Photoshop for CS5 dreamweaver
Hi there, I am currently learning C5 Dreamweaver and now I see in the course that need photoshop. What would be the cheapest way to get photoshop so I can finish the course ? Do I really need to get a (student) membership for CC or are there also some "ready to go" softwarepacks available ? Does anybody have experience with this ?

Dear Jon,
Thank you for your reply and information. I am paying for the course Dreamweaver CS5.Is dreamweaver CC the same as Dreamweaver CS6 ? And do I state it correctly if I say that with the student membership I have access to dreamweaver CC and also Photoshop CC ? Are there any more programs I can use if I subscribe to the creative cloud ?
No, they are definitely not the same, there have been several releases with many updates/changes since DWCS5. I honestly would not pay to be taught a program that is that far removed from current...
DWCS5
DWCS5.5
DWCS6 Disk
DWCS6 Cloud
DWCC
With a subscription to the Creative Cloud, you have access to all of the same programs as the full subscription (something around 36 programs including DW, PS, AI, Premiere and a lot more): http://www.adobe.com/products/creativecloud/buying-guide-education.html

Will a Serial Number for Photoshop CS5 Work for CS5 Extended?
Hello,
I've recently subscribed to Photoshop CS5 and Dreamweaver CS5.5. In my Order History, it says 'Photoshop CS5', not 'Photoshop CS5 Extended'. However the download links in my Order History does not work (yes, I do have Adobe Download Assistant--in fact, I used it to download Dreamweaver CS5.5 without any problems).
So, I decided to download the trial version instead and enter my serial number that way. However, the problem is that I see Photoshop CS5 on Adobe's Products page, yet when I click on it, it leads me to Photoshop CS5 Extended.
I don't want to waste my time downloading CS5 Extended, only to find out that my serial number for CS5 does not work on it. So my question is: Will a Serial Number for Photoshop CS5 work for Photoshop CS5 Extended?
Thank you for your time!

For anyone else having the same problem: I contacted Adobe via phone, and they said that a serial number for Photoshop CS5 will work with Photoshop CS5 Extended. -

Why there is no universal plan of a subscription for Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Dreamweaver, Acrobat Pro - the most running apes?

Upgrade CS5 Photoshop for windows to CS6 Mac
I own the Adobe Creative Suite 5 - Design Premium for windows. I now have a mac and run it on a virtual machine. I want to be able to seemlessly move between lightroom 5 and Photoshop. Before the below questions is this possible because my lighroom always shows it greyed out.
So assuming my Mac Lightroom 5 can't read my virtual Photoshop on windows, I want to upgrade/buy CS6 Photoshop. I am fine with having illustrator and InDesign in my virtual world. So questions:
1. Can I get Photoshop CS5 for Mac as my second application of the program?
2. If no, can I upgrade my version of Photoshop 5 to 6 for the cross platform?
3. If no, can I upgrade my suite to mac from windows?
4. If yes, can I then upgrade my version?
I do not want to have photoshop cc, so please answer about having the downloaded product for CS5 or CS6 only.Yes. Read: Order an Adobe product platform swap or language swap. It essentially means you buy a normal upgrade, but need to handle it through Adobe directly to exchange serial numbers.

Today's wild goose chase is the extension that restored the deprecated validator into CS5.
I'm trying to re-install the validator extension for CS5, but the link (http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/exchange/index.cfm?event=extensionDetail&loc=en_us&extid=2188 524) just redirects to https://creative.adobe.com/addons, which no longer seems to offer any way to get to older extensions.
Oddly, I can't seem to find the original package (I assume it was an mxp or zxp) on the computer where I already have the extension installed. Maybe it's got a different filename and is eluding my search, or maybe it just went into a temp folder I've long since emptied.
I know that the Dreamweaver/Downloaded Extensions folder in Windows would contain the downloaded install file, but this is a Mac and I haven't been able to find out what the equivalent directory here is.
I'd pack up the installed extension and copy that to the other computer if I knew how to do that, but I don't even know the filenames or locations involved in this extension.
My employer isn't going to update my copy of Dreamweaver, so getting a current editor isn't an option.
Blah, what a mess. Does anyone know where I can get my hands on an install file for this ancient extension? (Or have any other thoughts on how I can track it down?)
Thanks!
AlI don't think that extension exists anymore b/c DW ultimately put their built-in validation feature back in to CS6. And CS5 is no longer supported.
Why don't you just use W3C's online validation service which is much better than the DW feature?
CSS - http://jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator/
HTML - http://validator.w3.org/
If you have Firefox's Web Developer Toolbar Add-on, among many other things it allows you to run a W3C validation on your local files directly from Firefox's Tools Menu. See screenshot.

