Photoshop freezes when I click the Text tool.

Every time I try to use the text tool it freezes and I have to force quit.
Any suggestions on how to get the bug out? I've uninstalled and reinstalled, that didn't seem to help.

What else are you observing-
1.Is the application crashing on using Type tool?
2.Please share the snapshot of any particular setup if you are in or it is freezing just on first usage?
3.Did you try by clearing the application preferences?
4.Did you try by using 'Reset Tool' option?

There's a conflict somewhere. I would start by deleting the Preferences file for this copy of Flash and

Select the Text Tool
Then right click on its' icon in the Option bar.
Select "Reset Tool" from the pop-up menu.

Why doesn't my cursor change when I click the selection tool?

When I open any file, the object -- in this case, an image -- is already selected.
I want to enlarge the image so I click the buttons to do that. Normally I would pick 125% or 150%, but the dropdown menu does not open. I tried clicking the up arrow/down arrow buttons. Nothing happened. I tried double-clicking on the numbers to type a percentage; tiny blue horizontal bars appear on either side of the default "100" as if the machine is trying to highlight the number, but can't.
I click the Text tool, get the I-beam, and can click in a text box.
After all that, I click the selection tool. Nothing happens. My cursor is an I-beam. I cannot change it to anything else.
I have installed and uninstalled InDesign several times in an effort to correct this and related problems.
Installed from media -- original disks -- encountered problem -- uninstalled & reinstalled -- problem not solved.
Downloaded installation files from Adobe. Same result.
Uninstalled & reinstalled InDesign only. Still no go.
Reimaged computer back to factory settings, created desktop installation point for CS4, installed CS4 from there. Still no go.
Is it possible that there is some kind of incompatibility between CS4 and my computer? It is a new (one week old) Acer Travelmate laptop. Got it from TigerDirect, a trustworthy merchant.
My OS is Windows 7, but this shouldn't be a problem; CS4 runs fine with Windows 7 on another computer in my house (which, unfortunately, is occupied most of the time, or I would use that).
Any ideas at all?
Please help. I have a project deadline coming up and really need this particular computer to work.

I would give you money if I had money.... The next best thing I can think of to offer thanks is give you a great recipe:
1 pizza crust of your choice
olive oil
8 oz of goat cheese (more or less to suit your taste)
1 medium tomato
6 large cloves of fresh garlic
4-6 oz of sliced black olives (more or less to suit your taste)
fresh or dried basil
For best results, all ingredients should be organic or at least of highest quality available
Oven 350
Pre-heat the oven to 350 (important to do this). Dice the tomato to 1/4-inch bits and dice the garlic to 1/8-bits or as near as you can. Slice the black olives if necessary. Brush the pizza crust with olive oil. Blind bake it for 3 minutes or until two rooms smell really nice.
Spread on the goat cheese. Sprinkle on the basil, tomato, olives and garlic as evenly as you can.
Bake the pie for 15 minutes and check it for doneness to your liking (crispy or not).
Serve with salad and a cold white wine for a nice dinner for two, or cut into 2" squares for appetizers at a party.

Photoshop crashes when I use the marquis tool.

Photoshop crashes when I use the marquee tool. As soon as I make a selection it crashes my computer (every time!) by either rendering the screen black or sometimes all white. I have to force shut down and restart. I'm using MacBook Pro OS 10.6.8 with Photoshop CS6. I am not in a position to update OS at this time. Is there anything I can do to work around this problem? It's extremely time-consuming and infuriating.

That is not an application crash - that is a kernel panic, which means there is a hardware defect, a bug in the OS or a bug in a low level driver (like parts of the video driver). Kernel panics are not caused by applications, but by defective hardware or bugs in the OS and drivers.
Resetting prefs may avoid the settings that triggered the crash - but the cause remains in the hardware, OS, or driver code.
Since Apple is not going to update the drivers in 10.6.8, your best bet is to update the OS when you can, and hope the new drivers are in better shape. Unfortunately, it is also possible that you just have a bad GPU or video RAM - and fixing that would require replacing the video card or system (in the case of laptops or all-in-one machines).

Check the Preferences settings in iPhoto. You may have set iDVD as external editor.
Set "Preferences > Advanced > Edit Photos" to "In iPhoto".

Relax. That's a non-printing guide. If you ever want it to print, go to the Graphic Inspector and choose Stroke > Line. You can then adjust the interior space in the Text Inspector > Text > Inset Margin.

I Have the PS CC 2014 installed in my Win7. I have a problem with the TEXT TOOL,when I select the tool and type something in there,the text is very tiny eventhough the size is 72. Do you see this behaviour on a new Photoshop document?
Try creating a New document:
File > New.
From the Preset menu, choose U.S. Paper (just so we can test what's happening).
Take note of the Width, Height and Resolution of the document you are creating.
Select the Type tool, and ensure the font size is set in pt (points), set to 72 pt.
Click anywhere in the canvas, and start typing.
Do you still see the problem? If it's disappeared, then check the problem document settings:
Image > Image Size, what's the resolution and physical width and height of the file?
Hopefully this will help you discover what's happening to your document.

Motion 5 - Keeps crashing when i use the text tool

Just installed the Motion 5. Crashes wheni use the text tool for no reason. the project browser doesn't load too. What happened to apple products? They used to be good.

I had the same issue and what solved it for me was to clean up the fonts.
I moved all my fonts from /Users/me/Library/Fonts to /Library/Fonts ....
that did it for me ... plus it renders the typefaces correctly when you open projects later.

Audition sometimes freezes when I click the open icon in the files pane

I am using Audition CS5.5 under Windows 7 64-bit. I am finding that quite frequently, when I click the "open file" icon in the top left of the files pane, Audition simply freezes -- I don't get an error message; the application is shown to be running as normal in Windows Task Manager, and doesn't have suspiciously high RAM or CPU usage. It just won't do anything further. I have to close it via Task Manager.
I don't have any other files open at the time, but so far this has tended to happen immediately after doing batch processing.
However I haven't been able to identify specific steps to reproduce the issue 100%.
Has anyone else experienced this?

It's very difficult to deal with freeze issues - we really don't have enough info to go on. What you should do is to read this FAQ carefully, and do exactly as it says.
