Photoshop file exports multiple paths to illustrator

I'm brand new to illustrator but have noticed than when i place a Photoshop tiff file, it sometimes imports multiple paths with the image -- some of which
do not show up in photoshop.   For instance, I have a file with two objects with paths, I crop to one image in photoshop, then save.  When I import that single image cropped file to illustrator, FOUR paths show up instead of one -- i.e. I have the two paths of the original photoshop image plus duplicates of the same, all in the same file.   I've noticed this happens on all my files that originally had multiple images even though they had been cropped to just a single image.
Anyone know how to fix this, or better yet, what the heck is going on?

We did not get your screenshot, use the camera icon left of the smiley face.
Did you try Milleniums suggestions, you may have cropped this adn have a clipping path that is off the canvas taht you are not seeing.
To flush this out, I would select the good  path you have in photoshop, cut this, delete all paths in your phothsop document, then paste the path in your clipboard, name it, set it to your clipping path.
I personally never use clipping paths for final, as they make my knockouts look unnatural, and too hard edged. I mask my layers(in a grouped set), cause then I am getting my background knockout out at 300 dpi (bitmapped CT resolution), rather than a razor sharp 3386 dpi(LW resolution).  You may be working on a web project so this may not affect you as much, but just wanted to note this finer point as many people nowadays never worked on a Scitex/Crossfield/Hell so don't realize this is what is happening.

  • Export multiple paths to illustrator

    Photoshop CS5
Is there really no way to export multiple paths, on multiple vector layers, to Illustrator in one go?

What did you do to get that option to be available? I don't see it. All I see, in the "Export paths to file" dialogue is the path I currently have selected. But I have many vector layers I want in Illustrator (which I've already one by one copy/pasted into Illustrator, but I still want to know).

Do you really think somebody could help when you use an special Apple script with a third-party application on ML? Nobody knows whats in this script nor what Photoshop version you are using. Ask this in an Adobe forum.

    I am doing system export.
as per the system copy guide I follows all steps.
when I tried for export preparation.
I got following error in  "/tmp/sapinst_instdir/ERPEhP4/LM/COPY/DB6/EXP/CENTRAL/AS-ABAP/PREEXP/R3ldctlExport.log"
ERROR: failed to open file "/db2/PRD/sapdata4/export_prd/ABAP/DATA/SAPSTR.LST"
    /db2/PRD/sapdata4/export_prd is my export directory.
but I found that the "SAPSTR.LST" is not exist in the location.
also I don't find any log regarding this error.
how to resolve this? please guide.

    Hi Rupesh,
In continuation of previous mail, there is keyboard problem hence spelling mistakes.
    Various possible solutions:
Report SMIGR_CREATE_DDL has to be executed before starting export preparation.
    OR
Download llatest kernel patch and apply them in /spmnt/<SID>/exe
make sure download latest patch R3ldctl file and R3load from SAP Marketplace and apply them in to /sapmnt/<SID>/exe.
Make sure export dump folder should be in local drives (in windows) or local filesystems i.e.do not  use network drives  (windows) or NFS (in case of unix).
FInally check permission by using chmod 777 in exportdump folder in case of unix.

  • Acrobat X Pro - Export multiple PDFs to JPG

In Acrobat 9 Pro I am able to export multiple pdfs to jpg using file--->export multiple....   In Acrobat X I can't seem to find this funtionality.  Any ideas?
    Thanks.

I tried this script and it did work but I needed to export to PNG rather than JPG. I could not see a way to do that without actual scripting, which I don't know how to do. So I opened the script linked here in Textpad and just changed "jpg" to "png" and it worked - happy day for me! If anyone would like to download this action, you can find it here: http://ccl.rutgers.edu/~lindaeve/acrobatx/Export_to_PNG.sequ

  • From 1.5 to 2.1 - file path resets when exporting multiple ddl files

    Situation:
I regularly export data using the following steps - right click table name->export data->insert
I am then prompted for the file path and file name. I type the path and script name, save and then move on to the next table.
In 1.5, when I was prompted for the file path and name, the last path entered automatically populated along with the file name (equal to the current table name).
However, after migrating to 2.1 and importing the settings from 1.5, the behaviour changes. Instead of filling in the prior path, the prompt always resets and provides the default windows session directory. Since I export multiple tables to the same directory on a regular basis, this becomes problematic. I have a work-around that involves cutting / pasting the path each time but I'm looking to streamline where I can.
I suspect I merely need to set the correct preference value somewhere. Does anyone know what that preference setting would be? Again, the goal is for the file path prompt to fill in the value of the last path entered when I exported the previous table during a mullti table data export.
    Thanks in advance....

