Photoshop getting stuck attempting to update when at 12%

Last night I tried to update PhotoShop, and it got stuck at 12%. I cancelled the update, and now, hours later, it still tells me it's "finishing up." I'm locked out of all other updates. How do I fix this? (I'm a brand new Cloud user.)

I had to force the computer to shut down, but it did clear the message. Thank you for helping me to do that.
Now I can initiate an update for any program; however, they ALL fail. The message is that the updated information cannot be extracted. Why is this happening?

You might want to make sure that there are no open applications when you shut down, one of them may be hanging your Mac trying to shut down. Another thing to look for is to make sure that there are no print jobs that are not complete. Open the print and scan preference pane, double click your printer and see if any things hanging there.

Your WiFi/Bluetooth chip has failed.  Bring the phone (and $199 if outside the warranty period) to Apple for replaceement.

When I exit firefox it closes the program but it gets stuck in memory so when I open it again i have to kill the process in task manager, and it can be right away or I can come back a few hours later and its still stuck in task manager, I am tired of having to kill the processes every time I use firefox.

You may need to use '''[[Safe Mode]]''' (click on "Safe Mode" and read) to localize the problem. Firefox Safe Mode is a diagnostic mode that disables Extensions and some other features of Firefox. If the problem does not occur in Safe-mode then disable all of your Extensions and Plug-ins and then try to find which is causing it by enabling <u>'''one at a time'''</u> until the problem reappears. <u>'''You MUST close and restart Firefox after EACH change'''</u> via File > Restart Firefox (on Mac: Firefox > Quit). You can use "Disable all add-ons" on the Safe mode start window.

    Hi bhagath1339,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
The first troubleshooting steps I would recommend in this situation would be restarting and if the issue continues, resetting the iPhone.
Turn your iOS device off and on (restart) and reset
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
If the issue continues after restarting and resetting, it may be necessary to restore your iPhone to isolate software versus hardware. Please follow the attached article if you need assistance restoring the device.
Use iTunes to restore your iOS device to factory settings

  • Getting Stuck on Auto Updating

    Hi
I have a Newish Macbook pro 3 months old , and running Leopard 10.5.1 and when it does the Auto update , It says I need to restart the computer to finish update , when I do this it starts with the Blue timeline but never moves , I have left it on all Night 8/10 hours but still it never Moves , so I presume It is somehow stuck .. so I usually just Hold down the Power Button and then Restart , but it is doing this every time .. ( does This update take more than 8 hours ????????
it says It needs update 10.5.2 .
So if anyone has any ideas how to fix this , or do I need to Manually Install this update ..
if I do where do I get it and How do I do It ..
    Thanks For help
    Mark

    Hello Globalmark,
I recommend you manually download the COMBO update for 10.5.4 (which is Leopards most current release, don't bother with downloading 10.5.2 before, all its changes are included in 10.5.4) from [here|http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/macosx1054comboupdate.html]. Be aware that it's about 560MB, but it's worth it: the combo updates are fit for every version of the already installed software.
As a precaution repair permissions before and after the update with Disk Utility (this may take a while).

  • How do i fix my ipad it keeps getting stuck on the updating apple logo screen

I tried to factory reset my iPad and it was fine until it came to the apple logo screen where it there was an apple logo and a bar underneath it as if it was like updating it has been like this since yesterday and has not loaded or changed someone plz help

    Hello samueljacob,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
If your iPad isn't booting up completely and is stuck on the Apple logo, then I'd like you to please start with resetting the iPad.
Restart or reset your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
If the issue persists, then please follow the steps outlined below.
If your device gets stuck during startup
When starting up, you might see the Apple logo or a red or blue screen for a long time, or your device might restart again. Try these steps:
Make sure that you have iTunes 12 or later on your computer.
Put your device in recovery mode.
When you get the option to restore or update, select Update. This will reinstall iOS without erasing your data.
If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch doesn't respond or doesn't turn on - Apple Support
    Take care,
    Alex H.

  • Firefox 3.6.5, running Windows 7, always gets stuck at the 80% when trying to install initially.

I've been a long time user of Mozilla Firefox, and have recently upgraded computers, which gave me Windows 7 Home Premium. For the past couple of days I have been trying to install Firefox 3.6.5 but it always gets stuck when its 80% done. Is there something I could do to stop that, or do I need to use a different version of Firefox, and if so, where can I download one?

Do a clean (re)install and download a fresh Firefox copy from http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all.html and save the file to the desktop.
Uninstall your current Firefox version and remove the Firefox program folder before installing that copy of the Firefox installer.
It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
You can skip the step to create a new profile, that is not necessary for this issue.

  • Ipod touch gets stuck on backing up when syncing

when i sync my ipod touch (32g) 3g, it gets stuck on backing up.. I need help..what can i do to get it to sync properly again?

Try moving the backup file(s) to a safe location so iTunes has to create an entire new file. If/when you get a good backup, you can remove the move backup(s).  The backup is located here:
iTunes places the backup files in the following places:
    Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup/
    Windows XP: \Documents and Settings\(username)\Application Data\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\
    Windows Vista and Windows 7: \Users\(username)\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\
Note: If you do not see the AppData or Application Data folders, you may need to show hidden files (Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7), or iTunes may not be installed in the default location. Show hidden files and then search the hard drive for the Backup directory.

You can copy & remove data from Terminal in Recovery mode but frankly I'd use that as a last resort.
The safest option (make a bootable backup)…
    In Recovery mode, Disk Utility.
Select the restore tab for the Macintosh HD, 'restore' that to a new disk.
Next best option (make a 'restorable' disk image)
    In Recovery mode, Disk Utility.
Select 'File > New image > New image from Folder…'
Select the base of Macintosh HD as the folder
Save that as a compressed disk image on another disk.
You will have a clone of the entire disk inside disk image.
You can also use the second method to make a disk image of particular folders.
I'm not sure if this helps, but it sounds like you may be on the road with limited options?
You could contemplate installing OS X to the 150GB (assuming it is empty). Then you could boot from that if you need to get work done for a few days untill you are able to reinstall the internal disk.
Do you have any other user accounts? There are ways to create them, perhaps it is just your user data that is in a mess? Ask if you want info on that.
