Photoshop freezes when using Auto-Blend Layers - Stack Images
I used to have CS5 on my computer, after which I used the CS6 trial, and I never had any problems when stacking images using Auto-Blend Layers -> Stack Images. However, I recently purchased a subscription to Adobe Creative Cloud and after uninstalling the old PS versions and installing Cloud, Photoshop freezes every time I try to stack images.
My computer has very good specs, runs Windows 7, and both the OS and PS are up to date.
Why is PS freezing? What can I do to fix the problem?

Photoshop freezing when using brush tool
I just got an IMAC 27 inch 5K (coming from a Macbook Pro). Everything transferred fine but when I use PS CS6 for more than about 30 minutes, it keeps freezing when I'm using the brush tool. I can't do ANYTHING in PS when it happens, have to force quit and then re-open all the files thru ACR again into PS. I get another 30 minutes and then it happens again. HELP!!!!
Did you install MacOS 10.10?
And did you install the WhiteWindowWorkaround plugin to work around the known OS problems? -
Analog of Auto Align Layers and Auto Blend Layers?
In Photoshop you can use Auto Align Layers then Auto Blend Layers to select the region that is in focus from each layer. How can I do the same thing in PSE 9? Thanks.
No, you really can't do focus stacking in PSE without a third party plug-in of some sort. This thread is about PSE 8, but it applies to PSE 9 as well:

Eraser + Auto-Blend layers = problem
Hello,
I've been using "Auto-Blend layers" to edit faces in Photoshop. For example: putting Brad Pitt's face on Tom Cruise's face or something like that... However, I seem to have the exact same problem each time.
I use the following method:
Two layers (layer 1 = background = original person) + face of new person (layer 2 = cut out from different .psd with pen tool).
Align faces with eachother (try to match eyes/lips/nose)
Erase parts to make it fit better
Select pixels layer 2
Select "Inverse" layer 2
Select Modify -> Expand -> 6px layer 2
Select "Inverse" layer 2
Delete selected part on the layer 1 with background (layer 1 original face gets deleted)
Select both layers
Auto-Blend Layers
Result done
This entire method works fine, except for the eraser part. (Erase parts to make it fit better) When I use my eraser on the new face to erase some parts that overlap the original face or something, it always turns out bad after using Auto-Blend layers. You can see parts of the transparent background -> it doesn't fit properly. This only happens when I use the eraser. When I use the entire method without fixing some parts with the eraser, it works fine but this way the face doesn't fit 100% since certain details don't match.
Anyway, I wonder why the eraser messes up Auto-Blend layers. I even tried moving the new face (I used eraser on) to a new .psd with the same original person and Auto-Blend layers keeps having parts of the transparent background when the faces get auto-blended. How can I fix this?You probably would have to go into the mechanics of what the auto blend layer tool is doing. It is meant to stitch two images together such as a panarama. Your case is a little different and erasing may disturb the way the tool combines the underlying layers.

I am using the trial version of CC and cannot get the auto blend layers working despite following many videos on youtube etc. I have selected all layers but no matter which order I select etc all I get is an output of the first file in the stack - help!!

Is there an issue with Edit Auto-Blend Layers in Photoshop CC 2014?
The command Edit > Auto-Blend Layers in Photoshop CC 2014.1 does not seem to produce the expected results for me. For example, I used the Edit > Auto-Blend Layers command when I was doing the exercise on Adding Depth of Field starting on page 122 of the Photoshop CC 2014 CIB. The results: Instead of the foreground and background being both in focus, only the foreground was in focus. The background was out of focus. And, when I turned off visibility of the foreground layer, the background layer showed as transparent.

Since installing the latest update of Photoshop CC two days ago, Auto Blend for focus stacking is selecting all pixels from the bottom layer instead of selecting the ones in best focus from each layer. Has anyone else seen this problem? -
Can I Auto Blend layers in Photoshop Elements?
I have seen face-swapping tutorials online using the "auto-blend layers" tool In Photoshop CS6. Is there a way to do the same thing in elements?