I'd rather say that's a lost feature (no preference, sorry). Probably an accident, but might be by design. Anyway, makes sense to put it back.

  • Converting a Photoshop file to illustrator

I have this photoshop file made up of imagery I would like to convert to an illustrator. When I export to illustrator paths and open it in illustrator I get this empty box.  Can you tell me how to convert the imagery from photoshop to line art in illustrator format?

Sounds like you don't have any paths in your file.
Place the photoshop file in Illustrator and trace the artwork.

  • Cannot export path to illustrator

I am using CS3 and am trying to export a path to an illustrator file.  I started with an 8bit black and white image and made a path from a selection. When I go to File > Export the export option is greyed out and not selectable.  Any ideas on how I can open this option?  I have tried to use Save as to save the file as a .psd prior to export but the only options it gives me is a .tiff and a .raw.

At least for me in cs3, the export menu or the export paths to illustrator option
is never greyed out (when an image is open), even when there aren't any paths in the image.
So your problem is probably something else. Did you try resetting the photoshop
    cs3 preferences?
This is what i get when using export paths to illustrator on an image that doesn't have any paths.

  • Is it possible to use certutil to export multiple certificates from a local client machine store, to a .p7b file?

Is it possible to use certutil to export multiple certificates from a local client machine store, to a .p7b file?
Scenario: We have a few legacy certificates based on some legacy templates (2012 R2). Some belong to an old SubCA (2008 R2).
I’ve can manually export them using certmgr mmc on the local machine to a single .p7b e.g.
cert_backupNEW.p7b. But this is not a practical solution for me and I want to achieve this remotely via certutil or some other util that comes with Windows 7 machines.
I’ve already worked out how to run a certutil command to add the certs back into the store e.g.
    certutil.exe -addstore -f my cert_backupNEW.p7b
Is there a way to export multiple certs to a single backup cert, or is what I’m trying to do not possible with multiple certs?
    TC

    Something like this:
    $store = New-Object Security.Cryptography.X509Certificates.X509Store "my","localmachine"
    $store.Open("ReadOnly")
    Set-Content -Path exportedcerts.pfx -Value $store.Certificates.Export("pfx","password")
    $store.Close()
note that this command will fail, if there are certificates with non-exportable keys. You cannot export certificates with non-exportable keys.

  • Color error message when opening a photoshop file in Illustrator

I have a photo of the airport, with blue sky etc.  I would like to make it all one color as a background image.  I want the background of the photo to be light orange wit the building to be darker orange.  Is there a way to do that in Illustrator?  To try out different colors foreground and background or do I have to do it in Photoshop?  How do I fill all the colors in the photo to just the two colors?  This photo is untouched.
I also have a photo that has photoshop effects.  When I open it in Illustrator I get an error message.  It says "the document's embedded color profile does not match the current CMYK working space.  The current CMYK color management policy is to discard profiels that do not match the working space.
I have the start of a web page in my working space.  With this photo I think I am opening it in a separate page but it won't let me.  I probably will use the untouched photo but I'm curious why its giving me the message.  My workspace should be in RGB web safe colors.  Is that why it won't let me open the CMYK photoshop file?   I guess it has non-web safe colors but my thought was to change it to all web safe colors but maybe that is way too hard in Illustrator?
    thankx,