Upgrade to CS4 web premium . . . or wait for CS5 ?
The question I have for anyone who may have some insight: Is there anything groundbreaking in the works for Dreamweaver, Photoshop or Illustrator in CS5 which is due to be released in about 6 months ?
We have CS3 Web Standard, and now want to upgrade to Web Premium so we can get Photoshop and Illustrator which we now need, but with some pain could probably find a way to hold off for another 6 months .... if it was worth the wait that is. We don't necessarily need (and can't afford) the latest Software version all the time, but has there been any discussion about Improvements or New Features in the next release that's going to make us regret not waiting .......... ?
* We are a small home business, but don't want to miss out on any major changes if you know what I mean . . .I wouldn't expect anything groundbreaking from one version to the next. It sometimes comes down to maximizing your operating system to take advantage of speed boosts in both the OP and CS applications. Your existing CS3 system may not be compatable with the requirements of CS5 whatever they may be, or not. It's hard to say. If you are planning on getting new hardware ( sounds like you are not ), then you may want to wait. If you plan on using your existing hardware, you may be able to upgrade to CS4. But from the sounds of it, CS3 and Tiger is a pretty good combination and you will be able to get away with using that for awhile. There have been significant fixes from CS2 to CS4, where CS3 had it's problems in Illustrator ( not sure about PS ). Adobe sometimes throws a bone out to people who buy CS4 and get a break when they ante up for CS5, just be aware of the system requirements.

We want to install the screenshot updates for CS5 Design Premium. Unfortunately, the first one we tried, AdobeBridge, asked for ApplicationManager, and when we tried to run that, it told us to run SupportAdvisor, which no longer exists.
Why is this happening, and how can we resolve it? We have Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit, and our current CS5 components are:

Raw updates needed for CS5 and Elements 11?
I have several adobe products. I want to install the latest raw updates for CS5 Photoshop and Elements 11. The app. manager tells me I have the latest updates. My CS6 product updated the newest raw product but not my others. I would like to get phone support for these issues - is there a phone number that connects to real people? The %^*()^ support section on the web takes me around in circles - very frustrating. Any help out there?
the good old argument is at what point do you stop supporting stuff? Elements is now up to 13.
I assume Adobe would argue you have cc already why are you still using cs5?
As I read it, the new 8.7 raw is only good for cs6 and above. They won't make 2 versions of raw, so I assume you are still on 7.4 for cs5?
On that basis, alas stick with your cs6 to do the newer stuff you need.
that all said, a bit of manual tweaking seems to work for some people. - Camera Raw 8.1 and PSE 11 - Elements Village -
I'm relatively new to Photoshop, and I'm planning of buying it for my home PC in the next few months, but I was wondering if it would be better to wait for CS5 since I read it was coming "Mid 2010". Thanks in advance!
You beat me to the punch! I was going to add your "leaked" info.
Still, Adobe has historically given a "grace period" to buyers of previous versions, usually within 30 days of release. Who knows here? Should be the same, or very similar.
Now, will PS (and the other common suite programs) be on pre-sale upon release, or later? Will the release be THAT much later? When will the "grace period" kick in?
Even with an unveiling date, there will still be questions.
Hunt
PS - some folk, with very recent Flash versions have ended up with Adobe Media Encoder (AME) CS5! Do not know what that is about, but I find it interesting. -
I recently purchased a Canon 7D. I own Adobe Photoshop/Bridge CS5. I cannot open my raw images in Bridge. I have tried to download the plug in but does not seem to work. Please Help, I need to be able to open my raw images in Bridge ASAP. I do not want to upgrade to CS6 at this time.
If you had given us sensible information, I could look it up for you if your efforts fail.
Right now, I don't even know if you are on a Mac or on a Windows box.
BOILERPLATE TEXT:
If you give complete and detailed information about your setup and the issue at hand, such as your platform (Mac or Win), exact versions of your OS, of Photoshop and of Bridge, machine specs, what troubleshooting steps you have taken so far, what error message(s) you receive, if having issues opening raw files also the exact camera make and model that generated them, etc., someone may be able to help you.

Camera Raw update for CS5 Extended
I am looking for a Camera Raw update for CS5 Extended. I currently have CR 6.7.0.339. IS there something newer for me to use with CS5 Extended, Ver. 12.1x64?
Camera Raw 6.7 is the latest version that's compatible with Photoshop CS5. There's nothing newer for CS5.
http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/camera-raw-compatible-applications.html
If you need Camera Raw 7+ for your camera, you'll have to upgrade to Photoshop CS6.
Which camera do you have?
Supported cameras and minimum Camera Raw version required are listed here:
