Photoshop freezes when I try to upload pics

Photoshop won't let me upload pics off my camera. It was in the past (like even 2 days ago) but now it freezes to the point of having ot crtl alt del my way out of the program. i can edit photos already on my system but i can't get the new ones. I've even tried different USB cords even though my computer recognizes that my device is plugged in and that didn't help.
grrr....what do I do?

I live in the Mac world, so I'd say that there really are three possibilities:
1.  Photoshop is causing the problem; or
2.  Your camera is causing the problem; or
3.  God is punishing you for using a Windows computer.
When Photoshop crashes, can you download these pictures using another utility or application?  If so, it would seem to indicate that the camera is ok, and the cable, the computer, and the Windows operating system are ok.  That would narrow the problem area down to Photoshop.

  • Safari & FireFox  freeze when I try to upload a file from my hard drive.

Safari & FireFox freeze when I try to upload a file from my hard drive. This just started happening in the past couple of days. I haven't installed any software, or made any updates (that I can remember.) When the browser freezes I can't "force quit" them. I have to manually shut the computer down are restart it. I would appreciate any help you can provide.

HI and welcome to Apple Discussions...
Safari and Firefox box.... it could be a problem with the hard drive itself, not your browsers.
Just to make sure, boot from your install disc, run Disk Utility to Verify and if necessary, Repair any errors Disk Utility reports.
Insert your install disk and Restart, holding down the "C" key until grey Apple appears.
Go to Installer menu and launch Disk Utility.
(In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first from the installer menu)
Select your HDD (manufacturer ID) in the left panel.
Select First Aid in the Main panel.
(Check S.M.A.R.T Status of HDD at the bottom of right panel. It should say: Verified)
Click Repair Disk on the bottom right.
If DU reports disk does not need repairs quit DU and restart.
If DU reports errors Repair again and again until DU reports disk is repaired.
When you are finished with DU, from the Menu Bar, select Utilities/Startup Manager.
Select your start up disk and click Restart
While you have the Disk Utility window open, look at the bottom of the window. Where you see Capacity and Available. *Make sure there is always 10% to 15% free disk space*

  • I'm using iphoto version 8.1.2., when I try to upload pics to another web site my pics aren't showing up.  What could be the problem?

I'm using iphoto 8.1.2..  When I try to upload pics to another web site the pics aren't showing up.  There is nothing there to choose from.  What could be the problem?

We'll need as full a description of the problem as you can. For instance: 'iPhoto won't export' is best explained by describing how you are trying to export, and so on. So, step-by-step how do you go about this uploading?

  • My macbook freezes when l try to upload photos

my macbook freezies when i try to upload photos to a web site.

When someone complains that their music upload stalls I immediately think of three problems:
    1) corrupt song(s)
    2) bad cable
    3) bad hard drive
The list is actually in reverse order of my expectations. Since you were able to format the drive it obviously hasn't suffered a hard crash but there might be a very large number of bad sectors. Go here to see how to put the iPod into diagnostic mode so you can further check the drive.
If the drive passes muster borrow another cable. And finally, create a playlist and verify that each song is good by playing it. See if it will sync. If it does, add more songs (verified good). Keep repeating.

  • Two questions: First, the homepage button on my browswer has stopped working. Once clicked, nothing happens. Second, when I try to upload pics to blogger, it says "Server Error".

The homepage button has stopped on both my desktop and netbook browser, as about about a week ago. Once clicked, nothing happens. Yet all other browser buttons are working fine. Second, when I try to upload pics to blogger, it says "Server Error".
The server error message on blogger happened about the same time, and although there have been rare occasions where it worked, but mostly it doesn't. I've tried a couple of times every day, and it's only worked twice. But I am able to do it on other browsers, leading me to believe it's a firefox problem. (For the record, blogger seems to have recently updated their pic upload feature).

This usually happens if Spotlight is disabled on a drive. When you tried MacPilot, did it have an option to disable Spotlight? I haven't used the app, so don't know whether that is the case or not, but if it did and you inadvertantly, or even deliberately, disabled Spotlight then the Finder won't display anything but the most basic information about a file--thus you won't see dimensions or Last Opened, just size and dates created and modified.

  • My Browser's  Freeze when I try to upload a file

I am using Yosemite and when I try to upload a file using either safari, chrome or firefox I get the beachball and my browser just gets stuck. I have try different type of websites and the browser reacts the same. As soon as I click the link on the site to upload it starts beach balling.
    Thanks

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad and start typing the name.
The title of the Console window should be All Messages. If it isn't, select
SYSTEM LOG QUERIES ▹ All Messages
from the log list on the left. If you don't see that list, select
              View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar at the top of the screen.
Click the Clear Display icon in the toolbar. Then take an action that isn't working the way you expect. Select any messages that appear in the Console window. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message by pressing command-V.
The log contains a vast amount of information, almost all of which is irrelevant to solving any particular problem. When posting a log extract, be selective. A few dozen lines are almost always more than enough.
Please don't indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
Please don't post screenshots of log messages—post the text.
Some private information, such as your name or email address, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting.

  • IPhoto crashes or freezes when I try to upload my album on Facebook

As said in the title, it's a couple of months that it's impossible for me to upload my album on Facebook. The application crashes or freezes without ending the upload process. My OS is 10.7.5 Lion, 2,2 Ghz Intel Core i7, 4GB 1333 MHz DDR3. iPhoto 11, 9.4.2. I already tried deleting the preferences files .plist, deleting my Facebook account (in iPhoto), uninstalling and re-installing iPhoto but nothing to do. I don't think it could be an account problem, because on my brother's Mac i can upload albums with my Facebook account and its iPhoto. Someone can help me?

    iPhoto -> Preferences -> Accounts

  • Why is my Photoshop Elements 5.0 freezing everytime I try to download pics?

