Exit Code 6 error on Mac for Photoshop cs6
Tried going through help sites for days finding a fix for Exit Code 6. None of the solutions have worked this far.
No errors when installing the trials for Ai, Id, and Acrobat CS6 on my Mac (which runs OS X version 10.9.2, Mavericks), but the same error always occurs when installing the trial for Ps CS6.
Here is the error summary:

Message title was edited by: Brett NDid you remove the bits of the failed install before going on? Try creating a new admin account for the install. If that doesn't work, try doing a fresh download from Adobe's site. Even if you bought the boxed version you can install the trial and enter your serial number.

Expect an answer.Hi Jeff.
Yes, I contacted the assistance by chat and phone. In the chat they asked me to call the phone, and in the phone they sent me the same link that Abhijit Kr sent to Exit Code 15, which did not work.
This Forum is the third way that I try to solve this problem.
Perhaps the procedure for exit code 15 has worked. Note that after I modified the file "media_db" the error changed. Now what appears is the Exit Code 34, not the 15.

That there is a clear indication you're attempting to install to the wrong location.
Don't do that!
All Adobe applications need to be installed in the ROOT LEVEL Applications folder, not buried somewhere in your desktop or your User folder.
It's a disgrace that Adobe support was not able to tell you that right off the bat.
The Root Level is what comes immediately after the name of your hard disk. The Applications folder there is the default install location for ALL applications.
In my personal opinion, it borders on criminal negligence that the blokes in the installer team even give the user an option to install in locations other than the applications folder. If it's not a criminal act, it's—at best—a monumental stupidity.

Suggestions? thanks.Issue resolved with the help of Adobe Support (Mercer). My problem had been seen in another machine, there were empty folders in the Fonts Folder (Hard Drive>Library>Fonts) that the installer could not reconcile or delete, that was hanging up the Installer.
My fix was to delete the following empty folders from the Fonts Folder:
AdobeMingStd-Light.otf
BickhamScriptPro-Regular.otf
KozMinPro-Regular.otf
MyriadPro-BoldCond.otf
TektonPro-BoldCond.otf
And then re-run the installer (be sure to empty the trash).
My advice would be to first read the installer log and look for names of font folders that could not be resolved, then dump those. Another way would be to dump any empty folders in the Fonts Folder, empty the trash, then re-sun the installer. -

Photoshop CS5 Exit Code 7 Unable to get root from inChildPath
I downloaded the trial version 32 bit and 64 bit, to my desktop (Core I7 3.2 GHZ, 12Gb ram, Win XP Pro 64) and when installing, it doesn't get past 0%, just spits out this:
0 fatal errors, 1 error, 0 warning
Error: Unable to get root from inChildPath
Exit Code:7 Unable to complete silent workflow
I wanted to see if the install files were bad, some I copied to my craptop, which runs Vista 32 bit, and it works fine. Any word yet on what causes this error? Going to check and see if I missed any updates while I wait to see if anyone's had this issue.Using your links, I can find Adobe's listing for error code 7, but all it tells me is that exit code 7 does not define my problem, but the lines that follow exit code 7 do. Which is the "unable to get root from inChildPath" bit. I might have missed something in your post, but when I poke around the links in the document, and in Adobe's troubleshooting search feature, I can't find anything about the terms "root from inChildPath".
Here's a recap of everything I tried yesterday, note that each error is exactly the same:
At the day's beginning, I had Adobe Master Suite CS4 installed, including PS CS4.
Without un-installing, I attempted to install Photoshop CS5 Trial > Got the error
Copied PS CS5 files to laptop, which also has Master Suite CS4 > Installed fine
Uninstalled Photoshop from Master Suite, then installed PS CS5 > Got the error
Tried to install only 64 bit > Got error
Did "Run As", signed in as admin > Got error
Booted into Safe Mode to install to see if a background process was conflicting > Got error
Reinstalled Master Suite for 6 hours and quit trying... -
Downloading Photoshop CC and getting constant Exit code: 06!
This is super annoying Adobe I pay you per month for a subscription service that apparently is worthless. I have been trying to get my Photoshop CC to download for hours and every time around the 42% download this stupid error pops up. It's not my laptop or settings. It worked fine months ago when I had to reinstall it on my laptop due to a system crash. Please tell me how to fix this error or fix it on your end!

Exit code 7 on photoshop elements 11 installation
I keep receiveing exit code 7 while installing photoshop elements 11 for mac os (using os 10.8.2)
I am using safe mode, have created a new admin, and have searched for the Adobe font that has been mentioned in all other threads with no avail. Any help would be much appreciated. You may want to review Error "Exit 6" or "Exit 7" | Install log | Read, write, system file errors | CS5, CS5.5 - http://www.adobe.com/products/discount-software-coupons.html?promoid=JOLJG&sdid=KBJPX.
Also to find a more specific error message I would recommend reviewing your log files. You can find more details at Troubleshoot install using logs | Elements - http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop-elements/kb/troubleshoot-install-using-logs-elements.html.