However, that is assuming you already know the dimensions (99jon rightly describes setting the dimensions in advance) of the logo in advance, and you're going to use the logo you need for one specific use only. A logo you make in Photoshop Elements may not always remain clear and legible when you scale it up or down. I say that because logos will, generally, find their way into lots of places - letterheads, banners, T-shirt emblems, and other places. You might need different sizes for different needs.
You might want to use a vector graphics tool like Illustrator for logo design.
Phew! Okay - temporary fix - PSE 11 will work great! Permanent fix - for multiple designs and dimensions - you might need a different tool.

Photoshop hangs for nearly 15 seconds when using Layer > Group Layers or Layer Palette > Group from Layers commands. NOT on creating new group and creating layers and drag-n-dropping layers into group manually in Layer Palette. Got a UI design file with nearly 800 layers and lot of groups. This doesn't occur in smaller files. Using OS X Mavericks, Photoshop CC 2014.2.2, Mid 2014 15-inch Retina Macbook Pro.
I understand that the solution would be just to cut the file into smaller files and design each UI view in a separate file but that would be painful. And it does not seem to be a very hard task to just group layers.Does the document also have a lot of layer comps?
And can you post that document or send me a copy of it so we can see exactly why it is hanging? -
Photoshop CS6 freezes when using Liquify filter
Hi,
sorry for starting this topic again, but reading other discussions didn't help. THe problem is that Photoshop freezes when I use Liquify filter. It is enough just to open it and then click cancel - the Photoshop gets stucked immediately. I have never had such problem before, ran the whole Creative Suite 6 succesfully on my laptop, but after I reinstalled system using an old system image, it is not working properly.
I have Photoshop CS6, Windows 7 64 bit and I have Intel(R) HD Graphics 3000 integrated and NVIDIA GeForce GT540M external graphics cards. I am forcing the laptop to use NVIDIA only for everything, also I force Photoshop itself to start with NVIDIA GPU. Nothing helped.
Any suggestions?
Thanks for your help!Is it possible the old system image had an old video card driver or you are not running the latest CS6 update? I would first check to be certain you have all the latest CS6 and video card updates.

I have just updated to OSX10.10 Yosemite and now Elements freezes when using spot healing or clone stamp.
If you are using track pad, please use mouse and see if your issue is resolved.
Moreover, this issue has been resolved in PSE 13. You can give it atry as well.

Program error using Auto-blend in CS4
When I try to do a depth-of-field auto-blend with five or six layers (with or without auto-align first) Photoshop starts to do the blend and then stops with this error message:
Could not complete auto-blend layers command because of program error. OR Could not auto-blend the layers because of program error.
The NEF layers were created with my D300, and are 4288 by 2488 pixels. I also converted them to TIF and tried it that way. And I tried converting to 8 bit mode - also failed. If I change the image size to 1000 pixels it works. According to Photoshop Preferences I have 1675 MB available RAM, photoshop is allowed to use 1356 MB. According to my Control Panel I have 3.00 GB of RAM in Windows XP with Service Pack 3. Do you have suggestions, other than adding RAM, for making it work?when Photoshop starts acting up it's always a good idea to reset your preferences

Doing some focusstacking with 17 images and than CS6 beta stopped working:

where is the auto blend layers in elements 13? why don't i have a tool bar on the elements page?
That function doesn't exist in Elements, only Photoshop; however, some people have written plug-ins that will allow it so if you're seeing a tutorial maybe that's the situation.
Elements 13 does have several layer blending functions, so will any of those work for what you want to do?

I have CS5 and would like to try focus stacking. I File > Automate > Photomerge with a few photos. They have been aligned in layers. I would like to Auto Blend Layers but the function is gray and not accessible.

My copy of CS5 photoshop freezes when opening saved psds and currently I cant find my cd key for it (incase I need to reinstall) what should I do?

It was working 3 days ago fine and I have been using it since cs5 first came out. It will freeze on any psd now and Ive tried even with small psds under 20megabytes. I can create new psds but after saving them then attempting to reopen it will freeze.

I restored my macbook pro and updated to OSX 10.10.1, however i didn't get iMovie when i updated?
is there a way to get it back, without buying it from the app store?? i have a time capsule that has my back ups on it, and i have iMovie in those backups, but i can't access any of my old old backups using the time machine app. i have to it through