Why is my Photoshop Elements 5.0 freezing everytime I try to download pics from card?

Thanks for your response. When it comes to computers, I am almost
illiterate. I have a HP Pavillion PC and have used Photoshop Elements 5.0
for a number of years. Computer crashed couple of weeks ago and I sent it
back to HP. They returned it with new guts I think. Had to reinstall my
programs and use my external backup to get all the stuff back, including
about 11,000 pics.  Now, every time I try to put the SD card in to download
the pics to the Organizer, it downloads about 4 or 5 pics and freezes.
Have to use task manager to get PC going again.  Been doing the same thing
for years and this just happened since I got new PC back. Is that any help?
    'preciate your response.

  • When i try to upload photos for various things my computer freezes

when i'm in facebook i've tried to upload photos on to my business page but as soon as i select iphoto the whole of safari freezes.  i can' use other areas of my computer just not the internet.  also i'm trying to order a printed canvas online and when i try to upload from the website the same thing happens.
i can be in iphoto and "share" the pics to facebook but not the other way round.

That toolbar/ct plugin seems to cause problems for all who install it!
If you are running Tiger or Leopard:
Close Safari, then locate and delete the following files and it should be gone:
    /Library/Application Support/Conduit
    /Library/InputManagers/CTLoader
    /Library/Receipts/ctloader.pkg
    /Library/Receipts/<Toolbar name>.pkg
    /Library/Application Support/SIMBL/Plugins/CT2285220.bundle
    /Users/<User name>/Library/Application Support/Conduit
where / is the root library on your Hard Disk.
If you are running Snow Leopard you should also look here:
    Library/launchAgents/com.conduit.loader.agent.plist
    Library/Application support/conduit plugins
    Also, as mentioned by Gilli2000:
Library/Receipts - If you read it, it has information in it at the bottom referring extensively to "CT" and "community toolbar".
Maybe it is harmless, but trash those items anyway!
    If you are running Lion:
From the Finder Menu bar, select Go ▹ Go to Folder, and in the box that opens write:
    ~/Library/Application Support/Conduit
Delete the second item if it is there.
Now select Go to Folder again and enter  /Library
From the folder that opens, delete the following items if they are there (you may need your login password):
    Application Support/Conduit
    InputManagers/CTLoader
    LaunchAgents/com.conduit.loader.agent.plist
    ScriptingAdditions/ct_scripting.osax
then close the folder. Now select Go to Folder again and write: /Applications/Toolbars
Delete that item and close the Finder windows you opened. Log out then log back in, and you should be rid of it.
Note: Safari does not support any third-party toolbars except those supplied as an extension to Safari via the Extension Gallery.

What version of OS X are you using? If Yosemite, you need to update to 10.10.1 or higher.
In any case, start by going to the editor preferences>general, clicking this button and restarting the editor:

Photoshop CS5 keeps crashing when I try to upload file.  Any suggestions?

Possibly not as pertinent with a MacBook than with a Windows system...  Drivers normally come through Apple for Macs.
Likely Chris missed that you mentioned you're running OSX, Stephen, and this is the Windows-specific forum.  You might want to ask on the Macintosh-specific forum...   http://forums.adobe.com/community/photoshop/photoshop_macintosh

Thank you for responding.  Nothing actually worked!  After reading the posts online, I called Apple.  They indicated they have seen problems with some software after their upgrades.  The technician was able to fix the problem on my computer remotely, but I have no clue what he did!  But, it was definitely related to their recent upgrade to my computer.

  • "OS6 freezes when u try to view your messenger's contact's profile pics"

Guys have u also noticed that d 6.0os on a 9700 freezes when u try to view your messenger's contact's profile pics?? It jst hangs and its really disturbing.. Any other person with that issue?? Pls help

    Hello,
I think you can try two things : the soft reboot, and if it does not work, the hard reboot. Don't worry, you can't lose data with these two reboots.
    Soft reboot :
    1) Hit the three following keys at the same time :
    - Alt
    - Right Shift
    - Delete
    2) wait 2 minutes for the Blackberry to wake up.
    Hard reboot :
    1) your Blackberry device is on
    2) remove the battery and wait for a minute
    3) Put the battery back
    4) wait 5 minutes for the device to wake up.
Please tell us if it works for you.

  • App hangs when I try to upload pix from my camera

I have iPhoto 11 on a MacBook Pro, vintage 2006, running OS 10.6.8.   Launch is OK but the dreaded rotating rainbow appears when I try to upload photos from my camera.  I can see them all with Preview so I know they are on the camera.  I have reinstalled iPhoto, successfully, from the iLife disk and the problem remains.  I have checked the hard disk with Disk Utility and had it repair the permissions.  No change.  Suggestions?

    As a Test:
Hold down the option (or alt) key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Create Library'
Import a few pics into this new, blank library. Is the Problem repeated there?
    Post back with the result.

  • Why does iPad freeze when I try to publish a video to YouTube?

When I try to upload a video to youtube from my iPad, the screen freezes when I tap "publish." After several minutes, the YouTube dialog box finally disappears and the preview screen of the video appears with a "Publishing to YouTube" progress bar at the bottom. But the bar never advances and the video never gets published. Does anyone know how to fix? Never had a problem before upgrading to IOS 7.
Why did Apple screw up what was a perfectly easy way to upload videos?

First, try a reset: hold down the home button along with the power button until you see the Apple, then let go.