You can color a grayscale tiff in Illustrator by simply selecting it then selecting a color you want.
I would think if these are two spot colors and you really want two different oranges you would want to clip the building either in
Photoshop or Illustrator and place it on top of one another.
I would normally say do a duo tone but that would mix the two colors.
So this is how i would go about it in Illustrator
    1. Import the image as a grayscale tiff or import it and convert it to a grayscale by going to Edit>Edit Colors>Convert to Grayscale
    2. then select the background color.
    3. then copy the image and paste in front Command C and then Command F and select the darker orange color
    4. with the pen tool create an a path that is the shape of the building exactly. Make sure it is a closed path.
    5. then select the path and the top image the one you paste in front.
    6. then go to Object>Clipping Path>Make
7 I would then group the two
with this method you have to good with the pen tool, but that is true of Illustrator in general.
now with the CMYK image it is allowing you to place it but is simply warning you of the conversion taking place.
What you should do is select in your Photoshop and Illustrator color settings to sRGB since this is probably the space you want.
and convert the CMYK into a RGB file which is what you should have done in the first place.
So open it i Photoshop convert to sRGB and  replace it in Illustrator.
    All should be fine.

  • Best file for importing images from Illustrator and Photoshop for small file sizes

    Hello Adode consults!
I'm in the process of preparing an inDesign file for a school project -- I've already had a few harrowing experiences sending large files to the printer that are too large to process (and a very grumpy computer, etc). The end result will be a poster around 36 inches by 4 or 5 feet.
I'm wondering if there are any best practices for making sure that the files imported into InDesign are a manageable size to begin with. Should I, for instance, be saving each file as a jpeg before placing in Indesign?
    Thanks!
    -Katherine

No, you should not save every file as JPG before placing it in INDesign. JPG is only usefull for raster images (like photos) without any transparency in high quality.
    When you place images use:
For raster images from Photoshop psd (rgb with color profile)
For raster images from Photoshop with form layers, texts or any vector element use PDF (or PDP) with layers.
For vector graphics from Illustrator use AI files or PDF.
For layouts from other InDesign projects use either the INDD itsself or export a PDF/X4.
But to the printer deliver a PDF according to their standards. E.g. when they need CMYK files export as PDF/X1a with the required output color space and the resolution they want. Produce the pdf via Export (Print).
Don't deliver open INDD. File size should for printing projects not be an issue.

  • Error pasting paths from Illustrator or Photoshop

Hi, I am expetimenting trouble when copying and pasting any path from illustrator or photoshop to Indesign. It says :''Illustrator import failed. Scrap Containes no visible objects". I have tried all the thing you have suggested previously. This is happening in both indesign CS6 and CC (it does not even paste paths that were created in  indesign C6 to indesign CC). Have you found a solution for this already?, Thanks.

  • Export as a Photoshop file, write layers unavailable

    Hello all,
I am new on this board, I did some research and couldn't find an answer to my problem. I hope you'll be able to help me !
I am used to work and design my projects with Illustrator CS4 and then to click on File >> Export >> Photoshop file >> Check the Write Layers options >> OK.
I don't know what I did with one of my file, but suddenly I can't check the option "Write Layers" whereas it worked fine few days ago...
I tried with other files I have and it works fine... but not with this new one...
Do you have any idea of what I did?
This file has 66 layers, and there are no nested groups (I read online that it could be the problem but it's not)...
I tried to remove all the layers except one and I still have this problem, I can only export it as a flat image...
Thanks for your help! I really need to export it as a photoshop file with layers.
    Laurent

I double check and my document is RGB and I want to export to RGB, so this is not the issue.
I really don't know what it could be
I attached an illustrator file I created using the one I am having a problem with. This is just an ellipse and a rectangle. I can't export it to a Photoshop file with the Write Layers option checked... any idea?

  • Can photoshop 9 change multiple tif files to jpeg

I have muliple files saved in .tif and need to change them to jpeg. Is there a way using photoshop 9 to change multiple files from .tiff to .jpeg so they can be uploaded to a website? If so what are the steps to change the extensions?
    Thanks in advance

Sure. If you're using the windows organizer, just select the photos there and go to File>Export and you'll see what to do. Medium is usually a good enough quality for the web.
If you don't use organizer or you're on a mac, go to Editor>File>Process Multiple Files and point to the folder where your originals are. (If you have photos in both portrait and landscape orientation, you'll need to split them into two groups.)
However having said all that, save for web in the editor makes the smallest files (it removes the EXIF information), but you can only do one at a time that way.
