file from your server to your local hard disk, work on it, save it again to your local hard disk, close it, and copy the closed file back to the server.

Lion does not support PowerPC Applications (Photoshop Elements 4, Quicken, etc.), that ran in Rosetta on the previous Intel OS X's.

So you will need to either update those Applications, stay with Snow Leopard or create a dual boot system.

Cannot download Photoshop, Error Message

I tried to open Photoshop, but it quit before I even got past the load screen and said it quit unexpectedly. I then deleted Photoshop from my comptuer and tried to download it again, to see if that would fix the issue, but it hasn't. It keeps saying there is an error and won't completely download.

you're probably going to need to uninstall all your cd6 apps, run the cleaner (http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html) and then reinstall.
IMPORTANT: Mac OS has new uninstall functionality. DO NOT drag applications to the trash to uninstall them. To safely uninstall on Mac OS X, double-click the product installer in Applications/Utilities/Adobe Installers or double-click the Uninstall alias located in the Application folder. Select Remove Preferences, then Authenticate as an Administrator and follow the onscreen instructions.
If you are uninstalling subscription software, note that uninstalling does not cancel or stop your subscription. To cancel your subscription, go to Your Subscriptions at www.adobe.com/go/subscriptionedition

Photoshop error message: dont' save PDF

After the latest patch installation, Photoshop CS5 ext. (12.1 x64 on windows7 64bit) don't save the files on the PDF format. The message: "the file is already open on other application"

Please elaborate on the process involved.
Are you trying to save a pdf copy off of a layerd file or editing a pdf with »Preserve Photoshop Editing Capabilities«?

Error message when installing Photoshop CS2 in Windows 8

I just upgraded to a computer with Windows 8. I use Photoshop CS2. I am getting the error message below when starting photoshop after installation. I changed program folders, but that did not work. Please advise.

Adobe Photoshop CS2 Error messages after update to mac os 10.4.6

After updated to mac os 10.4.6 everytime I use Photoshop CS2 I receive an error message "Could not complete your request because of a program error"
I did all the workarounds that were described in document 331627 from Adobe's website and nothing worked.
I also subscribe to maxosx.com support and someone suggested removing the legal.localized/Tien...file from the photoshop cs2/legal directory, but everytime I tried to select the directory "legal" from within the finder view, it disappeared and closed the finder window.
HELP!

Did you upgrade from a previous version of OS X like 10.3.x or 10.2.x or from a prior version of 10.4.x? If the former, there are probably some files in your previous system folder that need to be restored.
Otherwise, double click Photoshop when it's closed, and then IMMEDIATELY hold Command + Option + Shift. You'll get a box for resetting the settings. Select Yes and maybe that will help.

'No Disk' error message on Photoshop startup

Recently I have been receieving the following error message when Photoshop CS6 x64 srtarts up on my Windows 7 machine. Ps resides on my SSD.
I don't always get the message but when I press X, Cancel, Try Again, or Continue the message repeats until finally Ps starts. I'm not sure what drive \Device\Harddisk3\Dr3 is supposed to mean. Does anyone have a clue what Ps is complaining about?

I realize this is a mighty old thread, but I've recently had the same issue with Illustrator CSS 2014, and this is the only thread I could google that dealt with it.
I scratched my head for a while on this, but I think I figured out the issue. At least I think I figured it out on my end. The error comes from the "recently opened" menu as far as I can tell. I had an old external hard-drive that I was browsing some old work on. I unplugged it when done and continued to go along with my newer work the next day. When I attempted to save my newer work in Illustrator, I got the "no disk" message several times, but powered through it with "try again" till it saved.
I'm thinking the error is just the system bumping the file that I had recently opened and now cannot locate slowly down and eventually off the "recently opened" menu. Not sure why Windows is smart enough to bypass this error sometimes and not others with most portable drives, but perhaps its an issue with how old this drive was, or perhaps because I did not properly eject the drive. Networked drives being connected and not connected may cause a similar issue. Not sure.

ERROR MESSAGE: "Photoshop is a desktop app so you'll want to download it from your computer."

I just sigend up for Adobe Creative Cloud and I'm trying to install Photo Shop onto my desktop computer. When I click the download button I receive an error message saying "Photoshop is a desktop app so you'll want to download it from your computer." I cannot move forward with the download. Any advice on how to troubleshoot this problem?

In my case it's Illustrator and I'm trying to reinstall it. Clearing the cache and using another browser were no help. When I use IE instead of Chrome, an authentication dialog opens to ask permission for CC Desktop to launch, but when I "Allow" it, all that happens is that the CC app opens and gives no indication of a dowload or installation taking place.
I've always been a strong advocate of CC and was one of the earliest adopters (May 2012), but this is the end of the love affair. I need this fixed immediately. I have work to do. If I had a set-up file sitting on my computer or a disk, I would have no problem right now.

CS2 is not compatible with current versions of OSX or contemporary Macs. Just get over it.
